I know what it means and you may not be a troll here but you where on phandroid, also you act like Marcs word is no good and disparage him yet you tout pocketnow like they are always right, when in there review they got multiple things wrong about the phone. The problem with you is you name call and act like a child instead of having a discussion. Also you believe what you want and if there is something contrary even if your evidence comes from a site which has been known to make mistakes its ok with you as long as it fits your agenda

Bro you have no idea the crap i and many others had to deal with when he was on phandroid, he went as far as to start taunting me on youtube as well, with the same barbs about 5th graders and such nonsense. He got reported so many times in a matter of days with just 11 or so posts he got banned. Its unbelievable

and just to end this...
AT&T 4G Network
This phone runs on AT&T's dual-band 850/1900 MHz 4G network (UMTS/HSDPA/HSPA+), and with HSPA+ you'll experience mobile data speeds up to 4x faster than ordinary mobile broadband--up to approximately 6 Mbps (download). AT&T has deployed HSPA+ to virtually 100 percent of its mobile broadband network, which enables 4G speeds when combined with enhanced backhaul (via Ethernet or fiber).
Backhaul is one of the major pieces of a telecommunications network. Think of it as the limbs connecting AT&T's cell towers with AT&T's backbone network that provides access to the Internet.
Coming later in 2011, AT&T will deliver a second layer of 4G network called LTE (Long Term Evolution) that is even faster than HSPA+ speeds.
In areas where either AT&T's 3G or 4G network is not available, you'll continue to receive service on the AT&T EDGE network, which offers availability in more than 13,000 US cities and along some 40,000 miles of major highways.
Note: AT&T's 4G mobile broadband coverage is not available in all areas. 4G speeds delivered by HSPA+ with enhanced backhaul; availability increasing with ongoing backhaul deployment.

Because it's not "defective" if they haven't turned on the backhaul yet. That's what we're trying to explain to you. Have you seen faster speeds on ANY AT&T "4G" phone yet? No, because there aren't any other HSPA+ AT&T phones to compare it to.
That's why your other thread got shut down, because you don't know what you're talking about and you're trying to start a flame war and talk bad about a phone that hasn't officially released yet. Give them a chance to release it and turn on the backhaul, and if it's still this slow in a month or two than I'll join in with you asking why the HSPA+ "4G" is so slow. Until then, it's just speculation.
So stop acting like you're a 5 year old trying to start a fight. Just let the phone come out before you start ranting about how "broken" it is.

Yes there is a section... But in my opinion....big deal. The phone is a year old and android has all the same capabilities....plus more... Enough said =)

The big deal is that the iPhone is for simple people. Android is pretty advanced. Many new Verizon customers will appear when the iPhone drops. It'll slow network speeds due to increased traffic on our towers. I hope it isn't noticeable.
for any retards that googled verizon iphone:
iphone bad

check your info again. Verizon is going to be offering their 4G for the same price as their 3G service. The reason being, it is actually going to cost them less to run the 4G equipment than the 3G equipment. The Verizon CEO said that, i cant remember what site reported that, but i read it. There has been serveral confirmations about the price being the same though.
but since you are talking about ATT, yeah, that does suck for ya'll.

Thoughts and experiences on Verizon!

Hi all, to start of I must say I absolutely love T-Mobile. However, they just do not have the network that can keep me happy. T-Mobile just can't contend with Verizon's 3g coverage or LTE's speed. I know t-mobile has the best customer service ever but that only goes so far. Verizon also has some bad ass phones coming out. With that being said I am seriously considering switching over to big red. I would like to know everyone's thoughts and concerns on their network and customer service.
Thanks in advance everyone!

The MT4G wasn't mentioned until you brought it up in bold. The OP is talking only about carriers, not phones. If it was talking about the MT4G versus another phone, I'd understand, but it wasn't. To my mind, threads about one carrier versus another don't belong in a device-specific subforum, which is what this is. That being said, I don't see discussion going anywhere.

Even if the DOJ or FCC don't allow it, T-Mobile as we know it is probably done. Deutsche Telekom has been trying to sell it and get out of the US market for several years.
They'd been in talks for quite a while to sell to Sprint, but that didn't work out. After that soured, they agreed on the deal with AT&T. Should this not go through, most of the experts seem to think they'll sell things off piecemeal to various carriers.
It's a sucky deal for those of us who like our T-Mobile service, but the writing is on the wall.
Many of us like T-Mobile for their low rates. Unfortunately, that's part of what's been killing them. They're not making much money, and despite with their low rates are continually losing customers. Even with free or nearly free smart phones and cheap data plans, they're hemmorhaging customers. Raising prices to be inline with other carriers would most likely result in a loss of profits and customer turnover increases even more.

