[ROM][EXTRAS] PRIME! v1.7 | Latest Asus Build++ | HTJ85B.prime_epad-1.7-20110804 - Eee Pad Transformer Android Development

PRIME! v1.7
This is a tweaked stock rom for the Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101
Special thanks to: CaNsA | Hacre | afm | MoDaCo | dc13 | supercurio | Bumble-Bee | RaYmAn | netarchy | Vividboarder | CurtisBeef
This rom is a work in progress and all feedback is appreciated. It is build from the stock rom and has a few tweaks added. As always whenever installing any rom, please take care to follow instructions as no one enjoys seeing their prized possesion not working.
Instructions:
1. Copy ROM to sdcard
2. Verify the MD5 of the zip on the sdcard, DO NOT FLASH IF THIS DOESN'T MATCH THE MD5 UNDER THE DOWNLOAD LINK!
3. Boot into clockworkmod recovery
4. Take a nandroid backup (optional but highly recommended)
5. Install the ROM
6. Reboot and wait... The more apps you have installed the longer the first boot will take... Please not that after the lock screen comes up your TF may be sluggish for a minute while the rom initialises.
7. After a successful restart, you can change the default power mod if desired.
Due to changes made in the launcher for 1.7 you might get a black background after the first boot. The wallpaper picker may also force close. A reboot will sort this problem out.

WMV Patch
I've discovered that the netflix library patch breaks WMV support. Here's a patch to put back the original library and to re-enable wmv support. Also the netflix library seems to have the undesirable effect of process locking the /system folder so it cannot be remounted and as such is always in rw mode. I suspect that this may be a bad thing in the long run for I/O.

Awesome stuff Roach! Thanks a bunch for your hard work...
I will be updating my PCB Blue theme as soon as I get a chance too!

Once again, Thank you! Can you also release nvflash bins like you did the last time. I am dual-booting with ubuntu and have no CWM partition, so the easiest for me would be to use nvflash. Or how can I tweak this update file, so it doesn't overwrite recovery partition when I will update from booted 1.6 ? Thanks.
Oh and I made a torrent again.

+1 interested un the nvflash files as well

Seems I'm the first installing it... ;-)
@Roach2010 Thanks dude. I came from the a rooted DE_8.4.4.11 and as I'm a lazy guy, this ROM is exactly what I was looking for.
Installation via CWM worked easy, the first boot as well. So far everything is running as it should be.
Thanks again.

sweeet been waiting for Prime to hit 3.2 .. cant wait to check out the update! thanks for all your hard work.

After flashing over 1.6,the wallpaper was black, so went to reset the wallpaper, and get force close when setting a wallpaper. Setting a live wallpaper works. I did flash the Xoom icons from the 1.7 beta thread, though.

Might be something to do with the changes I made to the Launcher apk. Try rebooting as that has worked for someone else. Might only be a first boot issue.
I've updated the OP to say a reboot is needed after first run.

thanks, reboot did fix it.

Does the rom zipaligno n every boot or just the first one? And do i need to wipe if coming from 1.6v1? And while im asking questions, did the 3.2 update change the sd card handling for the tf or is it the same as it was previously? Im not sure i want to update if it switched to the new read only between the two medias

Flashed over latest Magnus rom with no wipe. So far no issues, Netflix still working.

Yes, No and Sort of
It does zipalign on every boot, but only if an apk needs it.
You don't need to wipe but read the OP about changes to framework.
The update added the MicroSD card showing up in windows but you can copy between medias just fine.

Anybody got the 32GB splash screen?

as always great job... thanks roach you are the man...

