I. Backup and Root:
Method 1: just for ROOT - Works with all version till now (1.041.0):
I recommend doing a FULL backup before rooting. Check method 2 for backup details!
Update your Android to the latest version
Install Framaroot. For more details see this thread.
Method 2
Prerequisites: Update your phone to the latest version. Download all the tools and drivers for the steps below from here.
1. Only for Windows Vista, 7 and 8: Disable driver signature enforcement (allows you to install the unsigned drivers). This is a very important step. Search google for your windows version!
2. On the phone go to Settings->Developer Options and Enable (put a tick on) USB debugging
3. Connect your phone to the PC and wait until the ADB driver installs automatically. If it fails manually install it from device manager->update driver and select the driver from the “ADB_driver” folder.
Then install the drivers from “MT6577 USB VCOM drivers” folder. Windows will tell you that it cannot verify the publisher of the driver. Select Install this driver software anyway on all the dialogs.
4. Execute MTKdroidTools.exe from “Mtk_Android2.4.3\MtkDroidTools”. The device should be detected in about 20 seconds. If it fails go step 1.
Once the phone is detected (picture 1) select Block Maps. Make a screenshot of the Block Maps screen and click on the Create scatter file button. Save the file in a safe place.
5. Execute Flash_tool.exe from “SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1304.0.119” folder.
In the download tab click on the Scatter-loading button and load the scatter file created with MTKdroidTools. Then go to the Read back tab. Delete all the entries if any are present.
The click the add button, this creates a blank entry. Double click on the blank entry. You will be asked where to save the file and then to enter the Start Address and Length select Read Method to be Read Page Only.
You find out the values from the screenshot you made before. I created a Sizes.txt file to help you out with the formatting – CHECK if the sizes and start addresses are the same for you!!!!!!!
It’s recommended to add all the partitions (making a full backup) but you can just add recovery.img and boot.img
Turn off your phone. Unplug it from the computer. Remove the battery. Press Read Back button. Holding the Volume Up and Power button together plug the cable to the phone and computer. Once you see a progress in the SP Flash Tool you can release the buttons.
You will see a green circle the progress is complete (Recovery and Boot read back will take few seconds, full backup will take around an hour). Unplug your phone. Make an archive of the backed up files (zip/rar/7zip) so that the files don’t get modified by mistake.
6. Power on the phone. Connect to PC. Adb should be enabled.
Execute MTKdroidTools.exe from “Mtk_Android2.4.3\MtkDroidTools” and wait for the phone to be recognized, in the root, backup, recovery tab and click “Recovery and Boot” button. Select the boot.img from previous step, you will be asked to make a CWM recovery automatically – choose NO and select the recovery.img from the previous step. If it asks to install created recovery to phone choose NO. Close the program.
7. Power off the phone. Disconnect the cable and remove the battery.
Execute Flash_tool.exe from “SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1304.0.119” folder. In the download tab click on the Scatter-loading button and load the scatter file created in step 4.
Leave the checkboxes on BOOTIMG and RECOVERY. Double click on them and select the modified boot.img and recovery.img (they are located in Mtk_Android2.4.3\MtkDroidTools\recovery). Press the Download button, when a message appears saying that not all images are not loaded correctly press YES.
Holding the Volume Up button and Power button simultaneously plug the USB cable.
After the green circle appears remove the cable.
8. Power on the phone. Connect to PC, Execute MTKdroidTools.exe from “Mtk_Android2.4.3\MtkDroidTools” and wait for the phone to be recognized, in the root, backup, recovery tab the “SuperUser”, “Build.prop” and “Delete china” buttons should be active. Press the “SuperUser” button. Now your phone is rooted.
9. Repeat step 7 but use the files from step 5 (unmodified boot.img and recovery.img).
NOTES: Doing a backup doesn’t violate your warranty. Having a backup is a must. OTA firmware updates checks if some of the system files are modified (build.prop and others take a look at the update-script for details). No not integrate update of system apps to rom (using Titanium backup or similar). If you cannot update OTA the use the backup from step 5 to restore your original firmware.
II. Enable init.d support (only for rooted devices):
Install init.d toggler from Play Store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.broodplank.initdtoggler
Note: If someone managed to get init.d support manually please post the steps so I can add it as an alternative method.
III. Swap Phone Storage with SDCard (only for rooted devices):
1. Make a backup (apps, media, contacts)
2. Do a factory reset
3. Using a root explorer (ES File Browser, Root Explorer or other) go to folder /system/etc
edit vold.fstab:
change:
Code:
dev_mount sdcard /storage/sdcard0 [email protected] /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.0 /devices/platform/mtk-sd.0/mmc_host
dev_mount sdcard2 /storage/sdcard1 auto /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.1 /devices/platform/mtk-sd.1/mmc_host

dev_mount sdcard2 /storage/sdcard0 auto /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.1 /devices/platform/mtk-sd.1/mmc_host
edit vold.fstab.nand
change:
Code:
dev_mount sdcard /storage/sdcard0 auto /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.0 /devices/platform/mtk-sd.0/mmc_host
to
Code:
dev_mount sdcard /storage/sdcard0 auto /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.1 /devices/platform/mtk-sd.1/mmc_host
WARNING: NEVER remove the SDCARD while the phone is running!!!! Never power on the phone without an SDCARD!!!!
IV. Entering the service menu:
Open the dialer (where you dial phone numbers) and enter:
*#*#3646633#*#*
V. Changing the maximum output volume of the headphone output:
1. Enter the service menu (chapter IV. In this guide)
2. Select the Hardware Testing tab and navigate to Audio -> Headset mode
3. Select Level: Level 6 and change the Max Vol. field to the desired value and press the Set button. I recommend a maximum value of 150 (the absolute maximum is 160).
You can also edit the loudspeaker volume (from LoudSpeaker Mode) or the phone volume (from Normal Mode).
VI. Enabling A-GPS and EPO
A) Easy method: Settings -> Location access click on GPS satellites (the text NOT the ON/Off button).
Enable A-GPS/EPO.|
B) Service menu method: Enter service menu -> Location -> Location Based Service
Here you have the AGPS and EPO tabs – use the enable checkboxes

Please upload your phone backups and post links in this thread:
I. Flashing firmware with SP Flash Tool.
Check chapter I of previous post for tools link.
II. Flashing pretty much the same as step 7 of chapter I in first post. You load the scatter file and then load the files if they are not loaded (double click and pointing to the corresponding file).
I strongly recommend to do a full backup of the phone before flashing! (If you don't already have one)
You need to flash the following files: MBR, EBR1, UBOOT, RECOVERY, SEC_RO, LOGO, ANDROID (they must be ticked and correct files shoud be loaded).
DO NOT FLASH: PRELOADER, DSP_BL.
You don't need CACHE and USRDATA (if it's not your own backup)

Sorry I haven't tested that. I don't want to customize my phone from scratch.
It should be restored but I cannot guarantee that! Write the default values somewhere to be sure!

