[Q] Full body protectors - Fascinate Accessories

So I know that there are those full body protectors out there like these, ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51izgagNKBL._SL500_AA300_.jpg
What I am wondering is if someone could scan the back part before installation and post it someplace?
After the release of the R2D2 Droid 2 I am a little disappointed that I don't get one for the fascinate.
What I am attempting to do is use the scan as a pattern to be able to make custom skins for the back of the phone using vinyl and if it turns out looking acceptable maybe even make some more (wink wink)

[Q]Do You Use A Screen Protector?

I know its been asked but just thought an end all poll would be good as I've seen it being discussed on about 10 different threads (rom threads, theme threads, etc.).
Right now Im rocking NO screen protector atm. Only reason for that is like most of you Im careful but I have some faith in gorilla glass. Dropped my Evo 4G (has gorilla glass too) face down with no protector and it slide a couple feet on the street, after flipping **** I picked it up to find a dent on the outer plastic but the screen wiped clean. So far I clean my screen daily and have had no scratches on my Sensation. But I do leave for college in a couple weeks though, Ill be getting a Zagg screen protector put on before then for sure though. I mean **** happens when your drunk (jumping off high things, keg stands, babies...). Heres what I got to say about Zagg: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16246895&postcount=19
I also rock this case: http://www.amazon.com/TPU-Cases-Flexible-Sensation-T-Mobile-Packaging/dp/B0055DZPAM
I like it more than any Ive used before ex: otterbox commuter on evo, sedio cases, full body screen protectors, list goes on. Its light, protects my phone, looks good, all the cuts are just about perfect.
So do you?! Also whats your set-up too keep your phone looking good? Post some pics if youd like, I will in a bit of what I use.
I don't use for the moment any "Screen Protector", but when i will buy it, i will buy an "Maximum Coverage InvisibleSHIELD", even if i think i will use in first just the "Screen Coverage".
I bought it for my OLD device, and it was prefect.

Yeah, I use a cheap sub-$1 one and it works wonderfully well. Doesn't alter the colours, nor the viewing angles and certainly not the ease of using the device itself (sleek, low-friction material just like the original screen itself).
I use the this screen protector and works really great. 3bucks you can't go wrong.
Haven't used a screen protector since last year when I bought/used the Nexus One.
I don't use any protectors, no need for.

[Q] A few questions from a new Transformer owner

I just purchased my first tablet, Asus Transformer, and now need something to protect it. I feel that a stand case is better than a simple case because of the viewing convenience, but is this true? Is screen protector necessary? Is stylus pen useful?
Also any suggestions on a stand case? Any opinions about the quality and fit of this stand case+screen protector+pen on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Asus-Eee-Pad-Transformer-Black-Stand-Leather-Case-Screen-Guard-Black-Pen-/130625821991?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item1e69e7dd27#ht_2363wt_1149
What is the easiest way to upgrade the OS to ICS? I haven't used it yet, but do I need factory reset before the ICS upgrade? My serial number starts with BB0, so is it rootable after the ICS upgrade? Is the stock ICS good enough, or should I try any suggested custom ICS ROM?
Your help is highly appreciated!
I got that case in a combo with the screen protector and the HDMI cable. The case wasn't a perfect fit (camera holes didn't line up properly and it seemed to slide down a bit when using in landscape mode (I put a drop of superglue on the tab that tucks behind the tablet to keep it in place)).
If I did it again, I'd spend the extra money and get the case from Asus assuming that it fits nicer. I've since gotten the keyboard dock so have no need for the case or screen protector. I found taht I was careful enough with the screen to not need to put the protector on.

Screen Protector Woes

Hey guys, I just received a generic dry applied screen protector from Amazon and I'm having some problems with it. I have 2 more so if I need to reapply to try to fix these issues its not a problem.
1) The sides of the screen protector are lifted up and wont stay stuck down due to the infinity screen's curve at the end. Can I somehow make this dry screen protector stick? I'd like not having to buy a new wet applied one since they are around $10 (if you guys can find one for cheaper, please let me know!).
2) I just applied it and it made the screen kind of fuzzy. It has kind of like the look of when you put greasy hands on your device if you guys know what I mean. Will this go away when the adhesive dries? It has already been one day since I applied it.
Thank you!
Here's a question: How much did you pay for your 3 pack?
Honestly they sound pretty cheap if they can't even stick or if you can tell it's on your phone. You could return them as defective and get the SGP ones.
I had the same issue. I'm either doing the wet application or have a nekkid phone!

And next time invest in some better quality ones. Then you should be satisfied.

I bought ZAG from AT&T, they put it on for me and it was well worth it. She did a Fantastic job.
i hate matte screen protector ...
for a dry application i think the peel on the side of the edge is unavoidable when the glass is curved ...
i might have to go with a wet application this time even i really dont want to
for wet applications - xoskins ive tried them all , best one.
Dry - brando uk ultra clear - takes forever to get them shipped but they are awesome.

Just picked one up at radioshack. At first I was hesitant to let the girl there apply it for me, but she said she was somewhat of an expert and, after seeing the fantastic job she did, I agree! Soooo much better than what I've been able to do on past phones!

The ZAGG HD screen protectors aren't bad. I personally will be waiting for ghost armor to come out with their protectors (hopefully they will). If your in an area where their is a kiosk they do a professional install and if anything ever goes wrong with your screen protector they will install a new one for 5 bucks for life.

ZAGG Invisible Shield. Should I buy one?

