T-Mobile Gel 'skin' and BodyGlove case reviews. - G2 and Desire Z Accessories

So I've tried both the T-Mobile black gel case, and the T-mobile branded BodyGlove Black Matrix case.
First, the BodyGlove case sucks! Slick and hard. Not comfortable in your hand at all. The build quality around the edges is so bad, that it actually keeps the keyboard from opening all the way. It leave much of the front still exposed and makes some buttons hard to access. It costs $29.99. It's total FAIL.
The basic black snap on gel case though is awesome! Fits perfect and snaps on nice and secure.. Nice to hold. Actually thinner (less extra heft) than the BodyGlove one. Almost complete coverage including buttons, yet they are still easy to find and push. Only downside, smells HORRIBLE when new, even after wash with dish soap. But the smell fades after a day or so. Costs $16.99. WIN.
There are probably cheaper options just as good, but I didn't pay full price for these, and for people not wanting to risk unknown quality of online cheapos, it's a good option.
T-mobile make these packages easy to open so you can try them out easily in the store too, I like that.
Hope this info helps someone.

I just returned my hard case for the gel one today. That hard body glove case sucks compared to the gel skin case. With the hard case the keyboard did not open right leaving the screen wobble. The gel skin is a perfect fit, was $14 less, and overall fells better ing my hands.

i then tried to fit the phone & gel case in to their "universal" Black Leather Horizontal Pouch, but to no avail.

Oh, great! I have the body skin matrix on the way, should get it in a day or so. It got good reviews on the G2 TMO forums

Umm this may seem like a dumb question but does any know of an easy way to removed the front peice of the T-Mobile Gel case? I'm having a difficult time taking it off. Afraid that I might snap the phone before it comes off.

Dont lift from the corners. Lift from the middle part of the side where it bends easily and work your way to the corners. Hope that helps!

yeah, thats the only downside to what is otherwise an excellent product. the gel case is a real ***** to take off

Also have the gel case. Makes the phone heavy as hell, but it fits well and makes it easier to hold. I also think it protects it well.

I agree. Tmo gel case here and its a winner. I have a full body invisible shield on the way but I really like the full protection of this gel skin.

I've always been a skin fan, the gel case was only going to be a temporary solution for me, but I think I'm going to continue using it.

I've been using the Body Glove Matrix for a few weeks now and am pretty happy with it! I like that there's full access to the tough pad - no case around that area.
The bit if texture from the matrix pattern gives it a bit more traction when holding it, but I could be imagining that it makes a difference.
Great case!

Now I just need a case that makes the keyboard snap and lock open and closed!

Yes, this is an old thread, but I'm curious to know what people think about the Gel Skin cases T-Mobile sells. The HTC hard shell case I purchased a while ago doesn't work anymore, as the teeth have broken on it so it doesn't stay on my phone anymore. Looking for something that protects, doesn't slip easily out of my hand, and is affordable. I've been thinking about the Otterbox case as it's between $20-25 online, but after seeing that the Gel Skin TMO case is only $8.49 how can I go wrong?
Thoughts/comments?
http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/AddOns...47c8-b549-1d00f4d04c5e&inCart=True&catCode=21

I saw the Gel Skin case at a TMO store during my lunch break today, and they were selling them for $16.99. I told one of the employees that they're on sale for $8.49 on their site, and that they wouldn't sell it to me for $8.49. WTF?
The case seemed okay to me. Quite an odd-feeling texture going on with it, not totally sold on it. Hmmm.

I used the T-mobile Gel case but the textured grip surface made it difficult to slide in and out of pockets, so I got an Otterbox Commuter case. The rubber buttons on the Otterbox are great. Even though the TMob Gel case texture gripping works well on fabrics it didn't work on surfaces.

Black gel skin case does make the phone easier to hold.
Although taking it off is a pain, literally. It scratched the crap out of my phone when taking it off, now there's gauges where the teeth were. Tmo black gel skin case kept the screen sorta loose and wobbly.
If you are okay with dust, and not really cleaning it out much and a big phone too.

[Q] Silicone (soft) case for Epic 4G?

