My wife is really loving this theme! She does have 4 suggestions:
1. Make the locked screen button pink instead of the redish color.
2. In the Call log of the dialer, the phone numbers for each contact show up as orange. She would like them changed to pink.
3. Make the clock pink in the status/notification bar instead of the current grey.
4. In the default browser when you load up a webpage, she was wondering if the bar that shows the webpage loading progress could be Pink instead of orange? I told her this probably isn't possible, but then again it might be. I have no clue
The locked screen button color changed is the main thing she wanted, let me know if you need screenies for any of these. Your theme let me convince my wife that she should root her phone to customize it further, so thanks again!!

Haha, I figured you would need them. I was trying to take the lazy way out. Sorry I got a little scribble happy on the call log page, let me know if you need me to do it again. What phone do you have? A fascinate? Pretty nice of you to do this without owning the phone.
I just forgot a couple other things she told me. And one thing I think would be cool...

This is my first mod for android. It is for the EVOlved Classic theme, but may work on other themes or stock for the classic. I pulled the files from EVOlveds theme but I have not tried flashing it over other themes yet so, as always, flash at your own risk, what works on my phone may not work on everyone elses. This is a flashable mod thru recovery, wipe cache, dalvik cache, repeat i wipe everything 3 times unless I am doing a clean install then I wipe Everything except SDcard 5 times in AMON RA i recommend AMON over clockwork never ever touched clockwork so can't even tell you how to flash from that recovery sorry. Donations are not expect but deeply appreciated, especially with only my wife working and me being a stay at home father. If you feel like donating check my profile til i figure out the rest of the forum and setting all my stuff up on it, so bear with me. As always flash, enjoy and have fun!

colorized widgets not colonized damn auto correct
here's a current screen shot with gingerdroid new clock from fw and the glass rosie included in the sense theme it has 4 style rosies black, glass, blue carbon and stock with th option of apps or phone in center for each and about 24 icons for either side

The one with the sound profiles is elixir 2 and all of its add ons with auidomanager pro profile shortcuts added to it instead of the desktop the one with the power button and flashlight is a widgetsoid 2.x notification toggle with a combo of quick toggles and short cuts i added shootme to it now for fast ss of my themes I used the color filter option in notification themes under global settings and it colors the icons as close to the icon colorscheme as possible while still keeping their detail

The widgetsoid 2.x has the alternative icons on it I paid for em to help support the dev that has been one of my longest lived and favorite widgets. There was a time when I had atleast one widgetsoid toggle per page plus the drop down when I used to have it set up to use a diff home screen with a diff wallpaper and clock and all the homescreens looked like a home screen. Now I'm using a live wallpaper that switches randomly to one of the wallpaper folders I select every 30 mins. I have my wallpaper sorted in folders by color or one just called wallpaper that has random stuff like multi color bursts,ppl etc so I can choose one to match my theme at the time always red blue green or black I think my next theme may be murdered out all black on black with a lighter grey text so u can read may make same one in 2 options light txt and a stealth version with dark txt so its hard to see without being right in front of it

For anyone whose curious I had to look it up again (brains fried from no sleep) the live wallpaper I'm using to change my wallpaper is called "live gallery" and has lots of options for speed of change how random random really is or if u wanna view em in order I believe u can even set it if you have enough images to not reuse the same image for a certain amount of time like I have 600+ wallpapers and I could set it to not use the same image twice in 48 hrs for example

Two things, I flashed over fromEclipse - Star Wars theme to CIWYW so I clear both caches and flashed thenew theme.
1. When the TN boot screen comes on I hear the R2D2 sound effect, and
2. The Android Market icon was initially blue, but when I backed out of it it turned to green and stayed that way.
I was hoping not to do a full wipe, did I maybe miss wiping something else along with the caches?
Strange..the r2d2 animation should have over written the TN animation. I did not include the blue Trans market in this theme, you will need to reflash the transparent zip. Make sure you delete the other market first. I'm on a big gig this weekend, so I'll be out of touch, but will try to check in as time permits

Well Bill, I screwed up. Wiped the boot thinking I would clear... well. I wiped everything. I'm getting pretty quick at setting everything back up.
I flashed TN Stock Rls 5, then CIWYW. Everything looks so cool. You know, GW's original wallpaper that looks like yours but with blue squares is still there and looks perfect with your theme. I can't find it in the system and when I look at wallpaper your gray one is there, but not GW's blue one. I hope I don't loose it.

I knew you'd get it eventually. I've actually got about 200 more that I didn't include in the icon pack..let me know if you want them. I also included a blank icon in the pack so you can create your own that match the rest.
As for the wallpaper issue...the one gw uses its actually part of the framework-res.apk the theme writes over that...but, I'll pull it out when I get a minute and post it up for you. Then you can have it anytime you want it.

Here is a zip with the stock RLS.5 default wallpaper and a blue market icon. Just extract the zip file and place the 2 images somewhere on your sdcard, and they are yours to enjoy forever and ever and ever.

