No, jelly bean (only for boost mobile is ics).
You have to look at the Software Number.
For ics you can use Supercid and Facepalm S-off (except boost mobile).

All devices now supported
Boost (k2_cl) cricket (k2_plc_cl) gsm lte(k2_ul) and gsm only (k2_u)
All one Sv users can install this, it only takes five minutes. Boost mobile is still in testing, but it fully works.
Thanks beaups and fuses. Without them this wouldn't be possible at all.

The moon has shine on me tonight.
Thank you, very much. Took me quite a few times to get the correct criteria
Like to thanks oldsplatterhead for his stock rom.
Thanks again.
P.s when HTC releases 4.2 obviously a new hboot will come with it, wonder if moonshine s-off can be carried over? Guess it's too early to ask.... but I have faith it will be cracked.

Install custom roms
Hi, is there a change that something can go wrong using this method? Because I have used it after htc dev-unlock an rooting, and have S-off, but my phone doesn't install a custom rom. I understand that you have to be S-off to be able to install custom roms, right?

If you see, that you are S-Off, you should be S-Off, i think.
And you don't need to be S-Off to flash custom Roms, you also can flash with S-On, but you need to flash boot.img with fastboot then.
As i have seen your phone info, you have hboot 2, that means you had already jb installed. So why do you want to use the stock, odexed rom instead?

I want that because my phone acts weird. It doesn't remember whether I want to use my launcher or Sense, if I put a widget on my homescreen the next day there's a grey area where the widget was, etc. So I thought if I can install a stable rom that might be over.

Have you tried to do a factory reset?
Sounds a little bit like a default (with data partition).

No, I haven't done that. I can with a guide root my phone and tablet, but I don't know what happens when I do something like that. Do I have to get rooted then again, or doesn't that change all that stuff like rooting and unlocking?

It doesn't change unlocking or S-Off. It deletes all user data, all you brought to your phone (not external sd, internal sd i'm not sure), but not things in system.
It sets the software itself to the point where the phone came to you.

Worked perfect!! Nice job.

You are already on JB, so there is no real profit for you, cause mine is not modded.
Here a quote from another forum (thanks to wetbiker):

Make sure you have removed HTC sync from you computer. Also, make sure USB debugging is enabled in developer settings on your phone.
If you have HTC sync, make sure that you reboot the pc and the phone so that everything is reset and the files are completely removed from the pc.
Unzip the Moonshine zip that you downloaded and place it in a folder. With your phone fully booted, plug in USB and connect to pc. Click on the distiller and follow the prompts. Also, make sure you have a good charge on your phone because it'll take it between 5 and 10 minutes.
Also, if you are running a custom kernel, you will need to reinstall it after you have finished with Moonshine.
Edit: disable anti-virus and run the distiller as administrator.
Hope this helps.

Hi.
Quick question, I'm trying to help someone back in France with this.
If you're on JB (official OTA update) and do this procedure, will you :
- keep your data as they were just before ?
- keep your rom as it was before (ie : will you be able to install the next OTA updates without any trouble) ?
In one word : does this process just does S-OFF or does it change anything else ?
Thanks a lot !

[How To] Flash ICS ROMs with S-ON Unlocked

This only really applies to those with S-ON Unlocked, HBOOT 1.45.0013. Once we figure out how to get S-OFF on all phones, this guide will become unneeded! In the meantime, this is here for those of us that are S-ON but want to play with ICS.
THIS TUTORIAL ALSO APPLIES TO ANY CUSTOM ROMS THAT REQUIRE A CUSTOM KERNEL.
If you're S-ON LOCKED, go HERE and UNLOCK your phone!
I'm assuming you have
Fastboot set up as a PATH, or copied to the folder you are extracting boot.img to
HTC Drivers installed
Clockwork Recovery
1.) Grab your ROM of choice.
2.) Open up your ROM in 7zip or another file compression program.
3.) Extract the "boot.img" file that's inside to a folder.
4.) Open the command prompt and go to the folder you extracted the "boot.img" file too.
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
"cd" in the command prompt stands for "change directory", so you will need to type that before the path to where your boot.img file is located.
5.) Reboot your phone into fastboot mode. To do this, turn off your phone by holding down the "Volume down" and "Power" buttons until the fastboot screen arrives. There should be three Androids on skateboards on the bottom.
6.) Press the power button once on the "fastboot" option. Your phone should now connect to the computer and it should say "fastboot usb" on your phone.
7.) In the command prompt, type the following command:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
8.) Assuming you've done everything properly, this will overwrite the existing kernel on your phone with the kernel that comes with your ROM.
9.) Now, reboot your phone into Recovery. At this point, flash your ROM by flashing the zip file.
10.) Reboot and enjoy your new ROM!
Thanks to Blue6IX for telling me how to do this and to yogi2010 for making me realize I forgot to tell people to actually flash the ROM itself. Figured I'd make a guide for those that didn't know about it since it's probably hidden somewhere underneath pages and pages of comments on other ROMs.
probably worth stickying for a while till we get to know how to downgrade to an s-offable state?
Amazing work guys.
I'm also lucky the phone I purchased off Craigslist was root able.

