Very sorry mate, but unfortunately i do not have much technical knowledge on batteries. I suspect your device may be faulty. Perhaps try hard resetting the phone. I cannot gurantee it will work, but your battery driver may have broken... I'm not to techincal with drivers.. Sorry. Perhaps some else may help you out.

i'm agree with you!

Sir ,this is the connection diagram I am thinking to try on my phone.connecting "+" and "-" and leaving 2 terminals open,
Is it cause any damage to my phone.I will charge the battery in another phone. please sir any one give reply.

[Q] how to run a phone without battery only by connecting charger

I think the question may be silly but I want to know the procedure for this. can I run the phone directly by connecting only charger and removing the battery...as I keep for downloads of movie over 3g it drains battery damn fast and if its kept charged the battery looses its power. so plz help me out.
I have been looking for this also, what I feel we have to do is like power the device from the battery port, I not sure how we would do this but a multi charger with the right voltage and amps might do it, I am sure there are repair centres that do this as they would not keep using battery's no scrap that I been to a few and they don't and when you send them your phone they ask your NOT to send the battery with the device, so there really must be away to power the device without the main battery but the phone would think the power source is from a battery.
If anyone as a idea how please drop a post.

besides physical limits power output from transformer/ "charger" is too high and will destroy the phone
"charger" because battery is really charged by the charging-circuits placed on phone mobo
It seems many people use old smartphones for their projects. I wonder how they make it?
I want to ask if it is possible to make a fake battery?

Please answer if anybody has knowledge about this
Yes
You should be able to remove your battery if you are plugfged into the mains charger and it shouldnt affect you phone peformance i dd this with my phone and i checked the performance with the SETCPU app and it was running brillantly i just set the app to run on full peformance when plugged into the mains and it was brillant.

Well, it's all about how the phone was build... My HTC Touch Cruise 09 are not working without the battery. I try to start the phone with battery, connect the charger and than remove it. The phone goes off. By mistake, I powered on an LG T300 without the battery, while the phone was connected with an USB cable to my computer. The phone started and worked fine.
So, take your own conclusion...
very helpful
this forum thread was helpful! thanks!
But this works with only some models not every model...is there any specific hardware to do so?
That's hardware related... If it was software related than developers would have done far back...
Any electronics guy/girl here?
Bump... thread into acitivity again... no answer yet. Like to know it as well.
Developers we have enough. But is there a person who has knowledge about electronics, and have an idea how to use , for example,
use a USB 5V without the battery. How to connect wires, what electronics components are needed?
The following website has a way to do it, but it's 12V and one of the components becomes very hot. I don't like that.
http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-use-phone-without-battery/
Help? Running a smartphone on USB power only would be awesome as a bettery is drained fast if you game, surf on the internet, etc.
My S6312 cannot operate without the battery, somehow the 3 connections have to be connected. But how?
Are the connections the same for example the S7275R?

Huawei U8825D Could Be Run without battery by Connecting with a Charger
To my astonishment, with battery removed, Huawei U8825D could be turned on and operated normally with the charger plugged in. I came across this thread as I was wondering if there are tweaks that could be applied to other phone models to enable this function.
I' not sure if this will help but no harm in posting it so may some one can find the best mod I used a similar trick my symbain and gess it will work fine with any other phone but am not responsible for any side effects or any thing like that...

I wonder if phones can not work with no battery, how it can be called an accesory. Because accesory is "1. clothing that is worn or carried, but not part of your main clothing, 2. a supplementary component that improves capability". Samsung says battery is accesory therefore changing battery four times can not provide repayment or changing phone procedure. Have they a right like this
It should work by taking the protection circuitry from an old battery and take a power bank that uses a lithium cell and connect the + & - of the power bank to the + & - of the battery circuitry.
This way it should trick the phone into thinking it has a fully charged battery installed, plus giving the extra overcurrent protection from both boards.
I know its kinda late, but I am searching for a topic and this is as close as I am getting to it. So here is my question. I have an LGV10 from Verizon. I am rooted but have no custom recovery. (you can look up those threads about all of that) I was curious about seeing if I could sort of hot swap the batteries by plugging it in and changing them. The phone appears to run fine off the charger alone, but a message comes up on the screen saying battery removed. Shutting down. Is there a way to get around that?
need powersupply with right voltage and ampere
afaik you need a powersupply to do that.
check the battery voltage and ampere.
adjust the power supply to the same volt and ampere.
connect + and - pin, power up the power supply and turn on your phones.
power supply tools for mobilephones arent cheap.
alernatively,
if you have a technician friend, perhaps you can ask him to make a non dynamic power supply nor electric adapter with certain voltage and ampere
For all those still curious on how to run a phone with no battery
Add watch?v=f0IuBld2lzA[/url] at the end of youtube. I can't post links yet. Basically you cut off the end of your USB cable and connect it directly to the leads on the phone that battery normally connects to. Kind of like a universal charger being used direclty on the phone.
I got an idea