How do i unroot? I do not able to upgrade anymore

Nice one mate! I for one didn't know about the service menu and I found the headphone volume with high-impedance headphones to be a bit lacking.
One thing to add: improve GPS performance: http://www.gizchina.com/2013/07/23/how-to-fix-poor-gps-on-mediatek-phones/
A-GPS and EPO are disabled by default on some phones -_-
Another thing: you can tweak the camera output to "raw" which apparently gets rid of most compression, and the overzealous noise reductio:
Service menu>camera>raw capture mode: capture mode
Service menu>camera>raw type: pure raw
Currently experimenting with this.
EDIT: camera settings are only honored in the debug camera app.

Could somebody upload EMEA dual sim stock recovery to i.e. dropbox or somewhere else? I am not able to upgrade after root anymore. Tried to flash back original boot and recovery and remover supersu. No lucky :crying:

pubbapubba you have modified some system files that's why your phone fails the update checksum progress.
Sorry I don't have a phone without root, but you can update to the latest version (1.041.0) from the second post of this thread (just uploaded minutes ago) but it's ROOTED.
Flash ONLY the following files: BOOTIMG, RECOVERY, ANDROID, UBOOT, LOGO, SEC_RO!!!

Citruspers, I will add the GPS and other tweaks when I have time to properly describe all the options

Thanks for the detailed guide!
When I am running the flash_tool two things happen...
1. My "Read Flag" column is a check box radio with N/A beside it. Not like what your screen shot shows.
2. I can add the starting and length for each item, but the last errors out saying "[Warning] Read back address is adjusted to 512 byte alignment. For the last item "bmtpool" (I have manually typed the values and also cut and pasted your text file entries. My scatter file has the exact same start and length as your guide.
Any idea what I am doing wrong?
EDIT: I tried several times and with changing nothing I now have the Read Flag choices and was able to set page only. I am still getting a Warning on the last item, but the values stuck... am now going to perform the backup and see how it goes.
Ahh... the selecting of the scatter file is the difference. If I load the scatter file first I have no Read Flag choices, if I leave it blank I do. The scatter file changes to EMMC and gets rid of the Read Flag choices.
EDIT: Also just realized I did not upgrade the firmware to 1.41 so am doing that now. (My original CATB15 came with 1.41, this is a replacement brand new out of box and it needed to be upgraded. Will see if that makes any difference.
EDIT: I upgraded firmware and ran it anyway. Was able to root the phone following the steps... Thanks for the guide.. Only thing I saw so far is I would not load the scatter file first in step 5.... as this removes the ability to set the Read Flag choices, although they get overwritten when you do load the scatter file in your screenshot as well.

1. Which method. Famaroot or the tested one?
2. If you want to put the factory version you must have a backup of a factory firmware. I'm waiting for factory (as I call them "virgin" firmwares)
3. You SOULD (not 100% guaranteed) be able to update after root IF you don't modify the build.prop, the framework and library files (in system) and the /system/apps folder. You can add files to system but DO NOT replace, modify system files! Do NOT integrate system app ugrades to system. I'll add the full list of files that SHOULD NOT be modified for the OTA updates to work - when I have time!
EDIT: Unrooted firmware added to second post. It's EMEA DS 1.1041.0. Thanks to Wedee. Please confirm if the firmware works (on DUAL SIM phone It may brick Single Sim)

friend all cat b15 is EMEA???? as if my cat b15 is EMEA?

Go to Settings -> About phone and Check the build number:
If it Says EMEA_DS.1.1041.00 Than its EMEA region, Dual SIM and the version is 1.1041.0.
I don't know what are the other regions? Maybe there is an version for the Americas?

[ROOT + CWM 6.0.1.5 or 5.5.0.4] Lenovo IdeaPad A2107A (-H)

