Deodexed app & framework | Battery with % | 4x5 Appdrawer | for JB k2_u & k2_ul
Hi there, i have some goodies for HTC One SV (k2_u & k2_ul) User who are on Jelly Bean.
Credits:
- to jmztaylor and Facepalm crew for getting S-Off and for his tips
- to bkcokota for a mostly working recovery
- dsixda for his kitchen
- UOT Kitchen for the Battery Mod
- the community where it did a lot of research
Notice:
I tested this myself on a european non-lte phone (codename: k2_u) and it works. But as always bricks can happen and i am not responsible if your phone is dead afterwards.
Don't do this, if you are not experienced enough!
This files are for flashing in recovery. As the stock ROM is odexed, you have to flash the deodexed app & framework folder first. Then you can easily use the rest.
Requirements:
- a S-Off HTC One SV with Softwareversion: k2_u 2.14.401.107; k2_ul 2.14.401.6
- the downloads below
- a recovery where you can flash the files

Volume Wake Mod
For k2_u (Non-LTE) and k2_ul (LTE) Users!
Credits
- zarboz for figuring out
- nitsuj17 for the init.d script
- tbriden for his guide
Very special thanks to all of them!
As our kernel itself has no init.d support, you need an app like Uni-init v1.0 to make this work.
Download:
Volume Wake für k2_u (Non-LTE) - Mirror
Md5 Sum: 96B3BC6CCF8789A392847FF7118039CE
Volume Wake für k2_ul (LTE) - Mirror
Md5 Sum: 368D24E39BDC7E457256C66D07C20F78
How to install:
- As always: make a backup in recovery
- If you don't have it, download and install BusyBox and update to the latest
- Download and install Uni-init v1.0
- Activate Init.d Support (it will maybe ask you to download latest binaries, do it)
- Reboot and use the "Verify" Button in Uni-init v1.0 to check if init.d is active
- If you are successful, reboot to recovery and flash the fitting Volume_Wake.zip from above
If the Volume Wake Mod doesn't work at first boot, reboot again to get the script loaded at boot, now it should be fine.

Thanks man.
I didn't have time to test stuff lately since I'm still "reducing" the stock rom, but I did made a cwm flashable zip to change the bootanimation (from the one you sent here) and delete the bootsound

No problem, man. If you have time maybe you can make a short check that the fixes work (if nobody others reported before).

Yes, you can use them with S-On too.
But make a backup in recovery before, only to be safe.

Thanks, could you possibly put the framework files on a different server, the server they are currently on is a pain in the arse and have to wait over an hour between each download attempt. ive tried 3 times to download it now, also a very slow server, 2 hours to download the 300mb framework files.

Good news. i am only interested in flashing the battery % mod , should i flash before deodexed app and framework or not?? i am S-ON. Another doubt that i have is what should i back up (Bootloader ,Boot ,Recovery ,System ,Cache ,Data ,Android Secure)??
Thanks

I'm sorry and i know, but to be honest:
I tried 5-6 filehoster another filehoster and with each one my uploads were crashing after 60-80% uploaded. And to upload a rom with 560 mb i need about 4-5 hours with my internet connection. Now think about how many times i tried to upload and it was crashing the most time.
I tried dropbox, but as you have seen it causes to much traffic in only two days.
As long as i find no better/stable alternative i will stick to this hoster (cause i had no single crash with my uploads there).

I asked same question in TWRP thread, but i personally think Bootloader is not necessary (all the time).

Back it all up yes, put a tick in every box, better safe than sorry, its will only backup your phone as it is right now in its current state and yes you have to flash the framework zip first, then clear cache etc, I then rebooted my phone to the normal user state, shutdown again and back into recovery then flashed the battery mod.

Files are up now on Dev-Host AND mirrored on androidfilehost.com to provide you a good and stable availability!
Have fun!

Hopefully soon Cricket users will have one for there phones. I sent old.splatterhand a back up of my CWM backup so hopefully he will be able to work his magic with it.

