MOD Requests - 3/20/12 - CLOSED - 9/16/13 - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

AS OF 6/26/13 I AM NO LONGER TAKING REQUESTS.
If you have any MODs you would like for a specific ROM, please kindly request for me to make it for you. I can't promise I can make it, my skills are limited. Also, if it's a really heavy duty MOD (a lot of code, and time consuming) I may have to turn it down because of the sheer amount of time it would take to accomplish. The more requests for a given MOD, those will be done first.
I only ask you hit the "Thanks" button. It's just a sign of respect.
I do not ask of donations, BUT, I am very broke, and I do this on my very limited free time for MODs I do not use 99% of the time, I do this for the community, so if you can donate, it will be kindly accepted and highly appreciated and recognition in the second OP BUT please DO NOT feel obligated or pressured to donate, I do the MODs in terms of how easily I can get them done, so please don't feel like I am ignoring you, it's just so much is going on it's extremely hard to keep up, please also feel free to PM me if I haven't responed about the MOD and you maybe asked twice or something it's 100% not intentional so a PM will let me know, and I won't forget.
Also keep in mind this is a MOD thread not a goto for how to flash them. I ask that you please leave those questions out of the thread or PM me. If a MOD for example edits a file let's say SystemUI.apk and then you flash another one with the SystemUI.apk you are replacing the work done in the first flashed MOD. Please keep this in mind and open the .zips before flashing. Most things are not compatible if same file and needs to be edited.
If trying to donate, and the button isn't working for you my PayPal is [email protected] - thank you all so much for the donations they are so highly appreciated and go to great causes!

MOD Requests
VRBMF1

To developers, please ASK
True "Blocking Mode"

With MANY thanks to loserskater he kindly found my error and got the Volume Skip MOD working 100% (I haven't tested these, keep in mind it edits the same .jar file as in APM and/or menu to kill. so if you want that mod or don't want that MOD, and it's included in one of the .zips, let me know. Also, now I can port this to other 4.1.2 ROMs, and probably 4.1.1 as well, so if you would like that let me know)

Re: MOD Requests - 3/18/12
I love the dedication man. Thanks for starting this thread... I was thinking of PM'ing you about this request too. Beans is about to drop B13 with no long press to kill mod baked in. What are the chances that the 'hold menu to kill' flashable zip from your CR 6 theme thread will work? Not sure if Beans made any changes to android.policy.jar or not.
(I know that this is a lil premature, but just throwing it out there)

This is a simple MOD, so once Beans drops his B13 ROM, I'll make a new .zip based off his android.policy.jar so as to not have any issues.

i would love the status bar expanded xml edit to get rid of the verizon wireless. everything i've tried just is riddled with errors recompiling. i can cover it by expanding the tw statusbar on and off pngs, but it still comes thru if i don't match the color perfectly.

Easiest fix... either
1. in tw_status_bar_expanded.xml remove @id/carrier_label with android:text="blah, blah"
2. in same file just remove @id/carrier_label

[THEME/MOD][AROMA][ICS] Style your ROM your way v2.2

ROM developers already spend enough time to provide a quality product, but not all of us are always 100% happy with the way the ROM looks. Theme developers will make different themes for a particular ROM, but even still not everyone wants every change introduced in the theme. It can be cumbersome for developers and themers alike to thoroughly please each of its followers. That's where I'd like to change the game with the GSIII - rather than having to rely on a themer to make something that looks close to what you'd like, you'll be put in the driver seat and choose your own modifications.
What options are you presented with?
- Battery style
- Clock position and color (stock grey or ics blue)
- Brightness slider (won't work on stock ROMs)
- Placement of the date/clear button bar
- Transparency % of the notification area
- Lidroid toggle style (keep your current or use my slimmed ICS blue ones)
- Number of lidroid toggles shown w/o scrolling
- Text labels or not below those toggles
However, these changes can't be made possible without a little side effect. In this first version, the style of the clock, date, clear button, and toggles use the ICS blue color. In future versions of the theme system, additional styles will be provided!

Installation Instructions
- Flash with your recovery of choice
- On your first round of things, use the "Create master backup" option in the menu. This will create an ultimate restore point of what your phone currently looks like. You will always be able to restore back to this point if you wish!
- Flash the zip again in the same recovery session (I'll make this more streamlined in the next update)
- Theme things as you wish
- Reboot your phone and enjoy
Download v2.2
Hit thanks, enjoy the theme edits, and let me know what you'd like in future versions!

