Update Procedure
1. Downlaod LGDP2 V36 UMTS Setup and extract, go to LGDP2_31_INCLUDE_LGDP1_Setup folder and install the exe (use serial number). Now copy all the files from DOWNLOAD folder and paste on C:\DOWNLOAD (overwrite if needed).
2. Install LG United Modem Driver, connect the phone to PC through USB cable and let the drivers to be installed. USB 1.1 is recommended.
3. You'll need firmware in DZ format and the correct DLL for your model.
4. Open LGDP2_V36_UMTS from C:\DOWNLOAD, select UMTS in Division and click OK.
5. Select port (check Device Manager for LG USBModem Port number), you can set a range from easy select or select manually. Select DLL and select firmware in Downlaod Configuration. Click OK.
6. Click START in main window and connect the phone to USB cable in Emergency download mode(VOL+CAM+PWR).
*whatever you do, do at your own risk, I just shared original materials and obviously will take no responsibilty

I am sure many will appreciate this.
Question for you: Would the TELCEL MEXICO E900h one be compatible with the E900h on Canada's TELUS?

This is amazing, thank you so much!

DONT TRY THIS
I just did everything and the program gave me an error in the progress: ErrNum4008 RAM PROGRAM. That's all I got and now my device doesn't do anything anymore. I cant turn it on, nothing. Not even the Emergency download mode. I've seen bricked devices but this is far worse. I don't even get a splash screen or whatsoever, the phone is dead.

you can use this without any issue.
I was able to re-flash my device (initally locked by VF Spain) and I have the EU-OPEN FW and all process was ran fine.
Only one note, please disable the USB 2.0 on you computer and run the SW in compatibilty mode with XP and administrator Rights.
Thanks for the post.

me the same... succesfully flashed my mobile from Vodafone Italia to Telecom Italia Mobile.... just a question: EUROPE OPEN is an operator or a version without any kind of customization? Thanks))

have you had any issues with MMS after this process or using it on your chosen provider,
and one more question if i may,
did you have the bluetooth issues before you started this process and was it rectified
basicaly i have the bluetooth isuue as in it dont work at all( it did but it stoped)
and im wondering if this helped resofle that conflict or if i should just get it sent away from my provider ??

To solve the MMS issue you have to select the appropriate .xml file for your provider, that file contains provider specific-information for MMS, WAP and other stuffs.
Here it's how:
-Dial: ##634# :this will enable MFG, a secret app
-Press the "call" button
-Now the MFG icon is listed on the "programs list".
-On the MFG screen input this password: 277634#*# (translated is appmfg#*#) and press enter.
-Now you can access to many options, tests.....
Go under 7.Engineer Menu then under 6. Other Settings, then choose Set network profiles.
Here guess which one is the correct .xml file for your provider:
I have TIM Italia, so mine is _PROV_TIM_IT_222_01.xml yours should be there somewhere...
tap to select it, wait, then you are done!

Cause one of the guy tryed to flash with a FW of different than the original one, for now maybe it's better to flash with SAME NATIONALITY or EUROPE OPEN until we got better news
Remeber to everyone to disable screensaver, standby, antivirus and any open applications while flashing, if possible use a clean updated installation of Windows XP (because these software's runs better on XP)

Is there a way to start the program and then connect the phone and hope it gets recognised? Like some kind of button combination. I think I've tried them all but you never know. The thing that frustrates me the most is when I got the error I was still in the emergency mode so I could still try and flash another rom. But after I turned off the phone it didn't respond to anything anymore.

With the FW EUROPE OPEN you can install the "LG Configuration Tool" and fully use it to autoselect the provider or change it manually.
Also, you can use the MFG menu. But the MMS problem with this FW is solved.

thanks rider for the reply i probaly should of made my question clearer, but your reply was what i needed and the folowing replies are helpfull
maybe i should just give it a go and see if it fixes my bluetooth issue
there does not seem to be a vodaphone UK listed (is there actualy one) as this is what im on not sure if id be able to get it back to original
another Q what was the MMS issue

just be careful flashing because a memeber bricked his phone because flashed with a rom of a different country.... use another UK provder or (suggested) use EU OPEN and then customize settings the way I told u (mms, wap....)
we are not sure the brick was for the different country but while we have better news stay on your same countries or EU OPEN that should be valid for all countries.
Again, when you flash use the correct DLL, one is for the E900, the other for E900H, also roms are different so be careful.
When you flash shut down AV software, all the applications and if possible under Windows XP or at least in compatibility mode (personally I used Win7 x64 and no compatibility... but WinXP is better for this old programs....)

