Hi,
Great news for all the spica owners out there. We have a working froyo with sound (great thanks and respect to Leshak over at samdroid).

Leshak u rock man!

Leshak is Awesome.
Can anyone explain me if its faster or better then the samdroid turbo?

froyo is faster than eclair and the intial reports by users over at samdroid say it is faster and also samdroid turbo (frozen eclair) is a mix of froyo libs and hence froyo will be faster or equivalent to samdroid turbo.

Video...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8ji6ybNAg4

it's a great news for us LeshaK is the mage lol but can 2.2 set the proxy?

This is awesome, looking forward to the "all-working" release. LeshaK u rock!

I'm somehow afraid we will never see 100% working and stable FroYo on Spica. There's much work to do and only few developers.
Anyway I look forward for it. As for now my device lags in UI and simple 2D games. That's something I can't stand. Where's the power of 800 mhz CPU?
I hope Froyo would change it. Anyone knows how games are performing? I mean Drop, Air Control, Hyper Jump, Abduction etc.
The first one runs very fast on Samdroid Turbo V7, but when stars show up, there is a lag. Sometimes even for no reason.

dude at samdroid tom3q is working on a 3d driver and the progress is good.

Leshak released an update ..link is the same...

[ROM] "Android 2.1 for 32B" - No A2SD - Fast and Stable [15/04/2010]

There will be no more updates for this rom now as I have moved on to the HTC Desire.
______________________________________________________________________________
Here's an Eclair rom I built specially for the 32B Magic / myTouch3G. It is built from the Android 2.1 source that was released a few weeks ago, and has a kernel built from Cyanogen's kernel sources for Eclair (sources here).
This rom does not support A2SD. I've always found it frustrating that almost all 32B roms require the ext3 and swap partition on your SD card. The Magic does not need A2SD in my opinion ... and getting rid of A2SD and swap on sd cards eliminates the slowest link in the chain. With a bit more optimisation this could be a very fast rom.
Visually this is almost completely stock, if you like nice themes and graphics for your roms I would suggest MetaMorph, and browsing the Android theme section.
This is a completely new rom to XDA, not anyone elses work rehashed. The 1.5 rom does contain Firerat's kernel though
Big thanks to dferreria for pushing my build process along in recent weeks!
Complete with:
- Root privilage/superuser
- Google Apps
- Big APN list
- Busybox
- Android Market working
- Camera and bluetooth now working
- Live wallpapers
- Support for wired/wireless tether (wired tether apk included)
- Automatic swap (if a swap partition is detected)
- Auto CPU scaling (overclock to 528Mhz)
- Home app locked in memory
- Beautiful music widgets (from cacheinjection)
- Working YouTube and 3D graphics (currently in 1.5 only)
This is a fast Eclair rom, everything works (apart from the snag list below).
Snag list - what doesn't work
- On first boot, make sure you select "com.android.provision.DefaultActivity". I'm working on a fix for this.
- Camcorder not working (doesn't work on any Eclair roms)
- Force close in contacts app (reported 02/02)
- Some market apps not appearing. Use Market Enabler which is included in the rom.
Requirements
- Engineering SPL
- WIPE before installing this rom
- A swap partition on your sd card is recommended. I'm working on automatic swap if you don't have a swap partition set up. I recommend 96Mb
Disclaimer
I don't really think this needs saying, but I am not responsible if you brick your device. Make sure you know what you are doing! Read >> Sapphire hacking wiki <<
By the way this is not compatible for G1/Dream ... but G1 users would probably not want it anyway without A2SD
You now have 2 choices ... READ this before you choose
If you want a fast and stable Eclair rom, then 1.4.2 is for you:
Download (stable): > st0kes-v1.4.2 <
My 1.5 roms are unstable. The have 3D acceleration but also a few strange bugs, and I really would not recommend it.
You have now been warned, please don't ***** about it being unstable in the thread, I already know.
Download (experimental): > st0kes-v1.5.1 < <-- Updated 14/04/2010
Thanks: bcrook for getting my build off the ground, cyanogen for cm-kernel sources, radix999, dwang for inspiration, ncommander for camera driver, ozjd for AOSP source guidance, Firerat for kernel in 1.5, dferreira for help and advice
And of course everyone on XDA who made 3D graphics possible in Eclair.
A few kind people have surprised me by offering donations, if you would like to donate I will graciously accept, here is my paypal link. The money will probably go on coffee to keep me going at night.