SDCARD Partitioning Tutorial.
I know that with EXT4, partitioning the sdcard can be a hassle. Here's a little workaround to help you get it partitioned the easiest way I know without having to mount systems and such in Terminal Emulator. This way makes you flash 2 seperate recoveries, but I would rather do this than the other methods which could take upwards of a half hour or even longer. I've seen people that were working on it for a couple hours. Without further adieu:
NOTE: If you are running RFS, just follow step 1. and you'll be done. If you are running EXT4, skip right to step 2. and follow from there.
1. If you are running RFS, then you do not need to follow any other steps. In the green CWM2.5.5 recovery, just go to "advanced" in recovery and choose the Partition option. It's going to give you two questions for sizes that you want. The first size is going to be the ext size. For this it will give you a few options, but I don't recommend choosing anything below 512. You will see all the options when they pop up, just choose what you feel most comfortable with. The next thing it's going to tell you to select is the swap size. I again don't recommend choosing anything below 128 for this option. You will again see a list of options, so choose what you feel most comfortable with.
2. If you are running EXT4, then follow these steps and you'll be up and running with your new partition very soon. First thing you need to do is gather all the tools you're going to need. Here are the list of tools you will need:
A. One Click Root & Recovery 2.5.5
B. One Click Root & Recovery 3.0.0.6
Quite the long list huh? lol ...I told you it's gonna be simple lol.
Download both of these files (if you don't have one or the other already) and extract them to an easy to find location on your computer somewhere.
3. Ok, you're going to do this just the same as you would if you were rooting your phone from a stock state. And to answer your question that's running through your head right now, No, this will not return you to RFS. You will still be on EXT4 the entire time, so there's not real need to backup your sdcard or worry about having to sit through the backup&restore again. Once again, to be very clear... Even though you are flashing cwm2.5.5 recovery, you will REMAIN EXT4. So let's continue. Make sure USB Debugging is on and plug your phone into your computer. Do NOT mount the sdcard, just have the phone plugged in. Open the One Click Root & Recovery 2.5.5, and run the program. When it's finished, your phone will reboot. Do NOT unplug it until the script is complete. The script will say "Operation Complete. Hit any button to continue" or something along those lines. Just hit a button and the script will automatically close. You can now reboot into recovery and you will see the 2.5.5 recovery with the green letters. If you don't have the green letters, then you didn't run the right One Click, and you should start over using the correct one lol . For those that successfully flashed the 2.5.5 recovery, move on to step 4.
4. If you have the green letters, then we'll continue, if not, repeat step 3. with the correct one click lol. Now that you have the green letters, revert to step 1. When you're finished following the same instructions from step 1, move on to step 5. If you have any issues with anything from step 1. (which you shouldn't, but if you do) click here to go to Mibbit's irc chat website. Along the top left side you will see 2 tabs labeled "Home" and "Connect". Make sure you are on the tab that says "Home". When on the tab labeled "Home", you will see the box in the middle of the page. Right beside the letters "IRC:" is a dropdown box. You're going to click on the dropdown arrow and select "EFNET". Next, you're going to enter your nickname, and finally, beside "channel:" type "#viper" and select "Go". That will bring you to Team Vipers chat where one of us will be able to help you.
5. Now that you are partitioned, it's time to restore the EXT4 recovery. If you do not restore the EXT4 recovery, you will not be able to flash any new ROM's or Kernels, so you MUST restore the correct recovery. To do so, you simply do the same steps. Make sure USB Debugging is turned on and plug your phone in. You do NOT need to mount. Now you simply run the 3.0.0.6 One Click Root & Recovery. Let it run through it's process and it will reboot itself. Do NOT exit out of the command prompt until it says "finished, press any key to continue". Once your phone reboots, you can then reboot into recovery and you will see that you have the orange letters again. When you see the orange letters, you now have a partitioned sdcard and you are back on the correct recovery.
**ONCE THE KERNEL IS RELEASED (Which should be within the next 24 hours as long as my testers don't see any issues) THEN MOVE ON TO STEP 6.**
6. Now that you're partitioned, the only thing left to do is flash the kernel. Connect your phone to your computer and copy the Kernel to your sdcard if you have not done so already. To flash it, just choose "Install zip from sdcard" followed by "Choose zip from sdcard" and simply navigate to where you stored it on your sdcard. That's all. It's quite quick and painless and you should be able to do it all within 10-15 minutes.

