[GUIDE]Unlock-Recovery-Rooting-Restore back-S-OFF-SUPERCID for your One - One (M7) Android Development

Sure I'm not mike1986. or a Dev, but it's not my first guide for this type of process. (N7 3G & TF300), and I've wrote this guide for help everyone who wants to unlock, rooting, flashing, restore back Stock his HTC One and use Fastboot easily.
Because If you have some problems for install or use the ADB Line commands, the simple way is to use Fastboot, that's why i've inserted this guide with all commands

- SDK Platform
Or
- Fastboot files or Platform Tools
And
- recoverystock.img
Don't forget that you should need Android SDK Installed on your machine or you can download Fastboot Files or Platform Tools and install it on the root of your PC in one folder named "fastboot" or "platform tools".
Once your folder created and named "fastboot" or “platform tools”, extract the files into this folder.

The process by HTCDev for unlock your One

For the moment, we have some problems with different recoveries. The best way is to use this process:
Use the AIO for flashing the stock recovery from HTC (select your own recovery)
Once your stock recovery flashed, make a backup of your recovery.
Then it’s done, you can flash the recovery that you want (for my part it’s TWRP 2.5.0.0), don't forget to reboot to bootloader and don't wipe your phone
Code:
[B]C:\platform-tools>fastboot flash recovery recoverystock.img[/B]
Once your recovery flashed you will see in the bootloader above
[highlight]“UNLOCKED”[/highlight], [highlight]“TAMPERED”[/highlight]
Click to collapse
HOW TO ROOT YOUR ONE
Click to collapse
Just select "Perm root" to AIO Tool.
It’s really simple.
Reboot and try your root with an app as Titanium Backup.
You will may to update the binaries of SU.
HOW TO S-OFF YOUR ONE

Click to collapse
If you want to S-OFF your One, it's useless to write again another guides because you will find here the both ways for S-OFF your One.
Note: if you're on Hboot 1.54 then s-off can't be achieved at the moment.

[GUIDE] Download HTC One M7 RUU - Restore back STOCK
[GUIDE] Download HTC One M7 RUU - Restore back STOCK
Find your HTC One M7 Rom Update Utility (RUU) is very useful if you need to restore back your device to Stock after any modification you’ve made. If you have rooted your One, unlocked its bootloader, installed custom recovery and roms and finally you want decided to getting back to official firmware and then to get or accept future OTA updates again. It’s the best way to restore back your device to Stock.
Coming back to stock is also useful if you have some bugs (for fixing it), Bootloop, stuck in boot screen logo and freeeeezzziiiinnnngggg, etc....
But before to going back to stock, you need to know :
Your bootloader will never be “LOCKED” again !!! You can’t restore it, just RELOCK it.
The “TAMPERED” text in your bootloader will only disappear after the flash of your RUU.
1 - Where I can can find the right RUU for my HTC One-M7 ?
First, you need to download the RUU that matches your device according to what carrier you have, hboot version, and baseband. The RUU will not run if it doesn’t match your device.
If you don’t know your One M7 variants, go to see the end of the post,
and this tread - HTC One variants [U/UL/WL]
But first download and install the necessary files prior to execute this properly. If you have already installed those files, just check theirs.
HTC Sync(Windows only)
Java Runtime Environment.
Android SDK | Android Developers.
Platform tools
Fastboot files
2 - Checking HTC One hboot and overall firmware version
If you already have this installed on your computer then proceed to checking your device info.
To find the correct firmware info of your device (modeid and cidnum), just simply run your device using the below fastboot command.
Hold the power button down until the phone power off.
Press Volume Down and Power to start the device into Bootloader mode.
Use the Volume buttons to select up or down. Highlight Fastboot and press the Power button.
Connect the device to the computer via a usb cable.
Run command prompt. ( Start > Run > type CMD).
Code:
C:\fastboot>fastboot devices
Code:
C:\fastboot>fastboot getvar all
You can read the whole logcat and get your device correct hboot and baseband version.
Download the right RUU for your HTC One from this thread :[COLLECTION] HTC M7 RUU, OTA, and Stock Nandroid Downloads
3 - Running HTC One M7 RUU
First make sure that your battery is fully charge 100%
If you are ready, you need to re-locked the bootloader before to going back to the RUU
Set the phone in fastboot mode (select fastboot from hboot menu), then plug-in USB cable.
Run the command prompt window, go to your fastboot directory
Enter the following commands:
Code:
fastboot devices
Code:
fastboot oem lock
It will then prompts you into a security warning and then relock your bootloader.
Now, you can boot your device into fastboot mode again,
Run the RUU.exe once your device is in fastboot USB mode.
Simply follow the RUU prompts, just wait and don’t unplug the phone until completely finishes.
The phone will reboots once completes and finally your phone should be on stock again.