The following post is just a TESTED collection of tools and procedures that were found over at XDA forum or elsewhere on the Internet.
I do not take any credit for all those nice scripts and manuals - I just put them together for the young community of IdeaPad A2107A owners.
Below you will find methods of getting root and Clockwork Mod Recovery v 6.0.1.5 on IdeaPad A2107A (I own the -H version with dual SIM and ca. 4 GB of internal memory).
All processes were tested by me and are working well but obviously you are responsible for your actions.
My device runs on ICS 4.0.3, compilation A2107A-H_S341 and has a couple of European languages (tablet bought in Poland).
What you need is installed ADB drivers so the PC can "talk" to you tablet. You will find a lot of guides on the net - just make sure Windows device manager shows Android Device - Android ADB Interface or something close to that.
I also advise to enable USB debugging and allow installing applications from unknown sources - all in your tablet's settings.
Once you make sure you have done the above you're good to go.
So let's go!
Download this: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?5o7dm16d430lwal (un7zip) and read as follows:
1 - Root
The method I chose is for patient people - the device will reboot 3 times during this process.
a) connect your tablet to the PC, open "1 - 4.03root" folder and run "root.bat"
b) just after you run the .bat the device will reboot and in the command prompt you will see "Press any key to continue . . ." - WAIT until the tablet boots up completely. When you see the lockcreen THEN hit a key in the command prompt.
c) the above will happen 2 more times - always WAIT for the tablet to boot completely.
This process will install Superuser and RootExplorer so find those apps and see if the root works.
2 - Backup the whole ROM that is on your device - will be useful with making the CWM recovery.img file.
For this you will need ca. 2GB of memory so I advise at least 4GB sdcard.
I also advise to go to the settings and in the memory tab set the "Default write disk" to "SD storage" - this makes the microSD the primary "sdcard" - makes things easier with backups etc.
ALSO in the settings set the screen to stay on for at least 10 minutes - this is how long it will take to do the full ROM dump - important to keep the script alive.
To avoid any issues turn the flight mode on so no new "data" is received by the device.
Once you're done open "2 - Backup" folder from my 7zip and copy the "gscript" folder to the root of your sdcard. Now install "GScriptLite.apk" and run it (needs root access!).
In the app hit the menu button and pick "Add Script" ->"Need SU?" must be checked -> "Load file" -> select "back_mt6575_a4_v2c.sh" -> save and click the script.
As I said - wait ca 10 minutes for the scrip to finish. Now you will have a nice backup in the SD - look for "backup_v2" folder - copy it to your PC.
3 -Mobileuncle - it's in the Google Play Store but you won't find it with our tablet - supposedly incompatible. Bull*hit!
Open "3 - Mobileuncle" folder, copy the apk to your device and install. We will come back to this later.
4 - How about the CWM? Yes!
Open "4 - CWM 6015" - you will find a PDF there - read the instructions. The subfolder "michfood" contanis all the scripts you need so you don't have to download anything else.
ATTENTION - the "recovery.img" used in this process is YOUR "recovery.img" that you dumped in step 2. So find your backup from step 2 and the original "recovery.img" from your ROM.
ATTENTION - our device is MT6575 so you pick nr 1 in the command prompt.
5 - Once you have the new "recovery.img" with CWM (it is actually smaller than the original file) copy it to the root of your sdcard.
Now open the Mobileuncle Tools you installed in step 3 and hit "Recovery Update".
There, at the very top of the screen you will see your new CWM recovery file - hit it and then confirm the update. It takes a second!
Now you will be asked to boot into recovery mode - go ahead, try it
If the tablet booted in CWM then you are all set!
REMEMBER - to go into the recovery mode while the device is OFF you need to:
1 - hold the power button for ca 3 seconds
2 - let it go and in the same moment press BOTH Vol + and Vol - buttons.
REMEMBER 2 - the CWM 6.0.1.5 makes backups in a bit different way than the old CWM - read here :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846446
It also appears that the key to modding our tablet is the MT6575 processor - a lot of tools just need to support this processor, the device itself is not so important.
All the best.
Mike.
P.S.
A little film how it looks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tM3Sdwf2i4M
------------------------------------------------- UPDATE 1 ---------------------------------------------------------
For those who are running the same compilation as I am (A2107A-H_S341):
- you can download my recovery file from here: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?um372gh6ayf6t6w
To use it you need to do:
1 - Root
(optional backup with GScriptLite.apk)
2 - flash the recovery file with Mobileuncle
Be careful and make sure you have a backup if you want to try this file with another compilation.
Cheers.
------------------------------------------------- UPDATE 2 ---------------------------------------------------------
Tested (by user: manwithmanypiercings) USB drivers are in this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=34651039&postcount=51
------------------------------------------------- UPDATE 3 ---------------------------------------------------------
I think there is even easier way than the one I originally posted above.
BUT I cannot be sure that it will work with all of you - the reason is that I made so many changes to my A2107A-H that I do not know whether this method works "just because it's universal" or because my tablet was tweaked far enough.
On the other hand when you consider it reasonably it looks like it's quite simple and there is no particular reason why it shouldn't work with a stock A2107A.
So...
What you need:
1 - this package: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?fbuzi5xjofs7vgf
2 - PC running Windows 7 would be the best (7 gave me no problems at all - takes 1 minute to do it). I made it on Windows 8 as well but there is a lot more fuss to install the proper driver.
What you do:
1 - turn on USB Debugging on your tablet
2 - connect the tablet to your PC (if it's the 1st, some default drivers will install - that's ok)
3 - tap on the notifications area in the "Connect as" change to "MTP" - this is quite important !
4 - from the downloaded package run the "Flash_tool.exe"
- click "Scatter-loading" on the right and find "MT6575_Android_scatter_emmc.txt"
- in the list in the lower part of the window you MUST have the "PRELOADER" (super important) and "RECOVERY" ticked and leading to the correct files. The PRELOADER = "preloader_lenovo75_a2_ics.bin" (in the package) and the RECOVERY is the recovery file of your choice -> there are 3 in the package - pick the one you want. You can flash them over and over so if you don't like one then try the other.
5 - click "Download" above - you will see a prompt saying that not all images were loaded - that is fine - we only want to flash the RECOVERY - so click "Yes"
6 - now the Flash tool is waiting for the tablet - press "reset" on the back - Windows will recognize a new device (and WILL NOT find the driver unless you have done it before) - no worries, you have the correct driver.
7 - open Windows "Device manager" and locate the MT65..... unrecognised device -> update / install driver -> point Windows to "USB VCOM Driver" folder from the package and pick your system. My Windows 7 found the driver on the spot but asked to confirm the install - "insecure" driver - I obviously clicked "install anyway" and so should you.
8 - once the driver is loaded the Flash tool will flash the new recovery file - you will see some colour progress bars in the program - at the end you should see a green circle.
That is it. Unplug the tablet, press reset on the back and you can now enter the recovery mode.
FUN FACT: the "reset" button on the back is not really a reset button, it's more like physical cut off button to temporarily disconnect the battery.
I have the Lenovo A2107A under Vodafone's brand Vodafone Smart Tab II 7
It has Android version 4.0.4 and compilation: A2107A_A404_010_002_120913_VODA
Imanaged to root it and install CWM using this thread. But somehow I was not able to create the CWM modded recovery.img
I used the one provided here and it worked fine.
Thanks for this.
I can't connect tablet to PC

Mike.

Hi there,
Try those drivers: http://www.mediafire.com/?vx2hyv7dpwlmeyy
They come from the current Android SDK but I am running a 64 bit system and I'm not sure if those drivers will work with 32 bit systems.
Fingers crossed!
I tried with yor recommend dirvers and with a lot of others and doesn't work. I have to unrecognised denices in Device Manager - A2107A-H and MTP.
I am very upset about Lenovo because their support doesn't exist.

First of all, a ton of thanx to csns for posting this detailed procedure along with all required scripts and tools...
I have just one question...Which Modified ROM did you install as I see you have unlocked calling feature in the video you posted???
I asked because the MOD ROM by pemergency in the other thread is for the 16 GB and creates some issues in the device...But your's is 4 GB, as is mine...
Thanx in advance

I'm glad you find my post useful.
As for the calling feature - it's not actually working
You see, to have the calling app (in other words "the phone" app) in the app drawer all you need to do is change one tiny value in framework-res.apk.
This value is telling the system weather the whole device is supposed to handle voice calls or not. I just tricked the system to make the Phone.apk visible but there is a lot more do be done in order to make a real call over the cellular network.
I've just had this tablet for a week and I didn't have much time to dig into this topic. Let's see what the weekend brings
Be patient, I think it's just a matter of time when someone posts a user friendly guide... Or search yourself and share what you find with the community.
Take care.

Yes!

2. The permissions for both folders is "Full Control" for all users.
3. Files not hdden or protected.

Well, this happened to me once and I think the reason was that the path was too long - I guess it may have something to do with the fact that the .bat is a simple "program" and can have some problems with handling long paths.. specially with "national" character in them.
Try finding a location as close to the root of the drive as possible, and make sure you have full R/W access. Or try with a pendrive for example.
Since you made a backup of your ROM I think you are quite safe with using the recovery I uploaded - first post -> UPDATE 1.
They seem to fit all 2107A devices. If not I will tell you how to restore the original recovery from your backup.
You can also read UPDATE 3 I just made - your choice.

Hello csns,
Thanx to your help, I have also got CWM recovery working on my device.
BTW I saw these two posts on a forum in Russian (I guess)...I used google translate and am pretty sure these two posts that I provide links for below have two modified ROMs with everything working, including phone and radio !!! The only draw back is that once you flash these ROMs you'll get Russian language, which can be changed to English from the language menu
I plan to fo it myself as well tomorrow, would let you know the outcome

and

and of course you can also try the "Angeleas_Final" modified ROM also that I'll upload and provide links to tomorrow
Thanx again for all your help !!!
I also had many trouble getting the cwm bat file to work. It is very picky about its path and arguments on Win7.
I moved the michfood folder to C: and moved my own recovery.img to C:\michfood\recovery.old
cd C:\michfood
cwmr\ 6015.bat recovery.old
That worked - otherwise it wouldnt finish the cpio stuff.
Reworking that horrible script to work on linux would have probably taken less time -_-
Anyway - thanks!
Permissions problems on Windows7
Hi,
I Had the same problem.

