Offline voice recognition - Hero CDMA Themes and Apps

Is there an application that is similar to Google's voice actions application, but offline, for when I don't have service?

Such a nice device and very $$$$$ and they screw up like that

Hello girls and boys,
Like you, I was yesterday looking for this frantically as I have just got an Android device as my work mobile and have an old Windows Mobile 6.5 phone (Touch Pro2) as my personal mobile which runs Microsoft Voice Command 1.6 and can do quite a bit without needing to touch the handset (illegal whilst driving in the UK). I have to say; I was finding it difficult to believe that with all the awesome power of a Desire S when compared to the TP2, why is it I can't find an offline voice command application? Google's Actions are great yes, but does it REALLY need server side processing for these commands? I then came across a forum where someone suggested Vlingo and no-one really acknowledged the post. What a great app! Totally free, works with bluetooth headsets and actually does speech to text as well WITHOUT needing to be online.
I suggest you guys take a look as it seems to be a great piece of software that's pretty well written. http://www.vlingo.com

Anyone from the UK purchased MS Voice Command ?

Hi,
has anyone from the UK managed to purchase Voice Command and if so, how !
cheers
Russ.
I haven't but would also be very interested to see if anyone has, since M$ say it is available for US only- why is that, does anyone know?
Fin
Hi,
I used microsoft voice command...but it didn´t work out...many "screen" mistakes..
It only works about 2-3 weeks....after that i press the green button to phone somebody and i got a hard reset... :x
i never used it again and my mda is working fine now....
Am in the uk, i have been using the voice command since mid 2004 from 1.01 to 1.5upgrade. it works for me. Though its not perfect but the 1.5 version is a great inprovement. I currently have a cold .. tried saying the following commands "what time is it", "play pink floyd" it seems to work for me.
sometimes i tend to pronunce names or files names like the program would, so media player would be "midia pleyer" or "Gwen Stefani" Gwen Stephanie
at least i don't have to train the program
i personally recommend Fonix VoiceCentral 2.0
this program not only allows you to do what Microsoft Voice command can do, it has a feature where u can mark those program/contacts that you will use often and unmark those that you dont wish to use at all.
this will help to minimize the confusion of calling name that is close to each other.
secondly. it also allows you to record your voice for the particular contacts or programs, so that you can easily call them out.
The reason why Microsoft disallow the program to be exported to world wide is because they are trying to control the piracy, if i am not wrong
Keith
I use vocie command myself and have had no problems, no voice training and it works perfectly, quite cool just saying "Play album by blah" and WMplayer just fires up and belts the tracks out.
I use my XDAIIs as a MP3 player and have it picks my voice up even in my coat pocket walking down a busy street.
Only minor gripe is that as it's only sold in US the voice dialling won't recognise UK dialling codes (only us formats) so this means you can only voice dial numbers form contacts
Got my copy on one of those extended trials  ,if you can't get hold of a copy let me know and we'll sort something
well, if the program is intended for US, even there is a way to sort the program, it might not work well with in my country.
you know what i mean

Microsoft Voice Command

Has anyone tried MS voice command? How was it?
The link to the trial at Handango is broken. I'd appreciate someone posting the trial if they have it.
And I AM after the trial. If you've got the full version please keep it to yourself.
Thanks.
EDIT: The link is working now. I'd still appreciate veiws though.
Does anyone here using Microsoft Voice Command ? Can somebody share a full version of it? or even post a link to where i can download crack for microsoft voice command ..i'll appreciate it a lot!
You can get a 5 day trial at handango.co.uk
It's awesome.
Full version anyone?
i already have the 5 day trial for the microsoft voice command and indeed awesome ,does anyone here have a fullversion of it ? or even a cracked one? so we can enjoy the full program with out any hassle
Yes, Handango have loads of them £24.99 each.
If the software is good and does what you want then go buy it.
This site is a valuable resource and distributing illeagle s/w is a sure way to spoil it.
I have been using MS voice command for one year now. It is a great software especially the phone support. You can dial any phone number by speaking the number or any name from your contact. The problem is that if you are outside it will pick up wrong names sometimes. Another thing is the accent. The software is designed for american accent somehow.
Other than that it is a great software and perfect when driving. Another advantage is if you use your xda for listening to mp3 music files. I have hundereds of songs on a 1 GB SD card. I will speak the name of the song and it plays in WM player. You can also speak the name of the artist or the album.
I hope that helps.
MS have released a UK version of this now, although I've been using the full US version for sometime now with no problems with the voice recognition.
However the Voice dialling of phone numbers is based on US dialling codes so it doesn't recognise numbers if they are not in US format, However i Just voice dial using contact names and it works fine.
Best thing is there is no voice training necessary like Fonix ect.. and it will also control nearly every other Application via voice as well

Voice Dialing in WM6 ?

