Add (activate) the Sony Bravia Engine in Xperia Miro / Tipo / J / E !!! - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

I'll leave here the procedure to activate the sony bravia engine on Xperia Miro.
I managed to do it correctly and worked with me. I can not vouch for any damage that may cause to your equipment. Do at your own risk!!

requirements:
- root
- Root explorer or equivalent
- Terminal Emulator
Extract the zip file with the name "Bravia"
Put the two files (be_movie & be_photo) on the memory card of the phone
Using root explorer (or equivalent), place the two files inside the folder: /system/etc
Now we have to change the file build.prop of the ROM
To do this go to /system and open the file build.prop (finger pressed on the choice and chose the option "Open with editor", go to the end of the file and add the following lines:
# Sony Bravia Engine Service
ro.service.swiqi.supported=true
persist.service.swiqi.enable=1
And we recorded the file build.prop
Now we go to the terminal emulator and write:
su (to give the root permissions)
And wrote the following lines:
busybox chmod 0755 /system/etc/be_photo
busybox chmod 0755 /system/etc/be_movie
busybox chown 0.0 /system/etc/be_photo
busybox chown 0.0 /system/etc/be_movie
Restart the Xperia Miro and Voila!!
Sony Bravia Engine active!!
If I helped, click the button thank me!

In my opinion, there are improvements in images and videos. However they are not very relevant, only the most attentive is that they can see the difference.
What I noticed was that in my case (I have many, many pictures), the photos were opening slowly. With the engine Bravia open almost all at once.
And for that reason alone it worth!
Kind regards,
Jorge Moreira

Well it also works on Xperia J. Thank you, although I cannot really see much difference except for the option...

"be_photo" doesnt actually work on MIRO... You need to have "be_album" file to work properly.... I have done it on my Miro and the difference can be surely seen...

Hi,
I was curious about what you said and decided to try.
I honestly did not notice any improvement, but I leave here again get the zip with "be_album" included for those who want to test.
They copy what is inside the zip file to /system/etc
Now we go to the terminal emulator and write:
su (to give the root permissions)
And wrote the following lines:
busybox chmod 0755 /system/etc/be_album
busybox chown 0.0 /system/etc/be_album
Restart the Xperia Miro!

Hi,
It's weird. Try again.
You have to put the letters in lowercase. Just like I describe.
For example, if you put the word "true" in capital letters, not work.
Did the steps I have described:
Extract the zip file with the name "Bravia engine with be_album.zip”
Put the three files (be_movie, be_album & be_photo) on the memory card of the phone
Using root explorer (or equivalent), place the three files inside the folder: /system/etc
Now we have to change the file build.prop of the ROM
To do this go to /system and open the file build.prop (finger pressed on the choice and chose the option "Open with editor", go to the end of the file and add the following lines:
# Sony Bravia Engine Service
ro.service.swiqi.supported=true
persist.service.swiqi.enable=1
And we recorded the file build.prop
Now we go to the terminal emulator and write:
su (to give the root permissions)
And wrote the following lines:
busybox chmod 0755 /system/etc/be_photo
busybox chmod 0755 /system/etc/be_movie
busybox chmod 0755 /system/etc/be_album
busybox chown 0.0 /system/etc/be_photo
busybox chown 0.0 /system/etc/be_movie
busybox chown 0.0 /system/etc/be_album
Restart the Xperia Miro!!
Bravia engine enabled and working!

Jorge Moreira

[MOD] framework-res.apk from 2.1 modded for 1.6

Let me be clear: I did not make a full theme,
rather than taking any compatible components
from the 2.1 framework and importing them to the 1.6 framework.
Just for fun, while we wait for the actual update!
Download!
Put in on your SD card, then open a terminal on your phone or on your PC, after you have connected the phone,
and enter the commads:
adb shell mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock2 /system
adb shell dd if=/sdcard/framework-res.apk of=/system/framework/framework-res.apk
Enjoy!

When you rooted with the application, did you un-secure shell?
Also, have you installed androidsdk on your PC?
EDIT: Try this... On your PC, in the command windows type
adb shell
after pressing Enter, check your phone's screen.
Has a Superuser windows popped up?
If so, give it permission and then procceed according to the instructions.
Let me know if it worked!