My solution:
It was required to use a directory not to deep in folder structures, so the best is as short as possible like "C:\michfood".
I had to add "Full Control" permissions for "everyone" to the "michfood"-directory and enable the "replicate permissions to subfolders"-option (I don't know the exact designation because I use it in german ... )
I had to delete an existing "Recovery" folder inside the "michfood"-directory from earlier attempts to create the new file and for this I had to take over the ownership of the "Recovery" folder before I was able to delete it.
The original Recovery.img must be in a different folder than "michfood". This can be on the desktop but for a shorter path it could be in the root directory.
I had success after copying "cwmr 6015.bat" to "go.bat" (it's shorter and does not contain any space in it) and calling it from command line from its directory( C:\>cd C:\michfood ) with: "go C:\Recovery.img" ( I had Recovery.img on C:\ ).

I copied the folder as "C:\michfoods" and recovery image file as "C:\recovery.img" and gave the command "cwmr6015 C:\recovery.img"...Before that, I removed the space from the file name "cwmr 6015.bat" and saved it as "cwmr6015.bat".

Lenovo A60+ ROOTED stock rom (Philippines). WORKING contact identification.

Lenovo A60+ ROOTED stock rom (Philippines). WORKING contact identification either international format or local format.
this one works without any problems for PH Lenovo A60+ specially have tried ALL stock roms(chinese) and cooked/custom roms has problem with caller i.d. or number identification from international format (+63xxxxxxxxxx) to local format (0xxxxxxxxxx) in your contacts or phonebook. see instructions below to root your Lenovo A60+ without having issues/problems with caller/contact identification:
in ALL stock ROM and custom roms i have tried, ALL these have ISSUES or PROBLEMS with caller/contact identification. lets say:
a. your contact stored number is 0919xxxxxxx
b. 0919xxxxxxx calls you, the contact identification will show.
c. 0919xxxxxxx send you an sms/text. the contact will NOT show because the SMS sender is +63919xxxxxxx
twist:
a. your contact stored number is +63919xxxxxxx
b. 0919xxxxxxx calls you, the contact identification will NOT show. because the caller incoming number is 0919xxxxxxx and your phone number in contacts is 63919xxxxxxx. this two numbers is treated as two different numbers.
c. 0919xxxxxxx send you an sms/text. the contact will show because the SMS sender is +63919xxxxxxx
basically in the Philippines number formats sent by networks are:
receiving calls: 0919xxxxxxx or international format
receiving SMS/text: +63919xxxxxxx or local format
as said i have tried ALL(as of date january 14, 2012) stock roms and custom roms available in the internet for rooting this Lenovo A60+. have spent DAYS figuring out and trying out(kaskus, xda-dev, symbianized, etc). dont look any further and waste time like what i did. this procedure is for you to save yourself days and time lost!
----------------
DISCLAIMER: i am not responsible for any lost of data, your phone bricked or loss of your phones warranty. remember that ROOTING an android device VOIDS manufacturers WARRANTY. I DO not HOST any of these files.
BEFORE rooting, do this necessary steps:
1. backup your phone's IMEI. this is likely to be erased/lost in ROOTING or installing new roms. thus you wil get an "Invalid IMEI" message or your sim cannot locate networks or has no signal. check google play for IMEI backup apps and backup into your SD card. otherwise read the tutorial after on how to re-create your IMEI file and restore into your phone system.
2. BACKUP your contacts and messages/sms, applications etc. most likely all data will be lost too. so you need to restore it after ROOTING procedure.
3. DISABLE and turn off any anti-virus softwares in your PC and any PC to Phone applications such as IdeaTool, MobileGO, Snap Pea, Etc. so that this will NOT interfere with the rooting procedure.
----------------
TUTORIAL PROPER in rooting your Lenovo A60+ ROOTED stock room version with SU(superuser apk and binary), the EASY and beginner/newbie way:
Download these files and tool:
1. Philippine STOCK Lenovo A60+ ROM version A60+_ROW_S310_120823 ROOTED with SU or superuser: mediafire.com/?n1i35c3neu6ud3d - Size 125.45 MB - DO NOT unzip this.
2. Mobileuncle apk and Recovery Image: mediafire.com/?bo12ktkrrn57314 - Size 5.29 MB - unrar this to get a.) mobileuncle.apk b.) recovery.img
3. Windows Driver: mediafire.com/?31nddwqdot5ajp2 - Size 10.89 KB - UNZIP this. this is for your PC to read your phone via flashtool (so link number 4 will be able to communicate PC to Phone/Device).
4. Flash Tool: dropbox.com/s/f7gfyqtwyn5qkpa/ISO-8859-1__Flash tool.rar - Size 3.60 MV - unrar/unzip this to get "Flash tool" folder.
5. Firmware Upgrade: mediafire.com/?ehiyzbdmlauo7i7 - Size 166.59 MB - unrar/unzip this to get the folder "Boot". this is a chinese custom rom firmware build number A60+_S312_120630 with SU(superuser) and mobileuncle tools 2.3.6 pre installed and a lot of pre installed bloatwares. dont worry will be removing this and installing an english language rooted rom anyways.
Follow these step by step, with SIM cards REMOVED from the phone/device:
Step 1: Prepare needed files and copy to SD Card the three files:
a.) a60+ori.zip (link number 1) should be zipped file so DONT unzip this.
b.) mobileuncle.apk (unzipped from link number 2)
c.) recovery.img (unzipped from link number 2)
into the root/top folder of your SD card. see screenshot here: http://screencast.com/t/AvBLMyth
Step 2: INSTALLING the PC drivers - Turn off the phone, take the battery out, connect your phone to the pc(while battery is not inserted) via usb cable. your pc will detect your device and will try to search and install drivers. MANUALLY install(manually select the drivers pointing to the drivers folder on your pc) the drivers in the unzipped folder "MT6575 USB VCOM drivers" (link number 3) appropriate for your windows version(xp/vista/7).
Step 3: ROOTING with Flashtool - unplug usb cable from your phone, insert the battery (do not turn on the phone/device yet).
Run Flash Tool(Flash_tool.exe in the unzipped folder of link number 4). screenshot here: http://screencast.com/t/BLOR3S0Nn1
while in flash tool window:
a.) Click scatter-loading at the upper right corner of the flashtool window.
b.) browse to "Boot" folder which was extracted/unzipped in link number 5.
c.) select MT6575_Android_scatter.txt file and click open. see screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/6TaKi73J
d.)
d.1. Tick/Select all 9 options.
d.2. Click "Firmware -> Upgrade" button at the top.
See screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/OIKfwN0s
d.3. Flashtool will now be SEARCHING or WAITING for your device to be connected and ready to flash/write the files you selected in step d.1. see screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/1H3By7t3wsll
