Checked it out, very nice.
Thank you.

I use nova right now on my Droid inc, but am loving Apex on this tablet. Both launchers come from very respectable devs.
Edit: I forget to mention the cm9 launcher Trebuchet. It by far does not have much customization as Apex Launcher our Nova Launcher, but I'm sure is, stable as all hell

Pick your poison Nova or Apex.

i tried Go Launcher HD just now. its not bad..but i didn't like it. I do have to say it was very very smooth.

I use apex on my tab and phone works great and is free with lots of features. They do have a paid version now although havent looked into it cause free does everything i want

So far I am giving Apex launcher a whirl. Seems to be rather good. Might give Nova launcher a go later since I've heard some pretty good reviews about it.

I tried several launcher and now use Go Launcher Ex.
On phone (Galaxy S2) it works very good.
On the TF300T it's okay, could be better but is enough for me.
I just need to have directories and the possibility to flip 360°.
Additionally I like it you can use more than one quick launch bar (or whatever the name is).

I tried both Nova and Apex and had a crash with Nova so I it has been Apex now for over three weeks. I liked it so much I sprung for the Pro version. Gestures on a tablet work quite well.

Personally i love the asus launcher...looks neat.

I settled on the Apex launcher, got the pro version and it works fantastically.
I was using nova, but there were a bunch of force quits and hang ups. There was an update recently, but I haven't tried it again since.

Tried Aoex and nova, settled with apex pro , it's fab

So I have been using apex and I am liking it. When I have more free time, I will try nova.

+ 1 for Apex pro. I've used Nova and a few others but I think Apex it the best.

Apex pro launcher with the dock bar on the bottom ftw!

Using GO Launche HD. Just update to new verion, new features, delete apps from homescreen and others. Very smooth and nice I think

I second this. The go dev team really does excellent work and they are dedicated to swift updates and they are always improving their software.

I can't get either nova or apex to quite render some things right: I stick to stock

Are you using a launcher? If so, which one?

Before I potentially muck everything up, anyone share their experience?

I'm using ADWex. Its pretty smooth. I like Nova Launcher Prime, but caused too many force closes.

Sticking with Nova Launcher Prime for now, it has too many customization options I care about, also running the latest beta.
I decided to go with Apex. Is Nova crashing on you too?
...sent from Infinity
Nova is the fastest, but I can confirm it crashing all the time. Most ppl here that chose to go with custom launcher use Apex.
ADWLanucher EX is also working, although there was some discussion about the latest version getting Infinity users some trouble (see last pages in the "best apps" thread).
Actually went with SPB Shell 3D (partly because I spent money on this app waaaay back) works rather well.

Nova for me. Been using it since the very first beta. Love that it feels like native ICS, just with added features. And it's FAST! Doesn't crash that much for me, but I'm not really a power user.
Apex
I am using go hd for tab. So far so good.i tried apex and nova. They kept crashing.

Nova all the way for better widget overlap functionality. I miss all the apex transitions though.
ADW EX here. I'm liking it extensively. Just a little lag when dragging items around the home screen, otherwise, no problems for me at all.
Nova launcher for me. Haven't had it crashed a single time, using it as default.
Apex, and love it (use it on all the 'droid devices in the home, hell, the entire first-, second- and even third-degree family I provide resident geek support ).
Using Nova + Prime since I had it on my phone as well. No crashes.
Apex. It crashed a couple of times after the latest f/w update, but nothing serious.

Nova and Apex crash all the time on mine. I have gone back to the stock launcher although i hate that it wastes so much screen space! I only use 5 screens on Nova or Apex but as soon as I populate one or two screens with a widget, I get a launcher stopped error. Really frustrating. I'm waiting for Chameleon right now. Hope that will utilized the entire screen.
I went with Apex and have had no problems. (knock on wood)

re-installed Nova few days ago, surprisingly, no crashes yet.

