first of all, i did not write this script, i took it from the thread HTC Hero Speedup v2.0 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=521421), which was put together by tehseano, who i must thank, however, it seems to only work for Haykuro's Hero ROM

i got all the commands and everything working in 1.72 except for #2 to work. #2 will cause a boot loop.
#2 just deletes your htc sync, which idk what it does anyways.
in 0.2, i will try to fix this, as well as add support to change your lock screen
i got the change lockscreen part in, now just gatta see the problem with htc sync

u could try renaming it to something that will work in leopard (er tiger). idk if that would work, im not a mac user. ubuntu and windows

it cant be used for mac users, but basically a bat file just has a bunch of adb commands in it. i can post them for you if you like.

When I ran option 3, 6 and 5 in that order without a reboot and then reboot after I did all those I got a bootloop, when I did #5 it was saying success on each one. If I installed dextop-wrapper awhile back like weeks ago do I have to install it again because I didn't install it. I figured I still had it.

my only suggestion is to wipe and reinstall your ROM, then do everything in order. i cant tell you exactly, because i cant actually see your phone

please do not use option #2 once it is up, it will cause your phone to boot loop - option #2 is now used to change the lockscreen and is completely usable now

PC sync is out of all JAChero builds... i spent hours trying to fix something not there . because of this, the next release will be 0.1.5 instead of 0.2

Yes.
That's what I'm using ti with. And it's made Rosie completely usable for the first time for me.
Has anyone had the experience where Rosie was really fast when first optimizing using whatever procedure but then lags down over time? That was what I experienced when using a different optimizer. Hopefully this one is consistent.

I saw that thread the other day as I was looking for different status bar icons, it's possible, but would need a bit of editing as there are too many icons for a straight copy over. If no one else does it I'll have a pop later on.

It is not currently possible, once we have the ability to load custom rom's it will be possible.
The reason for this is that the X10's standard ROM is an Obex rom and due to this we would have to De-obex the rom make the required changes load then new rom onto the handset to get the handset to obex the rom but we are unable to do this due to not having a custom rom facility yet.
I will be trying the port again on the SE 2.1 Rom were i hope to have more luck.
p.s. i have also been in contact with the guy that made the Super Circle mod and we tried to port it over together when we realised its not possible as the x10 is an obex.

Seeing as we have the ability to edit the framework-res file along with the status bar icons, and the images from the super circle are pngs, why is it not possible?
its not a Framework only mod, it requires services.jar and framework.jar changes not to mention decompiling of 4 other XML files + the relevant services.obex and framework.obex files to be edited what is imposible untill we get the boot loader cracked.

Having only just actually SEEN it in action, sure then what your saying is right. But you could use a similar non animated version at least. I've seen another circle type battery icon which I was going to use but will still have a play with some of the SC pngs and see how it turns out.
yeah dont get me wrong you can have any icon you want, it will only post at 100-80-60-40-20-10-0 and so that is all we can ever do till we crack the boot loader.

Deodexing is possible. The files will reodex when it gets pushed back to the phone.
yeah the problem we had though is that when you try to put it onto the phone it expects them to be there already.
It should rebuild them on reboot. I tried doing it with the instructions rynoon gave and it worked. BUT I didn't modify anything when I tried it so maybe that's why it worked...
yeah, the problem is the slight back end differances between 2.1 and 1.6, the moment we get 2.1 it should be easy to implement.

What is the most stable update at the moment?
I have done CM 6.1 on a HTC Dream, was pretty happy with it.. would like to get up to 2.3 on this..
Suggestions? I am using Wind Mobile in Canada for this phone if it makes a difference.

I would try flfalcon cm7.
Their are J.Y.Daddy cm7 these were made for the motorio to use these you would need to apply bootfix.
J.Y.Daddy even ported miui ics 4.01.

Cincinnati Bell's "official" 2.2 - More or less a glorified version of Dexters 2.2 but I think the Mioz7AE found a "listening" script that may or may not send info back to developer. I would stay away from this one. Plenty more to choose from.
Wanhu 2.2 (also Wanhu's Kahl's Optimized) - Korean port of 2.2. FM radio and camera does work. Number formatting is off. App2ext works fine as does native Froyo app2sd.
XDA Special/ Hellmonger Edition - This was moveing really well and then Hellmonger's phone crapped out on him and his carrier gave him an HTC Penache, so no more support for this one. But is DOES work and worth a try.
CM6 - our developer Mioze7Ae's masterpiece (for now until he moves on to something else) All the features of CM6, including themer. Has App2ext and Link2sd.