SilverLight™ 5 - alpha !
Hi friends, sorry i'm too late than i expected. Day's passed on swiftly and i'm here to just release the alpha of Silverlight 5.
SilverLight 5 bug fixes are here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30734779#post30734779
Important feature is that it is based on Android 2.3.6 !
It has been ported from Alcated 918D [MTK 6573]
Everything works fine. (Special thanks to yasir bro for testing it !!!)
I also named it as Stock Android 2.3.6 update for Spice Mi-350n.
It is just stock, for now
Another important thing is that, I'm making this port an open-source port. Since, i saw new rom makers emerging, it would be easy for them to cook/build custom ROMs from this port.
One thing, if someone wants to use it, do give me an information and a credit in your thread !!

SilverLight™ 3
Features:
>> Based on Official Spice build v2 !(thanks to yasir bro!!)
-- If you are on Bala's ROM v1.5/1.01(or did not flash your phone by following this guide), then do please flash your phone with official build v2 using this guide. It takes a mere 7 minutes for you to flash it but it takes hours together for me to make one for v1.5. If you want, i can make one for v1.5 also, but it can't be released within one week. So, bear with me & do upgrade your phone to official v2 !!!
NOTE1: If you are on Bala's ROM v1.5, then you won't lose your apps. Just flash official v2 with the help of flashing tutorial and the flash SilverLight 3 !
NOTE2 (read this only after reading the flashing guide above): If you are upgrading, then in the flashing guide linked above, in step 5, i did it like & it worked : After loading the scatter file, with battery inserted,i connected the phone by pressing Back+Menu buttons. My pc detected it and i clicked Format->Download. I kept holding it till the red process completed and from there everything went fine and flashing was successful.

STEPS TO ENABLE A2SD after installing the ROM:
NOTE: If you had done this already for Bala's ROM v1.5, no need to do again.
1) Make a backup of all your sdcard files in your computer because partitioning will erase all your files.
2)Now boot in recovery --> partition sdcard --> partition sdcard --> Swap size: 0mb --> Choose size of the partition that you prefer (recommended 1024mb)(not more than 1399 mb because beta 04 supports till that only)
Let it partition your sd without any error !!
[NOTE: If you are partitioning for the 1st time with recovery, the default type of the partition will be ext2 - that is what we need & with this a2sd will work .
If you have mistakenly upgraded your partition to ext3 or ext4, then use MiniTool Partition Wizard (its free) and change your partition to ext2. Only then a2sd will work.]
Now boot normally. Now with the help of A2SD GUI app, make apps to be stored in sdcard(will be on the main-screen!). Your phone will reboot once or few times. Read more about using A2SD GUI in the following 2nd or 3rd post !!
VOILA !! a2sd is working !!! You can verify/view its space with titanium backup app !!
Now you can place all your files back on your sdcard.
With recovery you can even backup your sd-ext whenever required. (sd-ext is the place where apps which you install will be stored)

(i.e) [for beginners] Go to recovery --> Flash zip from sdcard --> choose zip from sdcard and select Balas_ROM_v1.01_GB_signed_update.zip
NOTE: Since the file is signed there is no need to disable signature verification !!
Let the installation process complete without any error.
Then reboot.
Voila !! Your new ROM is booting !!
Deodexed version may take some more time to boot than normal. Don't get afraid !

USING A2SD GUI [For v1.5+]
'A2SD settings' on the app's main screen.
------You can choose where apps that you install should be saved either in sd-ext (sdcard partition) or your internal memory.
------ 'Zipalign on boot is off' - is recommended because the ROM is already zipaligned and doing it again on boot will take more time to boot.
------'Swap is deactivated' - I have not used it.....maybe you/anyone can try and reply !
DALVIK:
-- You can choose where Dalvik cache should be saved. Go more info on Dalvik-cache, try googling n reading the wiki about it.Other things can remain the same......
---other tabs, you yourself can read & understand !!
Some more:
One thing to remember - sd-ext is like internal memory for phone, but phone can't find how much space is used or left in sd-ext. Titanium backup will help you there......
All third-party/system apps will tell that apps are installed in phone memory......you should understand that sd-ext is also like internal memory for phone and all other apps !!
Apps should be installed normally .......but your free space in internal memory will remain the same even after installing apps.....you'll notice that ur sd-ext space will be reducing........
Phone can't find how much space is left in sd-ext but titanium backup will help you to know !!
If you find decrease in phone memory even when a2sd in enabled, use a2sd gui to reinstall all app to sd-ext.....u can also type this command in terminal emulator :
su
a2sd reinstall
More over one should not move apps to sdcard in 'application settings' when using a2sd !!