I've never had a slider phone before, so I was wondering if it is feasible / likely that there will be soft cases available for the Epic? I really love the OEM silicone case my BB Curve 8330 has - it protects it from scratches and bumps while being relatively thin and pleasant to hold (and dirt cheap, too!). While I think reasonable people can differ, I believe soft cases offer better protection from drops (not just protecting the actual corners like a hard case, but reducing the shock to the phone as a whole).
I can see how it could be difficult to get a soft case to properly adhere to the phone, but I've also seen a few such cases for the Moment (though not very many, and not through more established channels - just isolated ones on eBay). Is this just a matter of taste, or does that type of case not work well with sliders (either because it won't stay on, or because in order to do so, it must impede either the sliding mechanism or other functions of the phone)?
I was looking for a case the other day and I did see one listed, but I'd like to see how it actually works. With a slider, most cases are two part -- the top piece snaps onto the screen, and the back piece snaps onto the back.
The top piece generally doesn't have a lot of surface area and really only protects the edges and gives it a lip so you can put the screen face down on a table or something. But because of that, you don't have a lot to work with for surface area for the case to grip onto.
http://store.cheapdroids.com/Zooly-Silicone-Skin-Jelly-Case-Orange-for-Samsung-Epic-4G.html is that soft case I was looking at.
In looking at that one and reading the description, it's not totally apparent to me that the case allows you to slide out the keyboard. It almost looks like a conventional silicone case, and perhaps you have to remove it to slide open the keyboard (which would stink). Alternatively, maybe there's an opening for the keyboard on the side, but then the back half of the phone would have to be able to slide relatively frictionlessly against the back part of the case.
I wish they had more pictures, or, better yet, that someone would post a hands-on review!
Thanks for the info though - it's good to have someplace to start!
the screen is big enough to use the virtual keyboard they should make a soft gel case that prevents it from opening ive had the phone for a while and i still haven't used the keypad
I saw a silicone soft case for the Moto Cliq in a Tmobile store.
See I want Samsung branded accessories for the Epic. Which means the belt pouch, and the gel case. Do you think any place will offer it?

Maybe so, but if I was content with that, I'd have probably kept my Evo!
When I picked up my Epic 4G this am from Radio Shack, I bought one of those soft rubberly like cases that fit the Epic perfectly. All appropriate areas are open. It is a two piece and the slider works with them in place no problem. Cost was $14.99 and is black in color.

I got that one too, then took it the hell off. My case did not slide well with it on, like there was some friction, and then the front part of the keypad got a few light scuffs from said friction. If yours fits, thats all good and dandy, but mind did not.
Yup, I just did the same, took off that
Yup, I just did the same. I took off that cover. I took a closer look at it and the nubs that snap the cover to the Epic do slightly stick up enough to prevent a smooth closing of the cover. Guess I will just have to keep in in one of those special cases or wallet like thingies for protection then.
Disappointing to hear, I prefer a softer case
I went ahead and ordered some $4 shipped case off of eBay just to see what that's about. I'll try to post pictures once I get it.

haha yeah fake carbon is a no-no. anywho, i ordred the plain black version from ebay and its exactly the same on that radio shack was offering except it was for $7 instead of the $14.99. its hard plastic but coated with rubber. i got it today in the mail, put it on and then quickly took it off. it lightly scratched my keys .. i kept the bottom part (battery part) on for now cuz i do not want to scratch the bottom.
This is the downfall of sliders
Limited case selection!
It's hard to find a TPU case or a Silicone case like the ones the hero uses.
The ones that you guys are talking about (the two piece) ones do little to absorb shock. They're plastic coated with basically soft touch rubber...

The only TPU or Gel cases that I have seen that work well with sliders and provide protection are the Crystal slips ( Ebay, Boxwave ), TPU Gel cases ( Ebay ).
I have a Crystal slip on my Touch Pro 2 and love it but it will be a few weeks before the template comes out for a Epic 4g crystal slip.

Best Case Out There

So I have this crappy Amazon $4 case, from eforcity crap.
Anyways, dropped it today in a urinal at school (whoops), and the case broke into the two pieces that it was. Pretty crappy case obviously.
Anyways, I have some money, want to get a better case since I'll have this phone for two years and so.
Case Mate Pop appeals to me, but I can't find any good comments here.
Case Mate Tough appeals too, but Pop is cooler.
Otterbox Defender is okay, too fat for my tastes.
Any other ideas? What are you using?
I'm using the Case Mate Barely There Case. i dont like bulk, and it protects my phone enough without sacrificing sexiness
I bought an Otterbox Commuter and like it a lot. It doesn't add a whole lot of bulk and feels really sturdy. Haven't dropped the phone yet, but sure this case would hold up if I did.

