Looking for a totally stock european rom for HTC Explorer (Pico) - HTC Pico (Explorer)

Hello guys (and girls)
I am looking for a totally stock (official) ROM with support for German language and keyboard for the HTC Explorer.
My HTC is from Denmark and sadly no support for German
I dont need root or fancy CMrecovery stuff. Its a gift for my girlfriend and I dont want to fiddle with it as long as I got warranty.
I really hope someone can help me
Best regards from Denmark
BeeJay

Ok, I found a RUU myself... But how do I install it?
I cant select activeSync on the Explorer, and I get an USB Connection fault when I try flashing
Anyone an idea?

Check whether you have the latest version of HTC sync instaled. Then put the mobile in charge only mode and enable USB debugging.after that you can install the ruu

HELP! I'm desperate! :(

Hi everybody.. Please help me!
I am using HTC Desire HD and I had a custom ROM installed. Last night my phone turned off and since then it is not working as it should be. I tried everything.. Installing new ROM, restoring, flashing new recovery, etc. Nothing helped. I formated my SD card and I lost all data I had. I don't have any ROM installed at the moment, but I am able to connect my phone with PC via USB cable from recovery. The error message I get is: E: Can't open /cache/recovery/log and E: Can't open CACHE: recovery/log
If you need any other info to help me, just ask. I am really desperate and I don't know what to do..

I would try flashing a new rom but a default htc one
This will loose youre root and everything will be official again.
See if the problem persist.
If so i think there aint another option besides returning it to htc.
If the problem is gone you can root it again and try it again with custom rom
As a beta tester of coredroid i think you know wich rom i would recommend

thank you.. where can I find the original HTC ROM.. normally I would not ask, but I can't even think.
Message Deleted, Sorry.
Look in the desire forum for stock rom or do a google search "Flashing Stock rom back on to HTC Desire"
This will get you what you need.

I'm in the same simple situation u r..
From the way i see it now, we need to BOOT with the XTC CLIP to make the DS S-Off
Then u should root it with SUPERONECLICK.. search on the forum ..
Finally, install any ROM u would like in ROM MANGER .. (CayanogenMod / CoreDroid..)
Hope i helped
p.s.
I'm searching a different way to S-Off The Device .. so if u find another way.. pls let me know

You're right in saying that the only way to root on DSS is currently XTCclip.
But as for ROMs the only ones you'd be able to instal (except official ones) are the customs that you'll find in the android development section of this forum (although I don't believe that any are available through ROM manager).
there are four or five different cooks.....to choose from, but the number has doubled in the last week alone so things are certainly looking up.

would i be correct in saying that once i s-off'd my phone and then rooted it, i would be able to uninstall the apps installed by my telco?
i'm not opposed to using the rom installed by my telco, it seems fast enough. i only want to uninstall their stupid bloody apps (which aren't actually apps, but rather links to their website).
Yes, you are right

Can you root using Gingerbreak ? Cuz i read that you need to flash an unsecured boot.img to make SuperOneClick work. What's the difference?
excellent.
i might look into buying myself an xtc clip.
unless a software method comes up soon.

yeah, i'll probably have a look around but they're not that expensive.
i could probably then re-sell it and make my money back.
@shrome
Yes u can use Gingerbreak. That's how I rooted mine since superoneclick wouldn't work. You'll get an error message which u can ignore and then just reboot. Greetz
Edit: device still needs to be s-off to do so...

Yeah, i know about the S-OFF part, I'l wait for 2-3 weeks, then use the XTC Clip. If gingerbreak is usable, why is there so much fuss about superoneclick?? There must be some cons......do you know any? Anyway, thanks !!!
Edit: i read somewhere that gingerbreak wipes the data on ur SD card. Is that true?

I used gingerbreak 1.2 to root after getting s-off and it has done nothing at all to damage my sd-card
It made the card un-mountable when you tried to temp root with out s-off, but that was easy fixed with a battery out reboot

Did you format your SD card or did it have data? Cuz the gingerbreak page says it's better to have a formatted one, but i don't wanna format, cuz there's a lot of data on it.

copy the data from the card to your computer first.
then after you've run gingerbreak, copy the data back.
or, go buy another sdcard. they're very cheap.
Please forgive me as I am definitely a complete newbie here. I am trying to root my DS so that I can hopefully run a Bluetooth RSAP app to link my car phone system. I have sent the phone away and had it made S-OFF and I have tried to download Gingerbreak from downloads it says "cannot open file" what am I doing wrong.

I've been thinking the same, also the gold card that the xtc clip makes worked in my old desire to flash ruu's that I couldn't previously flash no matter how many times I tried to make one,so maybe a copy of the card would work for all HTC's?

[Q] install New RUU

Good day
I got my new sensation 2 days ago i need to install new RUU on the device but i don't know where to start and what to do
plz i need help thxx
You can't flash an RUU that's different from you original version. It's been covered SO many times before it's not funny.
What RUU are you trying to flash and what ROM is currently on your phone?
im trying to install "RUU_Pyramid_HTC_ARA_1.34.415.1"
and idon't know what is the current RUU on my device
my problem is :
i want to add arabic support to my device , when i run the RUU it can't discover the device, my device is connects and set to USB disk drive
You can't do it. To find the version on your handset go to Settings>About phone>Software information
And it shouldn't be connected in Disk Drive mode to run an RUU - you set it to HTC Sync (and you need HTC Sync installed on your PC)
Android Version 2.3.3
Software number 1.35.720.1
Kernal 2.6.35.10-g9cef70d
and if i can't how can i install arabic support on device??
You can't, simple as that. You need to wait until we have root access to flash a new ROM which has Arabic support built into it. Might be weeks yet
as mentioned above, you just can't at the moment, for arabic webpages however you can download Firefox which renders arabic websites without a problem, I know that doesn't solve all the problems though, the facebook app for instance can't ready arabic unless it's supported natively by the rom, don't worry though, once HTC releases its S-off update all will be fine.

So it also won't be possible to flash the "RUU_Pyramid_HTC_Europe_1.35.401.1_Radio_10.43a.900 7.00U_10.51.9007.27_M3_release_198179_signed"
to a 1.34.206.1 (Europe) device, right? =(
or is there a possibility to do this?
Would be really nice to get that unbranded version to my phone cause I really dislike waiting weeks or longer for a new branded version every time a new software version is released.. :/
That's correct, you can't debrand until we have full root access
Not what I've wanted to read but thanks for the answer :')
I hope that will change soon

You can give a shot. But take backup first..
Plz help me :banghead:
Android 4.0.4 have signal problems...Gingerbread signals are better.. i own a HTC Explorer.. to upgrade you have to first root because htc did not provided firmware 4.0.4 for explorer...
And did you try putting those simcard in another cell to test that it might not be a network problem... otherwise try a factory reset it will revert any changes... it might solve the problem if this don`t help then claim your phone warranty if availible if you don`t have warranty then i`ll suggest you to root and try another rom if changing rom did not solve the problem then contact any cell phone repairing organization only hand it to a good reparer
i hope this might help