Step 4: while your phone is TURNED OFF, NO SIMS, NO SD card,.. and it has its battery on it; on your phone/device HOLD(press and dont release) "volume +" or "volume up" key(top-right side of your phone) and plug the cable until the progress bar at the bottom is running, when the progress bar turns RED, you can RELEASE the "Volume up/+" key. see screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/wDPM9Ym8AHG
Wait around 5 minutes. the progress bar at the bottom will show as RED then YELLOW, then TEAL. wait until a green circle in a pop up window appears. when the green circle appears; this mean success in flashing with the rom upgrade. see screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/OGLHkf55
Step 5: Close Flashtool application in your PC. unplug the phone/device USB cable. turn on the device you would notice the default language is Chinese. to change language, go to settings(purple icon with gear), scroll down to languages(violet icon with letter A). select first option at the top. tap English.
Step 6. INSTALLING MOBILEUNCLE CWM RECOVERY - Turn off your phone/device and insert your sim cards and your SD Card(the SD card you copied the 3 files in Step 1). turn it back on. on "New Sim Detected" pop up window. just close it.
6.a. turn OFF "GPS" and "Data conn." at the top(swipe the top area going down).
6.b. open the application "FileBrowser" which is pre installed in the firmware. browse to your SD card's root and install mobileuncle.apk that you copied in step 1(this is version 2011.01.04v1.2). a pop up window will show "Install blocked". tap "Settings" tap or check "Unknown sources". Tap "OK" on the "Attention" window. tap on back. tap again on mobileuncle.apk tap install. tap open. tap get started. tap OK in the chinese pop-up window.
6.c. tap on "Flash Recovery From SdCard" (its the second option from the top). tap on "recovery.img" then tap "OK". Superuser will pop up and quick tap OK to grant superuser permission.
6.d. the phone will reboot and enter CWM-based Recovery v6.0.0.3(english version, CWM stands for ClockWorkMod).
Step 7. INSTALLING THE STOCK ROM WITH ROOT USING CWM - IN CASE that the phone/device did not enter CWM recovery but booted as regular boot. turn the phone off. turn it back ON while you HOLD on the "Volume +/up" button. this will enter to CWM-based Recovery. otherwise proceed with steps below:
7.a. while in the CWM-based Recovery console, Lenovo A60+ touchscreen doesnt work. the hardware volume up and down works as buttons to scroll up and down. while the power button works as the SELECT button.
7.b. scroll down twice(press volume down button twice) to highlight "wipe data/factory reset" option. press power button to select it. scroll down and highlight "Yes -- delete all user data". press power buttn to select. wait for around 20 seconds to complete.
7.c. scroll down to "wipe cache partition" and press power button. scroll down to "Yes - Wipe Cache". wait 2 seconds to complete.
7.d. scroll down to "install zip from sdcard" and press power button. press again power button to select "choose zip from sdcard".
7.e. scroll down to locate and highlight "a60+ori.zip". press power button. confirm the install by scrolling down and select "Yes - Install a60+ori.zip". wait for around 1 minute for the process to complete. the process completes with the console last text "Install from sdcard complete." shows at the bottom while you will be able to choose from the options at the top again.
7.f. scroll down and select +++++Go Back+++++ then select "reboot system now".
Step 8: FIX on INVALID IMEI AFTER SUCCESSFUL ROOTING - by now you have a ROOTED A60+_ROW_S310_120823 ROM. all apps are working EXCEPT that your phone has "Invalid IMEI". this is because Device IMEI's are UNIQUE to each phone. now, lets fix this!!!
files and tools to download:
8.1. download t-kstore.com/imei.zip - Size 4.22 MB - its a dos based IMEI generator and encryptor and write to file.
8.2. download download.estrongs.com/app-es-file-explorer.html - Size 2.81 MB - an apk "es_file_explorer_v1.6.2.4.apk" and application to manage files in your android device. copy the es_file_explorer_v1.6.2.4.apk file to your SD card's root/top folder.
8.3. RE-CREATING your phone/device IMEI - locate your Unique Lenovo A60+ IMEI. there are two places these 15 digit number can be located. FIRST is when you open your phone, its in the sticker attached to your phone under the battery. on Philippine released phones its in between the stickers of Lenovo and NTC stickers. SECOND location is the sticker on the side of your phone's Lenovo box/carton/package.
8.4. extract/unzip imei.zip that you downloaded in 8.1.
8.5. go to the extracted folder and run "dos.cmd". this will run a DOS console window in your pc.
8.6. in the dos command line type:
imei.exe 123456789012345 123456789012345
then press enter to execute the command line.
whereas, the first set of numbers is your IMEI #1 and second set is your IMEI #2 as you located in Step 8.3.
after pressing enter this will generate your encrypted IMEI file with the name "MP0B_001_NEW". see screenshot: http://screencast.com/t/lUUzC3yiTNn
8.7. close the dos console window. rename that file generated "MP0B_001_NEW" to "MP0B_001" (without the qoutes) in the folder where you extracted imei.zip
8.8. copy MP0B_001 to your phone's sd card. for this tutorial just copy it to your sd card's root folder.
8.9. INSTALLING ES Explorer, moving the IMEI file to the phone's correct system folder - install and run es_file_explorer_v1.6.2.4.apk which you previously downloaded and copied to your SD card in step 8.2.
8.10. open ES File explorer on your phone. first window on first run just click okay. tap on the bottom left button of your A60+. tap "Settings". tap "File Settings" select or check "Show Hidden Files". tap back. scroll down and tap "Root Settings". tap or check "Root Explorer". SU pop up will show and grant root or tap yes to give privilege to ES File Explorer. tap or check "Up to Root" and "Mount File System". tap back twice.
8.11. on your sdcard's root/top folder locate the file MP0B_001 which you copied in your sd card in step 8.8.
long press on the icon then tap "Copy". a little pull up window will show at the bottom(which is the clipboard of es file explorer).
8.12. tap the "favorites" icon at the top-right corner. tap the device icon or the one with "/" which is to the right of the HOME or house icon. this will bring you to the root folder of your device. navigate(navigate by tapping the folders) to: /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/
you will see 3 files. long press on the MP0B_001 then select "Delete". yes DELETE you wont be using this anyways. tap okay when youre asked to confirm deletion. at the bottom, swipe up the es file explorer's clipboard. tap on MP0B_001 icon which is in the clipboard. a message will show something like "MP0B_001 successfully copied...". exit es file explorer. RESTART your A60+.
EUREKA!!! you strike gold! you now have a ROOTED A60+ with working caller/sms identification.
Step 9: restore your backups, apps, sms, contacts, settings.

