question about peoples battrry life. - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I read all 15 million post on what other people's use is and getting over 4 hours of screen time, but no one is saying what the do to get all that screen and use time. Can someone shed some light on what I am doing wrong? I get just over 3 hours of screen time with the phone off the charger for about 24 hours. I only several 3g and no juice defender. I keep Bluetooth and gps off all the time.
Would someone please post some tips? I'll click thanks for any tip that helps me out.
Thanks a million

3 hours screen time for 24 hours discharging is really good

[Q] Battery life, the most important question about the Sensation...

Is the battery life shorter than the life of a fly? I'm coming from a HD2, which I was constantly wanting to turn into a bomb and ship it back to HTC because of it's poor battery life, until I upgraded to CyanogenMod.
The other thread about the phone is filled with silly, useless blabbering about benchmarks, so if you have the phone, could you please spare us drudging through that thread and post your battery life results here?
+1 to T.S
If the Sensation can run more than 8 hours on Battery I'mma pre-order this beast on Handtec asap
Good initiative. Change the topic title to 'battery life' or something similar otherwise people interested won't think to look in this topic.
the phone only came out yesterday, it always takes a few charge/discharge cycles to get it conditioned properly, so any comparisons that are done after just one day aren't going to be very accurate. give people a chance!!
For who?
Don't expect any better battery life than present phones. It's dual core. I don't have it but I think it's predictable. You will get 1 or 2 days depends on how you use it. I'm saying that might be 2 days because for normal usage it will run only one core which is new chipset etc. so it will spend less power than 1 core phones when one core is running. It will spend more power when you play gamse etc. because of 2 cores.
As long as it's better than my Desire (AMOLED), I'm happy.
I've installed CM7 and undervolted it and when I run my usual set up (Podcasts/Music, Trillian (Battery Saving Mode), GTalk, Latitude activated) it can happen that it doesn't really reached the end of a typical work day. When I had certain widgets installed, it didn't really reach the end of the day.
I don't need it to last 2 days, but easily one full day with nearly heavy use would be somehow nice...
Had my phone for 3 hours, battery life is about 10 billion times better than my HD2 was. Been using it pretty constantly since, and my battery would have gone down by about 25-30% on my HD2 (mental!!) but battery has gone down by about 5-10% and I haven't even charged it yet. Very happy soo far! .
I unplugged my phone after it's first charge cycle 7h 38m ago. It's gone from 100% to 23%.
During that time, my phone has been used almost constantly, including benchmarking, taking screenshots, as well as the usual few phonecalls, facebook updates every hour and Twitter updates every hour. Plus, of course, all the mucking around that we all do when we get new phones!
sjgore, great news! I have a question about your signature, how could you possibly be holding both your phone and your baby at the same time in each hand?

Thats is very promising, waiting for my Sensation! Have to wait a damn week though!
This thread is relevent to my interests...
A good reliable benchmark will be good only after everyone stops playing with their new phone for 23 hours out of the day!
Can't wait to get mine when it hits the US soon!
Also, battery conditioning isn't applicable to these kind of batteries. The first charge is as good as the 50th or the 100th. Of course, this is pending the lifetime of the battery. They do wear out!
I have been using my phone since 8am this morning, the battery is at 53%
My HD2 would have easily been dead by now!

Could please more users comment regarding battery experience so far? Even though you might still hope for an improvement after several charges, I'd like to know how it has been for you guys for the first couple of days. Thanks
I charged mine about half 5 yesterday, been using it as normal and had WiFi turned on, and its just hit 25%.
A lot better than my Desire HD.
Sent from my HTC Sensation
Mine's been off charge since about 9:30, and today I've been recording some 1080p video clips, taken some photos, playing Angry Birds and general usage. It's currently at 65%. So I'm pretty happy all in all!
Ok people who say "I've been off the charger since XX:XX and I'm at XX%, my YYY phone would've been dead by now!" please stop... people use their phones every differently and moderate/heavy usage varies greatly among different people.
If possible just look at your battery graph and report how long it says it's been off the charger, and also press display to see the DISPLAY TIME ON. Also, if you've made a lot of calls, report the voice call time as well. Signal strength is another major factor.
With Gingerbread it's MUCH easier to see battery life performance because of that new graph. Signal strength, display on, awake, etc. are very important in determining how long the battery will last and also if your phone isn't getting as much juice as you think it should.
20 hours 5 mins off charge, 100% to 39%, display time 1 hour 26 mins. WiFi on all that time. Is that any use?
Edit: Forgot to say, my phone's on its third charge cycle now.
Thanks. Did you make many calls? 1.5 hours of screen on time seems like light usage for 20 hours off the charger. The battery life on this phone seems quite average... on par with other 1500mah phones I guess.
More data is always welcome =)

