[APP] App sales notifier app "You've Got Sales" updated - Other Tools & General Discussion

Hi all,
I just pushed an update to the Play Market for the "You've Got Sales" sales notifier app. As I'm sure you noticed, Google is now forcing you to use Google Wallet vice Checkout from this point forward to see all your app sales data. I had to make some changes so the app worked properly with the Wallet interface. Let me know if you run into any issues. Enjoy
Here's the direct link to the new version:

[Question] How To Contact Google for App Support

How do you contact Google for Android App support? I have had issues with the search and youtube apps since the last update.
The FC issue in com.motorola.process.home when using search from the app xrawer is known about. I have also been having issues with the sound on my MoPho quitting after watching a video. As soon as I uninstalled the last uodate to youtube the issue has gone away.
What's tge deal? Does every update from google lately break something? I can't find anything for support other than a forum.
I'm a MoPho-er
From what I know, their support is pretty robust, but they don't provide support if you have a rooted phone. The main support, they use like an email system a-la' "submit a ticket", and they also use a phone support system that required you to put in your info and the system calls you directly. Try support.google.com and check the links that you're having an issue with specifically, but I think the paid services, stuff like Market/Google Play, AdWords, etc. are the only ones that have an actual support team. They don't really support free services like YouTube or Gmail.

Us play store accessed from uk finally

I noticed many people had had trouble recently from accessing the US Play Store from other countries, after apps such as Market Access and Market Enabler stopped working. I also found that people had trouble using VPNs.
I finally managed to find Pandora, a US-only app in the Play Store, meaning that it worked.
Essentially, I think Google can detect whether you've paid for apps already from a non-US source already on your current Google account. So basically I created a new Google account, moved my IP to a US server using Tunnelbear (available in Google Play), and emulated my SIM to T Mobile US using Market Access (just to be safe). I then went through the normal process of clearing data and force stopping Google Play Services and Google Play Store. Then I opened Play Store and it automatically went to my primary Google account.
All I had to do thereafter was switch to my newly created account and I searched Pandora and found it. I also searched Hulu Plus and found it.
I can also confirm that you can get Google Wallet from the Play Store via this newly created Google account. I emulated my SIM to Sprint US, VPN to the US of course, and edited my build.prop to emulate a Galaxy Nexus. I searched Wallet on the Play Store after clearing data and force stopping and downloaded the latest version. I lost all sound from my phone after emulating a Galaxy Nexus (I am on the i9300), but I found that sound was fine after restoring my build.prop and installing Google Wallet. It now works fine with my original build.prop but just make sure you install it when you're still emulating a Galaxy Nexus.
Hope this helps at least some people.

Thanks !
I'm still trying to find a method for accessing the us store from my old account though....
Would be great if Google would adopt the Apple - Itunes system and allow us to change through any country we desire...

Yeah I know that would be ideal.
Also I can't find any way to access it through my primary Google account. But I'm not too worried about that because it only takes a matter of seconds to switch accounts. I just have to make sure I always use my original account for UK apps and new one for US apps.
Perhaps you could try wiping all payment information from your current Google account? But I don't know if that will work because Google will probably still have a backlog.

[APP] Unchained 1.0: the unofficial Play Market client

Unchained 1.0: the unofficial Play Market client.
The core purpose of this app is to allow you to use Play Market without leaking any private information to Google.
Unchained will:
Allow you to browse the list of apps installed on your device, see new app versions available on Play Store, download and install them;
Work alongside official Play Market client as well as on device with no gapps at all;
Search the market to find and install new apps.
Unchained will not:
Install paid apps, even if you legally paid for it;
Leak any data to Google or anyone else;
Evolve into full-fledged Play Market client.
Require root permissions to install or operate.
Play Market account
To use Unchained you need to provide market account details. Use full gmail address and password, as well as android id. To get android id on a working android device dial *#*#TALK#*#* in stock dialer and look for "aid" or "androidid". More details on finding android id here, an app to get android id for you is here. The word is out there the android id must be linked to the account you provide. I can neither confirm nor burst this myth.
A word of warning
Accessing Play Market with unofficial tools violates Google terms of service. Your account may be blocked because of Unchained usage. I strongly advise you to use a disposable account for any of the unofficial Play Market access tools. I've been using these tools for a few years now and my account still works but it does not mean Google will not change its policy in the future.
Alternatives
APP Downloader will allow you to download any app using your browser.
NOGAPPS project can update installed apps, but cannot be installed alongside official Play Market client and requires root to install.

Resigning APK to avoid app store updates

Hey all. Sysadmin here, no developer experience.
We have an app we received from our vendor and we have a strict release schedule, the app is also published in Google Play. In order to avoid the app from auto updating itself from Google Play we resigned the app with our own keystore.
We followed the following article among others:
https://www.xda-developers.com/stop-updates-android-application/
This worked fine earlier this year and the app was not recognized in google play. Today we received a new version for testing and I cant get this to work anymore. Ive resigned the app with a debug.keystore and a custom keystore but the app is still recognized in google play and displaying "updates available"
Anyone familiar with recent changes regarding app signing and debug keystores ? Or alternatively other ways to prevent an app from autoupdating ? We cannot disable store autoupdate because we still require other apps to be on the latest version at all times.