DeOdexing is the process of re-bundling that uncompressed critical data (.odex files) back into your compressed .apk (& .jar) files, so that now all of the data is included in the .apk files necessary to run your applications without the presence of .odex files
In addition all the data is now included within the .jar files necessary to utilize your framework components without .odex files. In a DeOdexed file structure, there are no odex files present.
What is the benefit of DeOdexing?
Deodexing doesn't speed your phone up or do anything of the sort.
It is simply something that is necessary to be able to theme a stock ROM.
Theoratically it should slowdown phone but practically it is negligible.
zipaliging is the process of reorganizing the manner in which the .apk is packaged to optimized it for being parsed faster by the android OS, it is comparable if not better than the odex file structure, so you get the best of both worlds; a themed ROM and the speed of an optimized file structure.
If one can implement all things properly phone will defenately speed up.
i will also make custom rom... but in my vacation. till i will use others.

edit: already posted the ans !! any way i'm posting it !!
Harassing ?? Not at all !! i have no problem dude !!
Well, i don't think flashing will affect your phone because i'll have to do it many a times a day and not just 4 times !!
When ever i try and flash my ROM and many a time it'll get struck at boot screen. So i'll be restoring/flashing it many a times a day !
Still thats my view.....i dunno really !
Deodexing.........in simple terms it is like this:
Our phone splits the apks and jars (only system apks and jars) into '.odex' files for fast processing of those files ..........but when the app is split into .apk/.jar file and .odex file, it not possible to edit them and make changes. when those files are deodexed or when we flash a deodexed ROM, the two files, '.odex' file and '.apk/.jar' are combined together and we will have only the apk or jar file and not the .odex file.......hence it makes editing or modifying possible. Also, only because of this, deodexed ROM takes some more time to boot!!
So because of this we can say that it related to theming........that too 'native' theme and not just Launcher' theming which are provided by GO Launcher etc.
I hope you understand...........!! Now any one can easily make themes for our phone !! just edit framework-res.apk and SystemUI.apk, modify, test and upload !!

WARNING TO THOSE USERS ON HBOOT 2.02.002!
HBOOT 2.02.002 does not allow the System/Lib partition to be FORMATTED or WRITTEN via Recovery and/or ROM Flash (updater-script), you will need to modify the updater-script of the ROM and remove the command to format System/Lib. Not doing so will always give you an error installing the ROM.

Directions of use: NEW
1. Flash the ROM to your phone.
2. Choose your preferred customization of the ROM. (Note: AROMA Installer may break if you've pressed "BACK" a couple of times. I'm not quite sure if it's my code is the problem or a bug on AROMA.)
3. Let the phone reboot itself, it may take more or less than 5~7 minutes depending on your customization.
4. Download the latest V6 Supercharger Script.
5. Set up SuperSU even if you're not connected to the net.
6. Install any Script Manager on your phone, and run the script as root and with su privilege.
7. Let the script initialize and choose your preferred settings on first run. (I chose Rock-Hard on Kernel, then YES to all other settings.)
8. It is recommended to install the options 16, 22, then 32 when you are done.
9. Let the phone reboot and witness how blazing fast your phone is.