Nice work fella, couple of questions, you say its 2.1 so does it have the new n1 launcher, new gallery, live wallpapers etc?
None of those things yet mate, I'm still in early stages and taking baby steps.
I saw hero_over had ported the n1 launcher to the Magic, it didn't look usable though.
I will have a look at live wallpapers though, but I'm not sure if the Magic hardware is capable or if they will just slow things down too much.
sounds good.
does this have full exchange sync? (mail, contacts and calendar)
does it matter what engineering SPL is installed?
Works like a charm! Very fast!
However some hardware does not work
- Orientation does not change
- Camera does not work ( looks funny that checkerboard ;-) )
Really want live backgrounds and the new nexus stuff!!!
Keep up the good work. (just ditched cyanogen ;-) )

Exchange sync for mail and contacts only, Android does not natively support Exchange calendar sync yet.
Not sure about your spl question. I'm using Haykuro's spl.

I know about the camera, there is a driver which I'll put in the next release.. Didn't know about orientation though, I'll check into that!

I think I know what your problem is. Fixed in next release.
Looks like I should have installed this in my rom with the Maps.apk from the milestone dump.
Music app not working
First of all good job! This is the first eclair ROM running decently enough to be worth keeping.
The only problem I'm having is with the Music app, getting FC every time I try to open it. See attached logcat and let me know if you also need traces.txt
Thanks,
George
PS. Running this on a MT3G
HBOOT-1.33.2005 (SAPP30000)
Radio-2.22.19.26I
Maps and Music bugs are fixed, download link in the original post.
Probably won't get much time to work on this for a few days now. Bluetooth & camera are the next things to get working.
Ill wait to try when the camera is working, hopefully by then they graphics drivers etc will be released too. Its great to have a 2.1 rom only for 32B, having a rom taylored to our device rather than the G1 should hopefully result in a better rom.
BTW, have you seen openandroid on the G1 forum? how about collaborating with other sapphire 32b devs to get produce a sick rom?
Great Rom!!!
Can i just say great start to a rom, i was shocked how quick it was, and we re-download the newest rom will this have multi touch implemented?
Thanks for the feedback. Multitouch is supported in this rom, you can download Dolphin Browser from the market if you want a multitouch browser with pinch to zoom.
I would be happy to collaborate to make a 32b rom. I'm frustrated that all 32b roms use apps2sd (in case you hadn't noticed that already) ... Personally I would like to see more 32b roms that are aimed at getting the most out of the HTC Magic hardware, rather than being Magic/G1 compatible.
Only thing is I am a bit of a newbie dev and I'm learning all of this as I go along. Not sure if I could offer that much in a collaboration, although it would be helpful for me to learn from others.
As a new user of the Vodafone UK HTC Magic i'd also love to get my unit upgraded to 2.1 with multitouch support. It's a cracking piece of kit and having been an iPhone 2G user i decided on the Magic due to it's hardware capability for multitouch.
Feel i may have made a mistake in updating from the initial 1.5 software to a recent 1.6 update.
Is this likely to have crippled me from being able to upgrade and root my phone?
I've got the camera working using Ncommander's camera driver source code. Will update my rom in due course (hopefully this weekend).
essex_chris: might be best if you start a new thread for this in the Q and A section. But basically you should be ok, the perfected spl is still rootable by various methods