You didnt even need to edit files, Google Play offers the ability to disable updates for a specific app all what you need to do is:
1. In google play go to the desired app you want to disable the updates for
2.will find a three dots option on the top right side of the screen
3.press it and then uncheck "Auto-updates"

Amazon Alexa on Samsung Gear/Galaxy Watch (Alexa Gear) - Beta thread

*** IMPORTANT ***
Beta is over; final product is available in the galaxy store.
*** IMPORTANT ***
Hello everyone,
This is the announcement of our new Gear (Galaxy) watch app. It is basically a full-featured voice assistant using Amazon Alexa voice service running on your watch.
Today, we will be starting a closed beta and hopefully if we can solve all issues, the app will be released in 10-15 days.
The application consists of a GUI on the watch and a companion app which should run on the Android phone. (only Android , no IOS unfortunately)
The Android companion app is released at:
Alexa Gear
Without the watch app, the companion Android application is useless.
We have a few known issues, and before a full release including watch side application, we would like to identify and solve all issues.. That's the reason of this closed beta.
The app supports following Samsung Watches:
Samsung Gear S2
Samsung Gear S3
Samsung Gear Sport
Samsung Galaxy Watch
If you are interested in beta testing, please see below notes for beta testers, and provide your information in the form of following example by sending an email to mrmrmrmr(at)gmail.com
Email Subject: Application for AlexaGear Beta Test
Email body:
Name: John Smith
Email: [email protected] (your email address used to login for Samsung Galaxy/Gear App Store)
Phone Brand/Model: Samsung Note 9
Watch Model: Samsung Gear S3
Phone OS: Android 8.0
Notes for beta testers:
Beta application will be open from now on and will be closed when we believe all required type of users are selected.
Applying for the beta does not guarantee that you will be selected as a beta user. We would like to keep the beta group small with enough sample of various watch/phone models.
Beta process may continue untill the application is released.
Beta download link will be provided to selected users starting later today.
Notes about the current state of the application - also important for beta attendees:
The app is not fully released and this is a closed beta. It may cause application force-close on your phone.
The debug version of the app may cause high battery usage on your phone since it is not optimized.
You may have to install Amazon's official "Amazon Shopping" application on your phone to login, if it is not already installed.
The current version of the app outputs the voice response from Alexa on your phone and not your watch. Voice response will be sent to watch in a later release.
We expect from beta users to share their experience in the form of following only. All other communication attempts may be missed (i.e. different mail subject or wrong form of mail body);

UPDATE : Login problem is solved ; now we don't need Amazon Shopping to login.
Looks good on the video, I assume you're using the Alexa API directly (hence the Amazon Shopping log in)? And it looks like you're sending recorded audio to the phone, not STT?
I'd offer to join your beta, but I don't use Alexa anymore
Edit: Just letting you know your Play badge isn't linked to your store listing...

You are correct. application is using Alexa API directly. Amazon Shopping shouldn't be required for the final release. App should be able to login using Alexa authorization. We are going to fix it before release, hopefully.
Thanks for informing me about the badge issue. It was originally linked to the Play Store listing but the image tag overwrites it. I changed to plain text instead of badge now...
Hi there, I've been after something genious like this for Google Assistant or Alexa but just sold my Echo Dot!
With your app are we able to ask Alexa questions and receive answers on the watch or does it simply route the question to the Echo Device?
Great work either way..

You don't need an Echo device.
Initial release will supply you answers on your phone.
In a later release we'll move the responses to the watch.

release will work on non Samsung Android phones.
But I am not sure if non-Samsung devices can attend beta. Samsung might have a limitation there. You can try.
mm i'm thinking to ask for beta test. i'm italian and i have amazon echo (i'm part of preview project to improve italian before official release in our country)
should i have time, i'll email you

OK, great I've installed both and tested a small amount, this will be amazing if you can get answers on the Galaxy Watch. Couple of things if I may.
1 - When asking for location based queries it can't answer, says I need to add to Alexa App (Not installed)
2- Says Spotify and Google maps not supported on this device when asking for them.
3 - App closes intermittently on Galaxy Watch when screen closes (15 seconds on mine)
I'll give it a good go later when children are asleep and report back.. So far though seems very good
Is possible to have this app in spanish?
final version in action....

- response will be sent to watch in 2 weeks. I know what I have to do, but it is planned for second phase. Priority is to make a release with no major problems.
- for location, timezone and metric units settings you have to use Alexa app or https://alexa.amazon.com settings page.
- Spotify and Google maps are not supported on Android applications by Amazon. I am sorry but this is not possible.
- What happens when app closes ? Do you see any errors ? What happens if you reopen it ? Does it work normally ?
Thanks.

it should support all languages which are supported by Amazon Alexa. But the language setting is not available yet. I will try to fix it.
I'm using a Google Pixel 2 XL and a gear S3. I don't see the app in the US store. Am I missing something? Cheers
You can count me in. I'm in the US on Xfinity Mobile on a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and a Samsung Galaxy S3

which store you mean ?
On Google Play you should see the app (the direct link is in first post)
On Samsung apps Store (for watch part) , you can not see anything because it is in beta, not released. (see the first post if you'd like to attend beta)
This sounds interesting, so I think I'll sign up for the beta. I just purchased recently my S3 and it is still in the mail.