FAQsNEW
Hey! Changelog is different from the xda-site than on the phone?
I was not able to change the one on the ROM. I was out for a couple of weeks, I just updated the apps and kernel when I got back to xda and uploaded the ROM. I could have done a few things more, like the widgets being installable or not via AROMA, and a tweaks and other stuff but felt like this should be ok. Thus, also suggesting this is final. I'm going to be trying my own port of Desire X to Desire S from now on.
V6 Supercharged, but why do I still need to run the script?
The ROM is V6 Supercharger-ready. Necessary files for the script has been modified. I DID NOT intentionally added a pre-set setting for the ROM as for you to choose your own. Giving you the freedom to change something if you want to. The script is necessary for the other changes.
Can I install this on older HBOOTs?
I will not support HBOOTs lower than v2.xx. This maybe is time for you to upgrade.
How do I upgrade my HBOOT then?
Here's a guide.
I am on HBOOT v2.02.002, and I don't want to put up with the System/Lib problem, any solution?
You have two choices: either you modify the updater-script of the ROM (takes a minute), specifically, you need to remove the line that formats the partition "mmcblk0p28", or just put a "#"(hash tag) prior to the command;
Or you can downgrade to HBOOT 2.00.002 using a downgrade guide(takes about 5 to 10 minutes). You can try my own, check my sig.
RUUs with v1.xxx have HBOOTs with v0.98.000, while v2.xxx have HBOOTs with 2.00.002. The latest ICS RUU has the HBOOT v2.02.002.
Does not boot after flashing. What gives?
Flash the KERNEL(boot.img) manually via fastboot. Please use search on how to.
My WiFi doesn't turn on. WTF?!
See answer above. If you are on HBOOT v2.02.002, check the warning above. You will need to manually copy the files found on the "lib\modules" folder from the ROM zip file to your phone's "system\lib\modules" folder directory. Overwrite all files.
Does this has the xxx language as you said its complete?
I cannot and will not enlist the languages that are supported here. But these are all from the RUU's and ROMs that I used to have then combined all of them. Here's the list of the "codes".
Everytime my keyboard is up, there's something on my status bar. What's up with that?
It's a feature that let's you choose your keyboard. Useful for other languages. You can remove it by disabling the other keyboards. Use search on how to disable apps on ICS. You may either turn-off or remove ZingKey and/or Thai Keyboard.

It's not. It really doesn't matter which one you flash first, ROM or KERNEL. Because HTC-DEV unlocked cannot flash the KERNEL via RECOVERY.
There may also be a problem with the HBOOT 2.02.002 as it does not want to wipe/format the system/lib partition via RECOVERY as experienced from the CHS OTA release. But it can be overwritten.

Bad news for the owners of old hboots (6.98.xxxx and 0.98.2000), including myself: system + libs = 644 MB, so the new ROM will be flashable only on the new ones >= 2.00.2002, or it has to be excessively cleaned (to delete 100+ MB or move some apps to /data)

Will look into it when I have the free time again. Right now I'm testing the ROM.
Font Size
I am probably being stupid but I cannot decrease the font size. There is a setting within GMail but this does nothing. Came from Primo S where it was possible. Any suggestions.
PS Get update from HTC - Camera seems much improved and now have my WiFi tethering back!
Seems cool, are there some differences between this and mirok's way to install and then root with superSU ?
Except for the installation process.
Hi,
I think I found a bug:

Installation instructions1., Download GB H1N1v1.0 ROM file
2., Copy 2.3.6_H1N1v1.0.zip to SDcard
3., Download this CWM_ICS package (if you have ICS bootloader) or this CWM_GB package (if you have GB bootloader), extract it then turn on phone in fastboot mode - power on+volume down + connect USB cable to phone and run "fastboot load.bat"
4., MAKE BACKUP if needed, all partitions will be wiped. (excl. SD card)
5., Install zip from sd card menu then select 2.3.6_H1N1v1.0.zip and follow instructions
Recommendations- If ROM cant boot after installation or stop at bootlogo, double check your actual bootloader then select correct
- If animations are "lagging", disable it from menu (settings/screen settings/animations)
!!!HOTFIX!!!- nothing at the moment

Hello Comicmav.

I have recently installed the GB H1N1 v0.9 Rom and i realized that it is consume the battery very fast. For example in 7 hours without any use, the phone is all this period in deep sleep, hat the battery 20% decreased. Is this normal with GB or could i anything make for longer lasting battery?
Also wifi tethering seems not to work so good... i get no internet connection in my Laptop, when i use the OT-995, but it works good when i use an other mobile phone.
Thanks!!
i will always prefer a 5.3 instead of a 5.2+fix
V5.3 is nice guys.. if i can help or assist u with anything just let me know
btw if hot boot in reboot menu doesnt work u need to symlink pkill to busybox
i'm just curious... icons are alcatel's or you changed it?
currently i'm on pac rom and i'm satisfied with it but all the nice feedback for H1N1 V5 tempts me to flash it
Greetings,

My CWM and the 5504 one should work with this ROM.
i've installed it with my linked /custpack touch version and it worked fine.
It may very well be a hickup on the cache, have you wiped everything before installing? I have absolutely no idea why it would matter but for some reason /cache is messing with installation scripts based on Aroma. Now the need for an Aroma installer is not there for me so i just wiped it out and used the updater to install it without wiping data.