Hey guys,
I am considering to buy a Zagg protection for my device.
I have three options.
I keen on the 1st one "Maximum Coverage".
I am asking from someone who use it to share with me his experience.
My questions are:
1. How easy is the installation?
2. Any bubbles after?
3. How about the sense of touch of the device? Is it too glossy?
4. Any serious dissadvantage that I haven't notice?
Thank you in advance for reading that.
maybe just me but have NEVER managed to fit a shield without bubbles.
allegedly phones fitted with gorilla glass, but that wont protect against keys etc in your pocket.
no noticable difference in screen sensetivity.
saying that i still use one to protect my resale value
I dont use them. But I have done that before. Remember to turn your phone of and let it cool down for a short while so it does not atract dust and you don't get buubles . And there is lots of videos in YouTube that shows how to do it right. I have had my dhd almost for a year whithout protection and don't have any scratch still. So even without it you should be fine.

My DHD is 22 months old (since Okt 2010). A month ago, my HTC wore a new chasis (bought it cheap from e-bay). I like the cold furbished metal finish that gives me. Thats the biggest reason I don't want to wear it a plastic Zagg.
From the other hand I am afraid of drops and scratches.
That's my dellima I am trying to anwser with this thread.
I had one on my iPhone when I had it and think they are brilliant!
Easy to fit without bubbles, go for it!!
Depends how much damage you expect is going to occur. I bought one of these at best buy. It does a full lifetime warranty. But its a pain. A week after buying it I had a huge scratch in it. I don't know how. But it shouldn't have scratched so easily. Applying it wasn't hard, but you do get bubbles and corners that wont stay down. What I find best that works is to buy a cheap protector for a tablet or iPad. You get about 5-10 screen protectors for the price of a single one. just cut to fit and apply. Make sure to get the ones with the spray, it cuts application time in half. Just don't use too much or you'll get water under the volume rocker and become bricked.

I put invisible shield on an iPod and a camera screen. In terms of protection, they do their job, but I would recommend against them for a touch-screen phone:
1) it is "sticky" to the touch, your finger doesn't glide across the screen
2) it picks up dirt and grease much more than a normal protector - and is difficult to clean/keep clean
3) it's "relatively" easy to apply, since you will wet it and then just place it on the screen, and iron out bubbles with a credit card or similar. HOWEVER, you will end up with an "orange peel" finish, which looks ugly and makes it difficult to view your screen.
Instead, get a good quality screen protector like Brandon (one that will cost approx €10), it will last longer without scratching than the cheap ebay ones, and as a result it will probably last the life of the phone.
i have invisible shild on my dhd ...it's nice because in the first week when i buy my phone, i scratch him a litle bit..so it protecting your glass and you don't get that fingers amprents like on regular screen :good:
I just bought one last week from Amazon and I am waiting for it to arrive.
Thank you all, so far, guys. I 'll stay with cheap screen protectors, and the leather case with the metallic stand.
Update.
The screen protector arrived a couple of weeks ago and I installed it right away. It was easy to install and I like the quality of the screen protector. I would recommend this screen protector to other owners. I plan on buying one for my Nexus 4.
I have install the invisible shield only on display without any bubbles. This was easy. Today, after two years, the shield have protect my DHD display very good.
I would buy the ZAGG products again.

[Q] Screen protectors: cheap vs expensive.

I would like to get a case/rotating stand for my GNote10.1. ( I will be buying from NewEgg. )
Looking at cases I discovered that a lot come in packages with screen protectors. An example is. ( This one is not the particular one I am interested in. It was just the first in my search. ) I thought if the protectors were any good I would get one.
So a few questions about screen protectors.
The most major question ( Aside from whether it's better to get a protector or go commando. ) is: do you get what you pay for? I've seen some protectors $1-$3, others 3 for $5.00-$10 some around $20. One I've seen 2 for $58. Are the cheaper screen protectors ( which are usually what comes with the bundle ) not as good as the more expensive ones? We all know that expensive is not the same as high quality. ( Under my breath: Apple. )
The second question is can putting these on/using them damage your screen? Is there some tacky substance that might be hard to get off? Is long time use likely to make them hard to get off?
Third question how do they affect sensitivity? Finger use? Spen use?
Also a quick question about the case. I've seen some cases described as being for the N8000 will these be any problem with the N8013?
do you get what you pay for?
- not really. some are more scratch resistant than the other. but a a $3-5 protector will still last you a year probably. then just get a new one. no need to invest in high end ones. there are some with the whole 'spy proofing' which unless you are looking straight at the screen you cant see anything. cool, but pointless also.
The second question is can putting these on/using them damage your screen? Is there some tacky substance that might be hard to get off? Is long time use likely to make them hard to get off?
-no, my old phones used to have screen protectors for a year or so, peels off very easily once you get a corner up. no residue, just peel it off and wipe with cloth and you are ready for the next sheet.
Third question how do they affect sensitivity? Finger use? Spen use?
-no problem. im using a matte screen protector now. no sensitivity problems noticed. but an affect on brightness.
Also a quick question about the case. I've seen some cases described as being for the N8000 will these be any problem with the N8013?
dont think there is any problem. but youll have to google the dimensions to be sure.

Don't bother with a screen protector on my tablet. It doesn't get into the same dark places which my phone does.

Now I'm just curious about how, where and what you use your phone for....
he's batman...
but im just curious why a screen protector and going into dark places are related...
I bought a fairly inexpensive screen protector and have loved it. Bummed I cannot remember what kind it was in case i ever need to replace it. No issues. I have the Samsung case, so my worry was something getting between the case and the screen and scratching due to back and forth movement of flap.
