[Q] is recoveryblob 9.4.3.17 (WW version) for TF300T - Transformer TF300T Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a question, which mayb already has been asked & answered, but i just can't find it..
I'm on an Asus TF300T, and i need a recoveryblob 9.4.3.17 - the WW version (since i'm in NL), but its just nowhere to be found..
Somebody knows if this blob available somewhere ??
(or someone who got this on disk, or can extract it from a TF300T that isn't updated)
Any help is appreciated! Thx
--
Woops, this post ended up in the general section, and should go in Q&A! Sorry for that!!

Did your device ship with the .17 update or did it come with .26?

It came with .17, but stupid me upgraded as soon it asked for it...
So, i think some should be able to extract the BLOB memoryblock from an original (non-upgraded) WW device..

Fellow dutchie here, is there anything I can do with an updated rooted tablet running .26? (aside from trading my tablet, lol).

Well, unless you made a backup of .17 before the upgrade to .26, i don't think you can help
Don't screw up your install, you can't reflash it to root at the moment
(Except for .17 US)

Sorry man, no backup
Good luck anyhow.

Looks like this is the dutch forum.
I updated to .26 as well just as you.
Not knowing I would probably be better of staying at .17 and then get it rooted.
Oh well, it's just a matter a of time I guess.

I don't suppose anyone still has the .17 blob file that can upload/share it? Been searching for days without any luck.

Hi guys,
I'm fairly new with all the rooting stuff, as I never had any reason to do so. However, since some games (where's my water for example) save their save data in the /data/ folder, I need root.
I was actually about to downgrade my tablet using these steps, but since I apparently run a WW build according to my settings app, I understand I have to wait? Or is there only a specific reason not to use a US version (i.e. localization issues)?
However, a friend is maybe going to buy a TF300 and is probably going to root it, so if he buys it I will check the firmware version and see if I can extract it. Its the least I can do after all the years xda helped me with my smartphones.

Me too Dutch
no .17 ww file found. please upload one!!
i am on .17 us rooted but can not receive the OTA .26 update.

ww 9.4.3.17 blob file needed
I've got my 300t about 1,5 week ago and was so stupid to upgrade to .26.
I need .17 ww version also.
Please upload!
Thanks
Marco

We need someone with an unrooted .17 bought in Europe, except DE..
The process of extracting the firmware is fairly simple...

Well, i can't remember the localization issues i found, but i know i found them..
More important, it doesn't seem to get any updates, so you stay on .17 when you're in europe..

[Q] Where to find old firmware

Hi all,
I wonder if there is a repository of old firwmare to do a downgrade. In fact, from the ASUS website, just the latest firmware is available.
In particular, I'm searching for firmware Version V8.2.3.9(WW).
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,

If you use IRC go to the #asus-transformer channel and ask there. At least a few days ago multiple people had old firmware.
Good Luck
i think i have the zip for the .9 at home but its the US SKU
Somehow my copy got corrupted so I too am looking for the 8.2.3.9 WW version if anyone could share it please.
Edit: Found them here if anyone else needs them:

[Q] Need help rooting TF101

Hi Guys. I need help rooting my Transformer TF101. The Serial Number is B90. I just bought it 2 days ago and I upgraded to the official ICS (4.0.3) from Asus. I've been reading you can't root with this firmware, but I've also viewed threads with firmware version numbers like "8.6.5.19" and I have no idea where to find that or what it means.
I'm very confused haha. Please help me?
Thank You.
Try ViperMod (option 1)
I suggest this thread

Thank You, I will read that. But what I still don't understand is the "8.6.5.19" thing. On my "About Tablet" page, there is nothing that says "Firmware Version."
It stands at build number
That is right above mobile dock type and below kernel version. All transformers has one !

OH! Well Thank You! Mine is "9.2.1.17." Is it bad that it's a higher number?
It stand for the firmware build from asus. So it isn't bad now that custom kernels beeing made. The stock one probably makes your transformer reboot they think.
Mine rebooted twice now , both times it was when it was charging so i charge mine with power off nowadays
So will I be able to root it with ViperMOD with the firmware I have? Or will it mess it up and brick it or something?
[I CAN NOT BE RESPONSABLE FOR USING VIPERMOD ON YOUR DEVICE]
No it will not mess up thing if you use vipermod and choose option one. Keep in mind thats what ive seen people say and do with there devices thats why i posted the warning in caps.
Myself has an b70 in the time ive rooted it with razorclaw !
I'm still very confused on how to approach rooting this. I know I can't use Razorclaw because of my FW version. But I'm still confused on whether or not it's safe to use ViperMOD with my FW version. =/
You should take your time with it and good reading of the info is important. Because most mistakes we made not reading well.

Request for 6210XXLB2 ROOTED ROM

Hello dev,
For those with Canadian version of 6210, can someone upload a rooted 6201XXLB2 rom? I I notice the 6210 version in the dev does not contain the XXLB2 rom.
Thanks.
Cheers everyone especially to the amazing dev
If anyone can help with this it would be really appreciated. Guess who upgraded to the ICS Rom, found out that my wifi was unworkable, and now had to load the "regular North American Retail Rom with the Peel app etc that I cant use

I don't think the XXLB2 is anywhere to be found around here. You might just have to stick with the XXLPL release until the XXLB2 is uploaded by someone or is released. I honestly don't know if its even released. I just looked for it and couldn't find it anywhere.
I'm in the same situation I search for the LB rom for P6210 but for LA3 just uninstall PEEL soft with titanium backup