[GUIDE][MOD]ICS Pattern locksreen(Change path thickness)

Guide to changing path thickness of Pattern Lockscreen to ICS style
I wandered places searching this off. I found some traces in direction of my destiny but none of them worked fully correctly
So, as stated, I searched a lot for this mod and came face to face with failures and smali errors. So, I had to figure it out myself some modification to do in it to make it work.
Note: IT is not COMPLETELY my mod but I have done modifications in it to make it work. This is based on a guide for Froyo outside of XDA.
Pre-Requisites:
1. PC with Java JDK or JRE
2. Deodexed ROM
3. 7-Zip
4. classes.dex decompiling tool
5. Notepad++
6. Patience
7. Carefulness for editing smali files
Let's Start
1. First we would have to decompile classes.dex inside framework.jar
For that, you can use my Tool ROM Tool v3
First using 7zip, Right click on your framework.jar and open it as archive and drag and drop classes.dex in input folder of the tool
(Note: If you don't have classes.dex in framework.jar [only META-INF and preloaded-classes.dex], then your framework isn't deodexed)
Now, open Script.bat and choose 1 (Decompile classes.dex)
2. Now, we will make the changes. Go to decompiled folder and go to \classout\com\android\internal\widget and open LockPatternView.smali in Notepad++
Search for mDiameterFactor:F [Ctrl+F]
See the code above it.
It should be like this:-
Code:
const[COLOR="Red"]/high16[/COLOR] v2, 0x3f00
If it is, then you will have to remove red part /high16
Because it will not allow the change of code we will be doing which will have a different hexadecimal value which will not be supported till this code is in effect
Now, it will look like this:-
Code:
const v2, 0x[COLOR="Red"]3f00[/COLOR]
Now, we will change the thickness value 3f00 to 3dcccccd
Final code will look like this
Code:
const v2, 0x3dcccccd
Save it
I am attaching final and before smali for comparison below.
View attachment 1936707
(Note: If you don't have /high16, it's good , then just change the value and save)
3. Go to Script.bat again and choose 2 (Recompile classes.dex) and after it's done, you will get classes.dex
Drop it in framework.jar
4. Push framewotk.jar in /system/framework
Eg:
Copy it in platform-tools folder of android SDK and type following with pressing Enter after each command
Code:
adb remount
adb push framework.jar /system/framework/
adb shell chmod 644 /system/framework/framework.jar
adb shell killall system_server
Last command will Hot Reboot your phone to apply changes. It is fast and better than rebooting phone.
5. Enjoy

alternate version.
4 - read (r)
2 - write (w)
1 - execute (x)
so 777 implies rwx rwx rwx
and 644 rw r r

---------- Post added at 02:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:34 PM ----------
edit.
ill change permissions for album.apk rw-rw-rw- [after flash via cwm has rw-r-r-] and now no fc.for settings.apk permissions must be rw-rw-rw-
all works fine.great job.

Xperia m....
Sent from my GT-P3100 using xda app-developers app
I tried to install it manually but unfortunately my phone didn't boot at all.
I copied all the files in their appropriate folders and set permissions to rw-rw-rw (Even built.prop...Is that wrong?)
Also copied the lines of built.prop from first post...

X-Reality and super vivid mode for xperia e3 (updated)

Z3 Image Enhancement for E3
You will need Cwm and rooted device , and make any backup before making modiification..
this is the pack of image enhancement from xperia z3 . this will give you x-reality(also know as bravia engine 3) and super vivid mode .
just flash this file https://www.mediafire.com/?u626c78wfe05ude
no need to add lines in build.prop
and if you want x-reality in movies also then flash this also http://www.mediafire.com/download/wh62hurk44b5v73
note-if settings force close , delete settings.apk from zip and reinstall.
in this case you will need to modify your settings.apk to get new image enhancement option in display (ask me i will tell you )
in case of album FC reinstall your album app and clear data and cache of album.

X-Reality
Super Vivid Mode
Old Method.
You will need a rooted device with working CWM recovery and root explorer
today i successfully installed x-reality and bravia engine in my xperia e3 .
it is working 100%
#there is color saturation and sharpness in pictures when viewed in album..
#colors are saturated in camera while taking picture.
#videos have richer color playback
if anyone wants to install , you can follow this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358793 .
note-1. edit build.prop in notepad++
2. skip step 2 . because there is no swiqi in our build.prop
3. lines under code copy all and paste in next line to ro.somc.clearphase.supported=true
4. save and paste in system change permissions to rw-r--r-- and flash the files.
here are two files attached with x-reality ON and OFF. see the difference.

yes you can use xplore.. but i use root explorer as i am not familiar with xplore.
and you dont have to add ro.somc.clearphase.supported=true..
you have to add these lines
ro.service.swiqi2.supported=true
persist.service.swiqi2.enable=1
ro.service.swiqi3.supported=true
persist.service.swiqi3.enable=1
in the line next to ro.somc.clearphase.supported=true.
