this is 4.0 close test ROM for Defy
flash it via recovery and at your own risk ...
remember , this was supposed to be a close test version ! however i decided to posted here because i know there are lots lots good people have sharp eyes like eagle's and excellent observations ...
don't be surprised if this has bug or that doesn't work ...blah blah blah...
Known problems/bugs:
1. Video recording doesn't work
2. Softkey don't light up
3. APN setting will be force closed
4. Status bar in lockscreen will be pull up automatically.
5. Can not manually select operator
6. Camara can not set picture size nor focus.
7. plug in USB will connect GRPS ...

I am not its developer , but however i am moderator in its official forum and may act as representative here around XDA for DianXin ROM.
so i can't answer all doubts or something , but however i will relay your problem , your doubts , your suggestions , your ideas or anything you wanna say about this ROM to its developer.
since now , 2.3's update has been stopped and will be focus on ICS version ...

i know you guys may think it looks like MIUI , but i assure you it's totally different ROM nor MIUI-based modification , and if you have time , please read first pages of all these kind people's reports and feelings about this ROM.
what i think is , every and any ROM is like child to all of us in Android community , and please don't think it is bad or ugly or whatever negative expression you can think of , because nothing is perfect , as MIUI , it is now 71 weeks old , and this one is only 3 weeks old, and for now , MIUI 4.0 does have problems and bugs as well as this one, it has some problems or bugs, but that's how all ROM start, right ?
we are just like bunch of daddies (mommies) here , to help developer to raise (improve) thier child (ROM) , they need you help and report!

kernel gb or froyo?

by see build.prop in ROM zip , it says 2.3.7
but i am not sure, i don't have this device ...

I've installed this ROM. Fast rom but for me not working data, screen rotation, screen brightness. But everything else is good. Menu fast and smooth, good battery drain. It will be good to see this ROM then the bugs will be fixed

You guys should stop making this kind of ROM. I already left MIUI for MoKeeOS, in now this one is tempting me again. Fortunately my USBs aren't working, so I can't do it in the urge right now, but I'll download it for testing, later.

this looks really nice and i'd like to try it but after flashing i just get a boot loop, i'm not really sure if i installed it incorrectly or what..... is there a specific SBF i should be using for this?

i tried it and i'm still in the same loop, i think the problem is that i cant wipe the dalvick cache. i choose to but when i click the power button the selection bar goes to the top of the screen without doing anything. or it could be that i previously had CM7 installed idk

it generally happens when gapps are not flashed or there happens to be some error while flashing it.

i had that issue.. just go into the keyboard settings and set Touch Input as the default (thats the HTC Sense keyboard).. it works fine. then of course you can grab another keyboard of choice (I use SwiftKey personally).
other than that, everything works great. Using Apex Launcher right now with Bricked Kernel 1.1.

Is this Sense or AOKP based?

Go into your Language and Keyboard settings, and select Touch Input as your default setting. This should fix the issue.

You're incorrect, dog.
It's Sense-based still. The MIUI.US version is based off of the miui.cn official build, which is still essentially a Sense 3.6 ROM, stripped of just about all Sense features aside from Sense Cam and Touch input.

You sure about that? I always thought that MIUI was AOSP, just like CyanogenMod, just themed. I'm almost 99% positive that MIUI is built from AOSP.

It normally is, but the Sensation build is different. (Same for another that I can't think of atm.) Have you even run this rom or opened it up? Like, look at the camera. Normally MIUI has their own camera, but the Sensation build has the Sense cam. And the Sense keyboard as well. When you mess with the touch input, a lot more sense features start showing up.

Yea, I just flashed it 10 minutes ago. It works great, and the keyboard fix works. I haven't played with it to much yet, just thought I would share the link for those that did not know that it exists for the Sensation.

Just for verification for everyone, this version IS Sense based. Thanks GoCkillaz for the information. I spent the last 15 minutes translating the Chinese site with Google Translate to verify...LOL!

Anyone tried different kernals with this yet?

Any sense kernel will work. You can use bricked to get sweep2wake. But for me, and miuiandroid version had really poor battery life. There is a problem with the rom not letting the system enter full sleep mode.
Please report back with battery on the .us version.

I suggest using faux's most recent kernel. If you want S2W, use Bricked.
Also, there's a bug with the SMS on that ROM as well. If you send a message and immediately turn the screen off, the message will send, but a notification will pop up and say that it didn't send.
Guys, don't expect any Sensation specific bugs to be addressed from the official ROM unless they are explicitly harmful to the system itself (like keyloggers, bootloops, etc). If you want individual issues addressed, try and contact a dev on XDA, rootzwiki or MoDaCo and have them fix it for you. The MIUI team still hasn't implemented the MIUI camera on this rom, and at the rate they're trying to churn out MIUI ports as to complete, bug-free, fully featured MIUI ROMs, I doubt that they ever will.
If you want a MIUI-like experience on a better rom (such as AOKP), download MIUILauncher from the Market (the official MIUI one), MILocker, and GOSMS. Sorta the same.
Have a nice day, y'all. And thanks to OP for alerting XDA members to the existence of V4 MIUI, since MIUI.US seems to have dropped off the face of the planet.

