768MB Ram not enough. Wait for other HTC models coming with 1GB DDR2 and other improved Specs

That is one sexy ************! maaaaan

Definitely considering the Sensation. I'm patiently waiting for the HTC event tonight! I was thinking about the SGS2 but the draw of the qHD screen is too much for me. The only worry I have is the locked down bootloader, especially seeing as the DHD has such an active development forum now.
Regards.

If that has Dolby Mobile then I will sell my DHD and buy it, but I don't like the screen's aspect ratio.. DHD the BEST..

New info is being posted on engadget now
http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/12/live-from-htcs-april-12th-event/
Also anyone know how to embed videos on here ?
i added the links to the official videos in the 1st post

It will be hard to choose between Sensation and SGS2 ...

It would've been the Sensation for me, but being stuck with my Nokia E65, I'm not willing to wait any longer! SGS2 it is!
EDIT: I was unaware that I was posting in the DHD section.

That is one sexy looking phone. However I just got my first full week with the DHD and could not be happier. I made the jump from an LG V360(?)(LG Rumor), and honestly, the DHD has exceeded my expectations. It will be interesting to see the updates on Sense and whether or not the DHD will get them as well.
By the way, hello everyone, I am new to this forum but I like what I am seeing so far. Great community indeed!

If you check this video it says the Sensation has Hi-Fi audio. I hope that means HTC is using better loudspeakers from now on cause the Desire HD's just plain sucks.

Hmm looks like the Sensation also has bluetooth 3.0 with support for HID. So now we can use bluetooth controllers with Sense
http://www.htc.com/www/product/sensation/specification.html

Man, this looks SO damn sexy! Having said that, we are very lucky to have such a damn good single core phone, and a VERY excellent and active development section.
The locked down bootloader could be very bad
Hopefully we can get the new Sense 3.0 for our HDs!

Do you think we will get Sense 3.0 with our 2.3 update for the DHD?

No i don't think so. The leaked versions in the development section have Sense 2.1. Also i doubt HTC will give us DHD users the new Sense before the Sensation is even out (it's coming out next month or so).

Let's hope so, I'm sure the DHD snapdragon could handle the 3.0 animations etc.

I hope they release it in an update this year then.
Having Official Sense 3.0 on my DHD would be so good.

I have a HTC desire hd and really thinking of switching to sensation when it comes out

1520mah battery on a dual core phone?
Why do HTC keep putting measly batteries in overpowered phones?

I think that HTC will be like the other "S's" (Desire S, Incredible S, etc) models of that manufacturer, meaning they will be lamy poor in codec support other than MP4

Awesome video...
Seriously it could give SGS II a run for its money. Perhaps thats why they pulled back and uped the speeds to 1.2Ghz.

Dissapointed with HTC again... they could really do better... I don't like the design at all, curvy.. yuck
And also I don't think that the new Qualcomm processor will be better than Tegra or Exynos.
Still 1GB Storage... wtf? It isn't 2007 anymore.
And it has a weak battery again... oh I should shut up now.
I've already preordered the SGS2 and won't cancel my preorder.. the only thing that I will miss is the Sense experience and the HTC logo.
EDIT:
Here is the comparison in GSMArena:
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=3875&idPhone2=3621
It would've been the Sensation for me, but being stuck with my Nokia E65, I'm not willing to wait any longer! SGS2 it is!
WTF ???! Dissappointed
Now I think that the choice is pretty simple
Yes, after seeing its Qualcomm, certainly sticking with the SGS II.
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=3875&idPhone2=3621
there's no competition, the SGS 2 is Thinner, lighter, and blasts the HTC; sensationless.

I think you are underestimating Snapdragon by a very long way.
The 45nm Snapdragon with the Adreno 205 GPU{found in myTouch 4G which in no way is slow} changed things as it roughly doubled GPU performance. The Adreno 220 brings about another doubling in GPU performance.:
So counting it out will be a bad deal, the only real working/in production lineup is Optimus 2X {Nvidia Tegra 2}.Wait for SGS 2 with Exynos & this one with Latest dual core Snapdragon & then we can see.
I would not underestimate the performance of qualcomm. look up anandtech for the benchmark especially of the new adreno 220. qualcomm has done a darn good job in graphics part considering how shIIty there previous gen adrenos. were. i know the review is of a reference hardware and is clocked at 1.5 ghz.

