I just bought xperia L today , and i found that my Xperia l Camera , i move around my phone , i see lags between and it's not just lag but really lag.
When i go into video recording mode , i move around my phone too while recording , it is really really lag too it didnt move smoothly at 30fps but it seems like on its 10fps ! Does anyone experience this too ??

Dude these are some problems with the camera XL. Update the firmware if you haven't till now. Video recording is pretty bad but works decently for me at least. Still camera is good

The frame rate of any camera is low in low light conditions.
Try moving it outside your house where lots of light is present, you will notice the smoothness.

I can't seem to get good quality when recording video on the xperia tipo, it's the cm10 fxp221 build.
I only get 240 p or something like that, it sucks, and i have seen better videos with this phone

I tried Camera JB+ but it can't record video now, it records green screens : (
Well the photos and the pano' are okay, but horrible vid,.
I take no credits for this app/mod. Found a camera app from lenovo flagship set while searching on xperia z forum which worked perfectly on most of devices . It has option upto 13mp for the device it supports. Takes sharper image , less noise and hdr with super gallery with many effects.

I tried it on my two device galaxy s2 runnung stock Jb and HTC one S . On both devices it working perfectly with less noise and sharper image

On both devices hdr and all function working but when clicking panaroma and burst mode fc may be missing lib. But i don't need both functions as long as it takes great pics.

Is it a software or hardware thing? I mean the noise and shutter delay and video/picture quality. Do you think it can fix via software update in the future? Or we should accept rightnow that the sony advertisment of XL is not true.
I also compared the front facing camera of samsung galaxy s3 mini and Xperia L. The s3 mini has better quality when it comes to low light.
It's a software thing. Many people said that there is a diffrence between quality of photos on dirrent software update's. Defently Sony will fix it.

Yup I tried different 3rd party camera apps but they all lag on low light. on .17 this is fixed
Ahh. I will wait for the new update. I hope this camera problem in .17 will be fix. Do you still using .36 fw now?

Use snap cam. It's much better than the stock one. Just change some settings manually and you're good to go. Also the autofocus work well.

I haven't used cm11 so can't tell. Stock works good for me.
Try adjusting the white balance for different lighting situations. Use ISO 100 or 200 if you are clicking outside with enough lighting.
Also you can try using different saturation and contrast levels till you get a perfect picture. I can't tell you the exact values since these vary with lighting.

Even I tried some but they didn't work for me either. Their working depends on the framework itself and thus they don't work with other devices most of the time.

Improved Camera but bug with Flash exposure
Just updated my Xperia L to 4.2 and overall I'd say the camera is improved. Focusing is faster and low light pics without flash come
out very nice however there is an issue with flash exposure wherein all pics clicked with flash come out very under exposed even if exposure compensation is set at +1 or even +2 for that matter. The correct exposure is displayed in the viewfinder while composing but the saved image is severely under exposed. Have yet to discover any other bugs. Hope this bug is sorted out asap.

I'm disappointed that the status bar toggles are still like they were in 4.1, I wanted like they're in 4.2 AOSP.

Yes it is. Gcam is working but Sony Album isn't.

Gcam works with Wyroczen buffer fix, unfortunately xiaomi doesn't care about their users asking for camera2api level 3 support ..

I got the update to android Q yesterday. This is full review for that update.
1. Performance: Performance is the same and in some cases Android Q is a bit faster and better.
2. Battery: The Screen on time is almost the same for me(only few minutes worse)
3. Main Camera: The quality is the same on Stock app. Haven't tested GCam
4. Front Camera: The quality is a bit worse and yellow on Stock app. Haven't tested GCam
5. Storage: I had the same free space on Q as i had on P
6. Gaming: Same performance and a bit better FPS on some games.
7. Boot-up Time: Almost if not the same as Pie
8. App Launching Time: Quite faster in some cases.

I noticed small lags and studders when opening the recents menu and when i opened a folder
General Performance is fine but the poor front camera performance and the small lags
annoy me a lot. I will most probably flash LineageOS 17.1 Android Q from "coderz" to resolve

I installed the update. Results:
Camera quality is the same. I didn't experienced that yellowish on front so the front camera I have the same quality as before. Performance is little bit higher. More smooth system responses. I consider this update as great. No bugs I noticed
