Hi,
Anyone could port newest Google Camera for our ICS p920?
Similar like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53291940
Will be cool to have Lens Blur.
Other thing why LG developers don't release new version of |Smart Focus| that would be very powerfull tool to emulating DSLR focus.
More easier to using than Lens Blur of Google Camera

[Q] Camera/camcorder apps

This is more of a "state your opinion" thread, but what do you guys feel is the best camera/camcorder app? I currently use the integrated camera app in MDJ's CM7 build and do not like it at all
I haven't taken a look at whats available lately but the last one I used regularly was camera 360, it's still being updated too which is nice
camera 360 is great, the best in my opinion, but the fact that theres adds on a paid version and its saving advertisement and crap/spam to my sd card has brought me to uninstall it. Anyone know a way, other than running one of the firewall apps, to block this app from using data or doing this crap?
Why is there ads on a paid version?
Geez...
Have you tried something like Adfree? http://www.appbrain.com/app/adfree-android/com.bigtincan.android.adfree
Oh and the MIUI camera is pretty good and it takes widescreen pics too so the pics fill up the screen.
Somebody posted it in the milestone forums as camera.apk i believe.
I ma going to try a couple and let you know
+1 for MIUI. Its the best I've used out of any market apps or any camera I've used from other roms. It has some very nice options to play with.

vignette is the best camera app i used so far.
camera 360 would be 2nd best.
and if you want some effects then i recommend fx camera.
My vote is the Miui camera app as well....There was an update on one of the....well lets say its not on the market place...... It is a very nice update allows for anti shake, burst, color effect, delay snap, and silence, etc. Its my daily camera app.

[Q] Camera app

Hi all, I've wondered if you guys use some more "professional" camera apps.
I really liked Sense camera with a lot of options like manual macro, manual iso, etc.
Right now I'm on CM9 and don't really enjoy stock app... I've got the feeling that it has too little options and takes pictures of worse quality.
Do you have any suggestions which app would do better?
The Sense camera app relies on the Sense framework, so installing that one isn't an option. You could give Camera FX a shot.
Thanks for help, I've been using FXCamera for some time, but suddenly on Market I've found CameraPRO and I think I'll go with this one. Anyone tried it??

Which Camera App Do You Use?

The on-going debate about the S3's camera when using Touchwiz vs. an AOSP ROM made me wonder about the camera apps itself. Which camera app do you primarily use? Coming from the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, I actually miss the AOSP camera app (where you have the touch-wheel that lets you adjust settings on the fly). The stock TW camera app isn't quite as intuitive (e.g. to change white balance, I have to press the Options button and scroll down through a litany of settings just to change it).
I've been tempted to try OTHER camera apps, like Camera MX. Does anyone have a preference?
Snap camera. Easy. Love it. There is a thread here somewhere where the developer is active in it.

I had been using this camera https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.moblynx.camerajbplus&hl=en until getting onto 4.3.1, whenever I use a 3rd party camera, it's fails and then no app can connect to the camera, I have clear the cache and dalvik cache to get the stock camera to work. But if the the jb+ camera works for you I'd recommend it. I use this camera when I'm not in a rush https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flavionet.android.camera.pro&hl=en (there's a lite version too I think) It just gives you complete control of your camera. It's great for arty fartsy stuff but if you need to take a quick photo it might not be the best the app.
Stock Camera
I use the stock camera, but I just downloaded VSCO Cam, I'll see if its any good.
sspencer10
KITKAT 4.4 From the best! sspencer10 best rom for 4.4 try it out hes doing a great work on that room 4.4 camera is running very smooth i love it but i alwayz keep my stock camera hehe
Currently using stock AOSP 4.4 camera, but I have withdrawals from TW camera, and dreams of the Note 3's camera. Anyone know of a camera the has slow/fast motion, panorama, multi-shot, and HDR modes?
camera fv-5 excellent. lots of options but perfect Samsung note camera that's on most roms

