I'm very disappointed with the purported Verizon Galaxy S4 specs - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Snapdragon S4Pro/600 is the last thing I wanted in this phone
If it has to be this way, I hope that everyone gets the same hardware worldwide
No more NA/international split

Cool!

What's your issue with the S4 Pro? Just wondering.
I wish it was the 800 but that won't be out til later so... Oh well. Maybe the Google X phone will have it? Though Motorola doesn't usually use snapdragon chips.

Erm, pretty much the only reason the S3 didn't get a exynos was because, at the time, quad core cpus didn't work with LTE. The reason the Note 2 has a Exynos quad is because they do work with LTE now. That being said, do you really think Samsung is going to use a processor from another manufacturer?

Honest question, can any of you actually tell the difference if two phones with exact hardware except cpu tell a difference?

If the cost of sourcing processors from somewhere else is less than that of producing and using the Exynos, I see no problem with it.

I thought I'd chime in since I have a Charge and also a Nexus in the household. Nexus has been working perfect, no LTE dropping issues or anything like that. It does display 1 bar lower than the Charge, but that doesn't affect the performance of the phone.

But it's stock 4.0! It's just no comparison to Gingerbread, no exaggerating. It's so much more refined, so much smoother and user friendly. If you can wait a few days for inventory to catch up/delivery you can get it on Wirefly for $240, Amazon ~$200?
These LTE phones are expensive at the $300 price tag, but considering Verizon has 200 million people covered by the 4G network s impressive. My are has LTE everywhere, and only T-mobile has their FauxG as well. No one else.

No I'd rather pay $300 for a TouchWiZ UI.
AOSP is one of the main reasons I bought the nexus. I would gladly pay for the AOSP experience.
I have owned 3 Samsung smatphones. Fascinate, charge and Captivate. I always wondered why people complained about TW. I thought TW was a good UI. Until I used full AOSP.
The difference is HUGE. Don't get me wrong I loved my Charge minus the data drop issue, with the latest gingerbread OTA the charge became a much better device.
I am sure quad core phones will be coming soon but that's no reason to knock the galaxy nexus or someone else's purchase decision.
See, When you buy your quad core phone the next generation of android hardwarw will be just around the corner.
The bottom line is no matter which device you buy, you will always be just behind the next big thing.
The only thing you can do to combat this is buy a GOOGLE device. That way you at least will have the latest software. Just my two cents.

Nexus tablet?

Whatever happened to the nexus tablet? There is no word on it anymore. Has it been scrapped? Any other tablets coming up soon? I'm in the market for one and was wondering what tablets are lined up this year.

I remember reading that it was supposed to come out in or around July. Supposedly being built by ASUS and with a $249 or lower price point. I have so far been completely underwhelmed by every Android tablet to date, but at $249 I would pick one up just for the heck of it.
There's the Asus MeMO pad. High specs at $250.
I'm also waiting for this. I hope we hear something soon.

I believe the MeMO pad became the Nexus Tab. Last I heard, they were ditching the Tegra 3 in favor of a cheaper dual core SoC, and aiming to to get it down into the 149-199 range to go toe to toe with the Kindle Fire. Haven't heard much since though.
I think they r trying to keep it on the down low and surprise everyone. Rumors were June iirc

Oh I cant wait. not wanting anything else but an android tablet but it seems hard to pick the right one. I hope the Nexus Tablet ends all that.
I'm definitely getting a tablet soon, but I'm not really interested in Tegra devices. I guess I'll wait for something with an Exynos quad, but I guess I'll have to wait in that case, Samsung will probably make it an exclusive of the S3, at least for a while. I hope I'm wrong tho...

The way Verizon did the Galaxy Nexus I would think Sammy would be discouraged to start with Verizon. ATT got the Note, Sprint just got the Nexus, maybe it's Tmo's turn for a break-sclusive. with no LTE, I wonder if Tmo's, will have the Exynos SoC?
I guess I don't really care, it looks like I'm with AT&T and the Skyrocket for awhile.

The only logical upgrade after the skyrocket is a quad core phone with LTE built into the chip set only. I don't care what company does it but that's who I'm buying.
I want more power, more battery and LTE. Only one good way of achieving that so I'm really hoping that when Samsung said 4G integrated on the S3, they were talking about LTE.

Lets wait to see what Qualcomm has up there sleaves in regards to there first quad-core processor .. maybe Qualcomm can figure out the bug before both Samsung and nVidia does .. hopefully.

Pfft. The specs aren't really "better" than the U.S. version. It has a slightly better GPU, at the cost of 1gb of ram and LTE (not that LTE is even relevant for most people lol). Neither. Go for a nexus phone. Nexus s/galaxy nexus/nexus 4.
Bought Galaxy Nexus a year ago for the same purpose, worked like a charm for me. I would suggest to go with Nexus too. There are very popular and hacker friendly.
Strictly for hacking/dev-ing, the Nexus 4/Galaxy Nexus. For hacking/dev-ing while retaining a lot of common features (removable battery, expandable storage), Galaxy S3 or Note 2.
Thats right. Nexus is best
