Case for HTC Butterfly X920D - HTC Butterfly

Hello guys!
I bought the new HTC Butterfly X920D (Taiwan version). And now i need choose any case for this device.
I know that there are many cases for american Droid DNA version, but they are both have different sizes. Taiwan version is little higher then american one. Difference between X920D and DNA is only 2 mm. So if i'll buy any case from Droid DNA will be there any problems?

I would be amazed if they were actually different sizes. I doubt HTC would not use as many interchangeable parts as possible.

I have a x920D as well and bought a Nilkin Droid DNA X920e case which doesn't quite fit properly. It is, like you say, a little higher so I had to modify it a bit but even then does not fit snugly.
Guess we have to wait a little more for proper cases for the x920d to be made.

Guys! Could inform me if you will fine any case for taiwan version htc butterfly

x920d vs x920e
x920d is the Taiwanese International variant of the Butterfly. x920e is Verizon (and possibly Mainland China's) variant of the Butterfly.
There is a subtle difference in dimension as mentioned earlier in this post where the x920e variant is SHORTER than the x920d.
So far, you can't get any cases for "x920d" anywhere other than Taiwanese retail and HTC stores.
Most if not all of the hard cases that are on the internet (e.g eBay), are all designed for x920e model, and they WON'T fit the Butterflies bought from Taiwan.
If you desperately need a case right now, I suggest purchasing the silicone/TPU gel cases as they can stretch to fit the x920d variant, although you might find the sound, and some microphone cuttings won't perfectly align. However, it'll perfectly protect your case. Better than nothing, right?
Hope this helps.

For me, it's better to get a case to protect our phones. my friend got her HTC case at Minisuit. You may want to try it too

I just bought an x920d and the store gave me a case for free, but it's for the x920e!! If I cut off the top bit (the bit that goes over the power button area) will it fit?

I brought mine with free viva case...look nice.

I also recently got the HTC Butterfly X920D and have been looking for a good protector.
Good news that PChome has a US shopping website selling Taiwan stuff
If you can read Chinese, go to the PChome US website and search for htc butterfly and some good stuff should come up

[Q] guys, how do u think about in s and desire s ?

Hi guys, I want to buy a phone, now am wandering about the incredible s and desire s
which one do you think is better?
Desire S choosen
Hi,
I had the same situation, finaly I've bought the Desire S and I'm happy with it. It is a litte big smaler then the Incredible but exept the camera as far as I know everything is the same.
The Desire S for me personaly looks much more noble then the Incrdible S and is fitting in every pocket.
I've had the HD2 before with WIN6.5 and Andoird (Desire HD Rom) for mails/Inet etc. and an additional smaler phone to make calls. Now after everything will be set up I'll be only the Desire S.
Cheers
Mike

It comes down to two things, how big a phone do you want to carry around in your pocket? and which one feels best in your hands....
I'd suggest you go to a shop and try out both dummies....whichever feels best should leave in your pocket (and I don't mean nick the dummy!).
I personally like a smaller size, The D HD is way too big IMHO (I've come from HTC Diamond2 which was also 3.7" screen)
The phones are very similar spec wise, I rarely use a camera...so mega pixels don't matter to me!
They both have the same signed problems when it comes to custom ROMS and root.
Good luck.
Thank u. it will be my first android, in considering ur words, i think maybe the desire s will suit me.
Desire s fits perfectly in hands..i'll choose desire s as a replacement for my hero

HTC Desire S G12

Hi,
My brother has got the HTC Desire S and I would like to get him a case ....
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Black-S...049944?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item19c8808b98
Can some one please tell me if there is a difference between the Desire S and the Desire S G12? Can I use the cover linked above?
Thanks a lot for any input
no difference
Thanks Eclipse
Ebay lists G12, S510 and S510e separately and I was wondering what to do as my bro lives in a different place so, cannot even see his phone!
Thanks again!
as far as i know there may be very slight differences, in tearms on operator branding and suchlike. But physically they should be identical. try looking up further info on google
I wrote to a couple of sellers on ebay asking if the case would fit and got replies such as this:
hi, I am glad to service you. this item is just for HTC Desire S S510e
so it is not fit for Desire S G12 and S510
have a nice day

This was a reply from more than 1 seller that sold either the G12 of S510 or S510e and therefore I presume there is some difference.
Can someone tell me from where I can the model type?
Thanks

These reviews are from Hong Kong so they are written in Chinese but there are still many pictures though. According to the source, this mobile will out in this month in HK at HK$4498(US$577).
It is almost sure an One S 2.0 because they share pretty much same specification and the model number raised up a bit to z321e from z320e but the new name is HTC J now. The name is changed because they used a total new design from a Japanese designer.
There is almost no different on hardware but HTC J added support CDMA 800MHz and WiMax. The most eyes catch for me is OMG they finally give us back a replaceable battery(1810mah) and a microSD card slot!!! This makes me want to trade my One S to HTC J immediately(but I still love my One S very much.....).
1. S4 1.5G dual core
2. 8M f/2.0 with image chip
3. qHD 4.3" SuperAMOLED
4. 1GB RAM
5. 16GB ROM
6. Beats Audio
7. replaceable battery 1810mah
8. microSD card slot
9. WiMAX 2.5-2.7GHz and CDMA 2000 800MHz
10. Front cam 1.3M(720P)
11. Comes with 4.0.4 Sense4.1(2.17.708.2)
12. 142g weight
I guess it's not that hard to make roms for both mobiles.
Looks more like an incredible or sensation then the One S.