In reply to essex chris i just wanted to let you know i only recently like two weeks ago rooted my phone on a uk voda HTC Magic 1.6 and using the cyanogen method rooted my phone like a breeze and have been using various roms since
Okay i used this rom for one week now. And i must say: it is the fasted rom i've ever had on my HTC Magic! Very good work, will update to the newest version today.
However some things dont work properly:
- Cant get GPS fix in google maps, does the gps sensor work?
- Playing video works, but i have artifacts on my screen. There are black lines, and sometimes the screen is completely black. So i hear the video sound but cant see the video properly.
- OpenGL games run very slow, is the openGL stack somehow very slow?
I will check if these things are fixed in your new version.
B.t.w i am a developer myself and doing android development, however i would also like to get into rom building. So maybe i can help there? I dont have a lot of time because of my fulltime job.
Anyway, keep up the good work! Thanks a lot!
Hey st0kes hows the cooking going? just added qteks modded lwp and it works great. How about adding it to your next rom? Heres the download link.
http://www.4shared.com/file/212147648/6c17e579/LiveWallpapers.html
I just put it in, and i gotta say; not that big difference with Android 2.1
And not that fast either, actually i think cyanogenmod is faster... :/
But I will keep testing it for a few days and see what it can do. After all, it's nice to have the latest of the latest!

[ROM]SuperCSDIv4 by MLIGN- one of the FASTEST Donuts till date!!

- for those who dont like to see anymore Donut ROMs - I am so sorry
- for people who believe only Donut is good for their G1 - it's time to rejoice having a Donut again
- This is NOT my ROM, I am NOT a Dev...I am sharing from MLIGNs Modification of the [email protected] ROM CSDIv4
- since many Devs are posting CSDI-variants in the Forum, this should easily be another candidate....the reason is simple: its the most stable and fastest of all the other Builds of CSDI so far
Credits:
[email protected] - the creator
MLIGN - the Modder
ChrisChavez - the first notifier about the Mod
Features:
Working APN
Fastesttttt, "Was getting up to 2.326 on Linpack with this ROM compared to 2.309* SuperD 1.9.3. Also awesome 3D scores although I don't play and 3D games on it. Didn't have 3D on SuperD as I was running ramhack."
- synaptic_d
*some people reported even lower FLOPS for SuperD (2.273 or so) inLinpack
No Maps, Install it by urselves
Two Themes - white and Black, changeable from built in Metamorph app
Fixed Keyboard for English
QuickBoot
NO RAM Hack, still faster than anything!!
SWAP from SuperSetup
COMPCACHE from Spare-parts
BT File Transfer
Estrongs File Explorer
Supersetup4
JrosMetamorph (no need for andexplorer)
wired/wireless Tethering
Fixed everything that caused CSDI to be unpopular ;-)
Most stable Variant of CSDI
Application response is tremendous fast
DL Link & Video Review of this ROM by Chris, also he posted this ROM first in the CSDI thread...sorry Chris...I thought It should reach more people!

2. Espresso Theme by nephron (thanks man) can be found in his thread here
3. ADWone theme has also been reported to work with this ROM with no Problem, get it here.
FAQ
1. My BT headset does not receive audio from the Phone, what's wrong?
> it's a known Bug with this ROM, No fixes yet but you can always try enabling 'Special Bluetooth' from 'Supersetup/Special Options' and/or try this fix
2. I can't seem to find my EXT partition to install/restore applications to, why?
> There is an Option in Supersetup/Options/APPS2SD and LinuxSwap/ there you can enable Apps2SD. Also pay application can be made available from there.
3. My phone crashes after I set some profile in SetCPU, what can I do?
> Domt use Set CPU, use CPU Options from Supersetup instead.
4. I dont Like the Theme very much, any Idea?
> use any metamorph theme through JrosMetamorph application built-in with this ROM. OR use the themes attached in theme section (Above)
5. Sometimes returning to Home screen takes ages, what the hack?
> Could be some bug associated with the better terminal app, try removing it and use another Terminal Emulator instead.

did u maintain the basics.?.. Just asking,
full wipe and then flash....should work fine....
I have Apps2SD functioning...
Higher MFLOPS values doesn't necessarily mean an all around faster ROM, as I was easily getting 3.6's on FastTest with JIT and the RAM hack, any CSDI based ROM is going to be faster than SuperD even with JIT and the 10MB RAM hack, yet CSDI has yet to reach MFLOPS values above 3.0.
Flashed, and it honestly feels just as snappy as zachattack052's Beta ROM (which had the APN and keybaord fix as well as Brut's mod'd google maps) Good job on the fixes, MLIGN.