Will this method work for all of the ROMs we have here for the mt4gs? One I have been looking at is Bulletproof. If I use the same technique you've explained, will I get the same end result?
Just got a MT4GS a couple days ago. It was updated to 1.45.0013. I read up to see that it couldn't be S-OFF'd or rooted due to locked bootloader..."oh crap!". Searched more and ran into this... "hells yeah!" Worked like a charm! Now running Pyr-o-ice desensed...awesome stuff! Thanks a lot!

All of the ICS roms (and all of the custom GB roms as far as i know) are rooted here, and include the 'su' binary and superuser apk. That's what counts, so short answer:
yes

We'll nail it eventually. It's a tough nut to crack, but at least along the way we found a temporary fix.
We can now go back to S-ON from S-OFF, and the standard response to how to do that for the longest time was 'it's not possible'. Anything is possible with the right amount of effort invested. I am sure we'll come up with some more goodies along the way...some are brewing even now.
I've made S-ON to S-OFF my life's work until it's done, and have mostly given up on everything else I was working on to achieve that end.
There are a few other devs who have been spending a lot of time on this as well, and we are working together and unraveling the issue one layer at a time.
We'll get it, but it's the toughest nut to crack - the manufacturer is doing whatever they can to prevent us from being able to do so...there is a specific effort to block us from doing it that must be overcome.
Meantime, since we don't have a real RUU for this phone on any software version, the search for one came back with the leaked copy of the OTA as an official signed HTC package. ( To me it seemed like a consolation prize after the exhausting search for an RUU...didn't get one, but got at least this )
I'm glad someone went ahead and made a guide for people to use it to at least get unlocked since HTC broke the OTA they actually pushed over-the-air, this package is what it was supposed to be.
Hang in there, we'll get all you guys S-OFFed as soon as we can!
Y'all are doing a kickass job man. I'm sure once this phone is all the way opened up and dev see that, it will gain more publicity. I unlocked my phone with the htcdev.com, but haven't loaded up a rom yet. All I've really done is uninstalled a few bloatware apps, but can't wait until I can have total access to everything and see what this badboy has to offer.

ok.. noob question, can I flash boot after flashing custom rom?
First off: Thanks are due across the board, as well as to the man who made the .exe Noob-proof app it helped a little bit and worked great
Second: Okay.. I recieved a warranty replacement..new HBoot. following this guide I did all required.
UPON using fastboot command to boot the boot.img it reboots and starts to boot up PyroIce 1.1.2..... which you say isnt right since i need to flash the ROM again in Recovery..
If i Do that it wont boot again and hangs on the MT4GS splash screen, i think it is actually due to the fact that i also flash the adreno drivers patch, but i am not going to try and tinker with it.
bottom line, working... thanks so much guys

I've seen that boot.img is where the kernels are, and I've seen that to flash an ICS ROM in that thread that in order to flash an ICS ROM on a MT4GS you need to flash a kernel after the ROM, in the form of a boot.img.
So I'll say, hesitantly, "yes".
Unless, of course, you meant something else. That, or, I misunderstood something somewhere...

I don't know much about the whole ROM thing and Android in general. I come from G1 land, where everything was easy . You just flash the ROM and you're done. However, if I understand correctly, here you just flash the ROM you want (ICS whatever) and then the kernel (boot). Did I miss something along the way?
I would think that the kernel should be no different conceptually than the one in Linux (or Windows, or OS-X, or...). It's the interface between the software packages ("Android", plus the apks, framework, all that) and the hardware. So really, I don't see why any ROM shouldn't work as long as your kernel has everything the ROM needs to interface with the hardware and the framework has everything the ROM needs to interface with the software (or the software with the kernel). Do I understand correctly?
[EDIT]
I just reread that... you booted the hboot via fastboot instead of writing it to the phone first... which I guess is smarter than what I did -- cus if it won't work at least you don't brick it that way. Do you have a link to the howto for that? I'm sure it's simple and easy, I just have never done it...
[/EDIT]

Easy way to s-off!!!