No, this process works because a lot of users have used it.
Are you unlocked ? You can see unlocked when you are bootloder.
Where are your recoverystock file .img ? normally in the platform tools or fastboot folder (look pics)
Can you explain what have you make ?

Thanks for the help!
But I think I know why the RECOVERY won't work.
Because I have BRANDED htc one.
cid: H3G__106
H3G (3 Austria)
Code:
fastboot getvar version-main
version-main: 1.28.771.6
finished. total time: -0.000s
so I need to find the right version of STOCK RECOVERY IMAGE
1.28.771.6 - Hutchison 3G UK (United Kingdom)
and flash it first!
Just like the steps to unlock AT&T branded htc one.

About the install of the recovery, you're UNLOCKED so you can flash a recovery even if you're branded by your carrier.
When you write your command lines which name write you for your recovery ?
Don't forget to write the same name as your recovery name in your your folder: Look screens of the OP

Well , first of all unlock your bootloader >>> says very clear there >>> *** TAMPERED *** then under that *** RELOCKED *** .
Once you unlocked it ... check this post here >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1543588 and get a rom for your device .
From what says in your post , Mar 15 2012 and versions of HBOOT , Radio , etc ... my guess is that RUU_Ville_U_HTC_Europe_1.78.401.2_Radio_0.16.31501S.17_2_10.23.31501S would be fine for you .
I'm not sure if your CID will be a problem to write another recovery image so download that rom version and get from it what you need ( recovery , etc ) . Even so ... i think you should be able to flash TWRP 2.2.0 recovery and use a custom ROM ( TrickDroid 7.0 for example ) .
If need , you can also change your CID to Super CID ... this would alllow ya to write any rom ... check this post for more info >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671396 .
Yes CID would be a problem, i've changed it to HTC__001 to load the europe ruu...

ADB only works if phone is booted or booting and ADB is activated in settings on the phone, and in a custom recovery like CWM.
Fastboot only works in bootloader mode, when it says FASTBOOT just like when you first tried flashing that recovery.img. Test with
Code:
fastboot devices
Your command was correct but it failed because your bootloader was relocked like Equlibryum said. Try unlocking it again with
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
if it doesnt work you have to unlock again. I believe you can van reuse the Unlock_code.bin HTC emailed you the first time e.g.
Code:
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
Not sure if you have to be in any special mode to run the RUU, if memory serves me right either just at homescreen on booted phone or in bootloader.
Also you need only fastboot access to change CID.
To use adb you have to enable "debug usb" in developer options (opzioni sviluppatore->debug usb)
Then connect the phone to your pc (it must be on), open cmd and use the command
Code:
adb devices
to see if the phone is effectively connected
Also remember when you change CID you have to request another unlock_code from htcdev
ADB problem

Then unlock the bootloader, flash a custom recovery and then a custom rom, i sugguest you trickdroid (stable and looks like the stock one).
If you are unconfortable using cmd you should use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1604677
After that your phone should boot fine.
Then if you want you can change your CID through adb and install the ruu or simply keep trickdroid.
PS: if you want to give thanks, hit the thanks button
also uncheck fastboot under settings/power on phone
and do you have all your drivers/files for fastboot/adb installed in your fastboot.exe folder
make sure you are in that folder in command window for fastboot commands to work and booted into fastboot on phone
as mentioned on adb just be booted in to phone OS

I can't uncheck fastboot under settings/power my phone start only in bootloader and don't go in recovery.
I'm not able to use the ADB or FASTBOOT command because the the device is NOT CONNECT, but the driver and the sofware are correctly installed. I think the only way for resolve in the correct RRU for TIM__401 but is impossible to find it.
bye

I believe in order to change your CID you need ADB. got a classic chicken or egg situation here.
I believe the only way you could get this to work is to get fastboot to work. then you could unlock bootloader, and install recovery and rom as they said already. Sometimes you have to try your phone in a different usb port so windows will be forced to reinstall the drivers or you need to delete the drivers from device manager and try again
Can not DO SUPERCID
my htc one s was offical system till i OTA 4.1.1
now HBOOT:2.15 BASEBAND:1.11.50.05.28_10.27.50.08L CID:TIM__401
and UNLOCKED root
but ever I do the supercid the result often still TIM__401
I did cry even 10+
what can I do this?
who can give me some suggestion?