No apps2sd
Ok so I did a full wipe and my sd card is already partitioned. Flashed this rom. Now the SupSetup v4 app won't run on my device. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still the same problem. No apps2sd for me on this rom?
u gotta go in to supsetup and do it threw there its an option...then check it then restart
Blazing fast on the g1 ~ coming from latest cyanogen.
But im missing eclair browser, clock and mt
My report
The most amazing thing about this rom....
its not capable of running Jit due to the lack of Eclair in framework,
and it doesn't have ramhack, don't think it's capable of that either, but probably could be done,
and yet it still defines itself to be the fastest donut of all! Without all the memory hacks, amazing. Even more astonishing for the 3D game lovers.
Aside from linpack or speedtest scores, This is down right the fastest rom I ever used, including the multiple versions released by all the devs who edited it to their own flavor (zachattack052,domenukk, to name a couple)
So big ups to this thread, as I love to see another version of it has been docked for my collection of downloads
For those of you who haven't tried it, you really should...if you like the level of speed from fastTest(superfast now) and Super D...then you will absolutely fall in love with this one.
I get a 3.596 flop using Complete Eclair 1.2 ... and this is a donut rom and only gets 2.326?
Either way, its good to see people still updating 1.6 roms for historical purposes.

Complete Eclair uses Jit...and feels nowhere close to what this rom feels like (speed, smooth, snappy).
But that is usually how it goes when comparing 1.6 to 2.1 on a G1. I hope Wes G (OE 2.0) can change all that.
Complete Eclair CAN use JIT. It doesn't come stock with JIT to my knowledge.

LOL you are correct I was thinking SuperEclair which comes stock with JIT enabled.
But lets be realistic...you can't pull 3.5 - 3.6 consistently without JIT enabled on a G1.

using autostarts and autokiller to make it run better
Thanks
Woah you got Meltus' permission to use the paid version in it, you must be quite the man. Anyways I love your rom, been using it for a week. I can survive the battery drainage but it should be better then it is now, since I need 2 apps just for my phone to survive 7 hours. I also have some problems with speed but it's not too bad with the OC kernel.
btw, think we should close the other one, as it ain't official and the person had no permission to post without these guys' authority. Just putting that out there.
will .7 fix the battery drain and call lag? memory leak fixes? i loved this rom but i couldnt handle it after 2 days lol.
btw can you please link to the android spin forums in the OP since they seem to get the updates first?
sorry for all the questions, much appreciated! =D

Its okay
We are always listening to requests... I am just the tester but I do my best to make this rom run smoothly.
The reason for the lag is the dump we used... we have a new dump so maybe that memory leak is gone... if not then we will find it and get rid of it
Once again its CR thats doing the deving... i just find the issues and its up to all of you to report what you find just incase I missed it

i flash the overclock kernel correct?
V0.7 looks to be good. When do you think your going to release it?

iexpect 0.7 rom
i liked 0.6.2 and i dont think .7 will fall short, but do you think we will ever see Blue Tooth working on it? It seems sense roms dont ever have it.
Official mytouch rom is announced for "old mytouch". If we are lucky, it's 32b... and maybe even for the 2.x radio... but I won't beleave it before I have it installed on my phone.

See this is the way Xda shoudl be....nice organized and full of info....good job Azuske
What's the word on the update?
Glad people are still working on this. I kanged Zenulator's CDMA port's apps and framework and have Rosie and Music w/landscape support. I saw the patch for LWP in Sense too but not sure if that would work on different kernels but I'll try..
The official update I believe is for Magic 32A but the hardware should be close enough to get BT. Either way, it's a closer port.
The reason its taking so long for a new release is because
1. The dev had Linux issues
2. We are using a better dump from the original device
3. We had issues with the speed in the last dump so we have been waiting for a kernel or a new dump to help fix this without the need to overclock your device too much
Don't worry you will be happy once its released just keep sending in what u find in previous versions so we can make sure the issues are fixed and drop the beta tag
Bluetooth isn't really a priority in 2.1 sense roms, just saying. Do you want the ability to get rid of call lag or have a bluetooth device first? If you need bluetooth don't use sense or downgrade to 1.5. You could also get a new phone.
how about you get chiefz to remove that app and the reupload your rom if you want to post download links
@alan0421 Let me say this now. I NEVER gave anyone permission to use the paid version of my app in their ROMs. I will be speaking to Mods...
so unfortunatly - everything you said just made you look silly in the other thread

