Hi.. Overall its a very good phone priced very low.. Can play 720 videos without any stutter.. Battery life is as normal as any other smart phone.. Can rely on it for a full day for average users.. however data usage and display drains the battery drastically..

Please help
The stock ROM has a very bad UI. Please develop a ROM for this device. MIUI porting will be most appreciated.

I never use this mobile phone but one of my friend using this mobile phone and he is preety happy with this mobile because it comes with all latest features, it has Li-Ion 1800 mAh battery capacity which will give you nice talktime.

hey dude, plz develop a rom for this phone..

I would if:
1. I had that phone
2. I had the time for it
So sorry mate.
Perhaps you could try porting a ROM from another device?

Small review, big request
I have this phone for a month now.
Overall, I am quite satisfied. It is fast for its price, the screen is nice and battery lasts for a day, which is what I want. I am quite hapy with it. The only drawback is that there are no ROMs for it. There are some people here working abit on that, but so far, nothing tangible.
So please, please develop a good ROM for it.

I bought this phone a few days ago and its quite good for the price.
I have one small problem (not specific to this phone) - in my workplace there's a rule that I can only connect one device to the WiFi so I've connected my Laptop. Now is there any way in which I can use my laptop connected with the Wifi to have internet on my phone as well? Maybe if I connect my phone to the Laptop via usb or something else

Hi,
You need to prepare a wifi-hotspot. You have 2 options
Let your mobile connect to the company wifi and put ON the tethering hotspot on mobile and your laptop can connect to that wifi,
OR prepare a wifi hotspot on your laptop. (You will get many options to do this on google).

Videoplayback works completely fine for me.
Videcalls never were and probably never will be supported in Android.

About the Video playback, I haven't had any problems at all. Maybe try freeing up the Ram?
Video calls are not supported by Android, but if you want to try it out you can use Tango (iOS, Android) or Skype

i really want to buy this device....but i think they need to drop the price a little
but what i am really worried about is everyone is obsessed with the upcoming dual-core phones & i am afraid we wont get a community as good as for the htc desire
what do you think guys? will the desire S get a good community ?

I can't comment on the community (as I can't see the future), but as I've got the phone now I really hope that one forms!
I also share your community concern, but hope that not everyone is obsessed with these larger tablet sized phones. (DHD etc...)
I've not had a single restart and the I've had the phone for over a week.
But, the wifi drop problem is real, I don't use the phone in landscape myself so its not that bad, but, I've seen the wifi signal strength fall when I place the phone on my leg when connected to wifi. I only use wifi on the phone when in my house where the signal strength is very good, so the drop doesn't ever cause me to fall off network. (read the tech radar review conclusion).
Battery life is ok even with multiple widgets and email accounts syncing all day and fair internet usage. currently getting about 20hrs...from full charge.
Still a great phone.

I got my Desire S yesterday for $400. It feels and runs smooth. It's a little small like a wildfire(I have an SGS i9000,Nexus One,Galaxy Spica i5700 and LG Optimus One). Good thing the N1 has almost the exact same screen so I used that as a screen guard. Battery isnt that great. My N1 and Galaxy S lasts for almost three days on normal to heavy use. Im happy with it.
where did you buy it from?
My friend got it for me in Singapore. I sold it. Screen too small and the camera wasn't that good. Got an LG Optimus Black now.

Questions about everything which is not related to Samsung Galaxy R

Hi friends, I opened this thread because i'm in great doubt and i need your help. This one thread will be deleted if it needs. If this thread do not violate the rules you can ask your questions...
My question:
Which galaxy tab to buy P6200 or P6800 ???
Which is better demonstrated, price is not the problem. If you have some links to comparative tests leave them here. Tnx
p.s If I broke a rule tell me I will seek to delete this.

For that you're right, but somewhere I read that P6200 get better grades.
What about the screen, which showed better ? I may pick up p6800 because of 800 x 1280 pixels and in p6200 is 600 x 1024 pixels.
What do you think about this ? can take it for 200$ less than P6800.
The main question is whether the gains ICS ?
http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_xoom_mz601-3834.php
Friends I decided to take P6800 Galaxy tab 7.7, but still need a small help, can someone tell me this: When link is placed on the facebook page is it show like on computer ( to open a image of the link ) or show as on mobile phone ( just link is showing, no image of it ) I hope I was clear .... because on some phones it only show link when it is published( try to publish something on fb page if you have it and see whether they leave only a link without an image ). This is important to me because I advertise sites on fb and if there is no picture in the link fewer people will watch the content and this would be a big problem..... Thank you in advance