Problem with downgrade from HBOOt 2.02.0002 to 0.98.0000

Welcome
I have a problem with downgrade HBOOT. While I entered:
Code:
adb push zergRush /data/local/tmp
it shows:mode.
Code:
C:\a3>adb push zergRush /data/local/tmp
* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *
error: device not found
I can't turn on phone in normal mode. Could sb help me?
I assume you've installed correct drivers for your version of windows,
if so, first let ADB find your device, ....then undertake next steps...
What wersion of android is currently iinstalled on your phone?
If ics, then you should seek to gain root access different way
I've heard ICS has been patched against zerg rush exploit ( still double check it )
Edit: i know the question may appear foolish but:
Is your device - by any chance - already rooted?

If you're comming from a different base (sense rom for example)
it is always better to perform full wipe (all except sd card)
before flashing new rom (and kernel-boot.img)
If that would not resolve your issues,
you should ask in jelly fire bean rom thread for further support
Ok, thanks. I have another question. If I would like to install older version of Android (4.1.*) what I should to do now?

You can flash- at will- everything you want(- except RUU)
as long as you flash boot. img along with the rom of your choice
(boot.img belonging to that rom naturally, or compatible with)
Do not forget about full wipe,...it often saves us from headache...
Ok, but if I'm turning on Bootloader Mode, I can't get to RECOVERY. It turning on to normal mode. I would like to try install Android 4.2.1 or 4.1.*, because screen dims while I'm moving to settings, etc. Second problem is that I haven't got keyboard on 4.2.2 :cyclops:
EDIT: Now all working fine. If I would like to install Android 4.1.* I should download ROM and Gaps and follow instructions? And at the end: Fastboot flash boot boot.img?
In principle, yes...
In every rom thread you'll find
detailed instructions- how to flash it ...
You must read more
Thank you very much for help.

Won't boot into recovery

It all started yesterday where i was trying to update (InsertCoin) which for some reason made my phone shut down mid-way through the installation process...
I had to reboot my phone back into recovery to wipe system/cache/data to reinstall...For some reason this wiped/damaged everything but the bootloader ofc.
(Bye go all my pictures, whatsapp conversations etc...)
This made me not being able to boot into my recovery aswell
I still can't get back into my recovery, and i've tried flashing the recovery over and over again via fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
When i try to flash the recovery, it succeeds but when i try to boot into it, it blinks the splash screen with odd intervals, i dont know if this means that its trying over and over again...I'm sort of desperate here...any help?
sidenote here: I'm in linux
you should've updated firmware to hboot 2.22 needed for IC, then you need to install the latest recovery 2.7.1.1 from twrp website
twrp here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m4ul
new firmware here :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2759131
I have not updated it, will go and do that now,
Code:
[email protected]:/media/leon/*censor*/Android/ROMS/Millium$ sudo fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
[sudo] password for leon:
target reported max download size of 800227328 bytes

Right.....!?
I really don't want to reboot to bootloader at the moment...since the update failed...
Apparently i am S-ON and therefor need to obtain s-off, but i don't have an android system installed..how
s-off required to flash firmware or if s-on, bootloader needs to be re-locked, sorry i assumed you knew that! maybe create a signature giving details of your device for future, it does help.
If you are S-ON ---> Re-lock your bootloader (this will most probably wipe content of your device)
If you are S-OFF ---> no need to re-lock the bootloader.
Copy downloaded .zip to fastboot.exe location (e.g. c:/SDK/platform-tools/fastboot.exe)
Re-name .zip file to firmware.zip
Open command prompt
Boot your device in fastboot mode (vol down + power ===> fastboot)
Connect device to the PC
In command prompt cd to fastboot.exe location
Make sure you have correct modeid and cidnum (type: fastboot getvar all)
Type: fastboot oem lock (if your device is not relocked yet or in case it's S-ON)
Type: fastboot oem rebootRUU and wait for device to reboot
Type: fastboot flash zip firmware.zip and wait for process to complete
Sometimes flashing for the first time doesn't work, so flash firmware.zip again just to make sure.
Type: fastboot flash zip firmware.zip and wait for process to complete
Type: fastboot reboot
Unlock your bootloader and flash custom recovery if you are going to use custom ROM.

no that firmware will not update everything that is required, use the firmware zip in the link i gave previously.
you need to change your cid to supercid,,,,very simple to do
Enter the command "fastboot oem readcid". Make a note of your original CID.
enter the command "fastboot oem writecid 11111111" make sure it is 8 ones (1)
enter the command "fastboot read cid" [it should confirm your CID is 11111111]

well you've done everything that i done when i tried out Insertcoin rom for a few days and never had any of your issues. so not sure whats going on.
- unlocked bootloader
- get s-off
- get supercid
- update firmware
- get latest twrp recoverry
- install Insert Coin
use the fix miniwhooper posted on her firmware thread ....Flash stock recovery and factory reset from boot loader. It will fix you /data partition.. then flash custom recovery and it should be fixed

Run the command...