One of my friend has recently got LG Optimus 2X,i played with it for almost 2 days. Was even then hearing a lot of crap about Tegra 2 performance & that time also people were comparing it with Exynos & believe me except for Web Browsing,Optimus 2X rarely slows down, there were just no lags, almost every game plays very well in it.Camera performance, hdmi mirroring all were pretty fast.
Likewise i expect HTC Sensation to also perform similarly.Apart from difference in screen technologies there is apparently not much to choose from both of these great devices.
Battery performance & lower Ram{but still>700MB is hell lot} might be a concern for some one.

DISPLAY:- 4.3 inches S-LCD, 540x960, Gorilla Glass Display.
WEIGHT:- 148 grams
OS:- Android 2.3 Gingerbread
MEMORY:- 1GB internal, 768 MB RAM
CPU:- 1.2 Ghz Dual Core Snapdragon, Adreno 220 GPU.
CAMERA:- 8MP Auto Focus, Dual LED Flash, Secondary :- VGA
FEATURES:- TV Out (A/V cable), SNS ( Social Network Service) Integration, HTC Sense UI.
BATTERY :- 350 hrs (2G), 400 hrs (3G) (Stand By), 8h 20min (2G) 6h 40min (3G) (Talktime).
HTC DROID 2 INCREDIBLE
DISPLAY:- 4.0 inches S-LCD, 480x800 with Gorilla Glass.
WEIGHT:- 135 grams
OS:- Android 2.2 FROYO
MEMORY:- 1.1 GB internal, 768MB RAM
CPU:- 1Ghz Scorpion, Adreno 202 GPU
CAMERA:- 8 MP Auto Focus, Dual LED Flash, Secondary :- 1.3 MP
FEATURES:- HTC Sense UI, SNS ( Social Network Service ) Integration.
BATTERY :- 361 hrs (Stand By), 6h 30min (Talktime).
COMPARISON :-
1. DISPLAY :- Both HTC Sensation and Droid 2 Incredible have the same S-LCD Gorilla Glass display panel.
But the HTC Sensation causes some sensation with its huge 4.3 inch display in comparison to 4.0 inch Droid 2.
2. WEIGHT :- HTC Sensation is heavier cause of its larger screen in comparison to Droid 2.
3. OS :- HTC Sensation has the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread, where as Droid 2 has Android 2.2 Froyo.
4. CPU :- HTC Sensation is powered by a Dragon, the 1.2 Ghz Dual Core Snapdragon processor really packs loads of power.
Droid 2 Incredible also has almost equal clock speed at 1Ghz but it lacks the Dual Core Power.
5. CAMERA :- Both have the same 8 MP rear camera, but the Droid 2 has 1.3 MP Front camera which is much better than the VGA in HTC Sensation.
6. FEATURES :- Both have same basic HTC features like SENSE UI and the SNS integration.
The only feature that Sensation beats Droid 2 is, its AV Output capability.
7. BATTERY:- HTC Sensation and Droid 2 Incredible have a close fight when it comes to Battery Life.
8. COST :- The Droid 2 Incredible is comparatively much cheaper about 599$ at Verizon Wireless, where as one can get a Fully Unlocked HTC Sensation for about 880$.
Conclusion :-
HTC Sensation is the complete winner in this evaluation, but is a bit to High Priced.
If cost is not an issue for you then Go For the SENSATION (HTC Sensation).
Hic, it's very nice
hmm, i think new htc devices are getting better in designDD
The HTC Sensation should be awesome! But, we need some confirmation that the bootloader is indeed unlocked...
I'll go for the one that has the latest tech and great design vs the one that was inspired by Quasimodo. Price shouldn't even be a deciding factor. It's like looking at a ferrari and giving it negative points for being out of the price range of a Honda Civic.
actually the droid incredible 2 is $439 retail at vzw. pretty decent in my opinion.

With a 2yr contract signing and new phone rebate, my sister got a Dinc2 for $80
Would have loved to take advantage of the subsidy, but i'm only several months into my contract. I replaced my droid 2.
I wonder why those two have such low internal hdd...
hhmmmmm
I like the Droid 2
I definitely prefer the looks of the HTC black slab style more than the other. For that reason, my vote goes to the Dinc2!
Not a fan of Sensation's back design and much prefer Incredible's. But in the end what matters most (to me at least) is the CPU.
I think HTC Sensation is hands down leader in all aspects. With it's unlocked bootloader it will have an option to strip the Sense away...

Found my next phone...

The Galaxy Note! 5.3" WXGA Super AMOLED display, 1.4GHz dual core CPU, 2500mAh battery, built in stylus.. What isn't there to love about this thing? Can't get over the insane resolution. That's 285PPI! On a 5.3" screen!!
Looks incredible.