Well battery have some internal registance .
Maybe if you connect a small register between tow nodes of power output of phone, you can possibly emulate presence of battery.
But if it doesn't work then you will facing some circuit failure. All the best . Let us know your result

Battery Replacement

Hi Folks
I'm kind a annoyed about the x920ds battery life ... I think of replacing the battery. Found a few clips around the internet how to do. Seems not that difficult.
But now my question is, would it be possible to replace it with the Butterfly S battery? This one got 3200mAh, compared to stock 2020 mAh.
Ideas? Anyone maybe done this before?

I have no idea if it fits to butterfly. I would open a thread and saw yours. I just replaced battery and broken lcd of my device but i have an issue lcd sometimes stucks but i don't know if it is because of lcd or battery. Battery was empty when i attached it then started to charge. It shows 3 volts instead of 3.7v. Maybe it gets OK when fully charge. Do you have any idea about that?
Last, if you can hold screwdriver, you can easily replace battery but i don't take any responsibility about that. Or, if you wait, i will test my battery after a few days of charge-discharge cycle. Then inform you about battery life.

I connected my old battery and lcd was the same. So problem is not because of battery.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Guess I'll get a regular Butterfly and a Butterfly S battery. So then I can compare in size, connector and stuff. Guess as long as Volt output is the same, it should work.

Hi Guys,
i need help or solution
i will change battery for my htc j butterfly, but so difficult to find this battery on my country (Indonesia), i asking you all, can i change this battery with other model like HTC M7 or like other models??
thanx guys for your answer
m7 => x920d
today i've changed my battery to m7 one. butterfly had voltage downshifts i knew that the battery was bad. it reduced voltage to 3.2v at street (~ -10-15 C°). It ist't normal and I decided to modify my butterfly with m7 battery that was left from m7 donor last year.
I tried to put it on like original one, but no success, the connector was not in it's place. I connected some wires to reach it. everything was ok except charging process, only 1% per one connect/disconnect interation. after that the battery blocked (! in tray). there was not enough comfortable and i decided to put original battery board to m7 bank. it was not so easy but finally i've got modified butterfly with m7 battery inside. i hope this modification will not make harm to my device in future. if that'll be some interesting news i'll let you know.

Battery Replacement

Hello there I think my battery has damaged it is showing unusual behaviour my phone switches off with 5-10% left I thought it might be a calibration issue but I've calibrated it many times the problem still persists also when I charge it in switched off condition the charging starts from 14% instead of 0. I've decided to replace my battery so I've a little query since Mi4i and Mi4c are identical can I use Mi4i's BM-33 battery instead of Mi4c's BM-35 ? Does anyone know please respond to my query.
Thanks in advance☺
No, they are not the same voltage. Get BM-35

Yeah I've seen that too but mi4s is 1 millimeter wider than mi4c I don't think BM-38 will fit into Mi4c. Mi4i's BM-33 will surely fit but I don't know if they have same connector or not :/
I wouldn't replace my battery for such a behavior. Have you ever tried physically recalibrating the battery? Or did you use an app?
In case you didn't, let your phone almost run out of juice, then plug charger in and switch it off. Let it charge for 2-3 hours (depends on your charger Amperes) or something more, then turn phone on while still plugged in.

