Odd, ok, now it's downloading for me. Anyone actually "try" it to see if it works?

Ill have to try again. Wasn't working when I tried

Turns out it was my download accelerator on my computer. Turned it off and it downloads just fine (FYI). Thanks.

Anybody tried flashing my kernel in the desirehd thread with this rom yet? Nandroid before you try btw
Sent from my PG06100 using Tapatalk

I will give it a try. I've tested my nandroid and it works perfect so I'm not worried about a few flashes. I will report back on it in a few minutes.
***Boot loops when you try it.

this rom IS rooted, but you have to download Superuser from the market yourself. i ran into the same titanium backup problems.

[ROM][STOCK UVKD1 - FLASHABLE] T959VUVKD1 Zip File

So after a bit of work I was able to decrypt the encrypted file from the fus.samsungmobile.com site. The result? The stock zip able to be flashed to your device to put it on UVKD1.
Mostly I did this because of people who may have problems with Kies Mini to update to UVKD1 (like I did, took forever to get drivers etc and kies to behave).
Again this is completely stock! Nothing done to it. I did use Kies Mini to apply this update automatically, but again it's the unencrypted zip that gets flashed to your phone.
As always, I'm not responsible for bricking your device etc. etc.
I imagine this can be used via ODIN to update your device, but again I haven't gone through this process.
As I have not tested this method personally, I cannot guarantee anything. Just wanted to provide the STOCK Zip without the encryption on it.
Anyone more knowledgeable about this please feel free to interject.

only thing I noticed was that the pattern lockscreen now has the emergency button at the bottom centered below the pattern. It's fairly smooth, seems like mostly bug fixes based on the release notes.
I'd really be curious to find out what the OTA url is for this, but not sure anyone here is going to get the OTA, cause we're probably all rooted or that and KC1 won't.
However, if anyone does wanna logcat and then get the OTA eventually that would be cool.

Flash GB Zimage without using Heimdall

Those of you having problems rooting GB through Heimdall. Just google powerarchiver it will turn the GB zimage into a flashable that you can use in Odin.
I just done it and it WORKS!!! used root checker after reboot to verify I have root.Just thought I would share the info.
BIG thanx 2: dsexton702 for getting us rooted
Use dsexton702 zImage-root.tar first this will put you in the bootloop. Powerdown and go back in download mode. Then flash Zimage.tar file next using Odin and you should be all set

After I performed the flash with Odin, it appears I am rooted with SuperUser installed, however, when I try to do an adb shell and then su command, i get "Permission Denied". Has anyone seen this issue? If so, how did you resolve it?

I just tried this right now, there is an ISSUE. When it boots up right after splash screen looks live a video driver issue. gets to t-mo jingle then freezes then shutsdown. SO YES, FLASH WITH CAUTION
KF2 Modem
I extracted the KF2 Modem and made flashable.

so did you get any luck with that rom?
how come when unzipping it the file name is kf1?
outgoing call log works thank god and wifi bars are strong a little diffrent than the first release
This is great news. Means that they are actively working on 2.3 and that the KF1 leak wasn't just an isolated thing.
Will flashing this (without the .pit) cause a data wipe? Anyway to load this up without losing data?
This isn't rooted and there's no super simple way to root it, right?

Ok. So which one of you is correct?
And what good is a backup without root ability to restore the backup?
Last time I asked about the wipe, a couple of people confidently said that using ODIN ALWAYS wipes data. I am pretty sure that I upgraded to the current stock ROM using ODIN without a wipe, plus have updated my Vibrant a few times via ODIN without a wipe.
So what's really correct here?

[Q] Rooting KG4!?

I know about the original thread but it's too long and about random stuff.
So i flashed via Odin to the KG4, it's fast and smooth but i would like to root it so i can (a) get my apps back with titanium and (b) have some fun. However, when doing the z-image and z-image root files with odin, the phone would show a boot screen and then come back, it would do it every minute or so. But this only happened while rooted. I was wondering if there is another way to root KG4?
Also can i use a regular backup app to restore my apps and data even though its in a titanium backup file?
I take no credit for this...
Thanks to corradokng for this method and to dsexton for finding original root zimage!!
For Root Follow Below:
THIS IS FOR ODIN
1. Flash This zimage-root-tar
2. Let Boot Loop Twice, you should see a fish.
3. Boot Back into Download Mode
4. Flash this. zImage-KG4.tar.md5
5. You should now have Root
6. Hit Thanks
Both files can be foung in the OP of the Leaked KG4 thread

awesome thanx for figuring it before i had to try a thousand combonations...
This is awesome!
How long should it stay at Samsung after doing all of the steps? I did all of the steps. Samsung flashed several times. Now its just staying at Samsung. Been this way for a couple of minutes.
sdcard issues
ok, first of all I did this and everything worked fine.
Upon first reboot, I think it went 4 or 5 times through the samsung bootloop and then loaded the rom (i wasn't watching it fastidiously).
Upon loading the rom and loading my apps from titanium backup, I finally hit the issue of not being able to move apps to the sd card; it just comes up with "failed to move application". I've rebooted just to make sure things weren't off from first boot. It's still not letting me move any apps to sd (even if allowed in the os).
Any ideas on what to try next?
I'm still at Samsung logo. Don't think its going to load the Rom. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Following the steps. This is the second time I've tried this.
NM, figured it all out.
Going to give it a shot shortly.
This failed to work 3 times. Going back to RFS Gummy.

From what I have read over at Rootzwiki, that seems to be a problem exclusive to Imnuts' hacked kernel (possibly, he posted that he is looking into it as some users used his kernel and didn't have this problem). This process uses another kernel.
I was waiting for more users to give reports back, but I might just give this one a go.

Hrmm. Well for the people it isn't working for, try following the guide here to at least get a good copy of EP1Q on there and working first. Then follow my process.
Sucks that the imnuts kernel isn't working right yet. I would love to have the EP1Q kernel working on this, would be much more ideal.
It breaks root for me too. Come one imnuts, i know you know what is causing it, you are a smart cookie. Put out an updated zip already lol...

I executed this method using Imnuts kernel and kept root (Thankfully). However I looked at the post to confirm EXT4, and my Terminal Emulator doesn't match the one posted at all. Right now, it's just showing data and dbdata on EXT4, the rest is still on RFS. Is this normal for GB? I can post the exact coding if needed.
