[ READ ME NOW! ] Please Keep the DEVELOPMENT Area Clean (instructions inside) - Galaxy S Plus I9001 Android Development

In spite of user requests and to make it easy for people to find topics that are specific to this phone model i9001
I'll be flexible and allow General topics, Q&A topics, and Themes to be left within this originally designed DEVELOPMENT only area.
Instead of making a new topic for every little thing please try to keep everything withing this 2 topics:
Galaxy S Plus I9001 General
Galaxy S Plus I9001 Q&A
NOTE: Accessories still belong in the main Galaxy S I9000 Accessories section as they are all compatible.
Thank you

Please help your Moderators, all questions will be moved to Q&A

Imagine yourself you are a Mod and you have to dialy move dozens of threads just because members do not take care of reading what every section is intended for?
We would like to ask your cooperation to make the forum sections the more clean as possible, remember this is General section, and as it describes:
General
Anything that involves all of the phones and doesn't fit in any of the other fora.
All Questions like the recurrent "what phone should I buy" should go to Q&A section, threads will be moved or deleted.
Please help us!
With the number of users that we have on this site, we rely on users to show maturity, self restraint, respect and civility to others, a significant level of responsibility and, above all, to do their bit to engender an environment that is self policing and tolerant. If we all did this then you definitely would not need moderators to come in and clear out the mess every 10 seconds.
.
Hi all,
Just a reminder that we have now an Android General section where you can place all your general stuff related to the OS.
Remember here at XDA we cover many other OS´s as well.
Please use the new section!

must stay away from Q&A, must stay away from Q&A, must stay....
Q&A are bad....
words from our esteemed leader Red5 aka Gold Leader aka Red5:
"Lets start things off right by first, searching the forums for a thread thats already been started and look for people that may have already encountered what you are experiencing and possibly have a fix for. If not, then you can post in that ALREADY EXISTING thread instead of starting a new thread.
When starting a new thread, it needs to go in the right section. If its a question, then it needs to go in the Q&A section. If its a generalized thread about something related to the HOX, then it goes in the General section.
NOTE: Questions should not be posted in the General section. The Development section is STRICTLY made for development. A new thread should not be started in the Development thread unless it is to introduce a new tool/guide/rom/kernel/radio... anything dev related. If you start a new thread in the Development section that is not development related, your thread will be deleted and you will be infracted. Let this be your final warning.
With all of this falling into place, the forums will be much cleaner and will function more smoothly. With that, the developers will be able to address issues more efficiently and will not feel overwhelmed. The last thing we want is for our developers to take time away from developing because of redundant posts asking "how do I do this?". We want them to continue on with development for our device, so lets help them out.
Do your part to take some time and search/read the forums because chances are, your question or issue has already been addressed. If this cant be done, then I will have to put on the gloves and start weeding out the trouble makers until this forum is back under control and operating smoothly. "

HTC One (M7) Development Sticky Roll-Up Thread **Check this thread BEFORE posting**

Please Note:Besides the currently sticked threads there will be absolutely no permanent stickies created in the HTC One (M7) Development forum.
There will be a temp sticky that will get replaced on the next request, the previous sticky will go into the Roll-UP ThreadThis thread will list and link to all threads worthy of being "stickied".
Please leave your suggestions for new threads [with the thread link please] to be added to this list below and a moderator will attend to this as and when necessary.
Indexed listing of ROMS, kernels, guides, tools & mods Have a nice stay!
HTC International Moderator Team
Hello all,
As you can see we did some maintenance in this forum.
Rearranged Sticked Threads.
Our goal is to eventually do this with all HTC International Forums Upcoming for sure and when enough spare time older devices.
The reason behind it is to get some consistency across our sections.
Makes it easier for ppl to find Real Important Device Essential Stuff
And of course all other sticky worthy threads.
The Setup will be like this.
1 Moderator announcements/rules.
2 Core device essentials sticky with RUUs, Recoveries, Radios, Firmware etc.
3 Sticky Roll-Up thread
4 One Temp sticky if sticky worthy, on the next sticky worthy request the old sticked goes into Roll-Up
5 Spare Sticky for whatever important thing pops up (bricks / other device damaging serious warnings)
The 4th sticky is there so everybody can gets his/hers fair change to get some stuff in the spotlights.
The procedure is merely there to avoid questions like "His got sticked, why mine is not?"
But we as Moderator team do think there should be a limit of 4/5 Sticky Threads to keep it clean and organized etc.
Of course this is somewhat a trial and we are willing to finetune it based on members input.
But so far i think its a good attempt to get HTC International Forums Organized and hopefully it reduces the unnecessary questions

Device boards aren't always the best

There's a few of us out there with old devices. Quite a few stuck with Android 2.1.
If I post in my device forum (Nook NST) we only have 3-4 active members discussing.
It would be nice to have all Android 2.1 devices under one roof as well as their own sections (tags). I see the same problem with non rooted i9000 discussion and plenty of others.
If we try to post in a more general forum our posts get deleted. What can we do? Individually we are few, together we are many.
I run Cyanogenmod where I can to try to cut down this such versioning but the xda forum is also a problem.
I'm sure there was a section for discussing the forum itself before

[Completed] Why no forums for high-end Straight Talk devices like Galaxy S3 / S4

While it's possible to find threads here about certain fancier Straight Talk phones like the SCH-968C, they are not all in their own dedicated forums.
Surely there are people who would appreciate being able to discuss development for these phones. There is a competing forum that has them, but why aren't said phones available here as forums?
Here's the other (not-as-pretty) site with the Straight Talk phones: http://androidarea51.com/index.php
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist Making a Separate Forum for a device depends on lot of aspects and hence not all device will have dedicated forums. you can request here
*** New Device Forum Requests ***
were Admin's see it and based on various factors they decide whether a separate forum is needed or not
Good Luck!