Is this the same one as the one in the Magic forum? If it is then I've tested it and had problems with the Market app. I can't seem to get past the Terms of Service screen. It just keeps trying to load it over and over again. I've posted a logcat on the Magic forum in case anyone can use it to fix the problem. I also had some problem with the browser that kept kicking me back to the homescreen while trying to load the homepage. Both these problems occur regardless of whether I'm on the 3G network or my home wifi.
I switched back to Super E since.

What kernel is being used in the screenshots? cuz this ROM only lets me take OC to 576, pretty smooth, i came from Chromatic 2.1 its built on the official 5.0.7 stable and is the only ROM that had a perfect fast market with no loops, problem is back in this ROM, haven't found any other problems yet though.
so far so good
using for 4 hours straight ...with 100% battery....no loss in 4 hours! That is the battery life I am longing for.
Speed? silly FAST.... faster than or as fast as Chromatic or SuperE....but this speed at such battery consumption is certainly an example of how much better these eclairs could be on our G1s.
Very good work, testing...
Using the WHITE version; Found NO problem till now....
- no market problem
- one reboot in 4 hrs (I was testing its multi-tasking ability)
- no multi-task
- Super Battery life
- tremendous Speed
- no Swap
- OC up to 576 MHz
- so many extra apps....got rid of them...only kept Titanium
Thanks devs for this ROM...will report back when tested longer

My thoughts exactly. Great rom tho. Cant wait till a stable CM 5.0.8 release
great rom
added swap and oc'd to 633mhz and so far no reboots. took out all the extra apps and added a few tweaks for superbad. rom is fast and responsive. probably gonna be my daily driver until 5.0.8
Anyone got a linpack score for this ROM? I'm gonna flash in a bit.

Build info from the original build.prop. Stock rom here (not recommended for normal users).
I removed some stock apps & Google apps. Updated the market. Redoxed & resigned. Rooted with latest chainsdd superuser. modified dta2sd. CM7 libm.so (antutu floating point fix). CM7 bash. CM7 openvpn. CM7 keyboard. CM7 gps shim. CM7 apns. Added CM7 Magic Smoke live wallpaper. CM7 Contacts, messaging & dialler. CM7 DeskClock. BusyBox 1.19 - official armv6 binary from busybox.net here. Gen1 & Gen2 compatible. Cache on tmpfs. Few small tweaks.
Custom 2.6.35 kernel with overclocking, lots of cpu governors & i/o schedulers, led notification fix, cifs, tun.ko (module), ext4, undervolting, tweaks & fixes, etc. Thanks to Burstlam & Tom G for lots of code for that. Source code here - https://github.com/John-Kenney/zte-turies-35
Most things that you'd expect seem to work. Please report any bugs. Some bugs may be ZTE's fault & hard to fix due to no source code. This is a basic stripped down modded stock rom, with few custom features, it will stay that way. Don't ask me for extra customisations, make them yourself & release them as addons in your own thread, or just use CM7.
Usual disclaimer applies, no guarantees, I'll just laugh if it breaks your phone, etc.