Ewwww? Inside it? Anyway....
For protection: http://www.otterbox.com/htc-inspire-4g-cases/htc-inspire-4g-cases,default,sc.html
I wont buy a phone unless Otterboxes are available. Period. I always keep multiple cases, and this is what I buy for protection.
For the "barely there" factor: http://www.myincipio.com/HTC-Inspir...nspire-feather-Ultralight-Hard-Shell-Case.asp
These are very nice and extremely thin, but offer no protection for drops and bumps, besides scratching from in-out of pocket, etc.
These are better than the Caes-Mate barely there (imo). Nicer texture and quality.
You already know about the POP, so I wont go into depth there, but I prefer this to the POP: http://www.speckproducts.com/smart-phone-cases/htc-inspire-cases.html
They look way better to me (but scratch easy, but so would the POP) and come in a variety of colors. I have an Atrix, and they only make black which makes me so jealous of you guys . These offer a nice combo of the "Style" "Protection" and "Slimness".
I would go with this if you don't like the Otterbox, but want protection.
You have this for a nice protective silicone case: http://tridentcases.com/product_57_73.html
They are a new Otterbox-like brand but offer a variety of colors for EVERY phone.
Most comparable to a Feather or Barely there: http://www.rearthusa.com/HTC-Inspire-4G_p_155.html
They are brand new and i'm sure if you asked, they would send you a free one in turn for a review. I love the combo of TPU and silicone with this case. I'm currently using it as my main for my Atrix (in true blue). It doesn't offer much protection, but looks great and doesn't attract lint like the Trident case would or other Silicone cases.
Lastly: http://www.seidioonline.com/category-s/5493.htm
Just look through the 3 options they offer. One for protection, one for a combo of protection and style and one for just the thin factor. Seidio has great cases. I'd go with the Active Combo if you like the POP case
I don't care much for Case-Mates hard cases. They aren't as nice as other options. I would buy a CandyShell or Active Combo over the POP, but that's just me
The rest of case-mate's offerings: http://www.case-mate.com/HTC-Inspire-4G-Cases/HTC-Inspire-4G-Cases.asp
Good luck with your decision. Hope I helped.
I have a pop and tough. Thought the tough is slimmer, it offers less protection. The hard surface does not wrap around the corner completley. Regardless, I like the tough. I just wish they made the outer shell in other colors...this leads to the pop case...
The pop case comes in different colors. This is highly appealing to me. The phone now stands out as I have the light blue pop case. No more trying to find the darn phone. With a black case it just seems to blend in almost camouflaged. The pop case is also probably 1mm thicker that the tough.
Currently I have the tough case on the phone...the pop case watching, and the seidio active/holster combo on the way.
The speck candyshells they sell at ATT store are really nice. I'm using one and it makes the phone feel very secure.

I have always used the Otterbox Defender series cases with my phones as they are the toughest most rugged out there. Otterbox just recently updated the Defender for the Inspire (previously they said it would only work for the Desire but made some modifications to it for the Inspire - their words not mine!).
Good luck!

So I have spent literally a month searching for a nice case for the Inspire 4G, I'm so jealous of the iPhone having all the cool looking cases, there's barely any for any other phone...The barely there ones are nice, but tha'ts about it.
Then I stumbled upon this one:
http://www.accstation.com/chtcdesisc06.html
I ordered it right away, loved the design, looks cool, translucent (they offer black too!) and was thrilled when I got it. It's great quality, not overly thick or bulky, the sides have a grip you have to try for yourself, and the cutouts are 99% acurate- covers the camera lens perfectly...the only thing that is a little tough to reach is the unlock/power button, but that's the phones fault- it is too recessed. The feel of it is great, and looks sharp! Best of all it's only $6.99 Definitely recommend it.

Yesterday I found this case at wal-mart (of all places) and it actually looked good, so i picked it up and love it. It's a body glove, but for some reason i dont see it on their website and it doesnt look like any of the cases ive seen at the t-mo store...

I definitely second the Body Glove case. I'm not sure why more people dont use it. I've used nothing but Body Glove cases for all my phones since the G1 and I've had the: G1, HTC HD2, HTC HD7, G2X
I've had nothing but good results with the Body Glove cases. They can be found on Ebay for as cheap as $12-$14 also.
I had great success with the body glove for the HTC Touch Pro 2. An awesome product.