Correct. Flash it from whichever recovery you use - should work fine on CW or TWRP.
Everyone, once you've tried the thing out and played with it to create maybe 1 or 2 styles, feel free to provide some suggestions of what you'd like for version 2. Unless you guys have some objections, the next thing I'll be working on is a JB styled notification area. Did anybody actually like the TouchWiz style? I found it to be ugly, but if enough people wanted it I'll provide that as another available theme to use in v2.

This is pretty awesome. Only thing I would change is the white background on the installer. It is super bright.....

I may be interpreting your first post wrong but you plan to allow for color picks or just different theme choices in the future?
And how about lockscreen options?
30% transparent on the statusbar might be the sweet spot for me. Any chance of adding increments of 10, rather than 20?

[MOD] Lockscreen Mod, including SystemUI changes

Hi there,
I decided to share some changes I made to the UI, mostly to the Lockscreen as I didn't like Moto's icons.
This is "take it or leave it" If you don't agree to the things I like, please do it by yourself or leave this package alone.
This is a CWM-package, install it from there. The package will replace framework-res.apk, SystemUI.apk and MotGallery.apk and will delete the *.odex files, so this Mod works for odexed and deodexed systems JB 91.2.26001 en.EU.
What I did:
(framework-res.apk)
- changed icons for new lockscreen (AOSP style)
- removed the silent switch
- removed phone and messaging shortcut
- removed the SOS icon
- removed the dividers
- new lockscreen circle
- reworked the music lockscreen widget
- changed blue gradient background in many apps to solid black (since v1.4)
- changed LED blinking rate from 800/3200ms to 500/1500ms
- 2 versions to flash: Notification LED in green (standard) or blue, see attachments
(SystemUI.apk)
- removed the carrier label in status bar completely
- changed the GSM signal to standard Holo color (blue)
- reworked the standard battery icon to fit the blue of the clock, made it slightly smaller and nicer (especially the red battery icon)
- reworked signal cluster completely, no gap anymore between Wifi and GSM icon
Caution: in order to get the white camera icon working, I needed to change the standard camera icon of MotCamera.apk - so this apk will be exchanged too!
Caution: Since version 2.0 there is no need to change MotCamera.apk anymore, so I left it out of the CWM package. If you flashed the old LockscreenMod and want the stock camera (with a new fancy blue icon, see screenshot!) back, just flash JB-Camera.zip in CWM, too. This must only be done once! Clear cache and dalvik afterwards.
If you never flashed my Mod before, you don't need to flash Camera (but you may if you want).
Enjoy!
And please make a backup first, just for your convenience.
Update 1.1:
- found a nicer drag handle, added it in framework-res.apk
Update 1.2:
- changed notification LED blinking rate from 800ms/3200ms (ON/OFF) to 500ms/1500ms (unreceived calls, GMail...)
Update 1.3
- reworked signal cluster in SystemUI.apk with new standard Holo icons, no gap between Wifi and GSM icon anymore
- smaller drag handle in lockscreen, finally found the standard one
- 2 versions: Notification LED in blue or standard green (for unreceived calls, messaging, GMail, ...)
Update 1.4
- changed blue gradient background in many apps to solid black
Update 1.4.1
- Changed Lockscreen circle to a half circle
Update 2.0
- Completely rewritten unlock circle, just AOSP now, see screenshots!
- reworked music control, so that the circle fits in a whole
- since v2.0 you don't need to change MotCamera.apk anymore, read above!
Update 2.0t
- added a transparent music widget for v2.0-blue (date and carrier half transparent too)
Update 2.1
- lock circle stays in same position now, regardless if music widget is active or not
- removed carrier label, so that lock circle is in the lower third (you can see carrier if you slide down status bar)
- full date instead of abbreviated weekday (Germany only)
- from now on I will only maintain the "blue LED/transparent widget" version, as I use it myself
Update 2.1a
- same as 2.1, but with a menu button instead of the recent button, see here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42274692&postcount=115
Nice one does what it says on the tin :thumbup:

It's only possible to change the color for ALL notifications. Standard color (Mail, SMS, unreceived call, GMail) is green. Yes, this could be changed, but only for all apps together.
If you need separate colors, use LightFlow from market.
[edit]
There you go, I updated the OP with 2 new zip's, enjoy!
New version 1.4.
This will be the last update for the next time as I am completely satisfied
BLACK background instead of the blueish gradient tint in most apps and settings, looks so much nicer now. Try it with black themed Messaging.apk, looks really wonderful.
Can I use your mod ? I want to add 1% battery icon to it, and remove white and blue circles on lockscreen.
BTW. Great mod, thanks.