Do i sense a 3.0.1 update to be sweet! or is the current 3.0 this version?
Hi BT. Thanks for the great ROM. I am using 3.0 right now. What is the difference between 3.0 and 3.0.1? Thanks. Keep up the great work! And one quick question. When I try to install lagfix, everythiing works besides the last step, installing viperspeed. It says I cant install it because I dont have enough room. but I have 185MB free. any ideas?
Link? I hope it's not there or else I'll feel more jerky than usual. Oh and super-thanks for those file names on the battery mods, so important... I have a mess of files like GREENBATMODTHISTHAT with no versions or anything and I guess I didn't realize that I needed to keep mods organized by ROM.

3.0.1 is just a new name for it so if we make updates there's less confusion... It's still the same as 3.0, but hopefully this will eliminate some questions in the thread lol.

I think 3.0.1 is just the updated version of 3.0.
3.0.1 does have the aosp lock screen the 4g is fixed
and couple other things... At least that i think lol
Hope that helps

Can you please clarify this for me, because I tried earlier and it gave an error when trying to install the terminal. Also I have used linux before but never used a terminal on a phone before lol...can you write down a few steps for us newbies
Again Thank you for your work and to your team
Hey BT there is a app called WidgerLocker Lockscreen which lets you put any widget/app i believe on you lock screen that might be helpful i think..
Just installed it and brought back the aosp lock screen might wanna check it out... Send me a pm of ur email so i can send u the apk cause its a paid app
Another quick question BT, what are the other options for in the lagfix? Are they for future upgrades or not necessary at all?
Hey BT I just want to thank you for all your hard work and your great rom. I hope this hasn't been answered but is it necessary to remove my original root before flashing any of your roms? I have flashed most all of them and I have not deleted it. I'm not having any problems with 3.0. Thank you....

nope you don't have to...just wipe 3x, wipe cache 2x, and wipe dalvik cache ONCE and flash the rom then you are good to go (assuming you are using the correct modem and if not then flash it first with odin)

[NIGHTLY][ROM][GRJ22] CyanogenMod 7 for vendor Vega | Android 2.3.4

What are nightly builds?
Nightly builds are automated builds from latest cyanogenmod sources. they are not tested in deepth like RC's or stable versions. In most cases they work without any issues. Thats because all patches get reviewed before they are merged into sources - this way, merging of bad code doesnt happen very often.
Since vega does not have official nightly status yet, i do semi-official builds for you on a semi regular basis. We will get official nightlies, once bluetooth is working - but that is a pretty complicated issue.
Vendor vega
The vendor vega is currently for Advent Vega and PoV Mobii devices. There might be more added later on.
Official nightly mirror
http://mirror.teamdouche.net/?device=vega
Update 31.05.2011
buildbot had a hdd crash, and it can take some more days until nightlies are back online. that long, i might post semi-official nightlies here.

Nightly changelog
http://cm-nightlies.appspot.com/?device=vega
Nightly install instruction
Coming from another rom?
Do a full wipe in clockwork mod recovery
Install latest nightly build from here
Flash latest gapps from here
reboot
do the first-time-run-setup wizard
if you dont use gsm/phone, reboot to recovery and flash attached vega-phone-removal.zip - saves battery
Upgrading from older nightly?
Just flash latest rom from here in clockworkmod recovery
No need to wipe or flash gapps again, if you done on first install
In rare cases you will encounter bugs, noone else encounters - wipe then and do a fresh install
In at least 99% no wipe needed - there are known people not having wiped for at least half a year
Doing a nandroid backup before upgrading is always a wise idea, in case something goes wrong
if you dont use gsm/phone, flash attached vega-phone-removal.zip - saves battery
reboot to your updated rom and enjoy
Overclocking instructions
use settings->cm settings->preformance->cpu settings to switch frequencies. optionally use setCPU and similar tools.
USB Host mode instruction
to enable usb host mode for keyboard, mouse and other support, power device off. power it back on. once the screen gets lit, press and hold back key until device is booted (you see the homescreen or lockscreen). now you can connect various usb devices.
clockworkmod 3 for vega
with nightly 61 and later, use rom manager to flash latest stable recovery.
List of known bugs
This is a list of cm7 bugs specific to vega - i wont cover cm7 general bugs here, since they are covered on other places. Feel free to discuss them here, thats what this thread is for.
no legacy a2sd yet - working on it
power->reboot->recovery doesnt work and power->reboot->bootloader should be removed
Removed Themes
To save space, we had to remove the two cm included themes. If you want them, just download them here and install like any other app.

