double check that your apn is correct. if it is, then try to go to settings in message app and select auto download attachment option.

sorry, i origionally thought you were talking about mms/sms, my bad for reading to fast. Are you rooted or stock? If you are rooted I would full wipe reflash boot and start over. If you are on stock non rooted I would go to settings/backup & reset. then untick backup my setting, and automatic restore then press reset phone.

Everything is OK for me.
You could check in Settings - Sync, send & receive setting - Receive settings - Mail size limit to make the limit bigger, hope that'll help.

Same problem here, need help.
Thank you

Why don't you try using a different email app like K9 or Aqua Mail. The stock HTC mail app lacks many basic features that you will find available in other apps.

Market Auto Sync Apps on Fresh Install

So I have flashed a few roms now, and each time I flash fresh, market will auto downloaded my installed roms from my last rom and install them in the fresh rom.
How do i turn this off????
When you sign in to Google account uncheck 'keep my phone backed up' checkbox
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using XDA Premium App
EDIT: Beaten to it
also, you can go into the market while everything is downloading > my apps > then stop.

i was pretty sure i had unchecked this the LAST time i flashed a fresh rom, so that's why i was confused about why it was doing the process again. i know for sure i unchecked it this time, so we'll see what happens next time...

besides the market apps, what else will it NOT backup/restore if I disable this option?
I just want to make sure it will back up/restore my contacts/calendar/gmail.
edit: I flashed a new ROM and unchecked the box and it still started trying to install all my market apps. it failed on about 80% of them which is why I don't want it to bother and Ill have titanium backup do it. what a pain...

It will still Sync your Contacts,Calendar and Gmail. When the box is unchecked its not suppose to reinstall your market apps. Not sure if it stuck before you unchecked it maybe need to let it sit for a few minutes to sync to the server that your settings stayed.
Don't uncheck backup. Easier to not sign in to your account on fresh install, skip it. When phone loads, launch the market. Now sign in. problem solved.

LBC 0.6 - No alert on recieving txt message

When i recieve a txt message i get no alert or flashing light with LBC 0.6. I also have other issues being:
Txt messages show phone numbers instead of names
Power down doesn't actually power down, it appears to hibernate instead.
I would report them in the developers section but can't due to forum limits on new users.
Not upgraded as yet myself as not had opportunity, but do intend to tomorrow.
did you perform the required wipes pre install? (have to ask)

Are you sure that you have Settings->Power->Fastboot set to OFF?
other wise will never really Power Off.
hope that helped....
Good call on the fast boot option. Thats one crossed off. Hopefully the alert issue is a simple fix
Thanks
oh and to answer your other question i used the following file to wipe :
FULL_WIPE_1.5_EXT4-for-saga_.zip

I had the same problem. i reinstalled the rom using rom manager (clean install) with the "sense 3 sms" checked. now it works perfectly
Thanks for the suggestion. I have installed without a clean install and I get an error message on screen when receiving a txt.
I shall try with a clean install 2moz.
If it works I shall report the issue to lbc so that he can fix the base Rom.

I'm faced with the same bug like you, Don't receive any Text-Notifications. Well, I do a full wipe before it (System/data/cache/dalvik) and using the 2.1 Version. I'm now using GO SMS and it works well. But I think I'll give the 3.0 Sms a try
just my personal opinion, the Sense v3 SMS application is much better anyway, has more features and more user friendly !
Tried the following:
full wipe
install LBC 0.6
install sms app 3.0 addon
still no alert when recieving messages
Time to post in the developers section!
Shameless pad to allow me to post in development

Would you mind giving a step by step guide to doing this?
Desperately need a fix soon as I love this ROM.

Have now upgraded to v0.6.0, although I only wiped the Cache and Dalvik Cache and didn't perform the recommended full wipe as didn't have the time for the full setup - so took a chance.
Was originally runnning LBC 0.5.4
Booted to Recovery
Took full Nandroid backup
Wiped CACHE
Wiped DALVIK CACHE
flashed v0.6.0 ROM (did previously edit ZIP to remove some APK's (including EXT4 recovery - as had issue with upgrade))
flashed Google Apps Add on
flashed selection of Sense 3 Components (Weather & Lock Scren, Black Ring, Live Wallpapaper, Weather Sounds, SMS App) [Not 3d Rosie]
Booted and all fine, I get normal SMS notifications, no issues to report to date.

