[Q] Original Recovery for P509 - Optimus One, P500, V Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does anyone have a backup of the original T/P509 recovery? I find myself needing to send this in for repair, but I'd like to send it in an unmodified form.

I too could use this, my hard drive wiped on a bad unistall incident :\ all of my P509 files and backups/rom etc. -- gone.

Use this to download original firmware for your device, then use LGMDP to flash it. If that doesn't work, use KDZ flasher.

[Q] Unable to get into Recovery

Hi,
I am new to this forum.
My captivate is on stock firmware UCKH3 (2.3.4)
I think I've done something wrong while flashing a custom kernel.
The kernel was flashed, the phone is booting but I am unable to get into the CWM recovery. Tried button-combo and also from ROM manager but no luck. Hence I am unable to flash any roms in the forum except odin tar's!!
I would like to try ICS roms but I couldn't find odin packages.
Please help me with this issue or post a link which may help my case.
Thank You,
Pradeep Kiran
Which kernel did you flash, and what combination are you attempting?
were you able to get into recovery before .?.
I had to use ADB to get me into recovery on my i897. If you dont know what ADB is, look it up as i did.
Careful with Odin, it will brick ur phone, but no worry many ways to get unbricked. I had to make a jig. you can order one, same price either way, just if you make one check the ohms, needs to be 301k resistance.

Well, I got I897UCKB2 firmware when I've purchased the phone,
I tried the one click executable I897UCKH3 from the stock Rom's thread and my phone got bricked!! I made a jig to put it into download mode and flashed the same package. It is working now but I've screwed up my recovery!! I am unable to get into recovery by using adb, button combo or rom manager.

Whoops, at least you got it going again :good: maybe you can take a shot at a different one click .jar
The one click jar that I used in download mode was SamsungCaptivate-SGHi897-UCKB2-Rooted-One-Click.jar *which you need to be rooted so use Root Checker App to make sure you are rooted if not Super One Click v 2.3.3 Short Fuse :good:<---{there needs to be a huge thanks button here}
If that does it from there reinstall Rom Manager and enjoy cwm Recovery, and I flashed Devil 1.6.1.zip from cwmR :cyclops:
* A few more poost and i can post links, sorry

Boot to bootloader/fastboot and reflash a known-to-work kernel. On what rom were you on? From which nigttly was the boot.img? It seems like an incompatible or wrong kernel.
You can also flash stock FXZ image or restore nandroid if you made a backup. You should still be able to boot into bootloader and use rsdlite.

See mrvek's answer... but honestly why are you following a guide that is not for your device? That is just asking for trouble...
Next time, if the guide is not for your device I would not recommend following it.
Good luck with RSD.

[Q] Installing tar.gz Rom to Chinese Tablet

Hello,
First of all I'm glad that finally joined this forum. Been browsing it for a while and checking for roms for my phone. Anyway there's one problem that i can't solve it. Tried searching information about it online but haven't found anything.
Recently i bought a chinese tablet, and seller gave me also newest rom for it so I can install it (didn't had any problems installing roms before). The thing is the format of a file is "tar.gz". The seller tells me there's a "tool" which he would send me (waiting for a month already) to install this rom. Is there any real tool or a guide how to install tar.gz rom?
I will put screen of what contains inside
Hope anyone can help me with it.
Kind regards
Normally you would use Odin to install a tar.gz, but Odin is a tool for Samsung. Probably this thing has some proprietary flashing tool.
You might be able to extract the file and manually flash the IMG files using fastboot, but you better be 100% sure this ROM is legit for your device or you risk brick when flashing certain elements.
you need to use sp flash tool. make a backup of your rom first! i know those chinese chipsets, for further informations just pm me.

Yeah those Chinese chipsets can get pretty confusing sometimes.
Good thing someone knows about them..
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
nah, they are not that complicated. basically, they are partitioned in basic parts: preloader, uboot, dsp_bl and other specific stuff. for a firmware update, you basically need to lash android partition and boot.img partition. this can be done via flashtool, fastboot, metamode, recovery o you can dd from sdcard, of you are already rooted. also, these devices are unbrickable i you do not touch preloader . if you do, mostly they can set into download mode shortening 2 pins on motherboard. flashing my galaxy s is harsee in my oppineon.

Yeah flashing the img files via fastboot isn't hard, it's knowing which tool they expect you to use for which device / chipset.
Either way, hope he got his situation sorted.
Thank you for your answers hope to solve this problem. I tried to rename tar.gz to zip and install it that way. And somehow i managed to install it (somehow) with some errors, but still there's missing something haha
Ok so i finally managed to install rom. That Chinese guy gave me Sp flash tool. Choosed scatter pressed download and vuala. Works great! If anyone need guide or that tool just pm me
dear i m looking for flash tool for chinese tablet please send me or put for download

[Q] Removing TWRP

Alright guys I have a question. I am having issues returning to stock using the lg flash tool. Errors out everytime no matter what computer/what cable I used. I have the TOT file and I have extracted it and there is a recovery.bin. I was wondering if there was anyway to use this .bin file to restore the stock recovery? I can't find any info on this from my google searches.

I decided to do some more digging around and I found http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G3/D850/stock_partitions/10D by Team codefire. I downloaded the recovery.img for the D850. Flashed it using flashify. Once doing this, my phone reboot factory reset and now it is 100% stock. This was so much easier then actually setting up the lg flashtool

You used the 10d recovery image. Were you able to get OTAs after that? Also, with 10d, the name of the file is simply recovery.img. What is the name of the 20f recovery image and where is it?

The recovery name should be still recovery.img even for the 20f update. To answer your question about OTAs, yes I was able to take them.
You can find the files for 20F here. http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G3/D850/stock_partitions/20F
The recovery might be in the Stock zip file, though I am not 100% sure.
Not There

Unfortunately, in the stock zip file there is only a system.img and a boot.img.

So as LG-P880 flashing instructions were too much hassle for my taste
Here it is a very simple way to upgrade/downgrade your phones easy peasy
Everything will be gone so backup first!
Download this:
Mirror 1:
http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=01589528474127578975
Mirror 2:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/wu50af8uh99air7/P880-Flashtools.rar
Unrar and copy your downloaded new firmware inside LG Flash Tool 2014 folder
Browse to Driver folder and install/double click LGUnitedMobileDriver_S50MAN311AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.11.3.exe file.
Shutdown and remove SIM&EXTSDCARD from the back of the phone. Leave battery in-place don't take it out.
Press and hold Vol(-) connect usb cable coming from pc->download mode
Run LGFlashTool2014.exe
Selections
CDMA or 3GQCT doesn't matter really
DIAG
KDZ file location
then select preferred flash mode
Normal Flash: Flash ROM without losing any data. Only use this when you need to fix system error. Beware of boot loop when flashing ROM that differ from current ROM on your phone or MOD ROM.
CSE Flash: Choose this option when you need a fresh format. All data will be gone. It's suitable for upgrading or downgrading ROM or simply use this when you need to back to Stock.
Done, enjoy!
Update:
If you get in recovery repeat flashing the KDZ and you will get the stock recovery this time.