JYDaddy's CM7 (nightly/ HoNo/ iceandfire...)
FJfalcon's CM7.1 (make massive progress daily on this one as it is being built from source).

but I have not found a good guide on Openrecovery. (EDIT) got this done, went through ADB shell.
I unzip the the openrecovery to the sd card.. gives me openrecovery.zip a directory and an images directory.
SO then to flash a new rom I just put the .zip file in the updates directory.. and bingo bongo?
Going to try Cyanogenmod 7.1 first.. not sure where to find the brovo? bravo? mentioned.

I might give this a try next.. I have bravo tweeked out.. and I like it for the most part.. but there are somethings that dont seem to work as well as my G1.
I will just save my current phone in nand and then I can just reload it all back in - correct??

I just bought an XT720 (Rooted and unlocked)
Is there any way to change the battery level increments from 10% to something more exact like 5% and how do we create a Nandroid back up?
I also want to install bravo2.2 do I need to do a factory reset before installing this rom?

Well if its Rooted, then you should have Open Recovery on it.
When you boot the phone hold VOL up and it will boot in OR...
or when you power off.. it should give you the option to reboot into RECOVERY.
There are lots of threads on here about OR .. but if you follow the menus you should be fine.. on an XT720 you push the camera button (big one) to accept a selection in the OR menu.
You can back up - which will save EVERYTHING.. a Nandroid backup is the best thing to store away somewhere should you mess up your phone.
YES you will have to loose everything when switching from 2.1 to (anything else)
If you are just updating to a newer build of something you put on.. then no.
You do the RESET and clear caches etc.. in OR.
Do a search its all on here .. usually the first page of whatever rom you want to TRY.

No, kernal(maybe driver) can't support 5% or 1% percentage battery level.
OK, so I decided that changing the SD card to a class 10 might help app usage ..
I copied the old sd card to the new one.. and if I try and get into OR .. I get the exclimation mark in triangle instead of the OR logo.
What do I need to do to get back into OR? do I need to RE-Root?

If you don't have it already, grab Mioze's modded OR for the xt720 & follow the instructions. If that's all you did was to switch sdcards there should be no need to redo everything.

I had the OpenRecovery.zip from one version mixed with the directory of the other..

OR runs from the files on the sdcard (the openrecovery folder & openrecovery.zip) if something is corrupted (or missing) you wont be able to boot into OR.
just an accurate battery & mod for GT-P6200 for CM9 DP3
Flashing this on anything other than DP3 will likely result in bootloop.
Flash .zip in recovery. There shouldn't be a need to wipe anything.
Tried to keep image/size as close to stock as possible.

Edit: Actually this may be possible with theme chooser. I was planning on making a theme chooser theme, but It seems limited/confusing and actually harder than just theming apks. So I will make a standard flashable themed .zip as well as a back to stock flashable .zip.

any fast solution i dont feel like restoring from back up wich i dont even thing that will do as well thanx for the effort anyways.

just try advanced restore and restoring /system only, you should be all set.
This is why Im not going to theme until we have a RC1.
I could try the Tmobile Theme Engine, but it seems like more work and limited as what you can theme, etc.

I dont understand why CM9 doesnt have a numbered battery icon option?? just the numerical one with slim bar.
IF you're still interested in this MOD, and you have some apk skills, you can use UOT Kitchen and pick any numbered icon batt %. If it cooks successfully, use my icons to replace them. There are other ways to do this, but I would say that would be the easiest.

Does anyone here have a flashable zip of the stock battery icon? Almost every Sense 4 ROM has this battery with percentage and i really don't like it.
So does anybody have the zip or a tut on how to change the battery icon to the normal one?

Percentage removal
Have you searched the forums or especially the one for your rom?. Have seen one for the Endyminon rom that I flashed to recently, but not sure it will help you and just getting used to android layout and file system, so would not want to misguide.
The kitchen would help, upload files as you have done and change the battery icon on the start tab, make sure you preview first.
Do not select anything else, left by default and get the kitchen to cook it! Wait for the file, put on SD card and flash. Reboot and Done!
Tried it n my phone, failed first time, (not sure why either!) got it second time , if you have a rom backup first then nothing to lose!
I have played several times with this (Kitchen) just to get used to it, easy really.
UOT is very clever and well worth experimenting with. You could try Tickle My Android if you want to change your battery icons offline, or if you want a clearer idea about how it changes.