Nasirhned,OP
Sorrry if you have posted aboouth this [Q] else where
but i am curious as to your post about the firmwares for Optimus 7 is there one for VodaFone UK as i do not see one listed
any users that have questions about if this process fixes your Bluetooth issues i will reply with my results

Hi, I've added VODAFONE UK firmware, Please check again.

hi again!,
the MMS issue is that the not open devices, cannot configure 100% the mms apn settings and this function cannot be used.
With an open rom it is available to configure and use with any carrier.
Regards, and goog weekend!

That's not exact.
You can the same personalize the configuration of the mms with any firmware selection the appropriate XML file in the mfg menu!
The best thing anyway is to use the correct firmware for the correct provider unless you have really specific needs (you change different SIMs frequently)

Always charge the battery fully before any operation. If any error occurs while upgrading the phone will remain in Emergency Download Mode, DON'T PULL BATTERY AT THIS SITUATION, try update again.
Same problem we saw before on Samsung Omnia too.

Yes, in the MFG menu you can re-select the settings but for example in Spain, the device sold by Vodafone, is locked (or the xml is corrupt) for the Orange carrier, I had been notified that this happend to another carriers in another countries...
Regards,

Hi, could use a little advice if possible.
I'm planning to flash UK Vodafone to Europe Open (eventually to use with my O2 sim) via Windows 7 and have some questions:
1. Which USB driver to install: LGUnitedMobileDriver_S497CA20 or LGUnitedMobileDriver_S497MA20?
2. On windows 7, how exactly to I disable USB 2.0 and enable USB 1.1?
3. How to I actually download the firmware? Clicking the link on Europe Open either gives me a 403 or another strange page - obviously this one is a show stopper for me.
4. Where do I put the firmware and the dll - is it in C:\Windows?
5. When (if?) flashed successfully, will the nodo update mess it up and reinstall the Vodafone stuff or will this be a permanent Europe Open that can be updated by Zune as if it was the original firmware?
Sorry for the newbie questions but I like to be careful and I really need to do this as it's the only way of getting mms on my unlocked UK Vodafone.
Thanks in anticipation.

Question:USA ROM to be used in the Philippines (900/1800/3g)

im sorry if this has been discussed before but I tried SEARCH button and Im having problem connecting to the database. I also browse on some thread and I didn't see an answer to my query.
So here it goes...
I got an IMate Jam from the US (Band 850/1800/1900).
1.) Is it possible to install non USA ROM like O2 Asia, Qtek or iMate WWE? Because when I tried to install the WWE version it says incompatible device (not the country error). Should I just follow the procedure from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=MagicianRomUpgrade and everything will be fine?
2.) If ever that procedure will solve the problem.. will the band be changed to 900/1800/1900? (or is this a hardware thingy?).
2.a If it will not change the band, how bad will the signal be on a country that uses 900/1800?
2.b If it will change the band, will the reception be better?
Thanks and will wait for ur replies

Help with upgrading / ROM ...

Im currently living abroad in Germany and have purchased a Kaiser via T-Mobile, branded as MDA Vario III. Well I love the device but my german sucks and the whole OS is in german. Is there anyway I can flash to ROM to get an english version of the OS? If I did this would it still work in Germany via T-Mobile or is there some kind of lock to the current ROM? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Yep! Just HardSPL, and then select an English ROM (most are) and flash.
Read the Sticky in this forum for guide lines on how to flash, and common problems and thier solutions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1846653&postcount=800
Go there and READ and READ. (Read the Wiki first). You will find all your solution there. Everything you need explained over there.
I will describe the procedures you will need:
1. Back up your stuff
2. Charge up your phone to 100% and connect to your pc with usb make sure ActiveSyn can see your phone
3. CID or SIM unlock your phone first if it is necessary then.
4. HardSPL your phone (You can find the information in the Wiki)
- If you encounter White Screen Problem, check the HardSPL White Screen
Issue - Solved!
5. Find a Rom that you like
6. Find the radio rom that rom supports
7. Flash the rom
8. Do a HARD RESET when you see the "Tab the screen to setup windows mobile..."
9. Flash the radio rom
10. You are DONE!!!!!!!
As long as it's GSM band, then it should all work. You might have to manually setup the 3G network for Germany on your phone.
Thanks for the feedback! My main concern was not knowing if it would work with my carrier after I do the ROM.
However the 3G network is a BIG deal 3G is soooo much faster than GSM. Is it even possible to manually setup the network afterwards?
Thanks again, you have been great!
you can always setup your 3G network manually afterwards. It's just a different rom version. It's like you install English version of Winxp on your PC instead of the German version. You can still setup your wireless connection for your PC.
Sine you are in Europe, I would suggest you use Dutty's WM6.1 Rom (The bluetooth has a bit of issue - not able to receive file transfer, but he's working on the RTM version with the fix). Dutty's rom is cooked based on the Vodafone rom (He's in England), so I would suppose there should be pre-set 3G setting for Germany as well.