Hi mates,
i succesfuly made my international one s s4 supercid and s-off with facepalm. after that i flashed maximushd and that worked flowlesly. great rom! don´t know what was in my mind to command in fastboot "fastboot write secureflag 3". there my problems begun. i searched erverywhere with no solution to get it back s-off. you can´t downgrade hboot 2.16 with ruu. method getting it supercid, a requirement for facepalm, didn´t worked too. so i decided to sent it in to a repair center to fix my problem. my wife asked me to s-off her htc one. i searched in the one forum and found rumrunners s-off. on their website i noticed they are supporting a lot of htc devices, including my one s. i gave it a shot and boom! i´m s-off again!
it´s a universal tool. download the file, extract it and run the soju.exe. follow instructions and you will be s-off!
link to rumrunner.us:
http://rumrunner.us/
all credits to them!!!! thank you guys!!!
a Little how to:
make sure all your drivers are installed.
1. adb: in settings-> development-> usb debugging must be checked! when you connect your device there must be a notification "usb debugging" connected.
2. boot into bootloader, fastboot is highlighted blue. press power butten. now you have "fastboot" red highlighted. connect phone and must turn into red "fastboot usb".
3. htc sync manager must be uninstalled.
4. your device must be rootet.
5. click the link above and read carefully the requirements. better two times!
6. download universal file rumrunner_HTC_0.5.0.zip. and extract it anywhere.
7. reboot phone and pc.
8. go to settings-> power-> disable fastboot. also disable Display sleep.
9. disable any anti virus software and make sure you are connected to the internet with your pc.
10. connect phone to pc, go to settings-> development and uncheck usb debugging than check it again to make sure the pc recognized your device.
11. run soju.exe
Thanks, this worked for me as well. TMOBUS 3.16.401.8, 2.15 HBoot... facepalm and moonshine both would not work after SEVERAL attempts. Rumrunner worked first try, even in Windows.

to install the RUU, only run with the phone connected and you? I have already installed the HTCSync...
I also want to update because my phone sometimes gets no signal and I have to put it in airplane mode and then to remove the airplane mode if you hold the cue!!!
Sorry for my bad English
You actually need the 2.15 firmware to stop your problems, but it's a good idea to run the RUU first.
To run the RUU you just connect the phone in fastboot mode and run the RUU program in Windows. Uninstall HTC Sync Manger (leave drivers installed) because it can interfere. Make sure no other programs are running and make sure screen saver/hibernation is turned off. Once the RUU is completed you need to flash the 2.15 firmware package too. You'll find that in Turge's stock Sense 5 ROM thread.

Hey Guys, I too have downloaded the RUU specified above, and I am curious if it will work as well.
I'm in the same boat as OP,
Difference is I'm: HBOOT-1.09.0000
I'm very nervous as the last time I ran a RUU file I was S-OFF and SuperCID and managed to hard brick my phone.
Now I'm S-OFF and SuperCID so I'm guessing I can do this? Thanks in advance guys, really appreciate your time, hope the OP gets his problem sorted before I - sorry for the hijack.
EDIT: Do I need to have the HTC Sync Manager installed? I do not have it installed currently and I downloaded and installed drivers located here:

To run the RUU you just connect the phone in fastboot mode and run the RUU program in Windows. Uninstall HTC Sync Manger (leave drivers installed) because it can interfere. Make sure no other programs are running and make sure screen saver/hibernation is turned off. Once the RUU is completed you need to flash the 2.15 firmware package too. You'll find that in Turge's stock Sense 5 ROM thread.