Nothing I ldon't like how the blue circle looks at all, and the white gets truncated when sound widget is visible, so I've removed both them. It looks simpler, but I like it. I'll upload picture tommorow.
Although I didn't want to update, I took your inspiration to create a new (half) lockscreen circle with a small blue one, see screenshots in OP.
Just a minor update to 1.4.1

Personally I prefer the smaller standard clock, but you may change it by yourself in /res/values/styles.xml in SystemUI.apk
Interesting though that I removed the "-6.0dip" margin at the Wifi icon and we can see now, that AOSP has it in, it overlaps the signal bar... sigh. Thought this was Motorola's fault.
Sure you can use everything in your mod if you like it!
(i.e. it costs $10 per changed code line )

Sorry to be a noob, but how do I edit SystemUI.apk? All my versions of apktool and aapt fail when trying to decompile it, and in 7zip I cannot find /res/values/
Try it with these files, these are mine:

You need correct JB framework though.
This is nice. Thank you for your effort!
Can you do that "sprinkle" lock button from AOSP?

Are you the one person downloading?
I updated the mod minutes after that, because the unlock button was slightly screen off. Look at your lock icon when unlocking, if it's capped, you have the wrong package, just download again.
Thanks for your kind words!
Definitely nice work dude, I like it. I'm currently uploading an AOSP Black Out Pack, of course all Credits are given to you.
What I would like to see is the Eclipse 1% Battery Icon (Request )

Thanks very much!
Regarding 1% Battery: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWaLxFIVX1s
Maybe there's another one who likes to implement this, not me, sorry
[edit]
Your standard BlackOutPack is missing the MotCamera.apk - you used the old framework in that package, this should be together in that case, as the "old" lockring uses the icon of the MotCamera.apk.
Either add the cam, or use only the new AOSP package, there is no changed camera needed. Just FYI to minimize support requests

Multi window sometimes doesn't pick the correct app. A work-around is if it starts putting in the wrong apps, scroll to the top of the list and put the very first app in the bar, after that it should work again. User help.
If this doesn't work please use the Aroma MW app in Misc, or use exposed frameworks.
Lidroid toggles may become out of alignment, turn on auto-rotate, open an application that rotates, and rotate the phone, then once you rotate back, it'll go back to normal. Very rare.

FAQ:
Q: Tethering is not working? What can I do to get it to work?
A: First remove any .apk of TrevE's first. Then please download THIS .apk kindly provided to us by TrevE.
This is NOT a flash-able.zip, put the .apk and on the root of your SD-Card/ Internal Storage, and install the .apk
Once installed, (make sure WIFI is OFF and 4G is ON)
Click Menu > Access Control and click the button that says "enable" - it should now say at the top "Access-Control is enabled"
go back to the .apk
Now, tap Yellow Tethering button
Then, connect your Device
On the phone, you will see in the notifications pull down the Device you are trying to connect, click it (in the below images, mine is "Andrew-PC")
You will be brought back into the Menu > Access Control part of the Tethering.apk
Now authorize the Device Access by clicking the device under "Connected/Authorize Clients:" and press apply
Tethering should now be working.
Here are some images to help show the instructions and how things should look.