[Q] No signal or No service on Samsung Galaxy S

I noticed that my galaxy was sluggish & decided to preform the solution here: hemorrdroids.net, speed up your Samsung galaxy S
now in the process, i got it wrong several times whiles flashing with the odin. when I finally got it right and reinstalled the firmware, the phone displays a no service notification, but show the name of the network chip in it. no signal bars as if it were locked. I bought it as unlocked phone. now I cant even search for a single network in my country. when u do a manual search, it returns nothing. if u try the dialer it says not registered to network..
does anyone know how to get my signal a GPS working?? please!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hmm... I've got the same problem as you... Flashed docs to my Galaxy S Yesterday and now it show no service notification.... Anyone who have a got an idea?
I am also facing the same problem. Any one who has solved it ?
Got the same problem, from 1 day i have notification (no service)
Got the same problem plz plz some one helpp
Not sure if it's the same problem you folks are having, but there's a thread on here entitled "Problem with Airplane Mode on Epic after installing midNight ROM" that describes a problem with no signal after a ROM flash, and a solution via using Odin to update just the modem.
I would post a link, but the forum here won't let me because I don't have enough posts. Your mileage may vary, but the symptoms sound similar so it might give you a place to start even if the fix doesn't fix you.
I too am having the same problem. It seems that my Phone (Galaxy SC-02b) does not recognize the modem/internal antena.
I installed the Darky's Rom on it, and it runs great. Except the signal part. I can flash it back to the original, but I want to see if I can make it work.
I think it's just a matter of picking out the correct modem tar, but I can't find the right one. My phone is a little bit odd, It's a Japanese Galaxy, so not sure if I can find it here. Unfortunately my Japanese is not good enough to go scouring the japanese forums.
Thanks for any help.
Hey Yefimenko what 3G bands are used in Japan 1900/850 or maybe 900/2100 or 1700/2100 ? Can you find that out ? then you need to flash modem that supports that , Europe support 900/2100 US/Canada/Australia 850/1900 and AWS 1700/2100 Tmobile US /Wind? mobilicity Canada

We've been through all of this before the Japanese phones will only work with the Japanese kernel. Symptoms are usually sin not recognized and no radio signal. Either the phone.apk is bad or the modem is incompatible.
You could try the http://romkitchen.org/ and make an update with different modem only.
If your Samsung Galaxy S displays no network/no signal, or emergency calls only, try the following things:
1. flash the device again with the modem image (download the firmware of your device from samfirmwares.com, delete everything from the .tar file except modem.bin, and then flash this file to the phone with Odin (you can get Odin and instructions from that site too)
2. maybe your nv_data.bin file or /efs directory got corrupted, make a backup of the folder, then simply delete nv_data.bin, it will be recreated for you on Galaxy S.
For this, you’ll need root. If you have a root-enabled kernel, like the Voodoo lagfix kernel, you only have to install the Superuser app and Busybox on the phone, download the Android SDK to your PC, install platform-tools in the SDK manager, go to the platform-tools directory and start adb shell.
In the shell, type su, wait for the Superuser prompt to appear on the phone (if it does not appear, open the Superuser app and try executing su again), enable root access for the command. Now go to /efs, copy everything to for example /sdcard/efs, then rm nv_data.bin.
Reflashing the device with a kernel and checking “phone EFS clear” in Odin also works (make sure you made a backup of the EFS folder just in case).
3. you can try changing the CSC (to XEO for Europe): enter *#272*imei# on the phone tab. Note: this will reset your phone to factory settings, so make sure you did a clockworkmod backup before this. Incorrect CSC setting may cause MMS not working also.
4. check if you inserted the SIM card correctly
Thanks

