I am starting to believe that the set of tasks commands on the new HTC 7 devices (tested on HTC Surround) are completely different. In older phones "set 16 0" was used instead of "set 14 0", so I tested "set 16 0" and got:
+WriteRamToNand: dwBlockLoc = 2032, dwBlockId = 0, dwPageId = 0
The same as "task 28 55aa" or "task 28".
Also "task 32" dissapears the "HTC USB Sync" from device manager (it is like the phone was unplugged).

4G Troubles? Get Insight Here (Don't be deceived by fake "fixes")

Why did I name this thread as such?
Too many users are reporting 4G fixes that wont work for everyone!
If you've got a working MAC their fixes may work, if not don't even bother.
The whole point of this thread is to tell you what is going on and save you from mindless flashing of so-called "fixes".
I'm going to start off by assuming you have adb and root access.
adb is from the Android SDK, and there are many guides on how to use it.
Go into "adb shell" and type "su", your phone's screen will ask for root permission, just accept.
Now type "wimax_mtd", this will bring up alot of info, scroll up to the top.
You will see alot of info, so here's a breakdown...
If you see "Dev MAC = 00:16:08:00:XX:XX", there is no fix yet. The unrevoked team is working on it.
It does not matter what roms you flash or what order, you will not be able to fix this until there is a solution from unrevoked!
If you see:
Firmware Version (4.6.2.2v25641): You have the 1.47.651.1 wimax
Firmware Version (4.6.2.2v25043): You have the 1.32.651.6 wimax
Firmware Version (4.6.2.2_v24722): You may have toasts old wimax or another older release
If anyone else can help me grab a list of versions, that would be great.
Here's info on getting DamageControl 3.2.2.1 working, it has been verified by some helping me out.
I do get Dev MAC = 00:16:08:00 but did not use the unrevoked method or update. I take it that they are just the ones working on a fix for this? Thanks for the thread, I think it is helpful.
My 4G has not been working ever since trying unrevoked's OTA update. Here's what mine says:

You should not both have the same MAC...what roms did you two flash?
It sounds like the issue may be in more than one rom if so.
Check the back of your phones, it it doesn't match let me know.
I believe the issue is with the wimax_25641R01.img file that is being flashed from the full radio update you posted. I made a small change to the update script to writ that image from the sdcard instead of from the cache directory. Doing so seems to have caused the same MAC issue that the unrevoked guys ran into.

I've had others report that the MAC has remained unchanged.
I, myself, have the latest radio & wimax working.
Not sure if i can help but this is what i got when i did "wimax_mtd", i had first fresh-evo-0.3 i then installed Evo_1.47.651.1_De-odex"d_Rooted "did not reboot, then installed New_radio, "rebooted" then installed new_wimax. I am not in a 4G area so not sure if it works but i thought i would try and help.

I got this but 4G is not working right, so back to the drawing board for me
If there is anything i can help with i will try my best to help, i am new to android but have alot of computer knowledge. Is there a way to test wether 4G works with out having 4G in my area? I would assume not but i thought i would ask.
I got the files from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=713770 and when that didn't work I tried wimax_25641R01.img and new_wimax.zip from the DamageControl thread that was linked in one of these Wimax update threads. I started from a rooted stock ROM. Would it be best to go completely back to stock?
I do have a stupid noob question though. Where on the back of the phone is the Dev MAC label?
I wonder if my phone is screwed up from the 'bad block' and millions of lines of code before reaching the end. this sucks!

If you don't know what TS driver to use try Uberizer option k/22 and use command "lsmod" on original working ROM.

STEP BY STEP FOR INSTALLING TS MODULES:
You need to have ADB installed before proceed
1. Flash FaaastJB with Livesuit 1.11
2. Wait for tablet to boot and load
3. Connect your tablet to PC
4. Extract all content from TS MODULE archive to a directory
5. Execute run.bat
6. After press any key dialog the tablet will reboot
7. That's all folks
If you don't know what TS driver to use try Uberizer option k/22 and use command "lsmod" on original working ROM.
I recommend try all archives and test both TS and gsensor for better result, don't stop at the first working TS try more.

hi there, thanks for this rom, i tried all of the ts driver, but nothing work. sorry but i dont know my default driver because before i installed diffrent rom on this tablet, that time i was not working so there is no chance of knowing the default driver, then i opened the back case, the only familliar name there is the allwinner tech a13 nothing more... so there is no indication of the ts driver, is there anyone can help me?

there is not much you can do apart from to source more drivers and keep trying different ones until you get a working one... especially as you have no clue on what the modules were on the original firmware....

The Touch seem to respond but is not calibrated
I have tried Touch Recalibrate and TSCalibration but the situation remane the same
These are my info on STOCK ROM (i have backuped it whit CWM...but after installed this rom i didn't have the recovery anymore so now i can't restore it because i don't have an OTG adapter for install the recovery on the tablet)

I thought people were saying it would brick their device or no touch screen. If not I will do it today. I can work around the battery issue. It came
with a Firmware dated 11-30-2013 witch is not to old.
Should I capture this current firmware image on here for others? (How?)

Hi, firstly thank you for you rom. I have a tablet EVOQ QPAD710A. This ROM works on my tablet but i have a problem. With default rom is everythink fine but whit FaaastJB 2.5 tablet working only on usb or charger. On charger or USB tablet do a randomly crap sounds from speaker and when i unplug charger or usb the exact moment of the sound, the tablet turns off hard.
Can anyone help with this?

You must use the a valid PID , 123 is an example .
For getting PID of an APP/Process , use the this command in terminal :

You need to be root to attach to already running processes.
I also find the "-f" option useful for more complex executables (which fork new processes). "-o" to write the output to a file can be useful if there is much output.

I haven't seen it, but its just in android sources and only in debug builds for debugging the android but This is a standalone build of latest STrace suitable for developers to debug their APPs . Developers will not download and compile whole android for just having a dynamicly linked strace .
Another thing , why most of you are saying its a well-known/popular linux utility ... , did I say it is not ????

But that's something that's popular to do here, a lot of people download the sources and compile the ROMs they run from source. Additionally, this is probably included in every custom ROM out there. My CM10.2 install has the utility built in.
There's no need to be defensive, the RD that's replying to you is just providing links for more reading. The better informed the users of this site are, the more cool stuff we'll see in the future.

This does not work on X86 based platforms.
There're quite a few blog posts on the net about compiling strace from source.

I've created a precompiled tgz package that you can extract into the root of your filesystem and it'll put strace into /data/local (i.e. /data/local/bin/strace).