The one I found in wal-mart is like half tpu and half rubber. It's only one piece altogether, but a small portion around the top edge is rubber so that the power and volume buttons are easily pushable (they feel fantastic! you feel it as if it were a real button) and then the lower parts of the case are tpu (i think).
On that back side there are some diagonal stripes but they're not so visible because it's black on black, but they come off the case just a little so it gives it a nice grip. On the inside of the case where your slip your phone in it is also rubbery, so it grips on the phone very well.
Besides this purchase I was using a standard tpu case from tpu-cases.com and a tpu fusion case from ebay. Neither of these cases did it for me, i was disappointed because the same tpu cases i had for mytouch 4g were a much better fit.
Anyway, this case is perfect for me, I love it! I can take pictures of it if you guys want, since i cant seem to find it online anywhere.

Yup thats it!
Sorry about that guys, I completely forgot about this thread and forgot to post pictures >.> But yeah, thats the case I have. My box doesnt say "grasp" or anything, so i dunno about the exact name.
This is a GREAT case though. I'd highly recommend it to those of you that are used to TPU cases. Check if they have them at your local walmart and give it a try
I second the Walmart body glove, nice case
went to two of my local walmarts, neither of them carry ANY case all besides iphone cases.

I believe they are taking them out of the walmarts the specific case, mine did....your walmarts should have other cases, I would expect you would have asked so maybe not.
I was able to do a site to store, I am not sure if that option is still working though http://www.walmart.com/ip/Body-Glove-TPU-Case-for-T-Mobile-G2X/16617184
I may like the standard T-Mobile sleeve more though, and those are going for 6-8 on ebay. I think the stock sleeve has a bit more protection for drops. If you don't mind a slightly large lip

Tired of Commuter, Any suggestions?

Ok so ive had the blue/black Otterbox commuter now for a few weeks and I did like it at first but now im just sick of it, makes the phone a little to thick for how often i use it and just has gotten on my nerves, anyone able to recommend something with about the same protection maybe a little bit more thin?
also, ill probably ship this one off to someone when i get a replacment
Felt the same way with my commuter. From what I've red its the thinnest one of that type of case. The tridents look cooler, but myself I just got an incipio feather shine and I love it. Provides more drop protection than you would think, but looks way cool
Same protection? Get the Incipio Silicrylic case, looks tons better than the Otter box.
If you want a sleeker case overall, get the Seidio Surface case, with kickstand.
Sent from my sexy white HTC One X on T-Mobile
yeah i been eyeballing the seido....hows the grip on it?, if the commuter had grip i could deal with the thickness
Pretty good, not a glossy finish and the kickstand doesn't add a weird bump like with the Seidio Active. Lmk if you want pics comparing the normal Surface with the Surface kickstand.

sure
Had a Best Buy gift card so I grabbed that platinum series case/holster combo and I like it. Pretty protective and slimmer than the Commuter for sure.
I used to use the Commuter on all my iPhones, but the one for the One X is just too hard to get on and off for me. I wanted a slimmer case that didn't leave the camera lens hanging out the back (and I didn't want to break the bank either). I found this one on eBay and it's fantastic. And only $7.95, too. The seller ships super fast, too (from California to Kentucky in 2 days).

Incipio NGP here. I like the softer feel and the decent protection around the edges. The included screen protector is rather lousy, but you can use the coupon to get XtremeGuard for next to nothing. You will have to cut it down a bit to work well with the ngp and not lift at the edges.
i havent gotten mine yet for the One X but i ordered the Barely There case by Case Logic, i had it for my Inspire 4g and another for my Galaxy S2 Skyrocket, cant wait to get mine for this phone, they are thing light and stay on, they arent going to protect from drops like the commuter but they will keep it from getting scratched to hell on the back.

Will not protect the lens cover at all. If you are worried about "scratching like hell" you might want something more substantial.
really cause the other two i have had were fine even the Inspire which had the lens that flared out like the HOX kinda sucks now ill look into another case maybe the incipio feather? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007ZT4UWI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 or this as from the pictures it looks like it helps with the lens.

I ordered both the feather and the ngp from Incipio. Sent the feather back to because the protection was too minimal. Love the ngp so far. Not too bulky not too flimsy. The provided screen protector sucks big time tho. Incipio has versions for both hox models make sure you get the right one. Order from Incipio direct, indirect same price

I am more worried about the side of the case being so flexible. Compared to my old HTC Sensation's otterbox case which was more rigid.
Apart from that, i like the case.
I dropped mine and cracked the screen, it was seriously the smallest drop ever for a phone and still broke. Most fragile phone I've ever had given how many other of my HTC's have been used like a football.
So once its fixed/replaced, I wont be taking a 2nd chance despite hating cases.
Thought about the Incipio feather Ultralight but based on the comments, sounds like it won't offer any decent protection. Might order the NGP Semi-Rigid Soft Shell Case instead. But from the photos, does the case sit over the buttons or are there cut outs?
What are the other options as far as minimal size but decent protection? I'll take my chances breaking it again before using some bulky ugly case!
HTC - NGP
Pretty sure there is only a single NGP that fits the international and AT&T version. The case covers the buttons but all are functional. I purchased the Nillkin Scub first which is very sleek but didn't offer a substantial lip around the screen. The NGP offers good protection without being bulky. Because it's designed for the international version the cutouts don't line up perfectly (microphone and speaker) but all the buttons and ports work fine. Had to make a small cut to get one of my power cords to fit.