I wiped everything. Also it seemed that my GPU overheated on the PAC rom so I wanted to go back to a ICS rom just incase.
However it seems like I can't flash a ICS rom. Older version of H1N1 don't seem to work and the ICS+ from mistercheese also fails to boot....
(PAC still boots flashes)
Also after some inspection it seems like the Aroma installer takes a bit long on the Boot Partition or something.

I'd restore that one before i attempted a new install, just use OTU to restore it to factory and then fastboot flash recovery cwm-yaydyaydyd.img and flash the ROM from there.
You can also try to flash the boot.img with fastboot or just boot the boot.img with fastboot boot yayayay.img
You didn't dd anything after i told you i successfully used dd, did you? because that may be the cause and you really shouldn't do that.
Actually, never dd anything EVER unless it's in my multiboot script or i'm asking you to do it.

GThrill ROM for JIAYU G3
The latest version GThrill ROM is based on "CM10" rom from needrom.com. I have applied some tweaks, removed some apps, added some and added option for the selection of EN (ph, us) language. The original purpose was for personal use, but I thought to share it, in case anyone wants to try.

First of all tkank you for the development of this awsome rom. I don´t know if what I´m asking is possible, but why don´t you contact JDStar, who has developed another multilanguage lewa rom and ask him for permissions to add the tranaslations to your rom? This is the link to his rom:

CMW recovery flashed but no go
Hi there,
I tried to get into the newly flashed CWMR but somehow I've failed. What I've done is use mobileuncle tools to get into CWM 5 and from there flash the zipfile I've downloaded from the sources. Now the CWM app does boot into recovery but I get this little android figure with a ! from it's belly. Not good I suppose.
I'd realy like to try out this rom but without working recovery I'm a bit scared I'm going to brick the thing....
Could you please advise??
Greetings,
Andreas
i use gthrill for a couple of days and the only problem i have is that when i open the wifi after some time the signal in one of my two sim drop....
i have it in all roms i try...
Installed last night.
Looks nice, work fine, stable. Well done
I have only one issue.
USB won't work.
When Jiayu is connected to PC, USB storage is not recognised. Any solution for this?

Didn't work. Got it working using the dd method (way easier if you ask me ).
Now, I've installed CWM 5.5.0.4 in /dev/recovery but when trying to flash the zip file for the LewaOS rom it gives me 'cannot open file'. Is that because I need the newer version of CWM mentioned in the opening post? Or just something else? Perhaps because there's 'spaces' in the filename? I'll let you know if I find something out there !
** Update **
I downloaded the correct rom but still no go It just doesn't want to install the rom...

Hi
Reflashed again.
Everything is fine.
I think is slower than original ICS 4.0.4 ROM, but stable and good.
Keep up good work!
***Update:***
Battery life much improved, at least 15-20%
I found this ROM very good so far.
There's only small issue with some mobile web sites. Some of the links cannot be open.
I've installed Opera browser in addition but is exactly the same so
I'm not sure: maybe there is a problem in ROM or badly written mobile web sites.
Thanks a lot

Whoohooo, first time my name appears on a ROM development!!!
But I've got to say it's really a great rom, and for the first time I'm not sad about not beeing able to unlock my bootloader. Can wait a couple more years until someone figures that one out.
Great job gavster26.

Don't format sdcard with CWM.
Download ROM again, it could be corrupted.

I've already installed a previous rooted version of this rom, and now this. A few times until I got it right. From the beggining to end, maybe 30/40 minutes. It's not that long. But I really hope that someone manages to put cwm working on JB.
But you should update to this rom, since it has Flashgordon working and any changes that are made to it will be easilly flashable.
Ok I'll try once again