Actually I'm from India so I bought it from eBay India.
AliExpress might have original ones btw where did you buy ? Check AliExpress they'll definitely be having original ones
no, you can't buy original/genuine ones anywhere - the ones on aliexpress/ebay are better or worse replacements
I've bought one since I've got shutdowns at 25-30% , but the replacement is worse - after a month or two when I enjoyed the fact of having no random shutdowns, the capacity was dropping and I'm back to my original battery
try using slow charger (non-QC2.0) - after a couple of charges with 5V/1A sudden shutdown problems vanishes

the battery of my nexus 4 go mad should i change it

Hello Guys
today my phone i don't know whats happening
the battery be 50 and go 70 and then go 2 so i don't know whats happening should i replace battery or what
i install (Ampere) app and tell me the health of battery is good so i don't what i should do
I would replace the battery. Battery is cheap on ebay even they are likely to be faked. I replaced batteries both of my Nexus 4 with those potential fake one. The temperature sensor isn't working on one of them so I know it is faked. But it doesn't give me trouble so far. I bought three from three different sellers.

Hello,
I've got the SAME problem with my Nexus 4 this week.
I'll try to say what happened (and I didn't resolve this yet)
First of all, it is shuting down my N4 all the time. I need to keep it at charged.
I tried to change my battery with a friend (with N4 too) and the problem persists.
I tried to change our USB modules, without success.
At this phone everything is working alright, even with battery (so it isn't a battery problem).
I cannot charge my battery or calibrate it. I charged my battery at his N4 and put at my N4: "74% battery" (it was 100%).
My gauge do some crazy jumps. It's like "15%, 76%, 100%" and when i put it off "100%, 44%, 2%".
NOTE: I tried to calibrate several times.
It keeps shuting down at normal use.
This problem occurs -at the first time- when I was at Android 5.1.1 (Chroma ROM). I changed to Android 6.0.1 and it still not working.
At charger works very fine.
At "TWRP" it works fine too (don't shutdown)
I REALLY don't know what can I do.
Now, i'm will install a Stock Rom just for science.
I have this problem(random shutdown, random reboot, when plug in battery dance) too. 6 six month ago I changed battery because phone battery drained as ****,so I used my phone only when plugged in (battery wasn't charging, just keep charge) and one day I used my n4 too long without charging, so battery drains. n4 died till I changed battery.
Everything stock, android 5.1.1 LMY48T, still hoping for OTA updates.English isn't my mother language, so will be pleased if you check it
Now I think about buying new phone. As for me its to much change battery one more time. Or itsnt batterys' fault?
I got back the Nexus 4 from a relative because she got a new phone. Also a cousin had a nexus 4. The batteries are terrible. Its been over 3 years so this was expected. I'm hoping the new battery will give it respectable SOT. Right now it just randomly dies at 50% or higher. And I have to wait for it to really die before I can bring it back to life. Its got the RED LED of Death.
Got to say, its a beautiful phone still. Forgot how nice it was

Beware! The majority of batteries sold on ebay are fake! You can identify them by the look: their print on the label is not white, it's more like a dirty grey. Also they are smaller (1-3mm) in length and width. Also they lack a temperature sensor and constantly report a temperature of 22-23°C. A quick check with a hairdryer will reveal it. Don't install these fake ones. I did twice and both failed within less than 100 cycles. Runtime was poor and they were swollen so much they lifted away the back cover!
I just got a Nexus 4 that my mother was using and installed CM13 and now Lineage 14.1 for my father to use. I'm also facing these random shutdowns.
On my last charge, I charged to 100% without any problem and left the phone in standby for a day and a half which took it down to 89%. I then used it last night to give it some SOT and left it at 74%. Just before going to bed, I pressed the power button and nothing. With a long press the phone booted and reported the battery at 73%. Waking up this morning I expected to press the power button and find the phone on something like 67%. Once again the phone had shut down and when I booted, the battery was on 2% and shutdown itself down straight after boot.
If the battery performance is rubbish, I can accept that due to the age of the phone. What I cant accept is totally inaccurate battery reporting and shutdowns. :crying:
I replaced the battery of my Nexus 4 yesterday, purchased from AliExpress. I suppose it is a fake one. The battery was too big to fit into the enclosure. I had to force it to let it fell into place. Finally it fell into place and it was connected, the phone won't turn on. The phone has given only a red led of death for about 12 hours. Probably it means a battery failure. I don't think the cheap batteries are in good condition and I don't think they're safe either.