Will try Thank install the RUU, I was just a little iffy because I can read comments from people who have run the RUU and the phone gives them some kind of mistake and not finish installing, with my current phone settings I can run the RUU safe ?
I was thinking of installing the RUU 3.18 as my phone is AT & T (RUU_EVITA_UL_JB_45_S_Cingular_US_3.18.502.6_Radio_0.24p.32.09.06_10.130.32.34_release_signed_With_Partial)

You're good to go. The people who bricked their phone hadn't done their research, they probably had s-on.
S-on + SuperCID + jb RUU = brick.
You have s-off so you're fine.

add that to turn on the phone immediately had taken the signal, something that had not to

Sensation not turning on

So I just got my Sensation today(unlocked, Bell version z710a) and followed this guide(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631861) up to step 4A. The problem is, I forgot to enable smartflash(step 3A) before flashing the rom(same rom attached in step 4A). Now my phone won't boot up and I keep getting a message saying, "touch input stopped"(included pics of what it looks like).
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And this message keeps popping up. Sometimes I'll remove the battery and turn it back on and this will come up:
And I will be able to go through the normal setup with the message popping up every 2 seconds. But as soon as I press "finish" after going through the setup, the phone will still not boot up properly and get stuck on either the htc logo or a blank screen.
I would truly appreciate any help, I've tried wiping data and rebooting as well, and I have no idea what to do now. Thanks!
Try running an RUU

did you not forget to flashing boot.img too after installing the new rom with manual flashing.. after you know it's that you already forgot to enabled smartflash form 4ext recovery..?
Go to recovery ( remove battery , insert battery , hold volume down and power button )
Wipe data cache ,
Enable smart flash and flash Rom again

I've tried that as well, but get no results. I also tried relocking bootloader and unlocking again, but i still end up and the lockscreen and go through setup wizard, only to end up stuck at the htc logo.
I tried doing RUU also, but I have a Bell Sensation, which is 3.32.666.13, and there isn't an ruu file available for that.
Any other ideas?

Ok, I tried wiping data and enabling smartflash, then reflashing the rom, but now when i try to boot it up, it won't go past the white screen with the htc logo, no quietly brilliant coming up.
Anyone else have an idea of what I can try? I'm getting desperate now, nothing seems to be working.

Can you link me to one? I can't tell which ones are z710a and which ones aren't.
If you can find one on here that might work for me: http://www.tsar3000.com/Joomla/index...oads&Itemid=98
or here: http://www.shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Pyramid
or anywhere else you might be able to find one.
Again I have a bell sensation 3.32.666.13. I was able to find a zip file here: http://www.androidruu.com/?developer=Pyramid (3rd one down)
but its a zip file, not exe, so not really sure what thats for. Thanks so much for the help!

Thanks, but I think that is the older version(from gingerbread I think) and after I searched around I think that one will not work. I may be wrong, so you are certainly welcome to take a closer look whenever you have tim after getting home.
Thanks so much for taking the time to help me! At this moment, my phone will not boot up past the white screen with the htc logo(no quietly brilliant coming up) and I am getting very desperate. I wiped everything that I possibly could in recovery, reflashed the rom after enabling smartflash, and my result is being stuck on the same htc screen. Am I bricked beyond repair? I am seriously getting very scared now. Anyways thanks for helping, any other ideas are welcome.

I was following this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631861
and went up to step 4A, and used the same rom linked to dropbox download in that step.
Problem was, I forget to enable smart flash before flashing(step 3A), so I followed extra step 1 in that same thread, which is flashing boot.img, but that didn't work either.

HTC one x plus s-on to s-off firewater problem!

Hello guyz, i have problem on my htc one x plus.
I installed cm11 nightly for my on my x plus from here:
http://get.cm/get/qG0
After that my imei has gone blank along with the baseband version.
I did a bit of research and found that by using ruu, u can get the imei back.
So for that i needed turn my s-on to s-off by the foll commands:
adb reboot
if i am not mistaken, while the phone is rebooting i am supposed to put the 2nd command:
adb wait-for-device push firewater /data/local/tmp
The problem here that I think is the phone reboots so fast that i guess the command fails to execute and i get an error saying :
error protocol fault (no status)
So, how to turn off fastboot or quickboot in cm11? There is absolutely no option in the phone. I tried battery settings,power settings, everything!
is there a way to disable fastboot/quickboot in bootloader mode?
plz help!

I don't think you need to be S-on to run a RUU. At least back in my HTC evo 4g LTE days, you didn't. Try running the RUU as S-off.

I found a few, here's one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2004928
Also, just search through the development here:

And I believe this is the problem mentioned in your first post. S-off tool will only work on stock based ROM.

There is no stock rom for asia !
Also, is there any way to disable fastboot/quickboot from the bootloader? coz if that's possible,it would solve everything!

I'm not sure, or willing to say, yes to that. I don't suppose you made a backup of stock before flashing custom, did you? This is why you always make a backup of stock.
