[Q] do games stream at 720p or 1080p and downscale? - Shield Q&A

do we have to have our games set to 720p for it to line up correctly on the shield, or will our GPU's do this automatically? or does the shield do this on the receiving end?

It should be automatic.

sweet, that will be good. it would be annoying to switch every time...

Thank you I've been wondering this for a while. Will it still run in 1080p on our computers? I'm hoping it will downscale to 720p so it won't get my GPU too hot.

The game switches to 720p so it can have better settings than if it were driving a higher resolution.

Perfect! So should I also install GeForce Experience so that non-Steam games will work as well?

if my understanding is correct you will need GFE for streaming no matter what. however non-steam games should just be added to steam if im understanding agrabren correctly. they just have to be able to run in full screen.

i would like the same thing, instead of naming this app RAM Slider, you could make it into multiple things like Battery, RAM, Temperature etc.

I'm brand new to the world of Android (I'm into my PC Overclocking though). I want to play around with my ONE S and my girlfriends Sensation XE this weekend.
For example

Dpi lowers the Res so you can fit a lot more on screen
Standard dpi is 240. I've lowered to 195 at current. So my pic illustrates the app draw.as you can see i fit a lot more on. It basically shrinks everything so an app opens for example like xda for instance..where as you would see 4 threads now you might see seven.
Definetly worth it
Does not work well with sense roms.I'm using a non sense rom.works better

Guys - try Googling Samsung Game Hub and you'll find:

I haven't looked too closely yet, but I'm guessing if you sign up there, you can get the working app on your phone...

Pretty decent time waster. You basically collect monsters, evolve them, battle, etc..
The play store says it is incompatible with the One X but I tested and it works 100% (I did not test it on a sense rom though so that may be where the problem is). Play won't let you download it so apk is attached for anyone who wants to try!

Thanks, used your referral code. I'm Krunch in game. I'm seeing a lot of graphics clipping though. Sometimes it makes proceeding impossible until they adjust themselves. I'm currently on CM10, JB style.

For the clipping, I have force gpu rendering turned off in developer settings, maybe try that?