I have a used HTC 8125 with a cooked WM6 by mfrazzz XDA 10.1.0.811
I did a search in the forums but cannot seem to find a clear answer on this question.
I am technical but not with phone OS or devices so much.
My online Documentation for the device clearly shows Voice Dial functionality but I cant find it in the device. I see online that M$ has Voice Command app but no mention of the functionality without that. Did they remove it? I don't want to pay for stuff I don't need. ATT says that I have to pay 4.99/month for them to turn it on. That sounds like bull to me.Can anyone tell me what the real story is on this? I've spent an entire Saturday morning searching and I could be playing golf.
Thanks so much in advance from a N00b!
defaultly windows mobile dont have voice dialing
there are 3th party programs which provide it
some devices could come with such programs preinstalled
not sure if there are free options though

Tellme for wm6.5

hi,
just saw this software that will be available for wm6.5.
its a voice activating software (sent texts, make calls etc with voice commands)
www.tellme.com
i think its a sub company of microsoft making it.
it says its going to be available through wm marketplace for wm6.5 phones, but cant see why it wont run on other wm OS's.
anyone got a beta of the software? or any other info
Nice site.. Lets wait and see how nice the program would be..

you can search the net for items and places with a voice command (eg. starbucks or ipod etc)
u can also write texts and send them using your voice.
i think it is the evolution if the ms voice command software (microsoft trying to interwine software together and changing the name so that it seems like something fresh and new).

Read the link it does all that and more.
Are MS ever going to release this then?
TellMe was (I believe) a separate company working on this snazzy voice control software, and I believe MS snatched them up to use as a replacement for MSVC going forward.
"Tellme" is certainly a snappier name than "Microsoft Voice Command." It actually looks like Tellme combines MSVC with the voice controls of the Bing app. I wonder how much overlap there will be.
Tell Me is part of the Samsung Intrepid WM 6.5 ROM. Would be great to be able to install that on my phone. Anyone up for the challenge?
hmmm would really like to install this... any1 with an interprid that would let someone here get the app. dont kno how its done but im sure the smart guys here do

Ditto.
Would love to get my hands on that cab.
TellMe
Tellme's primary business is in enterprise IVR systems and Voice enabled CRM and such. The TellMe Mobile apps including the WN6.5 client and the BB client as well at the 555-tell all agregate the voice samples collected during use to make the voice recognition part of their software more acurate and reduce the need for programming.
Seems pretty ingenious and gives Tellme a huge chance to be a great voice app unlike some apps that leave me screaming at my phone like some crazed person. While it again dials some completely random number from my phone book.
I hope that this exclusivity for the intrepid is short lived.

Dont I wish....so for just reading the site abunch goping for someone with access to the right phone.
on a seperate note all these exlusive deals tick me off. They should just post the app in marketplace and be done with it.
All we need is a ROM dump from the interpid, and we should be able to pull it out and create a cab. However, the phone isn't available yet so we will have to wait a bit longer.
Someone with a Samsung Intrepid needs to port it for us.
yes please
You can get it now, well according to their site, however Im in the uk and thus I dont think i will work for me!....
http://www.tellme.com/you/get
How frickin' insulting!!! Right now, on AT&T, T-Mobile & Verizon it's only available on Blackberry devices! And on Sprint, it's all Blackberry except for one WM device - the Intrepid!
WTF, Microsoft?!
Package here.It doesn't understand a touch screen, but it seems to work.
Hey guys, since I'm such a 1337 H4x0r I managed reverse engineer the installer from PPCGeeks to find out where the installer got the .cab from. Well, it paid off and I found the .cab straight from the site, and you can download it from: http://m.tellme.com/windows_mobile/TellmeSamsungIntrepid3515.cab. It still doesn't work on my Rhodium, but I figured I'd post this anyway, so you don't have to go to download from PPCGeeks or if you wanted a .cab file instead of the installer.

Has anyone found a good speech to text/text to speech application that is compatible with the HD2? Some friends have had Vlingo but it is not compatible with the HD2. Thanks

I guess you have WM running? On Android you can use its buildin speech recognition.
For Windows Mobile you should have Voice2Go. I 've never used it, but googled on 'Speech recognition for Windows Mobile' and found this. Looks pretty good.