Q: When using Stock E-mail application and scrolling though an E-mail, the screen flashes black, how do I fix this and why does it happen?
A: Go into Settings > Developer Options > and UN-Check "Force GPU Rendering" to fix the issue. This is not a fault to the ROM, but to all our 4.1.2 ROMs, nothing can be done to fix it besides what is described above. GPU Rendering is hard coded into the ROM anyway.
Q: How does native call recording work?
A: When on a call, or during an incoming call, works for both, press menu > sound record. You can find the sound recording in SD-Card > Sounds.
Q: How do I change the day of the week size, move the clock or remove AM/PM from status bar?
A: All of this is part of Didact74's great clockMod2.0 MOD, and you can find the settings to change size/remove the AM/PM/Day of Week, and can move the location of the clock in Settings > Date and Time.
Q: Where are all the custom kernels!?
A: I had to make a choice for kernels, and I chose not to include them. I cannot and will not support any: random reboots, bad battery life, overheating, etc. once you flash a custom kernel. Anything related to those types of issues are not related to the ROM and IS kernel related. However, If you'd like to use a custom kernel, please do. A great tutorial for using custom kernels can be found HERE.
Q: I want *X* feature included into the ROM, will you do this and if not why?
A: This depends. I will ALWAYS take all opinions, options and feedback into consideration. If I am capable, skill wise, of doing the work then I will do my best to provide this feature to you. I cannot promise though, that I can achieve every goal set forth in front of me but I promise I will do my best to make every one happy.
Q: I use the PIN lock screen but also want to use the torch home button lock screen MOD, how can I do this?
A: BEFORE setting up the security lock screen, make sure to CHECK the toggle for this MOD found in settings > lock screen > lock screen options > Lock Screen Torch
Q: I just flashed v** and it's show v** what do I do?
A: I sometimes forget things, and if it's showing the wrong build number please check the Add-On's section.
Q: I picked the Simple Alarm Clock Widget in Aroma and it's showing up all black, what is going on!?
A: Please download the appropriate Add-On.
Q: What is "Blocking Mode" and how to do get to it/use it? Also when using it, how do I remove the annoying persistent notification?
A: Blocking Mode is a feature that comes with the Samsung Galaxy S3, but Verizon made Samsung take it away from us. Most of the coding was already in the ROM. Just some certain things were not working. I was able to port the missing smali code over to our VZW applications to make this work 100%.(Spent a total of over 40 hours to get this coded..) To access Blocking Mode, go into the app drawer and open "AdvanceS" then select the toggle "Dormant Mode" (this is Blocking Mode) you will now see the toggle for Blocking Mode with the rest of the toggles. You can Long press this toggle to activate Blocking Mode, or toggle it and select the notification in the pull down bar. To remove the persistent notification I added the option to toggle this on/off. In the settings you will find a toggle, check, or UN-check this. Here is what it looks like.
/
Q: Why would you ever remove the Battery "On-The-Fly" MOD!?
A: Good Question. I really do love ALL of Didact74's MODs and I hated to have to remove it. It's a great MOD, made by a great DEV who is more than willing to share his work, . It was a choice of personal preference though. Unless you change your battery every day or so, flashing the provided .zip honestly takes about 45 seconds total from reboot to Aroma, and then back to ROM. There is no need to wipe anything, and the .zip also allows for other status bar changes such as battery color, and lidroid toggle options. Also, it was removed for future battery additions. To add a new battery into Aroma only requires a few minutes to edit the scripting. This is much easier than having to edit the Settings.apk AND the SystemUI.apk .smali codes, and add all the new images. This also keeps the size of the SystemUI.apk down, and I can edit it and re-compile much faster. With all the batteries baked into the .apk it would honestly take over an hour to compile, so if I had to change just one simple thing it would take forever, and having multiple versions of the SystemUI.apk (2 for just the Aroma brightness slider alone, between the ROM/Theme and Add-on.zips there is about 8 SystemUI.apk's I need to keep up-to-date) s0 it just wasn't working out, and I also think that this Aroma is working great. Aroma is very cool, and easy to understand, and also allows the user to edit things.
First, will check this out. Thanks!

Sorry I should have been more specific, the bloat is baked into Aroma. I made that .zip before I made the ROM, just wanted to give the option for it. If there is anything I left out and isn't in Aroma it's in the bloat.zip but I can gladly add it in to Aroma, but I don't think I missed anything.

Good question, I'll update the OP to say what's in Aroma.
But, Aroma has option for stock, 5x4 and 5x6 layout launchers.
For the AOSP theme, i had to disable ripple effect before installing the theme or otherwise you can't boot into the rom. After that it works fine.

Screenshot Functionality statusbarr Mod for G2 Kitkat
Statusbar Screenshot Functionality MOD
Due credit and thanks to @sportik555 who made it for xperia devices but with minor changes and troubleshooting and playing around, I managed to get it for our G2.
Sometimes it becomes irritating taking screenshots using the back button combination and so I thought of adding an invisible button to status bar. Location of this button is to the extreme left where the date is displyed. To the extreme right is the Power/Screen off button. Just so that if you accidentally take a screenshot, I have added a delete button to the Notification for screenshot taken which will allow you to delete the screenshot from Notification directly instead of opening the file manager. The mod has the following features which are inbuilt in addition to screenshot Functionality:
Features
-Cyan Icons
-Hidden lockscreen button on pressing clock in statusbar
-Revamped Silent Icon
Signal Wifi Integrated icons
-Android L Themed Navigation Bar
-Navigation key pressed glow themed to Android L type
- Increased size of date & Format
-G2 home key in home screen
-G3 style notification panel.
-Dual Network speed indicator (statusbar & pulldown)
As this mod is a complex one involving framework-res id knowledge at the moment it has been made for 20B indian rom. I will make for other roms if files are provided to me. PLEASE BACKUP BEFORE FLASHING....
NOW some screenshots to explain what I mean:
Screenshots:
Some might not want the screenshot button so I am attaching two versions of the mod. Take your pick:
DOWNLOAD:
V1- With Delete Screenshot in Notification But No screenshot button
V2- With Delete Screenshot in Notification But & With hidden screenshot button in status bar date
Installation: Simply flash the downloaded zip in recovery and enjoy the MOD