I think the best chance to get an original battery is to purchase a battery from spareslg.com. The price of the battery is a bit too high in my opinion: 22,60 euros at the moment. A second hand nexus 4 costs approximately 60 euros, 80 euros tops, in the Netherlands. I don't know how much a second hand nexus 4 costs in Turkey. Perhaps it's better to consider a second hand nexus 4 and use your old nexus 4 for spare parts. A known issue of the nexus 4 is that the digitizer will stop randomly and the glass at the front and back of the phone is fragile.

Mediapad x2 freezing when charging and original charger

Hi!
My x2 started to freeze when charging. I started to wonder if it's because of the charger, because I lost the original one and just started to use a samsung charger I had in the drawer. Although I've been using it for a year now..
If someone would be so kind and post a pic or the details of the original charger so I could try if that would remedy the problem.
Thx
My experience is that the original charger is actually not as good as the Samsung charger by any means. The original charger I believe is actually out putting less than in this specification which is 2 amps. The Samsung charger is much better and charges the phone faster. However I have also noticed something really weird in that sometimes after charging the phone overnight my battery is only at around 80% or so and this is random because it only happens sometimes and most times it charges fully. Not sure if anybody else has seen this Behavior
Please use the QUOTE feature when replying to me to get my attention. Thanks!
So the original charger is 5V, 2A? Thanks. I'll try some other charger. It may be busted. Or I have to do a factory reset and see if that fixes the problem

Yes, yesterday my 2 year X2 started to do the same. I was stunned when after short time of charging I realised so phone was freezed and got quite hot on the back. Orange light slowly blinking and after restart it was 80% charged. I suppose it's problem with original charger. I have to look for another one...
//Edit - this is not original charger but Samsung - 5V/2A which till now was working without problems. It's not depends on charger type, occurs even during connecting to USB in PC.
//Edit - if you switch off charger and let it be some time, the phone starts anew. But, what is interesting, newly made TWRP nandroid backup turns out to be delted from SD card.during this 'blackout'..
//Edit - it starts occur not only during charging.. But in such case after self-acting restart phone goes to bootloop so it is needed to restart it manually and then it starts realatively quicker than normal.
Hmm.. could it be the battery dying? I'm using simply international B202 ROM. If changing the charger doesn't help I'll flash the newest ROM in and if even that doesn't fix it I guess I'll change the battery.
Same problem on mine but not when charging. Try my LineageOS 13 ROM, it's faster than EMUI and should make the phone feel faster again. I think Huawei is pulling an Apple and slowing our phones down as the battery dies.
I did a TWRP factory reset and the problem vanished! Hope it won't come back.. I'll try your lineage ajsmsg78 if necessary thx for the tip and all your work!
I have been having very unusual battery issues lately and I do not think it has to do with the charger at all but rather the physical battery itself.
Symptom 1: After charging overnight, by battery is only approx 79% charged
Symptom 2: Battery does MUCH quicker
Symptom 3: When battery gets to approx 20% it does right away giving the popup message that the battery is dead and the phone will turn off in 30 seconds - sounds like defective cell
Symptom 4: Putting the phone on charger when battery is critically low (10%) for 3 minutes, the battery level jumps to 90%
Does anyone know where we can buy a GOOD QUALITY battery to replace for the X2? I know there are some links on AliExpress but I do not know if I can trust those aftermarket batteries in terms of quality and life and reliability.
Also does anyone know how easy it is to replace? I have good soldering skills but don't know if here is more involved than that.
Edit: In the unlikely event that this is a software issue, I might try to clear my "batterystats.bin" file.
Please use the QUOTE feature when replying to me to get my attention. Thanks!
Unfortunately all those symptoms talk about battery dying state...

Also does anyone know how easy it is to replace? I have good soldering skills but don't know if here is more involved than that.

I took apart a Mate 9 and replaced some insides and it was really easy. The X2 shouldn't be any different. You don't have to solder anything, just pull up the flex cable connecting the battery to the motherboard and then pull on the tab on the bottom of the battery to remove the sticky tape underneath it then use some force to pull it up. I only see aftermarket batteries for the X2 so you may not have any other choice but to buy one of those. Your battery is definitely dying though.