Got a real busy weekend, but when I get a few minutes, I'll put together a star wars CIWYW add on for you guys.
man my eclipse folder is getting huge i might need one for all the themes(i have them all still from the first one) and one for all the extra mods that you have made for us(lol)

It seems they are now inverted from before the update. When I hit invert, the menus look correct, but the rest of the stuff is messed up, so that doesn't work.
How can I get my dark menus back without ruining the colors of everything else?
To clarify, I'm referring to the menus in settings and when I swipe down from the home screen.

yeah, that's Oreo's default theme. Lots of white. So what you are seeing is entirely expected and normal.... inverting the colors affects everything...
If you want to theme Oreo, you can do so, but you will need to be routed and install 'substratum' found in the play store... Oreo supports theming, but I think for now, you must be rooted (although, last I heard there should be a paid app available soon that doesn't require root)...
Also, there are lots of Oreo compatible themes for substratum, available in the play store.... I'm using a dark / pure black theme. Love it.

I still have this problem. It would be nice if Textra fixed the issue. If you go to Customize Look -> Screen Color -> Light, then the menu appears white with dark text.
But if you choose Dark or Black, then it's white with very light text.
Why can't Google just provide a setting to let us to choose either a light or a dark background for the menus? I don't want to root and I'm not going to buy a theme app. I don't want to "theme" anything else. I just want a toggle to choose either light grey or dark grey settings screens. Simple enough.

I'm sure they will down the line. theming/OMS is still very new in AOSP and stock Oreo and AFAIK, they are still ironing out support and their own dark theme...
if you don't want to root or pay a Buck or two to a hard working theme developer, than you are S.O.L.
If it is simple enough, feel free to write the supporting code and contribute to AOSP.... complaining in am XDA forum isn't going to make that support appear for u.

It's back on 8.1. If you have a black wallpaper it will detect this and theme everything dark. Download the developer image from Google. You can root it too, with a working SUhide.

My settings menu didn't go dark. Just the Google App and the notification pane. And Swift Dark is not quite there yet on 8.1
Oreo update HORRIBLE, knew in 2 seconds I would hate it when my notifications section turned to white background (you suck google) then noticed all kinds of thinks I didn't like. Apple updates made my phone worse EVERYTIME and now google is doing that. Simple stuff like changing background colors GONE and worthless stuff added to hug up the phone. Had my Moto for 3 weeks, first 2 weeks liked it, updated to moto oreo and now DON't like it anymore. I just wanted security patches not my OS screwed and ALL my setting gone, and why is this clock showing up again. all my setting which took forever to figure out and now reset back to what i didn't like, then add the horrible WHITE background garbage like the notoication window. I didn't want my nice UI screwed up. So I learned that like APPLE every Andriod update will be worse TOO. sad, don't like my new phone anymore, thanks for updating it to GARBAGE.

I will pay! I will pay a developer! What apps do this?! I will buy them in a heartbeat. I am just as frustrated as OP and some other posters in this thread.
I AM NOT ROOTED ON AN HTC 10.
I spent all morning on a deep dive in the Play Store tinkering and installing several apps, and none of them addressed the actual issue of allowing the user to choose the color of the notification shade. I can't stand the white either.
Please help.
Andromeda, it's on the app store and also probably easy to find on here. Sorry I don't have a link at the moment, I'm on mobile. But the app is about 2 dollars and works great on my Moto z2 force.
Keep in mind you will need a laptop and some basic knowledge of turning on usb debugging in developer settings. It will need to be a Linux/Mac/Windows computer. Chromebooks are not supported as far as I know at this point.
See the xda thread for more details. Find it by looking up "Andromeda xda" on your favorite search engine of choice.

I went through that whole process this morning also. I kept getting a "run shell script" error with my Mac. It's real frustrating. I didn't want to do it, but I gave it my best shot, and I followed all the videos and directions, but no one knows what to do if "run shell script" error comes up.
Didn't work out I guess. But I gave it a shot. Still is so much to do just for the option to make an eff-ing black notification shade.

I have a few I've used that are unmistakably dark.
I think the reason is because I use Nova Prime as my launcher, so the themes aren't going to pick up on that and thus change the color of the notification shade.
Yes I too I'm pissed off at this new Oreo white look I like the look of my old build WTF why can't Google give us a choice why can't we theme just the God damn color I'm really pissed off now.
I'm so pissed off as well, can't get menus and title bars or even pop-up menus to be black. It was fine back on nougat 7.0

Hi any BS4 user that experiencing it's original theme is lost and cannot recover it again. Suddenly last night my phone restart then it's theme change to BS5 theme but I cannot change it back to original one. Please help I love my original BS4 theme because its super cool. I want it back.

Hi... I have a same experience with you. But I fix it.
Go to settings - apps - manage apps - type and search themes.
Then you can see the bottom in the Middle show uninstall update. Just uninstall then should be recovered.
This is work for me.. I hope that is work for you too.