We get our info from whatever basis we can. I don't take offense to this because it's partly true. Any of you other AT&T reps (like myself) know that within our company you have the "haves" and "have-nots"...personally, if you're on XDA you're a "HAVE." You are intelligent enough to read and translate what half the stuff on this site means. Think about your counterparts in your stores/locations. We all have that handful that knows bullmoose about these devices. The "Pantechs" of the company, lol. We know how to browse the web to find what we need as AT&T doesn't necessarily give us the FULL specs on phones-just what they want us to push to our customers. So, just know going in that you have a grab bag of reps with different knowledge bases and strengths on these subjects...be prepared...

i have to say that it is better than the sprint reps i have dealt with. i was checking out the epic for a girlfriend that liked my phone and was on sprint and i didnt like the contacts, launcher, and mms apps compared to other sgs phones. the dumb biatch kept repeating that it was the best phone on the market, and im like i know i have an sgs, it's right here and att had it before you had this. and she kept trying to tell me how the epic was so great, i kept finding reasons tw3 apps were better than tw 2.5 apps and asked about call forwarding so it can use google voice as voice mail, told her it was free on att and i didnt want surcharges for call forwarding. she tried to sell me there transcription service which is also a pay service. i gave up and walked out. it wasnt that she was trying to show knowledge, it was that she had a nasty tone of voice and discredited everything i said with the comment "this is the best phone on the market" and showed me no respect. it was clear she was just regurgitating stuff fed to her because we couldn't have a discussion. my att reps like talking to me because they usually learn something.

Hi I would like to buy an iphone 4g.
okay sure, anything specific that draws you to an iphone?
yes. it has 4g and apps.

LMFAO!
yeah i do see people go into the att store and ask for an iphone. not "hey im interested in a smartphone and would like to know what's out there" just "i want to get an iphone, how much is it" i just smile and think their loss.
atleast i can get insureance on my infuse and the price scales over time. the iphone is still $300 for a 32gig version. a captivate or inspire is down to $50-$100 and the infuse as a new release is $200 but is sure to go down with the release of the attain.

Unknown.

So I went to a few stores today that sells att phones. I asked everyone in all 5 of the stores about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note LTE, noone even knew about it as if it will be coming out 6 years from now -.- noone knew there was one even coming out let alone the name :/ it kind of makes me sad when the consumer knows more then the sales reps. They should train more in my opinion this was just my little experiance for the day just thought I'd share. Anyone else looking forward to the note lte for att?

Nobody in a provider store is going to have even a small clue about phones they don't already stock, this should not be a shock. And if you're on xda you're a bit above the typical consumer...
There is basically no benefit in knowing about a phone you don't stock yet from a sales perspective. You can't sell what you don't have.

In-store reps definitely don't know anything. Most reps aren't like us and simply don't care. I usually come across some reps who give out good information about upcoming devices. These reps are always over the phone as they have quick access to the database. Try calling about a general question, talk to them for a bit, and when you're about to end the conversation, pop the question.

Ive sold phones for five years in three locations. I can tell you most of us know about phones as soon as they are rumors. As someone said earlier if we don't sell it we really don't care. To be honest if someone asked me about the note I would kinda just try to end it fast unless we were doing pre orders as asking me about a phone I cant sell isn't making me commission. If it is slow though I will talk about announced upcoming phones for quite awhile. Also most consumers walk in and say i want android or iphone not asking specifics

That's understandable. Wouldn't it be better to actually care and inform a consumer of an upcoming device? By informing them of said device, they might wait for it and pay the $200 with the contract. I understand you want to make some money as well but I guess from a personal standpoint I would help the person that cares as much as I do.

If they are techie I will chat with them build rapport and leave them with a business card and an appointment only if the release isn't months away. The average consumer wants what their friend has and even if a better phone comes out tomorrow won't wait.