I saw that, but to me it is not necessary because I would not use it as a phone, I would use the phone for calls, I would use the internet over the phone via portable wi-fi hotspot, or via wi-fi at home and the rear camera, I really did not need it again because the mobile is with me all the time wait to see what will be the final spec. if the price is 200-250$ would be acceptable. Just wondering build quality for that price. I read somewhere it will be a display of over 200ppi that would be great

The battery life last the usual time.
It all depends how many services you have connected.
So if you use the 3G network, Wifi and GPS all day, it will last 24h.
Otherwise, if you don't use them that much it can last 2 full days, maybe 2 days and a half.
The phone itself is good. Having a quad core phone with 1gb ram just for $199.99 is not for everyone.
The phone is very fast and the display has a nice quality (great resolution).
Some parts could be better, like the wifi and gps antenna. The wi-fi antenna doesn't have the range as it should be..but it is ok.
The phone definitely worth its price.
The factory only produced 200 for the first batch. And they are already almost sold. So if you could buy one you can consider yourself a lucky person.
So it all depends how do you use the phone and how often.
The main battery draining responsible is the huge display it has.
Capacitative buttons?
I was considering getting this phone but am curious to know if it has full home, back, menu buttons, it looks like it just has one.

I'm still waiting on my i9 to arrive but I have a ZP950+ that only has one hard button similar to i9. With the large display I find that the soft buttons don't take up much screen real estate and I rarely use the hard button.

I received my I9 a few days ago and it came installed with Android 4.2.2 but it was difficult to use with just the back button so I installed "I9-XUNI-0410v5ok" 4.2.1 version from http://bbs.ydss.cn. This has the virtual soft keys and is much nicer to use.
Everything is working great except for 3G data. Unfortunately I didn't check this on the original version and I've somehow deleted the backup I made. If anyone has a link to the 4.2.2 software I'd appreciate it.
I've tried a few roms now and the bands available for GSM and UMTS have been different so I guess it's a firmware issue. I need to be able to use WCDMA-GSM-900 to get 3G and faster data. If anyone knows how the available bands are set please let me know. The engineer mode has the one I need greyed out.
Apart from the above issues this is a very nice phone and is better value (~$80 cheaper) I think than the ZP950+ that I also have.

Great to hear from someone who has got one, can I ask how is the GPS reception and general WIFI/mobile signal strength? The MTK6577 phones had problems is the 6589 any better?
Thanks
Si
GPS is really quick once it's setup to use EPO and GPS-A. Just yesterday I was surprised that it locked onto 8 satellites in 11 seconds indoors. WIFI/mobile signal strength are same or better than other phones I have(or had). I've never had a 6577 phone so I can't compare.
Did anyone buy their I9 from goophone.hk? If so could you please register on http://bbs.goophone.hk/ and register your phone on there and download the latest I9 4.2.2 software.
You may need to use Google translate but it's on this page: http://bbs.goophone.hk/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=6345&extra=page%3D1%26filter%3Dtypeid%26typeid%3D65%26typeid%3D65

Dont know about OTG, but wifi signal is very good (better than my old sony xperia sola). i had problem with GPS, did a hell lot of tweaking and reading nothing helped... then stumbled upon a forum saying that SMS car can cause problems, and by removing card>starting phone without sms card>shutdown>reinserting card solved my GPS problem...
about GPS fix... it seems its ok, nothing special. just in the middle i suppose.

I have the phone. I think it is very good for its price :good:. Wifi reception very good, GPS normal, USB-OTG is not there. The only minor thing is the camera which does not make clear pictures and is only 5MP I think, although it stores pictures in as much as 12MP, but those are not sharp.
Camera quality JK11?
Thanks for the remarks about this phone, interested in buying it perhaps. Could someone pls upload some photo samples of it to judge camera quality? Or describe how photo quality compares to a mainstream digital camera?
Thanks!
Does anybody know a valid firmware (rom) or kernel, or modem,..... for JK11 that it get better wifi signal than stock rom? It spents a lot of time to load web pages.

Your post is a little jumbled, but it seems like you're asking if your PC can receive a wifi signal even if it doesn't have built-in wifi. The answer is simply no. You can go to the store and snag a little wifi dongle or something like that and install the software to make it pick up a signal, but as is... it's not gonna pick up anything. Hope that helps.