Potato statusbar mod-change clock on the go
POTATO CLOCK MOD---CHANGE CLOCK ON THE GO-NO XPOSED-NO REBOOT
I BRING TO YOU THE POTATO CLOCK STATUSBAR MOD. IT IS BASED ON THE MOD CREATED BY @mariozawa IN HIS THREAD HERE , SO DUE THX AND CREDITS FOR HIS WORK.
I HAVE INTEGRATED THE MOD IN THE STOCK G2 KITKAT ROM LGSYSTEMUI.APK ,THE BEST PART OF THIS CLOCK MOD IS YOU CAN CHANGE THE
--CLOCK TYPE,
--CLOCK PLACEMENT ,
--CLOCK COLOR
--HIDE CLOCK
--AM/PM SIZE
--ADD REMOVE DATE,DAY,MONTH,YEAR,SECONDS....ETC TO THE CLOCK
--TEXTUAL CLOCK IE. TIME IN WORDS...
--PERSONALIZED TEXT
--AND MANY MORE OPTIONS..........
I have included the mod in the stock statusbar so you need not compile decompile.....just flash and you are good to go.
The flashable zip file now takes of odex/deodex roms...so you need not worry, you may be on either one, the mod takes care of it.
After flashing the mod you must reboot and you will see an app called "potatoclock". Open this and do your choice of things to change the clock....
Note-intially the first time you boot the clock might not show appropriately and the code is integrated into the statusbar. But once you open the potato clock and configure all will be well. Also at times the clock tends to refresh so do not worry, all is well
In the original thread the center clock did not work properly and there was overlapping of notifications but i have had this fixed.(perfect centering method)
Best part is that no reboot necessary and you can change on the go anytime
Installation -just download zip and flash in recovery
Reboot.....enjoy the mod
DOWNLOAD
THE LGSYSTEMUI IS DEODEXED AND PURE STOCK WITH SELECTIBLE SLIDERS. USE APKTOOL 1.5.2 IF YOU WISH TO ADD OTHER MODS TO IT....FILE DECOMPILES JUST FINE

no the way he center the clock would not apply to the g3 roms which is why I have had so many problem with trying to center clock on g3
Can i ask why using the whole apks instead of vrtheme engine?
Isnt it better to just decompile and recompile the apks on the fly and just change only the necessary files? Smaller size and probably universal mods.
The mod is running great as I mentioned above. But does it need to be updated to the new 20f version? Any risk?
I haven't received that update if you can give me the Lgsystemui.apk, Lgsystemui.odex lgres.apk lgres.odex and framework-res.apk I can make and post it for download in OP

My bad, I require either your deodexed apk or the entire framework folder for deodexing myself...without that a proper mod wouldnt be possible. Just send me a link to the entire framework folder under /system on your phone.
do you have kitkat style g3 mod without speed indicator?
thanks

[THEME] Touchwiz...ish Theme for LG G3 v1.3.3

Hello everyone!
I'd like to present the first "real theme" for LG G3
The story behind is that I just hate LG's UI, it's so childish and cartoonish and just awfull so I wanted to change that, I want a different theme, a better one.
First I wanted a stock theme but for that everyone can flash a stock aosp rom and for G3 roms there are plenty of aosp theme and then it hit me...Samsung...Touchwiz...more precisely Galaxy S7's Touchwiz so I started working on that and trust me, LG's own framework is a pain in the a*s. It was so difficult and hard to get that but finally I did it.
So now I present you my theme, Touchwiz...ish Theme for LG G3 (based on Fulmics 4.2)

these icons are also missing in notification drawer.
You know, I installed Fulmics just to use your theme. I always liked the colours used by Touchwiz.
I love it. Great work again! You're really good at this!
Hi, best theme i have ever used, really good work!
i found glitch at the search in the app drawer, just like the one in the contact app and also the color at lg's internet browser wont change to the one in the notification panel.
@marinalin85
can I use it even with xposed flat style bars? or it will bump and causes fc?

That's because touchwiz use "Search" text while LG just use an image. I'm sure he will figure something out.

The theme just replace the original ones in your rom, so yeah, you can use Flat Style Bars Indicators.
P.S: I'm using Flat Style Bars.
