Purity was originally developed for Galaxy Nexus (maguro). Recently there was an official version for Nexus 7 (grouper). But I own a tilapia, so.. instead of sitting and waiting for an official support I decided to build it by myself.
Just because it's an unofficial version, I added the stock GoogleGalley from 4.2 in order to have picasa sync, and a nice LegacyCamera, just in case someone wants to take a pic of himself

Battery life depends on many factors. First of all personal usage. I have to say that I'm more than happy with this ROM/kernel combo.
Anyway I'll do some measurement.

Since I activate tethering I cannot remain with "pure stock" kernel ( since RNDIS support is disabled ) and I had to recompile it. Not a big deal, after all...

hey, just downloaded the rom, super smooth so far, but one little yet major problem, the quick settings panel is not working, you know? blue tooth, wifi tiles etc...no drop down :/ i keep tapping the upper right hand of the screen but nothing drops down. it's a real shame if that doesn't work cause the rom really looks nice and smooth

well, yea, that is what i was doing. it's not working. also not working is the gesture keyboard typing. it makes a trail and everything but nothing is being typed :/
i have wiped twice, wiped dalvik-cache twice.. did everything twice. didn't do the trick.
Quite strange I'm just trying with gesture keyboard (that i don't like, but it's woking..) in order to test it. Please, can you PM me with a logcat when you do those two things? ( plug USB cabke , then "adb logcat | tee logcat.txt " )
Best ROM because of the dual-panel toggle,, but I get frequent random SystemUI FC`s. I do not have access to a PC, so I can not attach the bug report .txt file. This is what I have found parsing the file

Fix ART crash during initialization. - @KrissN
- The CDMAPhone has a static member that initializes a regexp pattern.
Unfortunately the java.util.regex.Pattern class is not allowed to be called
during ART bootstrap process which causes a bootloop.
- To fix this the initialization has been moved into the only method that
uses this regular expression.
Active display: Ability to turn off the screen, when a not clearable notification is present
- Removing the last clearable notification in AD turns of the screen. But if there is a not clearable notification, there is no ability to turn it off directly. This patch adds a power target on place of the 'clear notification' target of AD.
Pimp up ActiveDisplay
This is a squashed commit of the following:
- Active display: turn off display if device gets pocketed again
- Active display: Option to change display timeout
- Active display: Add some log output
- Active display: Add threshold to proximity sensor
- Display will only be activated if the proximity sensor was covered for 5 seconds or more.
Fix pimp up ActiveDisplay
- This is a fix for the new features added with change: https://gerrit.omnirom.org/#/c/2819/
- 1. Fix the bug when Pocket mode is set to Notifications only and you unlock your device with power key and if you put your hands over proximity sensor the device will turn off (very annoying). The problem was that mWakedByPocketMode it was put in wrong place.
- 2. Added an option in active display settings for "turn off display if device gets pocketed again" (it's annoying for me, because i cover the proximity very often).
- 3. Added an option in active display settings for proximity threshold. I use this active display feature as an replacement for "sweep2wake", and when my phone it's on the table, i just want to pass my hand over it to show me the clock or notification (this was ok before the pimp up commit), and now, you can choose how many seconds for proximity threshold.
- Practicaly, this commit fix one bug, and add settings for the features added in 'pimp up' commit.
BatteryService: fix FC on boot until battery stat is present
- updateLightsLocked() can be called from CM's added SettingsObserver when battery stat is not present, causing an FC and a loop until battery stat is present.

- Wifi country code handling is a nightmare - Most retail devices have region customization in /system for each country a device is shipped to.

I am looking for ROM and Kernel with minimal battery drain during sleep (not power off)
my current Tilapia, 4.4 stock ROM and Kernel is suffering from > 5% / Hr battery drain during sleep in airplane mode

My tablet has been going in to deep sleep more often with this ROM than CM 10.2 (official, and running the exact same set of apps) so it isn't really draining anything unless I'm doing something.
I'm sorry, it's the only 4.4 ROM I've used for longer than a day so that's as much as I can report accurately

Hello. Downloaded the latest version and when flashing in TWRP I get an error saying something about the binary updater script. I've read the OP and through the thread. Either I'm the only one with this issue or I've missed something.

The biggest change with this build is that it is compatible with every single variant of the Galaxy S4 (AT&T, TMo, Sprint, Verizon, etc.)[/B]. The way it does this is by executing a script during flash that identifies your bootloader and loki-patches the boot.img (kernel) if you are on one of the locked bootloader variants (AT&T or Verizon) and, for all others, leaves the kernel alone. It also adds any overlays for your device variant (APN's, etc.). Pretty freaking cool. :good:
So SGS4 users (except for i9500, sorry): come one, come all, and flash this Liquidy goodness without worrying about a status 7 error or the dreaded yellow unauthorized triangle.

Glad to hear...data/Mms were working on my phone (ATT), so I was hoping it would be for the other variants as well but I had no way of knowing.
I have never been a big fan of liquid before, but this seems promising. to be honest the whole eliminating the need to have separate variant roms built for each variant is really ingenious! that is the whole reason I am flashing this on my canadian variant, and yes it did boot. I am definitely going to give this a legitimate shot.

Thanks bud. Hey, I just noticed that the setting in developer options aren't sticking. I changed the animation settings to .25 plus root access, but when you go out, and come back in, the settings aren't there, the settings circle is blank.

Change those in Settings > Interface > Animation Controls.
And the root access thing is arbitrary, it doesn't do anything.

The phone issue is still there. Just tried several attempts and get the same results, can't hang up when person doesn't answer or checking voicemail. Phone doesn't ring when someone calls. All from a clean install!!
Great Rom and has all the features I'm looking for just need a working phone!
Definitely gonna try this have used Liquid roms for awhile now and they always perform great.