Can always count on Ben for a thorough recap
However I read from others that sms will work fine if you also flash the sense 3 lockscreen. I'm choosing to stick with the default so I would like to get the sms working without the new lockscreen.
I'm going to flash the sms app again to see if that patches the problem up. But will take a while before someone actually sends me a text

write text
hit send
Then quickly power off (to ensure phone is sleeping)

New Nexus S - Should i wait ?

Hello
Just got my new Google Nexus S : )
I wanted to know if It would be better to wait till google releases the new ICS 4.0 Andriod and get it updated and then go with New Roms
or
Should i install a new ROM now for better speed and stability ?
If yes, which ROM should i start off with as i am a total beginner with Rooting/Flashing etc.
I dont mind waiting till 4.0 Android is released...
Any suggestions ?
Putting ROMs on it now doesn't exclude you from putting ICS on it later. Go have fun with it and try out different ROMS. When ICS comes out, you can put that on it too. No restrictions !!
But wouldnt rooting the device bar me from updating to ICS officially from Google ?
Yes but there will be ICS ROMs released here that you can install
Stock Android is actually pretty good and very stable. But if you want to toy around, just go ahead and have fun with the great ROMs we have available now.
Greetz
U can also flash back to stock when ics comes out and update officially and reroot and your good

That is the one I used...how ever I would suggest getting a 5.0.2.0 recovery image as the one in the file that goes with that video is an older version...it will still work though.

Which ROM or Kernel did you try out ?
How about using Rom Manager by ClockworkMod?
Which program to use for backing up Data (contacts, messages etc) before Rooting the device ?
off topic, but since you asked about backing up contacts im sure this could help. Go to your contacts, and choose the option to back them all up to SD card. After that, choose to delete all your contacts from your phone, then restore the backup from SD, but choose to restore them as gmail contacts instead of to your phone. This way when you sync your gmail account your contacts will just repopulate. Very handy when flashing new roms ect

When i import "IMport from USB Storage", it does not ask me to import as Gmail Contacts.
How do i do that ?
For me,
I will import my contacts in gmail (via browser in pc) so i can manage easily, edit, create group, etc..
and finally sync it all to phone.
That was i done when i use android for the first time.

Yes! Especially with their new motto! They want to know as much about you as possible... and by syncing your contacts with them, you are feeding them what they need to survive... Reminds me of the Little Shop of Horrors... Google sitting around belching, "FEED ME!"

Copy the MobileBackup.apk to your sd card. You can use 'Super Manager' from the app market. Open 'Super Manager' then go into file manager. Check your settings in Super Manager by going into setup/root and make sure 'enable ROOT function' is checked. Find your MobileBackup.apk on your SD Card and copy. Press 'Back up level folder' twice. Go into 'system/app' and make sure 'system is set to (r/w). Paste the MobileBackup.apk in the folder.
But like the others said... you really should use GMail to backup your contacts.
Thanks!
haha thanks everyone, I think it is just a bug he hasent worked out yet cus when i use the app switch me (kinnda like dual boot, only just 1 rom) I found all of my contacts were there when i tried syncing tm contacts from the .apk I ported ...
my solution to get on my main boot was to save a .vcf to my sd.
BTW- Thanks everyone for your help

[Q] How do I prevent a specific app from being uninstalled

I have an app on my phone that I would like to prevent from being uninstalled in the event of being lost or stolen. How would I do this. I have been searching the web and most people say its not possible but how is that bloatware is seemingly impossible to get rid of? Would it be possible with a rooted phone?

Yes I am rooted. How would I make it so the app installs with all the current settings?
For example if I have an app that shows me the current location of my phone via email I would need the email settings to be loaded each time.

After you move it to /system/app and set permissions just log in like normal and all of your settings should still be there... just keep in mind a factory reset or a need rom will delete it. So after each time you flash a new rom you'll need to move the app back to /system/app

Bear in mind that the first thing anyone will do if they steal your phone is wipe all data, so this won't achieve much unfortunately.