Im copying the flashtool link but it gives me this bandwidth error, because Ill just be needing the root access. android market wont download apps i need to replace it.
nag eenglish lng ako pra mka benefit din yung mga forangers. hihihihi
Could you also help us how to swap sd card with internal storage? so that apps could directly install in the external sd card.
Link2SD
thanks for the tut bro!!!
to increase internal storage of A60+
we need to install Link2SD
Using Minitool Partition wizard
we need to create 2 partition in our SD card
first partition must be set to Primary & Fat32
second partition must be set to Primary & ext4 (A60+ doesn't recognized fat, fat32, ext2, & Ext3 in second partition)
please note that the second partition even we sized it as 2gb when we open the link2SD storage info
the second partition display it as 1Gb only, but worry not it will still going to use the other space yuo have created
mine, was set to 2gb and have transferred 153MB of files to the second partition
and it is still showing 100% free and used: 153MB
@guilliam perhaps you can add this to your tut.
Thanks again..God Bless!
thanks for this i have rooted my lenovo a60+ hehe, there's one problem i've encountered when i go to setting and click on the about phone the settings becomes force close, is it happened to you? well i had follow the instructions though.. anyway thanks for this TUT hehe hope there will be rom for our lenovo a660+ which had no bugs at all hehe
Guidance needed!
Hello Guiliam
Thanks for such a detailed post. I am quite new to this, and just have some basic understanding on the rooting/flashing etc. I am planning to root my Lenovo A60+ which I have bought in China, which has unnecessary bloatware and more importantly there is no Google Play app in that. I am based in India, and would want to know if your ROM will work for me as well?
Is your post only covering Rooting part or does it also cover any flashing part (custom ROM), the reason I ask is because apart from rooting, I also want to install the ROM which is in English (or can the language be changed automatically?)
I am looking to root my "Lenovo A60+" - primarily for reasons like:
1. I do not have stock Google Play Store app, and I am not sure how to download that app.
2. I have bought this phone in China, and there is lot of unwanted Chinese software which I want to get rid of.
3. I want to get rid of the Chinese keyboard (iFlytek) and only have Android keyboard.
I have questions like:
1. If my rooting fails for some reason, can I un-root the device to restore it to the previous state (i.e. with all the stock apps)
2. I want to avoid bricking my phone, even if it happens, will I be able to go back to the previous state by un-rooting?
Some details of my phone:
Model - Lenovo A60+
Android version - 2.3.6
Build number - A60+_S318_121108
Baseband version - MAUI.11AMD.W11.50.SP.V13.P10,2012/07/13 13:26
"Step 2: INSTALLING the PC drivers - Turn off the phone, take the battery out, connect your phone to the pc(while battery is not inserted) via usb cable. your pc will detect your device and will try to search and install drivers. MANUALLY install(manually select the drivers pointing to the drivers folder on your pc) the drivers in the unzipped folder "MT6575 USB VCOM drivers" (link number 3) appropriate for your windows version(xp/vista/7)."
Anyone I need help...I dont get this step >_<"

You'll need to cancel Windows looking for the drivers. Of course, the installation will fail.
Then go to Device Manager and look for the device with the "!". Right-click on that device, choose Update Driver then locate the drivers that you downloaded.

Question, I need help!
Hi, thanks for the great tutorial, I have successfully rooted my Lenovo a60+! My question is, can I install custom ROMS on my freshly rooted phone? Popular ROMS like Cyanogenmod or Paranoid Android require phone compatibility, and my phone is not on their list. I'm starting to feel sick after I have rooted my phone because I have no idea yet how to install custom roms (which was my main reason of rooting), will you be nice to me by answering these questions?
- Does custom ROMS do require phone compatibility?
- Are all or some custom ROMS compatible to all android phones as long as they are rooted?
- If so, do you have a list of ROMS that are compatible to my Lenovo a60+?
- Lastly, please tell me that there is a way to upgrade the phone's OS from gingerbread to jelly bean or even ice cream sandwich.
Please help me! I have an empty rooted Lenovo a60+ and I need a custom ROM to be installed before I put my data back again. Thanks in advance, and also for the root tutorial. ))
Please! Anyone! Heeeellpp!!!
My Phone is Bricked!
It stays in the Lenovo screen and will not eventually boot up.
I have installed Chainfire 3D from the market and was surprised that it did not have the options that I was expecting from the tutorial, so I read the description on the application, it says, ''Driver not installed, you need to install driver before you can access options''. So i installed the drivers, then everything was ok, I can still use my phone, but Chainfire 3d still needs me to update the drivers, so I did, then, suddenly, my phone's screen just froze, and I cannot access my notifications, home back menu keys, power button, in fact my screen does not work anymore. Feeling nervous, I left it untouched for an hour and checked it back its still the same the moment i left it. So I took the battery out, tried to turn it on again, and now, I'm stuck with the Lenovo screen and will not boot up to stock ROM, please Help me! I need my phone as soon as it is fixed! Please HELP!!!
Here are the details of my rooted Lenovo A60+:
- Followed the rooting process here, so I have Clockwork recovery mod 6
- Has a installed Chainfire 3d 1.7
- Installed stock ROM
- Has no backups
- Can access the recovery mode
- Already done the ''wipe data'' ''wipe cache'' ''factory reset'' and everything, wiped my phone clean.
Please help me, my parents are going to kill me if I can't fix my phone.
Thanks for the post. When I tried I got an error "S_PART_NO_VALID_TABLE (1037)" after the status bar showed 100% in red colour. Need help please. Thank you.
Thank you for the post but it cannot work
Error S_PART_NO_VALID_TABLE (1037), and the status bar stays 100% red color. Anyway, thanks

[GUIDE] Rooting and CWM on PORTRONICS LIMEBOX!!!!