Otterbox Commuter v. Incipio DualPro v. Seidio Active

Hello all,
I've always only had the Otterbox Commuter as my one and only case for phones, and with them being so slow to get out the color I want for the S4, I was wondering if I should keep waiting for a bit longer or go with another choice like the Incipio DualPro or Seidio Active. I don't have any experience with either of them, so I'm wondering if anyone who has used them can shed some light (both good and bad) on them.
Thanks.

Incipio Dual Pro is horrible. Fitment is off and constantly slips on an end, exposing the screen with no lip coverage. Luckily it was free from the ATT store for me, but i wish i chose a different case from them. I ended up ordering a minimalist JL case from amazon anyway.
I have an Incipio case and I think it's great. Probably the best case I've had for a phone. Only like $25 too.

Consider having a look see at the Casemate Toughcase if you like the otterbox, its actually less bulky while providing better protection for the phone. I'm very surprised this case doesn't see more play here becuase its a truly good case and I get people asking my out of the blue what it is and where I purchased it. I've got probably a dozen friends on it now and I did nothing to convince them, they mauled and pawed at the case for a few and were sold. If you are of a mind you can quickly pull up a few reviews on youtube of the case.
I've been using the Seidio Active case for a few days now. I used a 10% off coupon I found searching Google and it came out to $31 shipped. I bought the one with the grooves for your fingers. Also has a kickstand. I pull out the kickstand when holding the phone and put my ring finger under the kickstand so I have a good hold of the phone and my thumb can reach more of the screen. Kickstand also comes in handy with the smart stay option so the screen won't turn off when I'm reading. It is easy to take on and off so I can get to the battery easily. All the proper cut outs are there and are lined up perfectly. Complaints - When typing or pushing the menu / back key my fat fingers will hit the edge of the case. I just have to work on using the tip of my thumb. Depending on the angle of the phone you may not be able to see the notification light. There are covers for the volume and power button which took some getting used to but I can now hit them without looking.

How well does that case work with a glass screen protector?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
I have the Incipio Dual Pro Carbon now as my temporary case. The rubber is constantly coming off from around the lip. You see the silver when this happens. Not a huge deal but in a drop it won't be that good. Also the silicone grabs a little bit of lint.
Seidio active... I have it on my Nexus 7 and had it on my Note 1.... Huge lint magnet, OLD OLD design, silicone can be warped and won't lay flat in some areas.
Otterbox Commuter.... I will order one of the colored models when available. Buttons were terrible on the S3 but it seems to have an improved design....Putting the case on seems to be better than the S3... Overalll good design.
I also ordered the Cygnett Workmate... It seems to cover the issues from the other case and offers better grip... I will know in a couple of weeks.

The edges of the case do come over the top of the device to the screen side but this is only the softer inner portion of the case and I'm thinking it would work fine but I do not use screen protectors so I'm not certain. You can see it pretty clearly in some of the youtube videos of the case so you should be able to make a call from that. A link is here ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7l3X7Oxgx5I and the same fellow reviews several others which might catch your interest as well.
I've included a couple pictures that show something you cant see there. The one is of my year old S3 case next to my brand new S4 case. Notice how the thing still looks new? The other seems like kind of an oddball picture but what you are looking at is the largest portion of the soft inner case and the thing to notice there is the lack of lint. While these do catch a tiny bit of lint it is very little as you can see there. I did not clean the case up, it went from my pocket to the drawer after my S4 got here.
On my S3 I have had my phone in that case directly alongside a friend who had his in a commuter case and we both agreed that this case felt better in the hand and it had a more premium feel. It also has better grip but does not hang in the pocket. He in fact is one of the people I know who ditched his case and got the Casemate instead. Now I've obviously not seen the Otterbox for the S4 yet but it appears much like the Casemate counterpart to be pretty much a rehash and I would expect that they will compare similarly again.