No Network after change of CSC - is there a recovery strategy?
SOLVED
======
Asked around and it goes like this: 2.1 + market = no signal, (2.2 or 2.3) + market = no problem
Solution is UPGRADE from 2.1. to 2.2 or better - I hope this will help anyone else with the same problem.
If you can't do it yourself, any mobile shop will for a small fee.
Symptoms
========
Changed CSC from KSA to XSG with code *#272*HHMM# for 2.1 (no Market in KSA mode)
Galaxy S GT-I9000 now shows blue circle with diagonal in notification area at top of screen.
Settings > Wireless and network > Mobile networks Network mode > Network operators > Search Networks or Select Automatically produces no response - finds no networks.
Dialpad dial a number => "Not registered on network"
Coincidental hardware failure seems very unlikely but not impossible I suppose.
What I would like to know is if there is a recovery strategy from here?
Even if it includes installing a complete new firmware? (and possibility to revert to original if required for warranty)
Device does not respond to "3-finger salute" (volume-home-power).
I am not confident that a warranty is worth all that much in this part of the world. It may be quicker and more effective to do it myself.
Further details of history and phone info below.
I will be very grateful if anyone can help me out
History
=======
Phone purchased in Saudi Arabia (KSA). Worked fine with pre-paid SIM (mobily) voice, data, sms, wifi.
Phone also worked fine with a pre-paid sim (cosmote whatsup) in Greece - voice, data, sms, wifi.
However, since phone was purchased in KSA, Android Market was not installed. Found a Market.apk and installed that. Installs but doesn't actually work.
Found code for changing CSC (*#272*HHMM# for 2.1, *#272*[IMEI No]# for 2.2) 2 colleagues had success and no problems with this with a Tab and 2 Ss, albeit with 2.2. The code looks worth a try on 2.1 so I gave it a go.
Had to remove the side-loaded Market before the code would run and changed the CSC from KSA to XSG.
Market pops up on the screen and works fine.
BUT no network. Network name shows in the Notifications though. The GR SIM shows "(No Service)"
Factory reset, returning CSC to KSA do not help.
The mobily SIM works fine in other phones but no known good SIM works in this phone.
Mobily tech support (in store visit, usually commpetent guy who knows me) is completely flummoxed and asks me if I have a warranty.
So now I have a very compact WiFi only tablet

Solution to your problem
Hi All,
This happened to me before and I was as frustrated as you and when I was about to give up, I tried one last restoration, but only this time I did it correctly. After that, I restored 5 different versions of Samsung Galaxy S stock ROM back to my Samsung Galaxy S. One of these versions were Chinese, and everything was in Chinese.
Samsung Galaxy S had no signal was because the modem file was missing while you were performing the restoration.
Now, all you have to do is go to this page and follow the instructions to restore the Stock ROM back to your Samsung Galaxy S.
same problems
Hi guys, I have same problem. But a litle diffirent.
When I use 2.3.6 firmware version it's work well no problem. But when I use 4.x.x Rom it says no network and no imei. If I use 4.x.x om pluged the charge my device ,I see gsm company and imei number. It's very interesting. I think , electricty not enough for my device. Maybe Its hardware problems. I 'dont any idea.
How can I solve this problem?
Thanks.

install a spanish vodafone firmware on an unlocked galaxy s7 from t-mobile usa?

hi guys,
i bought a secondhand s7. on its back it says "sm-g930t". but in the settings it says it's a "sm-g930f". so it appears like the pre owner flashed the phone with a different firmware.
baseband version is g930fxxs4bqc1.
so, the phone works fine with all functionalities here in spain, however i cannot get any security updates, neither ota, and i also tried to use smart switch but did not manage to get it to work with the online tutorials.
i'm using a mac and the smart switch menus are somewhat different to windows - seems i can only get into the emergency recovery / manual update options when i start the phone with the power / home / volume down combination - but then my phone is stuck in download mode, and my computer won't be able to connect to it either.
long story short, can i install a spanish vodafone firmware? as that's my local provider, and i assume if i install that i will get ota update functionality?
thanks in advance for your advice.

Can someone help me remove Vodafone carrier from firmware please.

