A verizon manager told me today would be the day gave me his card told me to call him today before I come in and he will hold one for me because he doesn't know how many he is going to get, he told to this Wednesday I dunno how much truth there is to this, its just the first time I actually heard something from Verizon on a release date

Believe it or not he did call me and he told me that they had them in the store but wasn't allowed to sell them until Monday or Tuesday that which ever date he would hold on for me

Does anyone know of a firm release date for the Sprint Nexus-S 4G ? Everything I read online is all over the board. I called Sprint stores near me, and they know nothing, one girl said it should be out this Summer, July/August she said Best Buy Mobile said maybe April 20th, this week. And some online sites say May 8th.
I wasz tlod yesterday when I reserved mine that it will be in the next 45 days. I know that is not a firm date but its better then nothing.

k thanks, so it's not due out until June then. For some reason I thought it was coming late April / early May.
I talked to a few best buy reps..Sunday I heard the 19th. Yesterday (I don't know if she slipped on telling me) I was told system shows in stock for tomorrow...so..another rep said no date yet....but...hopefully today...or I might just jump evo. I'm tired of Samsung never sticking to their word...pretty rediculous

I have loose reports that Best Buy is getting a "full tablet assortment" in May. (By loose reports I mean hearsay from a Best Buy Mobile manager.) My best guess would be next week or the one after.

I actually got my Transformer yesterday from a physical store in CA -- Frys Electronics.
I got mine from a B&M Frys store yesterday too, but I don't think it's gonna help since as far as I know the stores that had them only have *ONE* each.
I was there at 8:20 and when I was at the counter getting the papers printed, someone else was asking for it.

Surprisingly I picked up mine today at the Tempe, AZ Fry's store. Just saw it online around noon and ordered it for an in-store pickup.
Then I was nervous for the next few hours I had to stay at work hoping it wasn't a mistake or they wouldn't accidentally give it to someone else. But I got to Fry's and held my breath at the counter and it felt like it took her forever to retrieve it, but she finally came back with it in hand.
I thought for sure I was screwed and might be waiting weeks for this thing to come in stock since I'm not the type of person to spam F5 on NewEgg at 3 oclock in the morning or get in a line at a retail store (like the Apple folks do). Think I just got really lucky this time I guess. It was the last one at the store.

I was excited.
I've been to bb today and the guy who couldn't tell me specific details buy he did say they are changing the desktop space for tablets and in may they will definitely have all tablets... I think it's true they are pushing the playbook hard so they probably have to give it a exclusive launch schedule till may... gonna be a hot summer!

I've been trying to get a date out of my two local Best Buy shops and the best I have been able to get is a single sales girl who said they got an email yesterday morning that said BBY would not receive them until mid May. That's these two stores at least.
I'm still going to bug the crap out of them though until I get one because without a date in their system it can still arrive tomorrow.
Well after several great months with the 4G, I have to move on. Thanks to all of you that helped. And I hope that I was able to help a few people along the way also. I am now the proud owner of a HTC Sensation, hope to see some of you in those forums!
How'd you get one? I'm going to order one over the phone using my upgrade but going to go through retentions to get it cheaper.
I want one but unfortunately I don't have the funds.

Wal-Mart has been screwing up and selling them early, funny thing is I told them No upgrade, no contract, full retail... I still got it for $148.88... Pure luck, so far this phone is a lot of fun, will be even better once the bootloader is unlocked and a stable CM7 is made for it!

I believe it was an honest screw-up. At first the guy didn't want to sell it to me, but I convinced him.

I have read random reports of this happening at various Wal-Mart's around the country. I guess it depends on whether or not the rep is paying attention, or knows what they are doing.
I got an upgrade through retentions, unfortunately it had to be done through them so no $150 Walmart deal here. However it finally showed up in Tmo's systems today so I called a little while ago and ordered it through them. $250 with $50 MIR. This week is gonna drag ass while I wait for UPS...

Only real issues
The only issues I have found are incompatibility with some widgets, (Battery Life, Mobile Signal Widget) and programs like Mr. Number Caller ID... Otherwise, this is a great phone...

The force is strong with this one.
I got mine at Wal-Mart last Wednesday. They are selling it for $600 off-contract, but I printed out an article online that showed T-Mobile will be selling it for $549.99, and they matched it!
Seeing as how I just ordered 3 new batteries for 3.95 and an otterbox for 22.00 i think I'll probably be here for awhile

I'm going to be here a while as well. I'm not going to buy into a new contract until i see how the ATT/T-Mobile Merger goes. If they start jacking my contract around. I'm leaving.
I ordered one as well, but ****ing dickheads shipped it out via ground! I asked for express shipping or the fastest they have.
On the email TMO sent me, it said shipping method was overnight, today I check the UPS tracking number, it says its been shipped out via ground.

Ground shipping is usually pretty damn quick. A shipping label was created Monday night and it shipped this morning and UPS says it will be here day after tomorrow. I know its the day after release but I am still pretty pleased.

Hate to make you feel sad but i work for T-Mobile and there is no info out yet for reps to know what the date is for GB on the G2X. Only thing that is coming out on the 15th right now is the Sensation and the Samsung Dart. There is no info on the T-Mobile's network for reps saying that the 15th is the set date for GB. No one even knows if GB is going to be a OTA or a downloaded update. only time will tell

this blows, the 15th is my travel date to Hawaii, in the air for like 9-10 hours... I hope i can snag it on my layover in LAX if it does drop or i really hope it leaks on the 14th and i can redo my phone before i leave lol

The sad part is that I know more about what this phone is capable of then the LG reps...
I sent the LG reps emails feeling them to keep the bootloaders unlocked for you guys..

Its not that he is lying he wasn't given wrong info in which he through was true not his fault. Also if you go into your local tmobile store they can show you the notes you want to see. Also keep an eye on www.tmonews.com this site is always on the ball about tmobile stuff leaked out.

Interestingly, when I spoke to an executive at T-Mo on Friday about this he said that they had pushed back the date indefinitely and that he would send me a pre-paid return label to send him the two G2x's that I have for a full refund.
I doubt he would want to buy the phones back from me if an update was right around the corner.

Has anyone gotten the new MR2 OTA that was supposed to come out today? I have been running it since it leaked but I haven't seen anyone talk about getting it OTA yet today.
My TB worked great the first 5 days I had it, I was loving the 4G speeds. All the sudden I stopped getting 4G completely in my house and cycling/losing data constantly otherwise. I have tried everything and MR2 didn't fix the problems. The rep was pretty knowledgeable that I spoke to, but told me to wait until I get the new update before they would replace my phone. Obviously I can't tell him I'm running it already, so I just need to know when it "officially" is out.

Any time you see someone posting a supposed update from an exclusive source, add one to three months to that for the true date.

That was a good one...I got a good laugh from that one. I especially love it when people over on Verizon's T-bolt forum say, they are releasing gingerbread today. I know because I spoke with a tech on the phone and they told me it was.
Well I have a new TB coming tomorrow. My issue was that I didn't want a CLNR piece of **** device that Verizon loves to give out, so I had to get my replacement within 14 days of my original purchase. The tech today told me that the ETA on the update is before the end of June and no later. I guess that's good news.

That is unfortunately true. I saw Jcase posted on Twitter the other day that the update was going to be delayed or maybe even cancelled for a new build.