Though by far my biggest pet peeve at work is the people who say well I saw this was coming out on _________ tech site and I know all about it where is it. Most of those people end up name dropping xda. Kinda like this "well i frequently read xda and it said this and that and they tend to be just plain wrong. I know most of us on xda aren't like that but when you hear it multiple times a week you tend to want to hull smash something end rant ha

Haha yea I understand. I never ask about a device until it's all over the internet and comfirmed by many sources. That's like calling HTC and asking about the rumored Edge.

I even tried bestbuy lol and the guys words were "our phone tech isn't here today he will be here tomorrow from 12-6" I live 40 mins away from anything so its not in my best choice to go back but anywho I go to the same att retailer when I buy my phones. They know me there and come at me quick because I don't just come in to buy a cheap pantech crossover I'm there with cash in hand and buy phones straight up xD so they are always willing to help. When I went in to buy my Sony xperia play 4g I handed her my iPhone to Bluetooth my contacts, she looked at my iPhone and her exact words were "what the F is this" it was running wp7 xD Haha but in all seriousness I think someone should be hired in the certain area. It'd be like hiring me to sell cars or ovens when I know nothing about them, I feel like they just hire anyone :/ I went to buy a computer once and the worker argued for 30 minutes that 512mb was a gigabyte :/ I shook my head and took my business elsewhere I just don't understand... sometimes I wish everyone cared about a phone as much as we do... instead of "as long as I can listen to music watch YouTube and look at porn, I don't care what it looks like or what it does" :'( I honestly just want to teach everyone for free so I don't feel so smart and dumb at the same time. anyone else feel that way?

Nobody in a provider store is going to have even a small clue about phones they don't already stock, this should not be a shock. And if you're on xda you're a bit above the typical consumer...
There is basically no benefit in knowing about a phone you don't stock yet from a sales perspective. You can't sell what you don't have.

I agree. I've perused tablets in Best Buy and after engaging the nearest 'team member' for less than 3 minutes, I realize that I know more than they do.
It's the same experience when going to the auto parts store. There are some people who can carry on informed conversation, but 90% are the type who watch fast & furious movies in awe, and know nothing about repair or maintenance or they can only look up part numbers.
Basically, lower your expectations.
This is why I get mad when I've tried many times to get a job in those kind of places to no avail because I don't seem to have any big time qualifications to my record yet if I go into any outlet store and begin talking about phones, the sales rep looks at me like I'm making up things or shocked I know anything.

I have had similar experience with applying for jobs at auto parts stores. The 'now hiring' sign is displayed for several months and the staff changes about every 3 weeks, but I never get called. For a while there was an older woman who not only knew nothing about cars but she also needed help to use the computer program to look up parts.
I finally realized that these people will work for less money than I will because I actually know what I am doing. It really is sad that people with any level of technical or mechanical ability don't actually work at the retail level because they can't get enough money.
And don't get me started on the people who work at Home Depot . .
I have no past work experiance. I'm 19 years old have been the "bad" kid because I used to be a "black magic" hacker I've gotten introuble from schools best buys and targets because of it but now I'm past all that I do phones tablets anything mobile. There is never a time when I'm in best buy that I'm back in the computer/phone area and usually an older citizen is talking to a sales Rep about which one is better and the sales Rep says well product A is $1299 with 4gb ram touchscreen is way better then product B $899 8gb ram and so on but they go by the price as the sales Rep was walking her to the register I kindly walked up and said "hello ma'am I noticed you were interested in two different so-so" the sales Rep called the manager and had me kicked out for costing him the sale xD but they wont hire me? I have long hair and look like a "druggie" I don't do drugs don't have tattoos or metal on my body but yet they hire people who are clueless

I don't mean to overstep the rules of polite conversation but you may wish to think about your image. It isn't fair that we judge based on looks, but it happens.
*Edit - When I say looks I also means assumptions that people will make of others based on their prejudices. -*End Edit
Most recently, I applied for a job repairing projectors. During the interview they kept asking me about how well I would transition to an office environment. Completely Ridiculous! I would be working in the workshop not the office and I happened to be better dressed than any of my interviewers.
Basically, some people cannot see past their little world or people they can understand.
Man Verizon store by me they don't know anything. And they are jerks as well. Went to upgrade my moms phone and said she wouldn't get unlimited data with her Droid 3 so I just bought it from newegg called up and boom she got her unlimited data. Never going back to that store again. Hate how now you have to bring phone to store to get replaced.