I bought a used Note 20 Ultra (Exynos) which is unlocked to all networks, (so works fine) but still has the original Vodafone Service provider software, which means every time I reboot it tries (and fails) to load a Vodafone mobile calling plan.
Now I've uninstalled the preloaded 'My Vodafone' app, done numerous wipe and restarts, I've even used Odin and Installed the carrier free BTU (UK) firmware from 1st of Nov but the Vodafone crap is still there, even after installing the BTU firmware with my EE sim card installed.
I'm at a loss on how to remove this Vodafone rubbish. And the help guides to change the CSC by *#272* imei etc doesnt work on my handset.
In the screen shot you will see the Service Provider SW Ver is VOD/VOD/VOD/EUX/VOD.
Even now on the 1stNov BTU firmware it still says VOD/VOD/VOD/EUX/VOD
Does anyone know how to remove this so I can just have a stock UK/EU firmware?
Thanks.
So after doing a bit of research, I managed to change the csc to BTU, apart from the last listing.
Can anyone help with this please?

I'm not to sure, but according to my past experience, in changing the CSC , (the last CSC )
eg...... / /XFV
is "hardcore" and cannot be changed.?
I might be wrong, but that's what I found /understood.!
Don't know, if you are rooted... maybe?
Good luck

The vodafone bloat is probably linked to your sim card, install a package into app and see (select system processes from 3 for menu) and get a list of ALL apps, then it'll be easier to see if there is something in the firmware and then just uninstall it via adb.
Reason why it tries to load a Vodafone plan it's mostlikely last owner of the phone used E-SIM it's electronic sim. Go into settings then go to where you manage SIM 1 and 2. There you can manage e-SIM check if a plan is added there if it is then remove it so the phone will stop loading it.

I think you might be right, but no matter what I try, I cannot or don't have the option of removing the Vodafone bloat.. There isn't anything listed in sim 2 or esim, but when I access the esim field/ option it tries to load a Vodafone plan. Just like when the phone is restarted.
I've attached two screen shots.
Appreciate the help
And you have done factory reset?

The last is changing if you put a Sim card and when you reset the phone on startup it asks that it found a sim card and if you want to switch to that , or is that only for country csc ?
Use frija or sammobile to download UK firmware without Vodafone.
Initially I did download the BTU version of the latest firmware release, and that installed correctly, with a clean wipe, but the VOD csc remained all intact.
I then bought and used Samkey, to change the csc to BTU (uk unbranded) and that has got me to where I am now, with the last csc entry still listed as VOD, and what looks like a 'baked' in esim plan.
I didnt do a fresh wipe when I used Samkey. And I've never owned a VOD simcard. It is running fine with EE sim. Apart from this last bit of Vodafone carp.
Do you think another full wipe and install will remove this last bit of Vodafone? Now the csc is changed?
Thanks
Update:
As much as I hate wiping and reinstalling, I bit the bullet, and used odin to install btu yet again. This is the first time since using samkey, and this time I put two sim cards in the tray. One BT (EE), and the other giffgaff (O2). Before flashing.
Now the VOD (Vodafone) csc entry is still present, but it looks like all the carrier esim & app data has gone.
I think that's as good as it's going to get. I just don't know how to remove that last csc entry.

Well, I got the proof now that the last assumed hardcore named AID should be able to change because I know somebody who was able to remove it but I don't want it removed but changed!
I add image as proof that you should be able to change it otherwise that person shouldn't be able to remove it!

My guess, is that the person rooted his phone.!
So if you root your phone, you most probably
can change it.!
My point /post was about flashing Stock firmware. No root.
Good luck.

Ok, I understand and that person probably rooted the phone indeed!
But I guess when you root your phone and are able to get rid of it then it should be able to change it as well because hardcore means that you never can change it or remove it otherwise it isn't a HARDCORE! Because that person told me he does everything with kernel and not rooted
So I guess it should be possible as well with a flash but then we need to find a good firmware to flash and not just the original.
I guess it can be done with kernel but at the moment I am still learning/figuring out how kernel works.
Then I guess it can be done without rooting.
Do you know how to fix to get deleted maps/files back when you have deleted them while rooted?

personal am reusit ceva ,cu mult chin,cu aplicatia Unistaller
Uninstall any Apps – Aplicații pe Google Play
Howdy
I personally managed something, with a lot of trouble, with the Unistaller application
Uninstall any Apps – Aplicații pe Google Play
Cel mai simplu și mai rapid instrument de dezinstalare pentru Android
play.google.com
but the vodafone appbox still remains in the applications, and it sends a message, thank you for being a vodafone customer, but this message only appears when you turn on the phone, it no longer appears every time you unlock the screen normally
