and yes, it is a copy of iphone, the miui is also a good copy of ios....
the hardware is excellent.... for 315€

Hey everyone, I recently traded my Galaxy Nexus for the GS3 and normally, I get right down to the rooting/unlocking/flashing process, however one thing has been holding me back. The gentleman that I traded my device with worked directly for Samsung and said that the GSIII that he was giving to me, was in fact a development testing device only given out to employees. I was wondering if there is a way to verify this as I know that this could be a potential gateway to future discoveries if this is in fact the case. If any of you have thoughts on this then please share. I've been itching to scratch this flashing bug of mine -_-

This is what a test phone from HTC looks like.
If this person's claims are true, you should go to the IRC and chat with the devs there.
They could possibly find useful information before you get to using your device as normal- again, assuming this is true.

I'd wait. I think the phone looks awesome, but I'd wait and see how the development goes before getting to excited. If you can't even unload the garbage Verizon is going to no doubt put on it (coupled with the garbage HTC will put on it), then what's the point?

If your gonna get rid of unlimited let me know. I don't know how it works but I read that people were transferring their accounts to other people so they could have unlimited data. I'd even pay u for it. Just a suggestion.

90% of the time my phone sits on my work desk and I use it as a hotspot to surf pr0n Plus I've read some early impressions where the phone lasts longer then the GSIII.
Its actually easy. I took two unlimited data lines went I left att for verizon from an ad on craigslist. The owner of the lines calls verizon to release assumption of liability to the new persons name. The new person calls in and they already have it notated it takes about 10 minutes total. That's the best thing I ever did now I actually feel that I get my moneys worth for service

I can't wait for the DNA! My GS3 is definitely going bye bye. I like my GS3 but I love HTC phones. They just didn't have a decent phone for Verizon. Now they do.
I think they battery life is going to be just fine. A quad core is more efficient than a dual core so we'll see. I'm pretty confident saying it'll last me long enough, I only need it to last from 8am to 10pm. Any phone can do that.

I'm sorry but that's like saying a V8 is more efficient than a 4 cylinder which is just not the case. I really don't see this being true I may be wrong though I'm not a processor expert

Its not up to you whether someone wants to run windows 8 on their android phone. I know it wouldn't be possible but I would love to try it on the S3. Personally I prefer flashing different os's instead of ROMs. Roms can only change so much.

The hd2 was a windows phone.. Its mostly a copyright and license issue.. You'll never see a windows ROM on an android phone, only vice versa.. There was a big discussion back in the day about this when I was on the Raphael forums.. Microsoft surprisingly looks at this stuff
On a side note there is a win 7/8 launcher in the play store.. It looks pretty decent too

Yes it would be very cool; if only from a novelty standpoint. But it isn't going to happen for many reasons including hardware, licensing, IP, and the DMCA and its chilling effect upon research in a legal gray-area.

I think what most people on XDA have taken exception to is HTC's complete disregard for GPL compliance. Locked bootloaders and partial source code (if any) abound. It's not that the devs don't like a challenge, it's just that they take offense to a company going out of their way to block them and completely disregard the law.

I want the S4 simply because I've basically had every Galaxy made by samsung. I had to sell my S3 but I loved the way it felt, and from the reviews I've heard of the S4, it feels even better so going off of that and all of the cool features it has I want it!

The one's build quality is too premium to pass and the s4's features seem more like gimmicks

I just got off the phone with them twice. First guy said they have them. Then I called back and talked to a woman, she said they didn't have any in. She asked who I talked to and I told her. About 2 weeks ago I went in and asked him to call me when they came in. This morning around 10am he called me and told me they were in but they were sold out if the white ones. But I could get the black one if I wanted to. I wanted the white one. He also said that the white ones should be back in stock in a couple of days

I think this is such a great review. The guy is very clear and also picks out some of the most important features and its not too long. I can't believe it is already in some stores in the US and here in London I could not even get a demo in the Samsung flagship store.