I missed the kickstarter but I guess Chameleon well be worth waiting for.
Any supporters here already beta testing?

Apex and Nova Launchers Crashing!

I've tried both of these launchers and use them successfully on my Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7, but i can't seem to get either to run reliably on my TF700T. They both slow down and eventually crash. I only use 5 screens with one widget on each screen plus a few apps. I'm pretty familiar with both launchers but can't seem to get either to run in a stable, continuous manner. I use the latest stable paid version of each launcher.
I'm running my TF700T with the original ICS launcher and am not rooted at this time. I sure would like to get one of these launchers working since the stock launcher wastes a lot of screen space.
Thanks for any help.

I have been using Apex since I got the TF700. None issue with the launcher and I'm using live wallpaper.
Tried to re-install both launchers? Clear data/cache?
Been using Nova for over a week now, the only issue that I have is that in portrait mode it cuts the wallpaper off on the bottom and leaves the rest black. Probably an issue with the higher res on the tf700.

Nova has been know to crash a lot. Sucks too, because its a great launcher.

I used both Apex and Nova on the TF700. I thought Nova was a bit faster on transitions and opening the App drawer (and just seemed snappier), so I stuck with that. Haven't had any issues with it at this point. It does cut the wallpaper off in Portrait mode, but Apex did too.

On Apex, change animations/transitions speed to lower value or turn it off. It's pretty fast.
It does crash now and then though. Not as much as Nova, but it happens. Still better than stock.
I had issues with both Apex and Go Launcher. I also ended up sticking with stock. I've tried both again recently after some updates but still had too many issues. I was hoping that someone would post another launcher that is 100% functional and suited to the Infinity. Bummer. Hopefully the developers of those launchers will get some fixes out soon.
Apex Pro is one of the first things I installed on mine and it hasn't crashed once yet.

1 -- it behaves commendably on my devices, i.e., the SGS2 and the TF700; not a hitch on either of them.

Your tf300t seem laggy or buggy?

I bet it do, download nova launcher. You'll see what I'm talking about.
I'm sure most of you know how good it is, but it runs nicely on stock jb.

I believe thats because Nova Launcher isnt optimized for tablets. But correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah from my experience with it, it was more so for phones. Which is why I prefer Apex over Nova for my TF300.

Having no issues, the only thing different is a less buggy and smoother user experience.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using Tapatalk 2
not really had any problems with nova? what sort of problems you having?
My stock TF300 was laggy after the JB update, but once I installed Nova things really seemed to smooth out. I still have some issues when docked, but in pure tablet mode, it is very responsive now.
i have nova launcher and it runs good. very smooth and stable.
I like it more than apex and ofc stock launcher.
Try Holo Launcher HD. Amazing.
I'm running Nova Launcher over my new TF3000T with 4.1.1 and run smooooooooooooth.

ADW Launcher EX on Infinity

Anyone else enjoying the new update? So far, flows so much better than apex and nova. Transitions are smoother more numerous and prettier than ever. So many more options to choose from, I had to share.
Sent from my Transformer Pad TF700T using xda premium
I was playing with the new ADW Launcher EX last night. It is very nice. However, I uninstalled and went back to stock. Because I don't like a pop-up menu appearing when I hold on a widget. I like the JB resize handles appearing. The extra step just turned me off.
I liked 3rd party launchers in the Pre-ICS days. But since ICS forward, not so much.
Absolutely love the new version of ADW EX - they did an excellent job with it. I really like the custom fonts for desktop icons too - looks so much better than the stock font for desktop icons.
Also love the dock reflections - adds a nice touch.
Really don't have anything bad to say about ADW EX - lots of options, great performance and doesn't seem to be a RAM hog either...
Highly recommended.

One issue that I am running into is that I am a not able to reassign the function of the home icon. I usually use the home button to open and close the dock bar. So far I have not been able to do this?