MIUIandroid has a specific forum page for Bugs, and many of the bugs get listed as "in progress" which tells me they are fixing sensation and device specific bugs.
I believe the decision to use HTC camera came from the base being from Sense.....having said that I find it WAY faster than any sense rom I've tried. I can even get better fluid speed underclocked on it (that was my effort to try to rectify the battery issue).
At any rate, they do have full sensation support which tells me their will be a complete, bug free, fully featured version available as they implement their weekly updates.

i brought Nexus S's ROM to here XDA in the first place. but in time , there were other DianXin for other devices, so i am bringing them to XDA as well, so i just directly copy what i have written in other threads although some of these screenshots were taken from Nexus S , but basically it is the same thing and so are features.

download and upload take about 6 hours , so i can not finish it until saturday evening. but you can use "system update" app to update

i know you guys may think it looks like MIUI , but i assure you it's totally different ROM nor MIUI-based modification , and if you have time , please read first pages of all these kind people's reports and feelings about this ROM.
what i think is , every and any ROM is like child to all of us in Android community , and please don't think it is bad or ugly or whatever negative expression you can think of , because nothing is perfect , as MIUI , it is now 71 weeks old , and this one is only 3 weeks old, and for now , MIUI 4.0 does have problems and bugs as well as this one, it has some problems or bugs, but that's how all ROM start, right ?
we are just like bunch of daddies (mommies) here , to help developer to raise (improve) thier child (ROM) , they need you help and report!

Hi qtwrk in DX-Dialer section a wired bug is that MMI code and SSD code are not working any more, please fix in next version.
Issue: MMI or SSD codes like *123# or *123*1# are not working.

MIUI V5 for HTC one S (ville)​
I will upload the roms released by the MIUI forum to another mirror because the Chinese one is very slow...
Install the OTA for the newest version or the whole ROM (i recommended).
Second post "Downloads, changelog and buglist".
How to install?
1. Place the zip on your internal sdcard.
2. Wipe dalvik, cache, Data and System. (the way i do!)
3. Install the zip.
4. If asked, fix permissions.
5. Flash boot.img (if S-ON).
This rom is Sense based!
I do not develop this rom, when i see on the forum there is a new release, i will post the newest release!

If you want to use a custom kernel, flash a sense compatible kernel!

When you're playing some music, and i receive a message (example WhatsApp) the sound sounds broken.

UI feels kinda laggy. Flash a custom kernel...

Nice, the bugs I found so far are that when you apply a new theme you must restart the phone or the screen wont stop flickering...also there's no keyboard in this release.

This is so awesome. I didn't think that we would get a sense-based jellybean miui. It's super fast. I'm running bulletproof kernel and it boots in literally 10 seconds and sweep2wake is the most responsive i've ever seen in a sense based ROM.
Finally something completely different to play with. Thank you so much for posting this. I only seen a couple of the bugs that were posted, I switched to a different theme right away though. Once you make it to English in the settings and install Swype or whatever keyboard you prefer, it's a very impressive ROM.
This was definitely a huge surprise...I didn't see this one coming.

I agree with you. When someone could fix the bugs, im going to use MIUI.

What's wrong with the theme? I think that the interface of 3.2.22 was better, even if it wasn't optimized well for qHD .
FC/bugs:
- Stock Settings FC - Logcat: http://justpaste.it/29ho -> thx Matzounet (no icon in settings) Now, no FC
- i was not able to use the preinstalled keyboard (confirmed) Now, AOSP Keyboard
+ Launcher is not smooth, small scrolling lags (could be a 4.1.1 stock rom problem)
+ Internal Memory in About Phone not showing correctly 16 Gb. In File Explorer everything is fine
+ change the cell layout type from 4x4 to 4x5 ends up in a Launcher boot loop (restarting phone fixed it)
+ Trying to select a trusted virus database ends up in a force close No FC, just nothing happens
+ applying a theme causes a launcher bootloop (restarting the phone fixed it) But themes are apllied
- hot seat is always visable (see pictures)
- GPS not working (telelocation.apk problem) GPS/GLONASS work fine
- Home Button sometimes without response - thx Matzounet -> http://en.miui.com/forum.php?mod ... ptid=2680&pid=57521 I haven't noticed that yet.

I don't know whats wrong with the UI.
As i already said. I'm not a dev, so i hope there are some devs who will fix these problems.

I know that and I just wondering. I thing that the reason is that the developers haven't got enough time to resize images for qHD and I hope we'll see the new UI soon.

This looks like a possible serious contender. Definitely needs some bug fixes. But hopefully they will get resolved quick. Thanks for the link.

I don't know why 7_Ab doesn't have all the FCs but i think he disabled this in the Developer Options. All errors from the OP ( stolen from my thread on miui.com haha) are still there.

im working on fixing some of the bugs as we speak. ill report back in the next few days.

Sorry, now I found the reason of misunderstanding. I've installed different version of MIUI which I've found in the internet and I thought that it was the one that in the OP. That version is called MIUI 3.3.29 For HTC One S 美化移植版.zip (396 Mb). And, by the way I'm not S-Off and that means that the version I've installed was sense-based JB.

This looks absolutely beautiful on our phone. For some reason though i don't have root permission. Might just be me. Also, is there a way to use a different launched like Apex after installing it? It doesn't allow to clear defaults for the default launcher, should i just delete it?