Wait around 10 minutes as it will not give you progress
go back to TWRP main page and install, choose SDcard and the zip file you just uploaded should be there.

[GUIDE][S4] How to install HBOOT 2.16 | For first time users

HBOOT 2.16 Installation guide
Requirements before installing
Back up your files, your SD Card will be WIPED!
Charge your phone to AT LEAST 30%
Your bootloader MUST be unlocked
You NEED to be S-OFF or else it won't work
You need basic knowledge of Fastboot commands
Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP: You need drivers installed
Windows 8.1: You need drivers installed AND update kb2967917 from Microsoft
Linux: You need "51-android.rules" or "99-android.rules" configured
Mac: Nothing needed that I know of
I am NOT responsible if you break your phone

This guide will be from a Windows point of view
Installation Guide
Download the HBOOT 2.16 firmware file from here: Download from Mega.co.nz
Place it in your adb and fastboot folder. For example C:\Users\(Your Username)\Fastboot
Now open a Command Prompt window and then type in:
Code:
cd C:\(Location of your Fastboot folder)
Now take your phone and connect it to your computer (with USB Debugging ON) and type in:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Once you are in the bootloader and it displays "Fastboot USB", type in:
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
Once your computer recognizes your phone type in:
Code:
fastboot flash zip Firmware_4.06.401.1.zip
If you changed the file name make sure to type in the name of it instead of the one above
You will then get an error:
Code:
"FAILED (remote: 90 hboot pre-update! please flush image again immediately)"
Don't worry, this is normal. DO NOT unplug your phone. Simply type in once again:
Code:
fastboot flash zip Firmware_4.06.401.1.zip
If you changed the file name make sure to type in the name of it instead of the one above
Then wait until the Command window says "finished" and type in:
Code:
fastboot reboot-bootloader
Next we need to download TWRP recovery. You can download it from MDMower's website and MAKE SURE to get TWRP for "/data/media storage (HBOOT 2.16.0000)" and TWRP 2.8.0.1 or above.
Now we must go back to the command window with your phone still plugged in displaying "Fastboot USB" on the screen
Then we type:
Code:
cd C:\Users\(Your Username)\Downloads
or if the TWRP Recovery file isn't in the above location just direct it to the folder its stored in
Now we type:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-2.8.x.x-ville-dm.img
just replace the "x" with the numbers on the file. e.g. - 2.8.0.1
Once it flashed successfully press the power button and use the volume buttons to scroll down to recovery and to boot into it, simply press the power button
Now go into "Mounts" and select Enable MTP if it isn't already.
Now copy a ROM of your choice (That supports HBOOT 2.16) and flash it. If MTP doesn't work, simply sideload the ROM
That's it, now you just reboot after installing your ROM.
Hope this helps anybody having difficulty with HBOOT 2.16

You need to change your cid
To change it go into bootloader, then fastboot, connect it to your computer and type

that is eight 1s
If that didnt work then type instead
Code:

that is 2 underscores after HTC

Ah, damn, because I followed the instructions to the end despite the HBOOT not flashing I can also now not access recovery anymore. It seems the new version of recovery was properly flashed, but as it relies on higher HBOOT I can't get into it anymore. It is still in HBOOT 1.03.
Can anyone help me to get this phone ready for Cyanogenmod?

Never mind, I found what I needed...
Hi, do you have the firmware for t-mobile to downgrade to 2.15? I tried https://mega.co.nz/#!s54F3YqK!QrNjMlieIG65jsaGWS8eXDdLc5FcYM7IEmqTk_pHbFA but doesnt work. I think because is not for tmobile. I cant downloade the full RUU because the download always fails and my internet is so slow.
EDIT: I dont need it anymore, a friend download the file for me. Just a question. in hboot 2.16, gave me more space for my data, i like that, there is no way to make old roms to work on hboot 2.16?
Cannot get this method to work. I'm unlocked and S-OFF. But whenever I try to flash the firmware*.zip I get the message

I'm about ready to give up on HBoot 2.16.

No the recovery version will NEVER affect anything that does/doesn't work on the rom. Since you are using Liberty rom, make sure you are using the 4.4.2 version because the 4.4.3 version is very buggy
of course

Guys can someone please help me?
I am on Windows 10 desperately trying to find a solution on the ''WAITING DEVICE'' response after I type
fastboot oem rebootRUU
I have tried installing a bunch of drivers , driver updates on device manager etc with no luck.
The device is just not responding.
Thanks