[Buying Guide] Android Phones under rs15000 [100$-250$]

The 15K budget has been a sweet deal for those not wanting to spend extra on their latest android phones. If you’ll actually see, it makes a lot more sense than over splurging on a phone, because every new phone becomes ‘old’, after a 6-8 month cycle. So, here’s what we think are the top smartphones you could buy between Rs.10,000 and Rs.15,000.
SE Live with Walkman
It’s small, but it’s fast and powerful. It’s got a 1GHz processor and is future proofed as well. The Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman is the only one in this category that is definitely going to get Ice Cream Sandwich. Sony’s hit a really sweet deal for consumers with the Live with Walkman, at this price point.

Here are the specs of the SE Live with Walkman:
3.2-inch scratch resistant capacitive touchscreen with a 320 x 480 pixel resolution
3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi, DLNA
GPS with A-GPS support
Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, USB 2.0
5 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, 720p video recording
Secondary VGA camera
Stereo FM radio with RDS
Memory expandable up to 32GB via microSD card
3.5 mm handsfree socket
HTC ChaCha
The Facebook phone, HTC ChaCha is one of the few Android phones that has a very good keyboard. Plus, most will agree with us that Sense UI brings an entirely different experience to users. It may have a small landscape screen, but as we saw in our review, we had absolutely no problems browsing or manoeuvring through the fluid interface. As an added bonus, it’s got some brilliant Facebook integration.
Here are the specs of the HTC ChaCha:
2.6-inch capacitive touchscreen with Corning Gorilla Glass and a 480 x 320 pixel resolution
3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi
GPS with A-GPS support
Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, USB 2.0
5 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash, 480p video recording
Secondary VGA camera
Stereo FM radio with RDS
Memory expandable up to 32GB via microSD card
3.5 mm handsfree socket
HTC Explorer
Another relatively tiny smartphone, but another impressive one. The HTC Explorer is a budget Android, but it’s fluid like cream. In our review, this one did even better than the LG Optimus Net, which had a bigger screen and a faster processor (as opposed to the 600MHz one on the Explorer). Sense 4.0 has been included to elevate your Android experience as well. The Explorer is just a little above Rs.10,000 and makes for a great budget Android.
Here are the specs for the HTC Explorer:
3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen with a 320 x 480 pixel resolution
3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi
GPS with A-GPS support
Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP, USB 2.0
3.15 megapixel camera, 480p video recording
Stereo FM radio with RDS
Memory expandable up to 32GB via microSD card
3.5 mm handsfree socket

Not bad for that cost!
I recommend the HTC Explorer
I recommend Galaxy S2, S3 which after 10 years, price will drop to around 5000 to15000 Rs.

Final words
The HTC One S is one of the most impressive mobile phones we've handled recently - both in terms of hardware and software.
The slim metal unibody (with either ceramic or anodized finish) is brilliant, HTC have outdone themselves here - and that's easily said than done. The 4.3" qHD Super AMOLED screen is a welcome change from the LCD-only lineup HTC had for a while. They've done much to improve the photo quality and add advanced features to the camera too.
The Snapdragon S4 chipset with two powerful Krait cores and Adreno 225 graphics bested all current smartphones and will readily stand up to upcoming phones too - yes, even its quad-core sibling, the One X (and probably the rest of the quad-core phones that use Tegra 3).
Okay, some things about the HTC One S aren't quite perfect - we would have preferred a Super AMOLED Plus screen, non-expandable memory would be a deal breaker for some (though 90% of people should be fine with 16GB of storage) and the problem with framing videos seems like an annoying oversight.
It's a shame the One S doesn't come with a Beats headset either, but the sound enhancement alone will keep most people happy.
One of the few phones that can pull attention away from the One S is its bigger brother - the One X. Some would prefer the 4.7" 720p Super IPS LCD screen (with a full set of subpixels) and the extra storage room. The polycarbonate unibody is impressive in its own right

Considering they cost $99 it would only add to the price of the phone.. It's worth it though. I just listened to some tunes with my Beats Solo HD's and it's absolutely amazing, and I've listened to the same songs with Samsung Galaxy S2 and iPhone 4S and the sound quality is night and day.
Also Yea, i've heard you don't need Beats headphones to appreciate the sound quality improvement.
Have you noticed that the # of shutter clicks when you're holding down the shutter button isn't equivalent to # of photos actually taken?
Anyone know why that is or an explanation?