I bought mine (Dual Pro) at a TMob store. I totally disgaree regarding overlapping screen. It TOTALLY protects the screen via it's superb fit overlapping. Plus it has a nice "feel just holding it'. Used to have a Body Glovefor my S3. The bodyglove was on the thick side and it just didn't have the same tactile feeling when holding the phone. Mine is black with Grey...IOW two tone. Only saw it in a TMob store. Solid colors online from this link.

Man, that is some kind of funky back they have there. How does it feel? What is it?
And you said that Casemate offers better protection than the Commuter, any links to vids/proof to this? Cause if that's true, then that's a great deal. It looks like it is as bulky as the DualPro. Lastly, how are the colors with the Casemate? Got sick of all black, and that's why I've been looking elsewhere while waiting for the Commuter colors. Thanks.
Incipio DualPro
I purchased my Incipio DualPro from an AT&T store ($35 + tax) just to have something to protect the phone while I figure out what I really want as far as a case. I went in to get the cheapest thing they had but really liked the look of the fake carbon fiber which looks even better in person. But, the silicone layer is so loose and floppy that even with the stiff Plextonium frame:laugh:, it won't hold its shape leaving the bezel exposed where the fancy named frame isn't. This case had the makings of a winner.
Love this look:
Hate this:
Returned to AT&T store today!
The outer shell is plastic. It has the appearence of the knurling you see on a ratchet handle for example. In person it looks good and has a better feel than that of the Otterbox counterpart. The bulk of the case is about the same as the commuter, it is designed for protection and those who would avoid the Otterbox commuter for that reason would want to avoid it as well. That said it is slighly less bulky than its commuter counterpart because it is thinner.
As to protection there are no sure proofs, no 1000 phones dropped and here is the absolute numbers, test. You have to look at the case and make a judgement. The casemate clearly covers the corners better and has a better fit which combined with what are visibly better materials means you can pretty much figure your phone has a better chance than it does in the commuter. There is no sure thing. I had my S2 and then S3 both in the same case for those phones and while I haven't dropped the S4 yet I did have occasion to drop both of those several times and neither suffered a scratch although again no case will protect against bad luck.
In regards to the colors, I've no idea. I always go black so have never looked. Best bet might be to check the case out in a store. Its popular enough that I noticed our AT&T shop here had some on the shelf for S3s. Or if you have a case kiosk at the mall they will likely have one and you can check out the material yourself. Casemate has many other cases but I have no experience with them. I was Otterbox all the way till I ran into the toughcase which just plain out commuters the commuter at its own game. IMO
Looking at the dimensions of all the products, it looks like Casemate is the bulkiest, with Otterbox second, and Incipio DualPro the least bulkiest.
The one thing I'm not a fan of the Casemate from the pictures is that there seems to be more open exposed areas, especially at the top.
I ordered the Dual Pro case and have been waiting for it to come in.... I bought the Body Glove Dimensions case from the T-Mobile store just to have something on it until the Dual Pro case came in...The Dual Pro case looked really nice in the store but I want the white and gray one that they didn't have.. Now I'm hearing all the crappy reviews about the Dual Pro case and I'm having buyers remorse...Maybe I will get one from a good batch that will fit like a glove...UNLIKELY!!!! Anyway the Body Glove Dimensions case feels really good in my hand and looks nice however it doesn't protect anything just nice and slim.

Im not sure where you are getting your dimensions from but I can tell you from actually having both in my hand with the S3 the toughcase is slimmer. Since it appears that the Commuter is a reboot with a few minor changes just as the toughcase is for S4 I'm pretty sure you are going to see the same thing again. Also the only openings on the tough case are where the IR and headphone jacks are and the same applies on the bottom where there is no opening other than the two ports there. The Otterbox possesses exactly the same openings in their case and then unlike the otterbox the casemate piece does not have the wide open corners which are the single most likely spot for the phone to hit in a drop.
lol Sometimes you just cant let a favorite go, I do it myself. Either way you're getting a good case that stands a real chance of saving your overpriced ludicrously profitable for Samsung device so its all good. :good:

You do have to remember that those that have problems are usually the ones that take to online to complain, so just take all the amount of bad stuff with a grain of salt.

:silly: I think on the corners, they both go about it differently, Otterbox has the silicone there, and casemate has both, with the plastic outside. Bet they both have their own science reasons for doing it that way lol.
I'll wait it out a little while longer before deciding. I think my biggest concern about the casemate is that I won't like how the textured back feels.