The back button and list button (the two buttons to the left and right of the hard home button at the bottom) dont work. I cannot go back a screen and have to press the home button to exit. Plus the android keyboard keeps force closing and just will not work. Other then that it works great. Only ROM so far that doesn't drop my network on screen close.
PS - why do I drop network when screen goes off on the other ROMS 0_0... it;'s annoying and I haven't found any fixes or solutions for it.

KNOWN ISSUES and COMMONLY ASK QUESTIONS
1. Don't dirty flash over if you update from other genius works. Make a full wipe before you flash.
if you are updating from an old version of this rom, dirty flash should be fine.
2. Flashing kernels : 3rd party kernel that consist of CM ramdisk(ie flash with a boot.img image) is not compatible with this rom. Not applicable to us
3. On restoring App with Titanium Backup: for those who switching roms all the time, it is recommend to wipe dalvik cache again with recovery.
dalvik cache generated by different rom build from different toolchains may not be compatible. You better do it prior to ART conversion.
4. If you flash SuperSu over this rom, pls checked "Enable su during boot" option in menu, otherwise, root privileges won't work
5. For dev reason I have switch on adb logging in developer options by default. Turn it off if you don't need it and somehow it save battery and get better performance.
6. Currently no proper ui restart function presents, dpi changes and some ui changes need to check the system ui restart option (under developer options) or even a reboot(using hot reboot option should work in most cases) .
7. Wifi Display Support : You need to check the option "Wireless display certification" under developer options to work properly.
8. Statusbar Carrier Label popup no matter how : still looking around and not yet solved.
9. Certain apps not showing up in Play Store(e.g. Facebook,Beautiful Widgets) or shows incompatiblity error.

This rom was the first KK rom I've ever seen with so many cherry-picked features from so many roms, and to tell you all the truth, it's my favourite KK rom right now... it's so stable and so... BEAUTIFUL!!!:crying::crying::crying:
Note: The Force dual panel mode is buggy when you try to open the apps in Settings>Apps, as it will cause it to FC. Use that feature with this in mind and please report other bugs!

Exactly, devesh started something too good to not continue, and now that I have the hardware and experience, we're finally able to bring the roms we couldn't port traditionally before.

Thank you haha, it's sooooo awesome!!! The default home button as well as the other button actions can be changed in Settings>Hardware Buttons and then enable custom actions if it's not. Then assign the recents action to long press and even double tap.
You can use the Documents app, it can install apps from your SD card now, since previous versions couldn't do that without an external file explorer.

Excellent ROM...Kindaa Loving it...Great great ROM...I hope you update it everytime altered updates his CM 11 roms......Because this is a BEAST !! ... It really is...Cant find a single bug till now....very stable and feature RICH....
This could be my daily driver if it gives a good battery life

Actually I have other phone which is my daily driver.. so my A2 is just for testing roms.. (not for playing )
I am facing these 3 problems
1) i use my phone to watch movies and videos for long lime. the main problem i am facing is phone get hanged up while watching video and makes wearied sound and then get rebooted. Does anyone face same problem......?
2) also my wifi is off but still battery drain due to wifi is much more.
3) the volume of calls is very low. can't able to hear.
any solution plz.....

1) that's a kernel problem, try using jbx to see if that solves your issue.
2) in wi-fi setting, try turning off 'Scanning always available'.
3) increase volume before every call. it's not low...it's just that the volume levels get reset everytime. that should get fixed soon. With the awesome devs we have :good:

Personally , i never faced any wifi drain issue.. and my phone has not hanged even once while watching videos......and the volume fix will happen very very soon....

when i was experimenting with cm kernel, i experienced it before
Phone doesn't hand...but crashes. you literally have to hard reset to get out or remove battery

Device does not show charge state while switched off
Thanks for this nice and smooth rom :good: :good: . But I am facing a little problem. After flashing this, My S3 LTE does not show charging while switched off. The phone keeps showing the loading icon of battery and does not show the charging state with animation

And another issue I faced is I could not uninstall system apps (used Titanium, SD Maid) though super user was granted. Then I installed updated super user 1.99 from chainfire from this guide. After that could uninstall successfully. But do I need to remove the stock superuser?
No, you don't need. I am ALWAYS flashing SuperSu and it is as simple as that - flash and use
Hello i have 2 problems with this Rom. 1. After i leave my home with wifi i need to reboot for mobile network. 2. Sometimes my lockscreen ist black and i activatet custom lockscreen wallpaper. I think the network is allready fixed in cm/omni

The last CM11 Nightly has the same issue, and the Archidorid. The Phone didnt charge when is off. I hope this bug will be solve soon...

I encountered this bug in liquidsmooth the other day, you just get the battery empty symbol with the loading circle in the middle of it but no animation almost like its just crashes and frozen.
I didn't think it'd be a problem until my phone completely died, had to boot into download mode to get charge to go in and I had to use an iPhone for a day which was horrible.

Be careful, it won't boot for me forced me back to stock. Error appears in the corner as the red/blue light blinks. I'll pass for now, thank you for your work on this though.
I asked sooti to build this for us when he was testing for his device. Looks like the boot.img didn't get bumped. He is fixing this and is getting me a test build. As soon as I verify it boots i'll have him post a new download.

okay thanks ! that's the only thing really stopping me from going to 5.0 is the whole Memory storage problem
New link will be up shortly. This uses old method to flash so it takes time. You will not see a progress bar and takes time to boot. Before posting anything please give it time. I can confirm, wifi, data, camera and calls. Proximity sensor seems to be turning screen back on will report more as day goes by. Some one please check bluetooth call audio I can't here at work.

Give it time takes alot longer than normal. I was freaking out at first just give it time.