Cool - the story called "GSF" still goes on - I'm impressed.
After several weeks of being completely satisfied with Elitemovil's ROM, I wanted to try yours. And I have to say: well done. Everything seems to work as it should.
Calls, Sensors, WLAN, USB are working. No bugs so far.
The GPS fix lasts some time but that seems to vary in general - just a first impression.
Stable and smooth from what I see.
Thanks for sharing this new version of GSF.
Edit: Hmm, no overclocking? Didn't you say kernel with oc? And Antutu's Benchmark gave 200 points less than standard Moldovan or Elitemovil. Do I need to change some configs?
There is overclocking support in the kernel, you just need to use an app like nofrills cpu or setcpu (not included) to enable it, or edit a config file in /system/etc/init.d
Antutu & other android benchmarks are poor, not really worth paying any attention to. It might even be a feature that improves the overall performance of the phone affecting the benchmark, like autogroup scheduling. It could just be that you're comparing results at stock speed in this rom vs overclocking in other roms. I can't see much difference, I just got 1600 at stock speed in antutu & 1708 at 672mhz, which is about what I'd expect. It can vary randomly between different runs too.
Maybe it is one of the ZTE libs, I only replaced one for performance reasons in this (libm.so, compiled from cm7 source), I replaced more in the old gsf. libm.so from the zte rom appears to be compiled to use software floating point emulation, despite the cpu having hardware floating point (vfp)... that reduces the antutu floating point score drastically, although it doesn't have much effect on performance in reality... probably some other zte built libs were compiled with sub-optimal compiler optimisation flags too. I think most apps & games where performance is important will probably have their own optimised libraries, so it wont make any difference.
I don't want to replace too many files in this rom for stability reasons. I don't have the source code for this rom, it's closed source, we don't know what modifications zte has made. If I start using too many library files compiled from CM7 source then it could cause problems due to Cyanogen & ZTE both modifying the code in different ways. There could be some unexpected & hard to track down bugs caused by it.
Updated.
r2: Updated Market. Removed extra apps, fonts & ringtones, added them as separate addons.

Any new rom will seem to use more battery at first (or less, then suddenly drop), it takes a while to build up accurate battery stats. It seems similar to the old gsf for battery life to me. It's really hard to compare battery life between different roms & test it properly, you certainly haven't had time to do it yet.
There will be a few small improvements that should increase battery life in the next version, like under-volting the wifi adaptor & a few optimisations to make things a bit more efficient.
I see. OK then let's give more time to the rom. Tanks mate!

Overall CM7 is better & always will be. However there are still a few bugs in CM7 which are different to the bugs in ZTE 2.3.5. The camera works better in this (hopefully works on the Libra now too, but I can't test) & the battery might last a bit longer. Some people prefer the ZTE dialler & apps too.
So I just made it to broaden the choice of roms available, some people prefer the bugs in this version compared to the bugs in CM7.
Also, if I get time, I want to get Dolby Mobile working in this, taken from the skate. It might be a bit easier to get it working in a ZTE rom than CM7. That's the real reason for the rom, but I might not get time, it might never happen.
The goal is to make it as small, fast, low power & stripped down as possible to provide a base for developers to add things to & test. Also to test out & demonstrate kernel patches (mainly from other people) & other small performance optimisations that might not get accepted in to cyanogenmod, I'm trying to keep it stable & close to stock at the same time though. It's good to have a variety of roms available & it might help or push the cyanogenmod developers to fix some of the bugs which aren't present in ZTE roms. It's easier to compare with a stripped down rooted 'gen2' converted rom rather than a full gen3 stock rom, especially as the main cm7 dev for the blade has a gen1 tpt updated to gen2 phone & doesn't use windows, so can't update to gen3.
It might also be suitable as a daily rom for somebody who just wants basic stable, fast rooted Gingerbread with decent battery life & camera, if they don't want all the CM7 customisations.
As usual, great work wbaw... Will try it out tonight while at work!

Thanks for letting me know it works. I can't test it, my camera always worked.
There are different camera sensors from different manufacturers in different versions of the Blade & Libra.
Full source code for the kernel driver for the new camera in the Libra hasn't been released by ZTE (illegal, gpl violation!). Burstlam & Tom G had to piece together the code themselves. I was just using Tom G's patch before, which works for CM7, but it needed another extra patch from Burstlam to get it working for ZTE roms with a custom kernel.
First of all good to see you back and developing roms wbaw!
i decided to to give this rom a try becouse i like roms that are more like the stock one, and this far i love it!
I made a quick percentage batteryicon and black statusbar/notification for who wants to give it a try: http://www.multiupload.com/ATUFNMSZL1