This seems really sweet!
I have some questions:
1) Can the soft buttons be placed further away from each other? Unlike the Nook Color, the Advent Vega has a screen with touch registering issues and it's probably easy to misclick buttons if they're in the normal disposition.
2) What's the "encore" release for?
Danke für die Anstrengung!
Hi i tried to install CM7 before the version b2 and now this one and both stuck at the boot screen with android and the arrow makes circles. Do i miss something? i tried full wipe + format sd but still nothing. I must wait longer than 20 min?
Any suggestions
Thank you

Yes, I checked the file on my SDcard its the Vega file. I checked as well the build.prop and updater-script, it says definitely Vega.
When I am back home tonight I will reflash stock ROM to recover and retry flashing your ROM.
The Vega rom boots and runs nice. Its very odd having statusbar going from bottom to top but very cool. Nice work. Now back to testing
Just one question, why did you post Nook Colour rom here? Encore is Nook, right?
Maybe we could have multi language, would be nice
Edit. You answered before i posted, im to slow

Does the ROM require EXT2/3/4 on the SD card? I don't have it and this is the only thing I can think about at the moment which might be different.
The ROM comes with its own kernel? I had before installed [KERNEL] Buzz Vega | .32.35 | CIFS | TUN | EXT4 | SLAB | NOOP | WiFi | NTFS | HOST/SLAVE | 0.7, Updated 25/03/11 from buzzing bee. But that should have been overwritten when I flash your ROM.

I came from CorvusVega rom but as long as you wipe everything cache, dalvik, system, data, boot, it shouldnt be a problem. I hate that we cant get in to recovery from off position. If thats possible to do with some hack that should be the next big thing
Hello,
when i try to download your ROM i became a error 404 file not found.
new build, new features, new links - updated first post.
and yes, its buzz kernel - no idea if he made slight modifications, but its the same guy responsible for buzz kernel and vega cm7 target.

Does this means we can do the switch to host mode by the back button trick?
Can anyone try?
Thanks!
Got the ROM finally working, maybe during 1st flash something went wrong.
Its still the old version, new version is still downloading (terrible slow connection here in China).
I installed it on a Viewsonic Viewpad 10s, which is the Vega but with build in 3G card. Unfortunately the card is not working. when I go to the settings -> Wireless & network settings -> Mobile networks, I can enable data communication, but he does not find any provider and the signal in the task bar shows no signal.
In the stock 1.09 ROM its working without any problems.
Will download latest version, test again and report here.

should work. feel free to flash another kernel over this. changes are not kernel related.
current build got some minor bugs which I fix when I get back tonight. mainly the new soft button. check nook color thread for details
Morsed by hitting a plastic pipe with my Desire HD. Excuse typos.
I believe this rom will have the same kernel as Bumble-Bee's CM7 build, so no host and no a2sd!
However I have asked BB to make a new kernel so hopefully he will do this asap.
Great Rom!! Thanks for sharing your work & time with us.
Thinks I like.
CM7 Booting image
CM7 look & tweaks
CM7 Table tweaks, especially bottom bar.
Host mode working. N1!
Don't like:
The bar buttons. Really don't like them.Any change of changing them? I know it's a silly thing but them seem huge to me.
Bugs I found:
Default Keyboard going on and off every time I press a key. Annoying.
Wifi disconnecting randomly and not reconnecting in a while.
Touch Screen not responding until I change orientation. Weird.
Thanks!

We are all diffrent i like the soft buttons. about keyboard going on and off try moving soft buttons to right side and remove quick notification button. That fixed it for me. The buttons can be changed back later than it will work as it should. But i think theres some strange behavior from quick notification button, for example when pressing it it shuts down the screen it dont answer to any touches only on soft buttons, so i have to press the statusbar up and from there press the back button then it wakes up. I dont know, maybe its supposed to be like that.
Very nice ROM. Flashed it last night and seems to work nice. The buttons work great.
However i have a performance issue. A couple of minutes it works very smooth and then it freezes for a while and then continues. Still have the problem after a couple of reboots and after using it for a few hours.
second i installed the gapps that are available for CM7 (the metapackage wich should also work for tegra based devices). I can download apps, but then i cannot see in the market as downloaded.
I came from Modaco r8 and did a full wipe before installing.
Keep up the good work.
EDIT: When the screen freezes only the statusbar and the buttons are responding on touches. The rest of the screen does not respond. The screen will respond again when i change the orientation of the screen (i.e. from landscape to portrait and back to landscape).

[ROM] 25-04-11 Gambaro ROM V0.2 for P10AN01 tablets (Vega, Viewpad 10s, Mobii, ...)

Small update, still working on this ROM.
V0.2 changes:
Changed to CorvusKernel 0.1
Added reboot option to power menu
Added file manager
New ClockWorkMod recovery
Would like to use one of these overclock kernels, but I get different issues with them when applying to a stock ROM. So for now I have to stick to the CorvusKernel 0.1
Download from here.
2 Ways of installation:
1) Gambaro ROM V0.2
Download ZIP file, copy to your SDcard and use ClockWorkMod to flash it.
2) Gambaro ROM V0.2 NV
Get the ROM from my Downloadpage.
Unzip it to a folder.
Switch off your tablet
Connect USB cable to PC
Boot into NVidia recovery by pressing back button 2 seconds, while holding back button press power button for 2 seconds, while still holding back button release the power button, then release the back button after 2 more seconds
Start lvds.bat and the ROM will be flashed.
If you get problems with the USB drivers or have other difficulties, check ”Advent Vega ? ROMs / Software Updates / Guides / How Tos, Links to ROMs, Flash Updates, Guides, Misc apk’s” on MoDaCo. There you find help for nearly every possible problem.
Have fun and give me feedback.
And as usual: You use this ROM on your own risk. I am not responsible if you break your device, loose warranty, get into a fight with your wife or loose important company data from your SDcard.
More pictures and the download are on my website.
V0.1 Changes:
Removed unnecessary apps like Korean Keyboard, Market replacement apps (didn't work anyway), LiveWallpapers, iFilemanager (FC with BuzzVega Kernel 0.7), help guides, ...
Updated APN list
Changed hosts file with ads block
Replaced wpa_supplicant for access to AdHoc WiFi accesspoints
Changed to Buzz Vega Kernel 0.7
Added new bootloader.bin for BSOD fix.
Added ClockWorkMod recovery and reboot APK from Paul
Added my mod of the NI keyboard
And of course it has the Messaging app, so you can send and receive SMS and MMS.
And just in case someone needs I added Titanium Backup and Visionary Root
And of course the main Google apps -> Market, Gmail, Contacts and Calendar
I kept the original launcher and added the VTL launcher, but its easily upgradeable, as it is installed in /data/app/
I kept as well the Adobe Flash Player V10.1.120.10, as it was coming with the original ROM.
On the graphic side I changed the status bar to a smaller one and replaced the red home/menu/back buttons with green ones. I replaced as well the blue 3G/E/G icon against green ones. The standard wallpaper is my favorite picture of Mount Fuji.
And here are some screenshots:

Sorry, flash with CWM is not possible yet. I do not like the stock ROM method as well, but still trying to figure out how to move to CWM flashable ZIP file version.
At the moment, I end always up with a bootloop.
Positive with this version is that with one flash you get the ROM and CWM and BSOD and Kernel installed.

Now I have a spare Vega with WiFi only on sale.
V0.2 is up.
Tried this rom yestaday and it very good.its fast and stable.only problem i had was google maps wasnt finding my location through wifi.i have a advent vega and it doesnt have gps but on corvus 0.5 and cm7, google maps finds my location.any ideas?
Sent from my advent vega using Tapatalk
Did you enable location by WiFi in the settings?
To be honest, I did not try this function yet, as I use my HTC Desire with GPS to set my location.
Will try to find the problem and how to fix it. Seems to be a problem with stock ROMs.
one finger typed from my Android tablet, please excuse misssprllings
Thanks for you reply.yes i enabled it in settings.i think it must be a problem with something thats not used in cm7 and corvus vega rom 0.5. Its not a big issue but it just made me wonder why it wasn't working.

[ROM] [ICS] VegaCream for Advent Vega, PoV Mobii Tegra and likes

[INTRODUCTION]
This ROM is based of the joined effort of a couple of devs (Cass, Eduardo, Corvus, Scanno and Brucelee666) who are working on getting ICS as good as possible for our device. This has resulted in a git repository where all the specific files and patches are located that are needed to compile the Android 4.0.4 AOSP source code and create a working ROM.
I am trying to keep the git repository up-to-date so that all the devs that would to compile the AOSP source code can use the repository to build a good working base rom and put effort in improving the ROM instead of figuring everything out themselves.
I am making VegaCream because i would like to have done this and have some knowledge about making roms. I am working in the IT business for almost 20 years and like many i have a professional and personal life. That means that if i am lucky i have 8 hours per week that i can spend time on this ROM. My wife, my child and my own health are more important then this ROM, so lets keep everything simple and nice. This is supposed to be fun and a hobby (at least it is for me). Let's keep it that way.
[SPECIFICATIONS]
This ROM is based on AOSP 4.0.4 and the device config made by Cass, Eduardo, Corvus and myself (see https://github.com/vegaics).
- DPI is set at 120dpi
- Default ICS Launcher installed
- Apex Launcher installed
- Filemanager installed
- Terminal installed
- Google Apps is installed. This means that the Google base is installed and all the apps that are available in the Play Store are not installed (i.e. GMail, Maps)
- All languages that are available in AOSP are included
- Partition layout is the same as VegaICS beta1 / Modded stock
- /system/app, /system/lib, /system/fonts, /system/framework and /system/usr are Squashfs filesystems.
[INSTALLATION]
With BETA2 there are two ways of installing VegaCream:
- Installing the CWM update zip from recovery
- Using the NVFLASH windows executable.
Use the CWM update zip when you are sure that you have the correct partition layout (modded stock or VegaICS). Always do a *Full Wipe* BEFORE installing the zip file.
Use the NVFLASH installer when you are not sure if you have the correct partition layout or want to repartition and format your NAND. Put your tablet in nvflash mode (back-power-back) and run the exe in windows.
*ATTENTION* The Install zip is *BETA* and it does not have nice text or a good working progress bar. My primary efforts are going to the ROM itself at the moment.
[WORKING]
VegaCream is now on the same level as VegaICS beta1 is. That means it has the same stuff working but it has also the same things that do not work and / or the same problems.
- Wifi (same connection problems as VegaICS beta1)
- Bluetooth (Did not test a lot, but it pairs and communicates)
- (P)EAP (I could connect to the enterprise wifi AP that is available at my work, it connects and could update my apps through the Play Store. The Signal Strength indicator is NOT working when connected to that AP)
- Camera (same as VegaICS beta1)
- 3G (most huawei 3G modems)
[NOT WORKING]
All hardware should be working now
[CREDITS]
- Cass
- Eduardo
- Corvus
- Scanno
- Brucelee666
- Areo
*WARNING*
As you might already have read, some people have problems with their touchscreens after flashing a new ROM (this can happen with any ROM). In worst case their touchscreen has died. There has been an investigation into this problem and the conclusion is that there are bad batches of touchscreens that can die when they overheat. This is also due to a design flaw of our tablets. As a precaution it is strongly adviced to disconnect the power from the tablet when booting the first time after flashing a new ROM. This because after flashing a new ROM, the tablet needs to do a lot of processing and that generates heat and increases the change of overheating the touchscreen.
If you feel VegaCream is worth it and would like to show your gratitude (the donate link is added on request):
AND also do NOT forget about ejtagle and brucelee666 for their great work.

Hi!
If Modded stock is a MUST for this ROM, then it would be cool if you could also post a MF link for it, because files are scattered all around various forums and some links don't work anymore.
And good luck with your ROM developement!

Just flashed this but everytime I reboot it sits at a blank screen.. Have had to reflash tablet on every occassion have had to reboot ....
Gone back to previous rom(VegaICS) as can't have a tab thats not booting...
Also apps such as BBC Iplayer would not work as on opening it would then open web browser and take you to iplayer home page..Seems to be a flash issue...
Oddly Flash (latest) is working fine on VegaICS as is BBC iplayer.
Finally Could not get usb mouse, gps, usb stick or usb card reader to work with tablet but it connects to pc etc fine....

Due to the way the ROM is laid out, you want to do a full wipe, then install the VegaCream zip, then reboot. If you wipe after you install the VegaCream zip you'll lose a lot of apps and functionality (as it stores things in /data).

Good Job Scanno.
Also some on the POV Movii now have 3G working so imo yeah it's better than VegaICS, also that has been discontinued whereas Vegacream is still in development.

[Nook HD] CM10.1 native EMMCNow part of CM nightliies

By popular demand, I am bringing to you CM10.1 that you can install into Nook's internal ROM.
Note, this version totally overwrites your ROM, so back up everything important before proceeding. This is not a dual-boot solution, you do loose B&N ROM for good after installing this.
This is work in progress, yadda yadda.
Follow this install guide substituting various filenames with filenames below if you don't understand the below instructions
Get nookhd-emmc-cwm.img.gz, gunzip and write it to an sdcard of at least 1G in size (all content on that card will be lost). (use dd under Linux and MacOS, use Win32DiskImager or similar tool under Windows, use 7zip under windows to unpack).
Download CWM recovery zip if you want internal recovery to be replaced with CM one (if you don't know what is it about, then you need it). As another option there's a graphical TWRP recovery available. (you can only have one recovery option)
Also download latest nightly from http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=hummingbird
You can write installation zips for recovery, cm binary + whatever else you need and transfer them to Nook user storage (if you have it activated and all), OR add all these files + whatever other packages you might need right away on to the sdcard.
Insert sdcard into Nook and reboot the Nook, next install recovery (if desired) and the cm10.1 binary and whatever else you put there.
Use Install zip from sdcard, if you copied installation zips to sdcard, otherwise use "choose zip from internal sdcard" - both options are in "Unstall update from zip file".
Erase /data (only on initial install, this is important to avoid crashes on bootup! Naturally, make sure you have copies of whatever important info from there before you remove).
Remove the sdcard from the Nook. You might need to use this sdcard for your recovery needs in the future should EMMC content become badly damaged, so probably a good idea to have a copy of it somewhere.
Congrats, now on reboot you'll get into cm10.1 on your Nook HD.
When you need to get into recovery, you can either do "reboot to recovery" in reboot menu (need to enable that in settings) or reboot the nook, and when you see original nook boot logo, press and hold power + home buttons for about 4 seconds.
If you plan to use USB Host feature, you will need a gender changer, as B&N decided not to release a special cable so far. The control to enable USBHost is in quick settings panel (slide down in the top right corner of the screen to bring it up).
Known problems:
- Nook app reports incompatible in market (workaround1: just sideload it ; workaround2: change ro.product.device to nookhd in build.prop) - This is because they specifically blacklist Nooks! For workaround #2, revert the value back to hummingbird when done installing, otherwise you'll lose sound.
- Certain sdcards still remain unstable.
- Google Earth crashes when you press "my location" button, but works fine otherwise.

13/06/10 - cm-10.1-20130611-UNOFFICIAL-hummingbird-emmc.zip
- Initial release
This is unrelated development to bokbokan's sdcard/hybrid install, because he does not make his source code available, so don't ask me to pick features from his build.
oh my god
finally,
Works great.

Sweet!!!!!!
Will test it out.
I guess this means we will have access to a working repo soon so we all can start building from source.

Woohoo! Fantastic work! And thank you so much for posting source.
New binary release: cm-10.1-20130612-UNOFFICIAL-hummingbird-emmc.zip
Changes:
- Fixed HDMI audio
- Fixed HDMI video upside-down picture
- Added usb audio support
- Enabled tabbed view in Settings app. (This seems to be looking ok, but if you find it's too bad, let me know and we certainly can try to roll it back or only have it for landscape or some other stuff).
Thank you!! :victory:
Running fantastic for me. Thanks.
AMAZING! I just wanted to cruise by the forums because I was bored with nothing new until I see this post! Awesome work is all I can say. Does this mean no more reboot restores with /system and complete control and customization of the device without the unlocked bootloader?
Haven't look at the code yet, but I believe if you change "ro.product.device" in "build.prop" you will loose all the sound.
Can someone test it?
Niiiiice! Thanks, been waiting on this.
Now, quick question: There is a stock ROM to flash, right? I just exchanged another HD & it was easy enough to just remove the SD card. I've only had this HD a week.
Thanks!
Oh yeah, I remember now: Yes, there is.

This is a ROM to replace the stock on emmc. You should back up your stock first. E.mote has an excellent tutorial that verygreen links in his OP here. Then you can restore that backup to get back to stock if you need to return it.
Edit: Guide is here. Just substitute the files from the OP instead of the ones listed in the guide:

I guess I wasn't clear in my question (too early). I just needed to know if there was a stock ROM to flash back to stock in case I had to return it. Of course, I could just Nandroid my stock install too (DUH, didn't think about that, just like you said).
Updating to latest ROM?
Folks,
I picked up a Nook HD+ 16Gb last night and followed the guide to install CM10.1. Everything went smoothly. A big THANK YOU to verygreen and lepinlar for all the work in creating this and the guides/instructions on how to install.
I've got a couple questions:
I installed the cm-10.1-20130608-UNOFFICIAL-ovation-emmc ROM and have made some changes on the tablet (added my daughters as Users, downloaded some apps, etc). How would I go about upgrading to the cm-10.1-20130612-UNOFFICIAL-hummingbird-emmc ROM? Would I lose the changes I've already made? Is there way to install/upgrade to the new ROM and keep the changes I've already made? Thanks.

First you do not want to flash that ROM to your HD+. If you look at the filenames you will see ovation (which means HD+) and hummingbird (which means HD). But if you want to upgrade to a newer ovation ROM, just flash the newer ROM over the top of your old ROM. It will keep all your changes you've made.

Lepinlar,
Sorry about the post. I didn't read it close enough to realize it was for the HD (not the HD+). Should I delete my original post so it doesn't confuse anyone else?

No, it might actually help others users who are confused by the issue. Leave it there as originally posted.

Awesome ROM, thanks for doing this. Battery life vs stock is amazing, UI looks much better, more customizable, great having root to back up apps and etc.
I had a small issue with the 06/08 build on my HD+ where the battery would not recharge. Power cycling (turning it off and then on again) seemed to fix it. Is anyone seeing this issue with this 06/12 build? Thanks!