For all you Indian Users, or anybody who owns a Portronics Limebox running GB; root and CWM has finally been achieved!
Disclaimer: I am not responsible if you end up bricking your device. This procedure has been known to work for my Limebox. Deviate from the procedure and you have no right to blame me....
After lots of hours of extensive searching (with absolutely no help from portronics), I found an exact match to our device: G-Box (See the Remote???). Our Device is a Rockchip Processor, specifically RK2918. Rockchip processors are known to lock down the /system partition with a filesystem called cramfs. Don't worry, that can be solved too!
Before we start, Understand the 3 modes you can set the device in:
1. Normal Power On (Self-Explanatory)
2. Recovery Mode (Stick a Pin in the Reset Hole and keep the Power Button pressed at the same time)
3. Flash Mode:
i. Disconnect the AC Power.
ii. Connect a USB Male to Male Cable in the LOWER PORT. (similar results don't come from the upper one). Connect the other end to the PC.
iii. Stick the Pin in the reset hole. Simultaneously, connect the AC Power.
iv. The device should turn on with a blue light and no display on the screen. The PC will detect the device. Use the flash mode drivers given below.
v. Flash Mode generally works in all conditions, even if it does not boot, unless you do something really stupid :fingers-crossed: !
Now onto the procedure!
Obtaining Root
1. As i mentioned earlier, our device is exactly similiar to 'G-Box'. See the thread here (on android forums) for all development pertaining to their device. Most of what I've mentioned here comes from this forum (Big thanks to all of them )
2. Download the Official Firmware here or a Modded Lite version here (credits to xzer0).
3. Download the img Unpacker (RK29xx ImageTools : big thanks to wendal!!)
4. Use the img Unpacker to unpack the Official/Modded Firmware. If you are downloading the Official, be sure to Pack the Firmware after unpacking, since it adds the root files to the image file then. You do not need to repack for the modded one, since that is pre-rooted.
5. The Firmware will be unpacked to a folder called 'Temp'. Ignore the folder 'System'.
6. Start the Flasher (RK29update.exe). Connect the device in Flash mode to your PC and install the drivers. RK29Update should detect the device (It will say 'Detected' or something like that at the bottom)
7. For Parameter, choose the parameter file inside the Temp folder. Do not touch the offset values AT ALL.
8. For Loader, choose the .bin file that has 'loader' in the file name (in the Temp folder). Let its offset be blank, if it is.
9. For all the remaining (except backup), point them to their respective files in the 'image' folder inside 'temp'.
10. Tick Mark all except Backup. Before Pressing Update, click Format. Let it finish and wait for the device to be re-detected.
11. Press Update and wait until it finishes and the device disconnects from your computer. (It may disconnect once or twice in between. Be patient. Look at the Log on the right side to be absolutely sure when to unplug it.)
12. Your device should immediately reboot into recovery. It will format /DATA, /CACHE and /uDisk. When it is done, it will reboot into Andoid. (Though the interface looks different, it is more or less an exact copy of the Portronics).
13. Enjoy your rooted Limebox!
Known Issues:
1. Moody at boot. Takes some time to show the 'ANDROID' text on the screen. Be patient.
2. Cant get into recovery on the modded firmware. The Recovery Mode trick causes it to simply switch off. No hassle, with Flash Mode, you have the best kind of recovery!
Optional Stuff (Be Careful. You have been warned. )
CWM Recovery
I technically do not encourage using CWM on this device because i've had bad experiences with it. But its nothing that can't be fixed with a re-flash. So.....the technique is simple. Obtain a recovery.img file (specifically for any RK2918 device) from here or here or anywhere you like. When you flash the new rom, in place of the recovery.img file in the \temp\image\ folder, choose this one. If additional files are given to flash, you can flash those too. However, like i said, there are complications, it may not always work. But if you face any issues, simply reflash with the official recovery.
Removing Apps
If you wish to remove apps from the Official or Modded firmware (which is difficult, since its locked down with cramfs), after unpacking the image, go into \system\app\, delete the apps you dont want and then repack (Important!). For some reason, I've never been able to add an app. You don't need to do it this way if you use the Ext3 Image (Read on!!!)
Ext3 FileSystem
So, as i mentioned earlier, you can get a system.img that is of ext3 filesystem instead of cramfs. Simply download the image file from here and use that for the same flashing procedure. (Credits to Finless (Bob) and Paincake)
Need someone for small testing!
Can somebody find the /backup folder in the root directory? What are the contents?
unable to detect limebox on my win7 64bit laptop
3. Flash Mode:
i. Disconnect the AC Power.
ii. Connect a USB Male to Male Cable in the LOWER PORT. (similar results don't come from the upper one). Connect the other end to the PC.
iii. Stick the Pin in the reset hole. Simultaneously, connect the AC Power.

My apologies for the very late reply. As I recall, the drivers are for 32bit, have you repeated the steps on a 32bit machine? Did the pc attempt to recognize it?

[GUIDE] [ROOT] myPhone HAMMER AXE M LTE

I finally found a way to root the myPhone Hammer AXE M LTE!!! You can use Magisk to patch the boot.img from the 1.0.3 OTA! See the attached thumbnails at the bottom.
My steps:
1) Upgrade to the latest OTA from myPhone (1.0.3). In the event that you can’t download it through your phone, I’ve uploaded it to MEGA: https://mega.nz/#!Ndw3TYrR!nozVRHC1M4ugn-_PKzC7tn1fAAV6w7bB7Iq2uRr8FHA
1a) I had to manually reboot into recovery to install the update. Power off the phone, hold power + PTT until you see the myPhone logo. Once you see the dilapidated robot, tap and hold power then vol + (in that order!!!).
2) The update should be on your external SDcard. Select it and wait for the install to finish.
3) After the install completes, reboot to your system and install the Magisk Manager: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
3a) If you want to use my patched boot and scatter, skip steps 4, 5, and 6 and go to step 7. Patched boot, Scatter, Magisk.apk and Stock Recovery: https://mega.nz/#!YAQ3BQyS!dJjw-O9pyB7ra2q3qrheo7VFXeyUc4MmW1aqbBqTi6I
4) From within the Magisk Manager, go to settings, enable BETA. Go back to the main Magisk screen and select install. Select patch boot. Patch the boot.img from the 1.0.3 OTA.
5) Once that’s done, Magisk will spit a patched_boot.img to your Magisk forlder on your internal drive. Copy that over to your PC (or email it to yourself, my PC couldn't see it for some reason).
6) If you don’t already have a working SCATTER file, you’ll need to download one. The only one I’ve found that works is in this ROM: https://www.needrom.com/download/myphone-hammer-axe-m-lte/
7) Grab SP Flash Tool: https://spflashtool.com/ , launch it, load the SCATTER file, either the one from the .zip I provided or the one from the ROM on needrom.com (they’re the same), uncheck all the boxes in the lower half of the SP Flash Tool window except for the boxes to the left of the boot and recovery rows. Click in the “location” field on the right-hand side of the window, a dialog will pop up, choose the your patched boot image, if you’re using the one I provided it will be called “magisk_boot.img”. See attached thumbnail for reference.
8) Make sure that the field above the area with the content to flash is on DOWNLOAD ONLY. Make sure you don’t have and Android devices attached to your PC and upon successful inspection, click “Download”.
9) Turn off your myPhone AXE M LTE. Wait for it to fully power down (there will be an additional vibration after the screen goes blank). Attach the phone to the computer via the USB cable that shipped with it. If the SP Flash Tool is in a good mood, it should start flashing immediately (the bottom strip on the window will turn red, then yellow, then you’ll get a pop-up saying “OK!”). If SP Flash Tool is being an @$$, you may have to unplug the USB cable, hit “Download” again, plug the cable back in and repeat until SP Flash Tool correctly sees your phone.
10) Once you get the “OK!” box, reboot the phone. Go to Magisk Manager. Hit install. Choose the direct install (the third option, bezposrednie). Reboot the phone.
11) You should now be able to install XPOSED, VIPER, etc through the Magisk Manager. For XPOSED, make sure you’re using the MAGISK SPECIFIC APK (downloaded from with the Magisk Downloader, just click on the text describing the module and you’ll get a changelog): https://mega.nz/#!UYwExLjC!AAZi-qho0PHWNjXMzAikbTHmTjaEtYfLlqYeDbeJM14
Note: Everything I've tried except for the DOLBY modules has been working splendidly. If you brick yourself, just reflash the ROM from needrom.com and start over.
Thanks and credit:

I had no idea OTA 1.2.0 existed. Is it Nougat? If so, could you upload it to Mega?
I do not know how. I got my phone back from service (new display), before it was android 4, now it is android 6, working ver:AXE_M_LTE_EN_20170410_1.2.0 core 3.10.72 [email protected] #2

Ok. Mine is still running 1.0.3. I bought it from Biedronka less than a year ago and it already had Marshmallow on it.
Well, I do not know if your procedure works on 1.2.0 and do not want to brick it.

