S-Pen sounds - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Themes and Apps

Here's a nifty little app to change the sounds on your S-Pen detach and insert. No root required also. Those of you that do have root I'll provide a link for a method with out using an app.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmd.spentoolbox. App for unrooted devices.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250286. Link for those of you that are rooted. Be sure to do a .backup before applying the new sounds.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=37508806. For those of you that aren't rooted and want a one click root app. The app is called Framaroot. Then install root explorer or a file manager of your choice and manually apply the S-Pen sounds.

[Q] How do I move an apk from one rooted phone to another?

A while ago I downloaded an app called poke pal donate. It was a paid app for the Pokemon games where you count effort values. It's been taken off the market now and I have a new phone. My old phone's digitizer is cracked if that makes a difference. How do I get it on my new phone? Thanks and have a good day.
you can try Total Commander for Android (search Google for it).
this allows you to browser apps by name and copy apk files to where you want.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App

First go into Super User and revoke access. Then I would re-grant it to see if it works. Then uninstall app and re-install.

Just about to say this, at first i had alot of problems with rom toolbox and then i noticed the first time i opened it i declined superuser access and it was blocked.
Nope. Everything ok with superuser rights. Just keep mucking around. Using the system apks now and doing everything directly instead of using the app.
Getting angry with it. Lol
Using markphytonICS
Lupus_Beta_Kernel_V4 CFS
Systemui from neoV ( blue statusbar)

Two Questions

Hi, i'm just wondering how do I move file such as movie file into SD card? I recently rooted my tablet and using cm9 rom. With the stock rom i used the my file(file manager) app, it came with the tablet.
Also anyone knows how to delete core apps? I dont need everything though, just few. My internal memory is only 8gb.
Thanks in advance.

To move files to sd, you need to install a file manager downloaded from google play as astro file manager l, es file manager, antek file manager, root explorer , root browser lite (search google play) use any of them as alternative to ny files app in stock rom
To remove system apps use file explorer as root explorer or root browser lite to remove the apk of unwanted apps from system/data ( please make nandroid backup first !!!) or use app like system cleanup (make a nandroid first)

yes to move files you need a file manager(go for bluetooth file transfer, astro, androzip or root explorer or any other)
and to delete stock bloatware use link2se or rom toolbox or titanium backup and many other option are available...
Thanks, i will be trying several apps and see what works with me. I'll keep you guys posted.

[GUIDE] recover universal search

Hello,
This is my first guide. It's not my work but I thought I'd post it here as many people would find it useful. I found it somewhere in the sprint galaxy s3 forums a while back and I keep using it. It has worked on all the roms I have installed so far.
You will need a copy of the Google search apk with universal search. Here's my copy http://db.tt/Chg3ev9i
You will also need the app Root explorer found here https://play.google.com/store/apps/...utm_medium=organic&utm_term=root+explorer+apk I don't know if there is a free version or if file explorer with root access will work. I use Root explorer and it works. Anyways for the guide:
1. Open up root explorer and navigate to /system/app
2. Mount as R/W
3. Copy googlequicksearchbox_USA.apk and paste it somewhere safe as a backup.
4. Delete googlequicksearchbox_USA.apk from /system/app
5.paste the Google search apk from my dropbox into this folder /system/app and set the permissions to RW-R--R-- (if you don't know what it looks like, check the permissions on any other apk in this folder and make it look the same)
6. Remount folder as R/O
7.exit Root explorer app
8. Go to your settings>application manager>all and scroll down to Google search (not the one with the pic of a search bar. The one with the big "G" ) tap it and tap clear data (if this is not an option, don't worry about it)
9. Go back to Settings>application manager>all and scroll to googleservicesframework.apk, tap on it and tap clear data.
10. Reboot
11. Enjoy your universal search

You can do that but it will erase when you reboot. To make it stick, you have to do the full method

Solve this by long press menu at home screen to force search than hit the accept button at the prompt. Search widget should now work. Or just go to your apps and run search app and hit accept.

Thank you so much for this. Made me so happy to have uni search back. F'n Apple and their stupid lawsuits over stuff they stole.
Thanks again and as always...
GOBEARS!
Universal search was keeping me on the LF2 base. While I may need a good reason to come off of LF2 at least now I know I have the option.
Thank you, thank you!
I had been trying an apk that was posted for use on my GTab 8.9, but it never worked on the S3. I consider the $4 for Root Explorer a small price to pay to get this functionality back where it belongs. Kudos!:good:

For those of us on jelly bean (AT&T S3), would this process still be beneficial or does Google Now cover it all?

You can easily tell local search is in Google Now, just search for an app you have in your app drawer using it. This was for ICS when Samsung removed local search.

Saving app apk

How do I save an app apk and put it on my computer. Because I want to save the flappy bird apk so I can give it to my friends and keep it for myself
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
Ok you can do this in many ways.
If your phone is rooted, then install ~
1]Root Uninstaller from Google Play which automatically backs up all installed applications to sd card. Note that you can also back up applications manually using this app.
2]a file explorer like root explorer or fx file explorer. Then, go to system/sd/apk, where all installed application files would be present. Copy and paste it to sd and backup to pc.
Hit the thanks button if it helped.

Hi,
you can use Share Apps from play store...
Share Apps really share your apps' installation package(APK) with your friends directly.
Share Apps will share you app(include system app) to:
Email,Dropbox,Google Drive,Bluetooth,Facebook etc.
Some other similar types of more apps are available on play store.... plz check...
I think these all work without root...
if you both have rooted devices u may use Titanium backup app to bundle ur app in .zip file & ur friend can use flash it thru recovery / cmw recovery....
