Just wanted to say hello as a newb who's hoping to learn a lot viewing these forums as I already have just creepin around. Even though my mT4G (which my bro sold to me for $30) is somewhat limited on Straight Talk where I live it's the cheapest option I have for prepaid, but it's a HUGE step up from the Samsung Galaxy Prevail from Boost I've been putting up with for the past year.

Welcome! I'm fairly new to the Mytouch4g and ROM scene too, so i'm still learning about all this rooting stuff.
Well for all the newbies just read and search through the dev forum for info...at this point if you have a question its probly already been answered so don't post in the dev section unless you have drv related things to post about. The general forums also can answer the rest of your questions. So use the search button and no one will hate you

Trolls. Gotta love em. On a serious note, I seen a post about porting MookeOS, LewaOS, etc. and it seems that they're ported on a CM7 frame. I know it's not ICS, but Jim mentioned that he was getting closer to having a CM7 build, Sooo, maybe when he's done with that we can port these over and add a little more flavor. At least until we get some ICS for real.

I do have a rumor that I heard the other day, when I was on site at my customer's office, (If you have been on here a while, you know who that is, I will not post that information again) I heard a rumor that Moto is getting ready to start the ICS testing in June, so we should start to see some leaks in cheesecake, I would hope.
I am not referring to the beta testing that was like the testing that they asked people to sign up for, for the 2.3.6 release but, internal testing.... If you catch my drift.

ok i been modding for 4 years now from g1 to g2x and wp7...just got this sidekick 4g today have it root ready to go but theres no active download links to any roms wtf?!?! so if anyone can can email me any zips that be great this is soooo lame!!
It's because no developer wanted this phone, and I don't blame them.

That's the truth though, if no one wants to develop for this device then obviously you won't find roms for it. It's just that simple.
and what i said is true too, its a freakin pipe dream to wish for anything great anymore. phone was a piece of trash, and it always will be because Samsung abandoned it so quickly. i thank the devs for what they did, i really do, but the fact is this device was doomed from the start.
Just wanted to take the time to thank the community here for all the awesome work to help keep this device alive.. specifically design gears for helping me with cwm and dan Rosenberg for root and all the devs who keep the forums alive with great new stuff!
But its come time for me to pack the o3d away in a drawer cause I just ordered my new iPhone 4s....
Jk. I did order a brand new GSM Galaxy Nexus...
Mainly I want to let people know that i dont have the time to maintain my rom or theme threads... so if anyone wants to take over any of those projects.. no need to ask.. consider them yours!!!

Just wanted to say thank you to all the great devs this device has for all the awesome roms . And also fellow users as well. I gave the MT4GS to my ma but I doubt shell know how to do much but make calls on it . It now has cm9.1 r8 for good.
I got a Samsung gallaxy Note II and WOW . Thing is incredible. But anyways I'm sure I'll see some of you over there. Peace :highfive: :good:

Ya , know I definitely will. I mean I'm not sure she could actually root and flash CMR but now thats installed flashing a rom isnt so hard. Ill ask her if she wants a lesson . Shell def be one of the older of the community at 69yrs . Ill let her know her pressence is requested. I think thatd be cool to get her on android nerd status. Too late for me .
I told a friend bout the Note II I got and he said " Wow thats a serious machine , are you never going to get an iphone? " And thanks to the note keyboard putting the speech to text mic button on the front end I was able to get the word never followed by 6 evers in under 15 seconds hahahahaha

Same here moved to the note 2 when it came out and all I can say is wow this phone is amazing.
Hopefully we get some more devs like we have here on the mt4gs!