Actually I completely agree with you. It is fairly childish but honestly Note 2 on CM11 this app works better than the currently alternative. Hence my excitement
Missing options
i do have an issue, there's no panorama, and no photo sphere, even tho i have this options on my cm11 camera
Apparently Google is leaning towards "dumbing things down" by removing the more complex capabilities in some of their native apps by making them so simplistic as to literally become "point and shoot," especially with respect to this particular camera app. But when you think about it, the overwhelming majority of smartphone owners want just that: a device that works, that's simple to use, and doesn't require a huge set of menu options to just "point and shoot" and get good/useful results so, I suppose it's a winner in that manner for sure.
Tried it a few times, doesn't seem particularly special or useful over some other camera apps like Focal or others. Doesn't seem to do HDR natively and there's no option to enable it so that relegates this app to "ok, I tried it and then I uninstalled it" status for me.
For me its not better than LG G2 modded cam app.
The issue with me is that the CM11 Camera app gets stuck too often hence this is a great alternative
It is good, the only problem for me is when the flash is on and I tap to focus and than to take a picture theres a lag of about 5 seconds. Anyone have this problem? Also no HDR mod, and my camera have that option.
I'm having FC on settings option, on carbon kitkat in Samsung i9070.
love the lens blur mode. Any more cam apps that have this option?
I like it.
Yes the settings option does FC the app but honestly at this current moment, its better than the default camera app.
actually, the only setting i would change is 16:9 ratio, nothing else.
if some1 knows a shortcut for this...?
Good to know, may need to try this out, with custom roms i found a few the camera app always frooze or crashed

I've tried to change the settings thru the preferences files saved in \\data\data\com.googleCamera\shared_prefs\, but I couldn't change the resolution to the max, only the grid, flash, etc.
I want to change the "photosphere" and the "lens blur" to max resolution.
Any Idea?
let me try
Going to download it now and give a try in my grand i9082
I'll be trying it out on my Galaxy S2 with PACROM 4.4.2
Someone minds uploading it somewhere and sharing the link, I can find it on play store but it says its not available in my country I find that weird as its just a camara application...
Thanks in advance...

Really loving the recommendations to turn the phone sideways when recording video, to push people away from filming the horrors of portrait video.
tested in my droid x. somehow force close when i hit the setup menu.

[REQUEST] Gcam for Moto Z4

There doesn't seem to be much going on in this forum
It's a shame because I'm loving my Moto Z4! The camera could be a little better though. It's just a little soft and lacks detail. I downloaded the Gcam port for the Moto G7 Plus and while it works for taking photos (with substantially better fine detail than the stock app), many things aren't working e.g. reviewing a photo takes you to the photos app rather than giving a preview of the photo like the stock app.
Is there anyone out there much cleverer then I who is willing and able to port the Gcam app for the Z4?
Thanks!
There you go man: https://www.dropbox.com/s/h2piu4itiv8uftn/MGC_6.2.030_StableAwbVersion_V16.apk?dl=0
Best version I could find out there for Motorola devices, also has plenty of options.
Cheers, I'll give it a razz
Wow! It's working perfectly on Moto Z2 Force. Thx!!!
Just found another one that has no issues at all and works better.
Just disable Force Super Res Zoom in settings:
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/F1v9.5_6.2.030.apk
On the Moto Z2 Force it works with Super Res Zoom On too.

Not working well on my Moto Z4. It freezes upon launch but eventually catches up.

Did you clear data on it? Mine has no issues except slow motion.
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-parrot043/#apk1156
This is the best version of GCAM port that i found that doesnt crash on my Z4 ....
Bugs:
Night Mode doesnt work in landscape as expected (not sure why this happens). It also defaults to astrophotography (you can turn this off in settings). Works fine for selfie and portrait style pics.
Slow motion doesnt work.
*Edit* Video on *back* cam doesnt work but does on the front -- moto camera app takes better video anyhow .
Enjoy!
The lastest version of the above gcam project works fantastic with the Moto Z4. Video and night capture works flawlessly. Only thing that doesn't work is slowmotion.

I found this quite fine: https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-Nikita/f/dl1/
According to this reddit post, P-Z-D's version (GCam 8.2) also works and slow motion is working too:
