[Q] Rooting Palm Pre? - WebOS Software and Hacking General

So, I'm looking to root my Palm Pre, but I've seen a million half-assed tutorials on how to do this. Can someone give me an idiot proof tutorial on doing this?

You don't "root" a Palm Pre for a start.
Download and follow the instructions in the Preware Homebrew Documentation app in the official app catalog. It has step-by-step instructions with screenshots, and thousands of people have used it successfully.

Android is not a special "thing" you just put anywhere and run, it has a kernel and is composed out of drivers and configurations, i'm pretty shure everething is out there but needs to be packed out together...
I'm a software developer but i have no experience compiling Android, my research is driving me to the HTC Lexikon (Merge) recently launched, this PDA hardware is very similar to the Imagio and it stock's Android so the work will be almost done and we won't need to start from "0", if you can help about please contact me..
Try this one

Post your results !!!
Has AnyOne tried his solution?
the lexikon is almost alike to the imagio
and if it doesnt work you can flash back.
So its a win win
i dont use whitestone.
It booted (i guess) !!

Hi, i am currently developing Android for the Imagio, i just startted the process and some tests, yesterday i was able to boot using a Topaz old testing kernel, but the screen was blank. I plan to compile a custom kernel for the Imagio.
I posted the Lexikon image but it wont work for the imagio because of the processor are different (Imagio= MSM7600) but i guess i could use some drivers from the Lexikon...
Wish me luck, i'm reading a lot to understand the kernel and Android
You can download the image i used here:
http://www.4shared.com/file/h9LTDTdp/droid_booted_imagiotar.html
And maybe, if you find the correct cmd_line arguments for HaRET you can get the screen to work properly
Glad someone is working on this. I'm right there with you! Make a thread on the imagio forum or pm me if you need testing.

Is SuperOneClick gone for good?

I am quite a noob when it comes to these things, sorry. I tried searching the forums for something like this. Is SuperOneClick discontinued? The last update from the website shows May 2013, and the download links don't work. Am I missing something here?

Root Nexus 6 (Very Simple, Requires Windows PC)

The Nexus 6 and Lollipop in general isn't exactly easy to root. Thanks to the new tool I've made, you can root it, install busybox, and for the more advanced users, install TWRP on your Nexus 6. Just download the file below, decompress it, and open root-n6.bat to start the rooting process!

That will be great. And if possible and you do have time, maybe you can consider to provide support for other more devices from SAMSUNG, SONY, HTC and others because I believe the demand for rooting Android L ROM will become more and more strong, and if you can setup a guid for those people, I believe this thread will become very popular. Just a suggestion. Thanks.
I'll try that. Thanks for the suggestions!

Online-app testing environment for 'rooted' apps?

This forum follows restrict rules to prevent spam. Its also hard to find out where to start.
Anyway I'll post the questions here:
- Does anyone provide Online-app testing environment for 'rooted' apps? I checked AWS or
other mobile testing platform, looks like they don't supported apps with root permission. any thoughts?
