How much data is to much? I don't want to send any red flags about my account which already may be to late because I'm at 12gb lol.

I have unlimited too, and I use around 5 GB without tethering and haven't heard anything from Verizon.
I also read somewhere that it's unlimited users on 3G phones that get throttled and have issues. Phones with 4G data don't get throttled or taken notice by Verizon. A quick Google search can show some talk supporting the statement, so that's something to think about!

Holy crap! And I thought my record of 113gb was insane! What do you do?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app

I generally go through about 12-50gb a month...just depends on how much 4g time I can get my hands on lol.

a close friend of mine uses 60-80 per month streaming HD video (netflix, nhl gamecenter, nfl games, etc) and has never heard anything. Just another point of data for context

Oh yeah lol. I'm thinking about canceling my cable internet because I don't get the speeds advertised. Sad my phone has a better and more consistent connection than my cable internet.

We top 5% 4G users might be "flagged" in the future and be placed on "verizon network optimization."

I've been hearing that forever. Its not going to happen. Due to situations outside of my control I needed to ditch my unlimited. And I miss it ever day
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app

Why would we get flagged? We have unlimited data. We chose not to buy a phone subsidized by Verizon so that we can keep unlimited data.
I am the IT guy for a church and school and I've upgraded 10 users to 4G phones through eBay and Craigslist. One of our staff members uses 40GB a month, I use about 15 GB. All of us go well over 2 GB, but what does it matter? We have unlimited data!
It would stand to reason that AT&T users with grandfathered unlimited plans are more abundant than us since they can still upgrade through AT&T and keep unlimited data.
I don't see why anyone would get flagged. The number of unlimited data VZW users will only decrease over time. Verizon makes more money than anyone. They add towers practically every week.
I say, sit back, and soak up the data!

I run my entire house off my wifi tether. No cable, no internet only my galaxy s3....I'm a flashaholic... so i switch between roms almost daily. Running three cpu's and two phones off the connection. Grandfathered contact like a mug lol

Pay per mb hack

Is there a way to use the pay per mb plan but use as much data as you want without having to pay for every mb you use.
Sent from my galaxy s 4g using XDA app
I wouldn't even think about that.. It's most likely illegal and impossible.
True. Would this internet plan be fine for me if I'm just gonna occasionally check twitter

If your just doing that, yeah, it's more worth it than a monthly data plan.

I have three lines on a 5 gig"unlimited"plan. I stream pandora most of the day and so does my wife, My sister in law never gets off facebook, plus skype with my parents on weekends. We have never gone over 3 gigs and not much wifi use involved. I think you have to be tethering our doing some insane downloading to peak out a plan.
It's not really a plan you just per mb you use
Sent from my galaxy s 4g using XDA app
I think I'm gonna go with the 200 mb plan just so I can use the web more
Sent from my galaxy s 4g using XDA app
I'm on the 2gig 4G plan and thinking about dropping down, actually. Using the net and downloading aps/games/books I've never gone over 400megs in a month even tethering. Unless you're downloading movies or the like you don't really use a ton of bandwidth.
Twitter shouldn't really have much of an impact.
If you have wifi access most or all the time than a 200mb plan is surely enough but if your not but just checking twitter and maybe a couple of other things than your fine. I personally do alot of google maps, pandora, market, netflix, xda, games that require data, and more but im on a 5gig plan and i usually dont ever go over that even if i tether just to check my online mmorpg's hehe
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA Premium App
the problem with the 200mb plan is it will no longer be unlimited like the other plans where your speed is throttled. tmobile is going to start charging overage fees on that plan. (i dont know the date that it starts though)
I'm thinking 200 mb should definitely be enough. When I goto add that plan I have to call customer service right??

Unlimited, the same as every other smartphone on Sprint. The only limit is on data used while roaming.

Yes and no. You have unlimited data yes... but if you pass 5GB of Sprint 4G or in-network 3G for 3 consecutive months, you'll get a call from the compliance department.

So unlimited really isn't unlimited is that what your saying? I just signed up with sprint 2 weeks ago and I am up to 12 gig as of tonight so I guess I should lay low for a bit then. The carriers are making money big time with this bandwidth crap. I use 2 terabite a month on my servers and it cost me 15.00 so I have no idea what all this fuss is about. Thanks for the tip though...

NO you wont. Stop spreading bad information. The only way to get a call or letter from sprint is excessive roaming. Tethering is limited to 5gb. Or torrenting.

I'm not spreading bad information. Go to your local (corporate) Sprint store and ask for a hard copy of your contract. It states 5GB on Sprint network, 300MB roaming. The compliance department will only get involved if your line is flagged. Only 2 ways I'm aware of to get flagged, #1 roam excessively (voice, data, or both) for 3 consecutive months, #2 use excessive Sprint bandwidth on a congested tower, or area for 3 consecutive months.
Your bandwidth cap DOES NOT change with the tethering add-on; you are just notified without a hard copy of the existing caps.
It's not Sprint actually supplying DATA services to the towers, but another ISP that sells bandwidth to Sprint. I know that only because I've had to upgrade some hardware at the Notre Dame Campus Sprint antennas, and the internet connection was supplied by Comcast.

32GB is a bit excessive, but this Guy may not have a computer/internet at home so he uses his phone. Literally 2GB can be burned in a day easily, just using it moderately. (ie, how Sprint, VZW, AT&T, etc, portray in their ads)

Data has always been capped. Not to a point where they limit/charge, but if you look at the hard copy (full paper printed copy) it says you have 5GB as stated in the acceptable use policy portion of the contract. Look it up at Sprint.com or a Sprint store.

im with you... I've tried everything imaginable... at least when verizon had unlimited, it was truly unlimited. I'll never forget a couple years ago when 3G/LTE went down in the Savanahh, GA area when I was stationed at Fort Stewart, I called Verizon and said "Im not getting data, do you throttle services?" Rep said "We shouldn't unless you're in the top 5% of subscribers, let me check your account"... clickety click click click of the keyboard "...oh my. I have to say, that is the highest useage I've ever personally seen. You're at 33 GB of LTE used.". I was only 12 days into my billing period at the time
There is a company called telcel America I used them for 4 months they had unlimited service for 45 a month no throttling whatsoever to the best of my knowledge they ran on on tmobiles network I used 5 gig a month 10 MBS down 2 up 2 weeks ago they stopped but they still have the $60 plan that you get unlimited talking to mexico I think sorry do the badly written post in a rush will update later

That's what I like about the $30 Monthly4G plan, I haven't hit the 5gb soft cap yet. And vonage mobile works great for extra free minutes.
I used to have the T-Mobile Unlimited 3G plan when I had a BlackBerry, and I would regularly break 20-30GB data on it when I was still going to school and still be able to maintain 3G speeds.
When I upgraded to the Blaze I was forced to switch to their new "Unlimited" plan, which seems to choke the speeds down around 5-6GB. Although this month I'm already around 7GB and I still pull in decent H+ speeds between 8 and 12Mbps, so maybe they only restrict the speeds during peak hours or something.
I have been doing research(ugh. feels like school lol) and I stumbled upon this. Since I've been using the UVMC Radio from the Hercules I think this should work. Note. It says to do these methods before getting throttled. I don't know if it works because I am getting throttled already..