Don't blame you. Hopefully they'll release the OTA you have for the rest of us and then we'll be able to see if the Magisk method works for it too. At the moment my aktualizacja program says that 1.0.3 is the latest OTA.
Files lacking in your upload?
Hello,
thank you for this tutorial. I encountered a few problems:
1) needrom.com requires not only an account, but also a premium one to download the file you linked.
2) Your scatter file was not accepted by my SP flash tool. I used the one I found somewhere else (searching by the CPU model) and it was accepted.
3) After I did this, I couldn't find magisk_boot.img which was supposed to be in your .zip archive. There is no such file there. There is only boot.img, but judging by the size this is an unpatched one you attached in point 4) of your tutorial.
4) I tried generating my own patched_boot.img and succeeded, but it is rejected by SP flash tool (wrong format or sth).
5) Only pair of boot and recovery files that was accepted is in "sig" folder of ur archive. But I have no idea what files are theese and I don't have the guts to try this.
I have no idea what to do now. Could you give me some clues?

Hey.
I'd tried contacting the original uploader of the needrom file but couldn't get through to him, so I've uploaded his rom to mega:
https://mega.nz/#!9UQh3CBK!LqmVOAxfoIstSVAPeypVzsi7G8PGWQWB_j9qcZB_-RI (this is the same rom from step 6)
As for points 2 through 5, sorry for any confusion, I went back and updated my links. This should resolve your difficulties (initial files I used at the time I wrote the guide): https://mega.nz/#!9UQh3CBK!LqmVOAxfoIstSVAPeypVzsi7G8PGWQWB_j9qcZB_-RI There should be three files inside, the scatter I used, the stock recovery and the modded boot image entitled "magisk-boot.img"
Alternate upload (this contains a modded boot for Magisk 16.6 plus the APK for Magisk Manager): https://mega.nz/#!YAQ3BQyS!dJjw-O9pyB7ra2q3qrheo7VFXeyUc4MmW1aqbBqTi6I
Note 1: on Linux I had to flash both the recovery and the modded boot at the same time because it kept hanging when I was only flashing the modded boot. I don't know why, I just troubleshot till it worked and that's why the stock recovery is included in the .ZIP I linked.
Note 2: I have a Hammer Axe M LTE (if you're in Poland, they were sold for 700zl at Biedronka). I don't know if this process will work on any other variant.
This is my MEGA folder for the Hammer: https://mega.nz/#F!hNAxAQBC!B0el82vXo1sKsEdIskoW1g

HwOTA for Huawei Mate10 Lite

HwOTA 7+8 for Huawei Mate 10 Lite1. On the phone, make a backup of all data (since during the upgrade all data will be erased). This is an obligatory condition.
2. Unlock your bootloader: (There´s no way around it (unfortnuately), but after the procedure your device will be locked again, so don´t worry!). The device will make a factory reset, so once again, BACKUP your files!!!!!!!!!!
3. Enable ‘USB debugging’ and ‘OEM Unlock’ option from setting>developer option>. To enable Developer Options, go to About phone and tap the Build Number 7 times.
4. You must download three zip-archives with a full "Full OTA" firmware on which you want to flash (If you look through in the FF (FirmwareFinder), you see there are 4 archives for China and 3 for other locations. You must to download for the version what model and location you will have after the firmware);
5. Add the downloaded files to the folder "HWOTA\Update" and run the .cmd file, it will rename them automatically according to the template:
- update_data_full_public.zip to update_data_public.zip
- update_full_....zip to update_all_hw.zip
- update.zip don't rename
6. After run the universal batch file update.bat in the "HWOTA" folder, which will provide an opportunity to choose the required work option (change firmware/rebranding (change location)). FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS ON THE SCREEN OF THE MONITOR - the entire process is accompanied by prompts.
At the end of the process, everything should work fine... Be prepared, the bootloader will be locked after changing the location or firmware as a FullOTA.
7. If suddenly it turned out "bootloop" - go into the stock Recovery and make wipe.
PS: To change the firmware using the SD card, you need to create a folder "HWOTA" on the SD card and copy three firmware archives with the changed names (see above). In the batch file select item 1 "SDCard HWOTA directory"

For Oreo beta?
No to RNE-L21C432B135 Nougat
I haven't tested it for oreo beta I'm back to MORFUZ V 1.0
Great looking, it works perfectly, I tried to install oreo but it does not work, it always returns to 7.0 and 5.1. At least I managed to redirect the cell. But for the oreo version I think I have to wait because I've tried many but no one works.
I used this on top of the MidgarD ROM I had, now I have a normal 4.5G AND a working face unlock. On Stock ROM, I didn't have the option for the face unlock, and when I installed Elemental ROM and later MidgarD ROM, it didn't work on both of those. This is interesting, isn't it?
I also didn't immediately lose my installed apps, by which I mean until I unlocked the bootloader again.
Bad news: Despite installing Magisk and enabling Magisk Hide after this, I fail the Safety Net check
Thanks man its working fine, my Mate 10 Lite was soft bricked or wont get proper hardware and face unlock, now it works
in start it was problematic for me, wifi would not turn on, phone will periodically show storage full (there was no SD Card in it)
then I restarted 2/3 times, and poof.
Now not only phone is back but it has oreo
Hi!
I tried this, downloaded the rne-l21c432b135 FullOTA from Firmware Finder and followed the instructions.
However, when it boots after finishing then my phone has turned into NEO-L21 and I am not able to get back to RNE-L21 without replacing the software with an older backup. It says also the unit is rooted (Huawei ID says so when I should enter my fingerprint) even though I have formatted the unit.
What am I doing wrong?
EDIT: Sorry, I had used the wrong file (there is one for the RNE-L01 and one for the RNE-L21) and that made all the difference, I am not back to stock!
Thank you so much for the help!
Hi,
Works for RNE-L01C432B135 perfect. I updated without any problem.
But because I don't want to stay with locked bootloader, I made all rooting procedure from the beginning.
That was easy too, because I have backups of every single details (important datas from internal storage, messages, programs and of course /data/hw_init folder, SuperSU-decyrpt)
Thanks again

He refused to support the lite model. I re-wrote his script and improved it. I will not add it. He need to be more flexible.

Oh. Sorry!
Good job then
Where can I find HwOTA for Huawei Honor View10?
HI Guys
my current firmware is RNE-L21C185B110 but i can't find any FULL OTA firmware but only OTA MF (RNE-L21C185B142CUSTC185D001 this is the last available update).
My bootloader is unlocked, unrooted and without TRWP
How can I do to update to last firmware with HwOTA?
ok
To install the update of the B142 you do not necessarily have to use the HWOTA, you simply have to copy the DLOAD folder from the extracted RAR file to your SD, if your SD says that the file is very large ... format the SD to another type of Format..
Formatting a unit SD in exFAT
1. Double-click on Equipment.
2. Right-click on the flash drive or memory card, then select Format.
3. In the File System list, click exFAT.
4. Click on Start.
5. Click OK to begin the format.
After saving the DLOAD folder to the SD.
- Turn off your smartphone
- Now press the volume button up + Volume down + Power button at the same time, so that the update process starts automatically.
- This procedure takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete
- Automatically it will restart ... and you will have installed the update.

I have the same model of L21, the firmware finder doesn't find the update yet. I'm located in Slovenia, if that helps anyhow. Although today I received the April security update B135.