The design actually is more like Korea(LG/Samsung) and the model no. telling us it's an One S upgraded ver.
HTC J = z321e
One S = z320e
This mobile will sell in HK, TW and Japan this month. Not sure about Europe and USA.

The S4 One S is a Z520, the S3 is called Z560. To call the Z560 an upgrade is a bit of a stretch IMO...
What cpu is in the Z320e One S version?

My fault on the model number but can you please read the spec first? Z321e's hardware are all based on One S plus some upgrades, the CPU on Z321e is S4 1.5G dual core w/ 225GPU. Indeed, this is targeted for Japanese market of HTC One S.
The One S still looks better and I have no intention to put in in water ....the SD being back is a good thing though. About the battery I'm actually impressed on how well it works on the One S.

The One S design is very special, I won't say it's better or more pretty but it's a very rare/unique design. I like the battery/sd, it's more important to me.
However, I only bought the One S for three months I can't effort to spend money on other mobile at this moment. Probably I will wait for a true upgrade of One S or Sony Xperia w/ ExmorRS + RGBW next year.

Will this device ever have a dev team?

I just got this phone recently and I wondered if we will ever have a good dev team for this phone. The glory days of this phone is rather short lived as HTC announced the One but I really love this phone because of the screen and if devs all jumped to the One I will be quite sad. That said, do you guys think we will have a good dev team? I know this phone is not really released into other parts of the world yet and people should start browsing more on this forum when that happens.
Why do you think that its days are gonna end fast? M7, as i know do not have microSD slot. Its like an MP3 pleers story - when everybody stoped making them with external butteries. The iRiver t60 is the last one iknow with buttery - and now it sells for $200.

This device doesn't seem to be very popular, maybe you can still sell it while its retaining value and move on to the htc one when it releases.
this device did not launch in major gsm markets (most of europe, north america), and in fact despite being a better device (imo) because of the sdcard many gsm users bought the droid dna specifically because of better dev support from verizon devs at least
and even though the devices are similar, without one in hand most devs (myself included) wont port dna work to it since its too annoying
To be honest, this device will be my 2nd device once the HTC One is out BUT ONLY if there is a possibility to S-Off the HTC One. Without it, I don't see the point of having almost twice the same device.

Just be glad that we have atleast one dev "mdeejay" porting his ROM for x920d ...
There should be official CyanogenMod support for this guy right? And, how hard is it to port a ROM to this device? I might want to learn to port some ROMs from the DNA to this one.
I don't think there will be any CM support now that HTC One has been announced.. That device seems more promising with less variants to dev for..
As for developing yourself, that's how every dev started need patience, tech knowledge and some hard work plus time!

I dont understand - in what universe One is way better then Butterfly? As i know it has 10-20% faster CPU and NO microSD slot. LTE, NFC, full banf 3G support - is a questions. So why does everybody speaks about it? Aluminum case?
upd It have only 1 Gb RAM... Why is it so expectable???

The things I like about the One is the metal body, the stereo speakers and the bigger battery. The screen of the Butterfly can't be beat, I went back to using the One X and the screen is feels so small! The 5 inch Full HD screen on this phone is just amazing!!!
since Droid DNA share the similar stuffs with us, why not we just hope/ask nicely to the devs to support us x920d/e?
This is exactly the reason why I went with DNA
I had to import it as I live in India.
DNA n butterfly share similar characteristics, so technically any Rom for DNA should be working for butterfly as well and vice versa , it just needs a dev who can port it. Classic example being virtuosDNA which is based on butterfly firmware but DNA gsm users can also use it without any issues.
Also verizon American devs don't port as it has some risks attached to it.
As far as I understand gsm DNA users are the lucky ones as they get best of both worlds
DNA also is S-off
Your best hope is CM which is in advanced stage for DNA as radio progress has been made today
As far as HTC one is concerned Iam sure butterfly and DNA both will receive sense5 in a few months from now.
AOSP dev on one will be difficult as it has new cpu and different camera module. Iam sure HTC won't release camera specific drivers to public. Remember HTC evo 3d ....

The J Butterfly has root and a custom rom that's accessable thanks to SharpISO3. It's an excellent start for such a minority device IMO and I'm sure things will get better over time.

not just the aluminium case, the promotion they give to htc one, its already got firing every where, every mobile operators will carry this device, many mobile stores and sites are already started pre order.
Now, if butterfly was given that importance, then this forum would have been full with devs and supporters, unfortunately htc itself depromoted butterfly for what so ever reasons, they only know. price is also a damp factor.
I waited more than a month to get hold this beauty butterfly.

the over priced and less availability. still many parts of the world haven't heard about this phone, htc already diverted to ONE, its doubtful if they will give preference to this one. So xperia is a good choice from your point of view, otherwise butterfly is unbeatable.
Hmm... Do you guys think that the CyanogenMod team will bring CM to this device?

It's not the same case, but I still don't think it would work. If it doesn't mention the One XL, you should assume that it is for the international One X. It won't fit, because the pogo pins won't line up. I think the international One X is a good millimeter shorter too.

From the looks of the case it uses ABS this is very fitted and will not work with models it is not designed for. I am not saying it will not fit but It may not fit well.