How did you re-assign that key with other launchers?
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using Tapatalk 2
I had a hubs layout with instant transitions (that is, no transition), and was a big fan. Setting the transition speed to 0 accomplishes that in the old adw ex, but not in the new one. I rolled back to the old thanks to titanium. Not sure if it's a bug, an oversight or intentional.
Not saying it's bad, just doesn't suit my preferences.
Maybe I should try this too. I used stock for a long time until tried Nova. Omg what a difference with speed! Nova is so much faster than stock.
But if ADW faster than Nova I think I could be 95% satisfied with the speed of this tablet. (browser still has many problems)
I had bought ADW maybe 2 years ago and then it had problem not having updates so I changed to others. Might give it a try now. Thanks for headsup!
Try ADWLquncher ex the november update gave it a new life : before it was far slower than apex (my previous launcher) and now it's far faster and smoother

Launchers For TF700

I have searched the thread some but have not found a post itself directly relating to launchers on the TF700. I have been using Action Launcher and have tried Go, Nova, Apex, and ADW. Anyone else use any different ones and have lots of success? I am beginning to get annoyed with Action Launcher and would like to see what everyone else is using.
So, What launcher do you use? And why would you recommend it?
Hope no one minds I starting this thread. And hopefully I posted it in the correct section.

I agree it is snappier, however I notice a little lag when switching from and through the widget and applications tab but dont feel smooth because of the snappiness. I'll use Nova for a bit and see if I can get used to it.

Stock for a long time.
Apex was a favorite for about 2 months Apex was easy to setup and get used to.
GO for a while then it got a little bugged.
My winner is NOVA didn't really like it at first...once set up it became the goto for me.

I like Action Launcher but it is not really tablet friendly. It could be a lot better but at the moment it is not. I am gonna continue trying out Nova and see what becomes of it. Does anyone else experience lag when browsing the app drawer and going between apps and widgets?

Apex
I'm using ParanoidAndroid rom with dpi set to 160 and Apex is the only launcher that manages screens and drawers boundaries correctly. Nova is very similar with tons of customizations and I think a little snappier.
I've tried them all, but I keep going back to Apex. So, that is what I use on both my tablet and phone.
Nova Prime ftw..

I'm using Apex and like it a lot. Also you might try an app called "Sidebar". Well worth the 1.99 if you end up liking it.
I use Apex on my phone, but Nova on my tab. Can't think of the specific reason, but I know it adds something Apex doesn't have. Works well for me (also running croml).
I recently started using Chameleon launcher, its pretty cool!! the only downside is that you have to buy ( no free or demo version). However, is completely different from other launchers ive used. I was using Nova prime before that, which i also love.:good:
I've found none better than Apex
Apex for me, but Nova comes in a very close second
Apex is the best. Absolute love it.

I use ADW ex, the old version. The older version allows instantaneous transitions without effects, which I love in combination with hubs. I couldn't get rid of transitions the last time I tried the newest version.
I'm thinking about updating to Lightning Launcher if it does what I want. It has the right transitions, but it doesn't come with full screen linking for hubs by default. There's an addon that might make it work, and if it does, I'm all over it. LL is even lighter than Zeam but overflowing with customization options. It's fantastic with my TP2.

Why would I do that? Not trying to be rude, but it seems like you think it would suit some of my needs, but at a glance, I'm not seeing the connection.
With all these launchers, how do I create a scroll-able wallpaper between 2 screens? I've looked all over but cannot find any help...
I've installed and tried lightning launcher for about 10mn and it seems very interesting. I've used apex, nova and adw ex (my choice since december) and they all are variants of the same launcher type. I've chosen adw ex only because it's smoother on my tab than others but it's nore very fun. At the contrary lightning launcher is allowing to do unusal things for my desktop like widgets in folders or position app icons and widgets anywhere (no lines/no columns) and it's smoother. I'll give it a deeper test to see if it meets my stability, smoothness and functionalities needs.