Thank you very much anyway, The Canadian version P6210 has the XXLB2. which means it has been released. Will I have no problem with the XXLPL? I am satisfied with this rom but needs to change some few things. I am just being cautious if something happens.
I did a nandroid backup of the original unmodified LB2 in clockworkmod, before I started changing settings and installing apps.
You need to have garyd9's "CWM-based Recovery v5.x.x.x" installed in order to restore this nandroid backup:
garyd9's "CWM-based Recovery v5.x.x.x" post
I notice someone posted a newer version of CWM v6 - from what I understand, the newer CWM version is not compatible with the v5 backups.
If anyone finds this useful please reply and let me know. I also need recommendation on upload sites which are easy to use (ie. no registration etc.) and won't kill the upload quickly.
Slim_thumb,
Sorry, I was out for quite some time. Thank you for posting the link. It helped me a lot. I presummed that you have tried some ICS, what could be the best ICS replacement to our XXLB2 for the moment while waiting for our upgrade turn?

LB2 is the HC firmware specific to the GT7+ sold in Canada. It is not ICS. We have not received the OTA ICS update yet.

CromDubh,
I followed the other thread of SrumerJohn in Adnroid Development and installed that ICS firmware. I am not happy about the performance of that firmware.
I am glad you find the latest US firmware satisfactory. Did you use the temporary CWM method to root this US firmware, followed by installing permanent CWM?
I did try the original UK ICS firmware but unfortunately not very extensively..(no wifi being a bit of a deal breaker for me)....but I'm pretty happy with North American version.
As for rooting, I used the same rooting method as was used for the older ICS without a problem. I didnt install permanent CWM, just the the temp, but I'm sure I'll end up with the permanent one when its time to start playing with JB

The ICS version is slightly faster and more fluid than HC in terms of screen transition and opening apps, but my biggest problem is the Flash video performance. Interestingly, I had no wifi problem with the UK ICS version (this problem must be router-related).
I have problem with Flash video playing in the browser in both firmware versions. Not all video sites are affected equally - eg. Youtube 1080p does not play smoothly (used to play smoothly in original HC); Vimeo HD completely stutters (used to play smoothly in original HC).
Adobe apparently stopped supporting Flash and it disappears from Google Play store. I tried several older versions of Flash 11 (and even 10) posted as .apk (eg. at apktop), but none of them work smoothly (some of them even force close the browser) - and yes I did get the correct ICS version of Flash player.
I use Dolphin browser, and I tried the Flash video with the stock browser but the result is the same. Therefore it has nothing to do with the browser.
I have since gone back to my original HC through nandroid backup.
P.S. I followed StrumerJohn's guide to flash permanent CWM onto the US ICS version, and it works. However, at your own risk always.

unlock, root, the noobest noob question.

Hello everyone, just to start, i'm sorry if this has been asked too many times, but i've been wandering all over the forum and cant find what i need.
(i'm kinda lost using forums)
I have a brand new TF300TL wich is sim locked for certain company, but on my country, this company does not exists. So i need to unlock this pad in order to use it with my provider.
I'¡ve been reading some things and i found here wich seem to be instructions to root the device.
As there is no step by step instructions, i'm quite lost.
I understand that in order to root my pad i need to have it connected to my computer right?... But... ¿How do i connect it? I only have the pad, no docking and this pad has no port, only the docking port, not an USB.
¿Is there another way to root this device without connecting it to a desktop computer?
¿Is there another way to sim unlock this device without rooting or connecting to a desktop computer?
The pad is running ICS (4.0.3)
Thanks for your time and patience.
You use the charging cable. Connect the USB of the charging cable to your computer and place the charging cable in your tablet as you normally would

OK!, thanks didn't notice that...
Now, how do i know that the device is ready to root? I downloaded the unlock device apk, it did some work, it rebooted and then it said device is now unlocked.
Is that the unlock i have to do before rooting?
Anything else needed?
Sorry to keep bothering, but i still cant find a step by step and dont want to mess it up.

The above should help if you're on JB. I think you need to install a custom recovery next (TWRP might be better) but I haven't rooted or unlocked my device yet so I'm not completely sure of the process

Go to the transformer general section top of page. Use krapple2548 method. Very easy took about 15 min.
Ok, new issue.
Went to ASUS website and found firmware, but it says only for WW or TW SKU.
In build number, i have none TW or WW, mine says US
¿What now? ¿Which to choose?

Can you give more details about your device? When you go to "settings" what Android version does it say?
TW SKU = firmware for Taiwan, I believe. WW is worldwide. US is obviously US.
The link to the firmware download page is here. Keep in mind if you upgrade to Android 4.1 (jelly bean) it will lock the bootloader and you will NOT be able to re-unlock it, root it, or customize it further. If you want to be able to revert back to an ICS bootloader you'll need to create NVFlash files.
I hope this helps. I'm not an expert so take everything I say with a grain of salt

Rooting - if you are on ICS, yes you can root without unlocking. If on jb, no.
Recovery - you must unlock no matter what you're running.

Have you already tried the debugfs method for rooting? Search for that in the Dev section. I don't have a tl so cannot confirm. I see what you're saying about the Asus site. If you want to be adventurous try installing the ww. Strange they put out a us build with no matching firmware. I have heard of others installing different SKU builds without unlocking but again can't confirm with this model.

Yes the debugfs rooting works.
Yes there is a JB 4.1 US ROM up now.

Version 4.1.1is the latest stock version there is. Check your build number. V10.4.2.20 is the latest build from Asus for most regions. If you're not running that version, you might get prompted to install its ota once you connect to the internet, or you can download it from their website.
