Post pictures you have taken with this device - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 General

So far I'm reading alot of you guys are not happy with dim light or challenging situation results. Can you post good and bad shots? Will help other get an idea in deciding. I'm really concerned about indoor shots, dim lights, etc. Thanks.

I took both of these in low light. First is night mode, second is auto mode.
*I have removed the plastic film from the lens. It doesn't actually cover the opening, but the camera does seem to focus a bit better since removing it. Maybe placebo...

Both are without flash.

All of these were taken in artificially lit rooms... average to mediocre lighting.

The camera doesnt seem too bad, but I dont think the camera would do well in a pub or club type of light. But so far I like how the pics look. At least night mode helps.

The camera is fantastic.

In apartment shots (not super low light but not bright our outside lit) are def better than my iphone 5. I recommend turning on auto night mode (switched to night automatically).

Camera is amazing.

How good or bad is the display on the G2x outside in daylight? Comparisons to the G2 would be great if you know. G2 is useless in sunlight even on full brightness.

Its not very visible on a bright sunny day in full brightness :/. My galaxy s did muchhh better in this although this is a awesome device
Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
Wow you must have SUNNY days... I live in AZ which gets direct sun 360 days of the year and Imo this phone is way easier to see in the sunlight than my sgs ever was even at 100% bright

better than a samsung, not as good as a nokia
I'm in vegas, so someone in arizona sounds like a good reference to me lol

I work outside in Norcal, and that's one of the key things for me in a phone. This is the first phone that has allowed me to leave my Galaxy S. Not quite as good as my Cappy, but the difference is marginal. Way better than Atrix, Inspire, and N1.

Never had a problem using it in Arizona, even with sunglasses on. Be warned though if you have polarized lenses lol you will see some weird colors.

Help with screen please?

I just got my new gs3 in and ran a screen test to check for dead pixels. On the black screen test I noticed a line about an inch long in the middle of the screen and it was really black. It stood out on the black screen. You can't notice anything other than when it's a black background. Is this normal for these phones or should I get another one. I just got it yesterday. Thanks for the help. I just don't want my screen to be going out already.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
These are manufacturing issues present on almost all gs3s. It is normal. Forget what they are called but they seem really black compared to the screen. Honestly not a big deal in day to day use but very noticeable in the dark.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Yeah that's what I mean, I honestly can't even see it unless the background on the screen is black then ill have a little line that Is alot darker.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
It's a nature of the OLED screen tech. Very common on phones with this screen tech. Google black spots Oled if you want more information.

Thanks for all your help. I was pissed off when I first saw it. I got my phone though amazon wireless so that would have sucked having to return it
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
I wonder exactly how many S3 owners have this issue compared to those that don't as I have 3 dark spots as well. I wonder if Verizon will exchange my S3 for another one because of this.

Was it hard to apply? Work with a case? Could you possibly take a pic of your phone with the lens on.

It actually does bit not all of it. You could put it on at an angle and it might do it. I got the spigen case on. I will have a look at that when I finish work.

Display issue after 4.4.4 upgrade

Hey, so I Just upgraded my moto to 4.4.4 in the UK, and now there's a sort of smudge on my screen near the center left of the display, its very obvious when i use my phone in bed, and it annoys me non stop. The smudge looks like a white fingerprint but its on the display, like a dead pixel or something which it obviously isnt. I will take a photo on my tablet so you can see it, as unsurprisingly it doesnt show up in screenshots. I would greatly prefer software alternatives over hardware ones due to the fact im in quite a rural area. Thanks, Neo

Here's the picture. Sorry for horrible quality, but at least you can distinctly the smudge.

Try to dry the humidity with an hair dryer, carefully, really. This was the suggestion I can second, in my opinion. The better photo?

I've been really busy today working, so I'll take one in the morning. Also, if its water under the screen should I put the dryer on minimum heat?

Correct, I suggest medium heat and try short, multiple time heating. Difficult to sort out without a much clearer photo as stated from smbody else.

Here's a "better" photo, as my moto has the best camera of my devices, and my tab 2 has a 3mp shooter so the quality ain't great.
EDIT: been blow drying to seemingly no gain, will try later. In the meantime, any other ideas?

If all goes as planned, I'll have mine tomorrow and I plan on toying around with those. I'm used to them on my DSLR so if I get ambitious enough, maybe I'll do some side by sides, but I'm pretty lazy soooo.,......
The left image is on my Canon T3i in manual mode. The right is my Note 5. I in no way expected it to be close to the same quality but the color was just way off. https://i.imgur.com/4z1XkqT.jpg The manual settings on the Note 5, though nice....are still quite basic. I may try a couple other cameras with RAW support.