Pathetic Battery

BB agreed to replace my One X after showing them this... So, how much talk time was this? 11 minutes. Screen time you ask? 36 minutes. Total time to burn 77% of the battery/ 5 hours 23 minutes. My concern is that the phone doesn't always do this. I've spent the last two weeks modifying various things, notifications, screen brightness etc. What disturbs me is that the phone is always the culprit. 11 minutes talk time using roughly 25% of the total battery. Perhaps I live between two cells and, even though I'm getting 5 bars 4G LTE at home, it is constantly jumping back and forth? I don't want to turn off LTE, it's the reason I bought this phone. Is this just a lemon of a phone or could there be an underlying issue that could affect my new one as well. I've also gone days where the phone has gone 26 hours with 2 hours talk time and 2+ hours screen time. Still love the phone though, we'll see how the second one does.
The topic of battery life has been discussed extensively in other threads. Don't start a new topic without doing a search first.

whats your battery life like now a days on the SG3?

i am thinking of getting a SG3 locally that is really cheap. whats your battery life like now a days especially SCreen on time!
and if you can let me know what ROm/kernal or are u stock. that would help me in my decision.
thanks guys
The gs3 gets respectable battery life IMO.
3 - 4 hrs screen on time (4 when on Wi-Fi all day).
Running synergy r373 with ziggys kernel. Stock battery.
i got 7hr screen on time once, but that was once.
i get around 4-5 on average.
7 hours on screen time at best maybe more with the battery saving apps and Greenify. 5 hours is the norm for me. I am running Plasma VIII with Kt747 kernel.

Battery saving apps but like I said in my post that 5 hours is the norm for me. You can squeeze as much as possible from a phone by doing as little as possible on your phone. 7 hours is the highest possible for this phone

can some of you post screen shots of the screen on time?
This was an exceptional day, like I said. I average 4-5 hours of screen on time. I am running a 2200mah battery. That is only like a 5% increase over the stock one though. even if you take 5% away from that its beyond impressive.
This is my battery life after close to 3 hours. It looks like I am well on my way to 7 hours.
I'm assuming min brightness at all times for anything over 5 hrs? I run auto since I'm outdoors all day which may explain why 3-4 is my avg

I am on auto also but my phone is in my pocket most of the time while outside with only music playing which depending on the music app doesn't eat up much battery.
Roughly around 7-8 hours of screen on time. With Hyperdrive ROM/Zeus Kernal and connected to Wi-Fi at work and home.

Update of my battery life.
Pretty Decent
I'm getting an average of around 10 hours with three hours of screen time. Not doing any games and have 4G of most of the time though so that helps. And Juice Defender makes a big difference too. I'm running rootbox with BMS kernel-Governor asswax with sio scheduler
I don't have the specifics but I could run all day (10am to 2am ish) with moderate use and either WiFi or data always on when I was stock. Flashed PACman ROM and the battery life has taken a pretty sharp nosedive. Really digging the ROM so I'm looking for some kind of work around.
Right now, 66%, unplugged for 12 hours, 38 minutes screen on time. Screen on will go up now that I am off work and catching up on all the days events.
How do you upload screenshots from the phone? I keep hanging on waiting for response.
Sent from my PACmaned SCH-I535
I get about 7.5 hours out of the stock battery with the screen on about 30% of the time. I'm on Carbon 1.6.1.
By the way, I love your pick. Let's go Pens!
I have an screenshot app for that called Screenshot UX. Oh here is another screenshot.

screen on time

Hello everybody if only anyone on you can share with us his screen on time and battery use
I usually get 8h30 of screen on time with regular use (internet, few games and so on), I will get screenshots at the end of the day. This phone is amazing, never seen a phone have a battery life as good as a tablet lol.
i can get more than 7H i'm in stock rom rooted i use greenify ... i see a video on youtube with 10h sot i dont know how hi did it :/ but i want to do the same
10 Hours SOT.
I usually get 9 hours or 10 hours screen on time usually with wifi on and some gaming. Simply its performance is very good. Never experienced such battery life before.
I got 6h on mine with normal use. Facebook instagram search things some location not much gps. Data or wifi always on. But the thing that impresed me is not the sot but how much it took to discharge. 6 days ..omg 6 days with 6h on screen time. As you can see i still have juice left.
Forgot to say : j7 2016 25% brightness no saving no nothing. Stock.

SOT

what is the screen on time you guys are getting after moderate use ?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-6-2019/review/screen-time-t3932140
