HTC TATOO or SONY ERICCSON X10 MINI? - General Questions and Answers

Hi guys, i need your help, i must choose between this two phones, HTC TATOO or SONY ERICCSON XPERIA X10 MINI. I like a lot htc tatoo doubt to its interface and because i've also tried it, but also xperia x10 mini is quicker and with better photo camera than tatoo, it is also heard that there will be soon a froyo update for xperia... this is a mess. In adition what about market place app it will be limited for xperia doubt to the small screen 2.55"?. I must take the decission by today or tomorrow. What would you choose as experienced user, tatoo or xperia x10 mini??
Your help will be highly appreciated!!!!

My suggestion would be xperia mini/pro . touch screen is good, 5mp camera with AF and flash(tattoo lacks AF), video recording upto 30fps(tattoo 14fps).
i used almost 70apps in the market(only swype not working). AGPS, good x10 uI.
no doubt this will be the best mid range android phone.
soon expecting android 2.1 update and HD video recording

Hi!
thanks for your reply, after waiting and getting that nobody replied i finally went to a shop to see x10mini in a shop. I noticed this phone is a really small one, with a really small screen also that can make you difficult to manage in the touch screen, so i finally decided to go on with tatoo i know is a bit older but i think is a good smartphone.

HTC Wildfire or SE Xperia X10 Mini?

Hi Guys,
Im planning to buy an affordable android phone this year and my target is HTC Wildfire or the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini.
For you guys, w/c is better between this two phones? I know in terms of camera and audio quality x10 mini is the best
Ive read that wildfire have some great extra features
Pls advise.
Thanks
I've been debating this also, the gf needs a new phone, but I don't know what to suggest.
The only thing that's stopping me from recommding the wf outright is the screen resolution, my magic's screen size is the same as the wf, but the wf has half the pixels, I can imagine it would look pretty ****ty.
Here's my comparison:
Wildfire
3.2" QVGA
528mhz
384mb RAM
Sense UI
No Keyboard
Xperia
2.8" QVGA
600mhz
128mb RAM
Timescape
Keyboard
My friend has the wildfire and she is pleased with it. Make sure you're OK with with the resolution

[Resolved] [Q] List of Mobiles with Cyanogen compatible

Hi everyone,
First, i'm new here, and I love this site
Second, I'm from Belgium, so if you can't read what I wrote, it's normal, I don't speak english very well.
Third, there is my question : could you make a list for me, with all mobile phones, in which i could put Cyanogenmod (and if i could root it of course). Because I'll maybe change my Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 because i saw in another forum that it's impossible to make a Cyanogen for X10, and also because X10 is very late for updates (I'm on Android 1.6, 2.2 will be released in March 2010).
Thank you for your help

Ok thank you I'm sad xD
Do you think Cyanogen will never create a ROM for our X10 ?
And if not, are there other really nice ROMs for X10 ?
I don't think X10 has been rooted yet, so I don't know if you even load a Custom ROM or flash a new image.
SE said they will get Froyo for X10 in November(?), while keeping Eclair for the X10 mini, X10 mini pro etc. In another "unofficial interview", CEO of SE said that they are planning something big, I think this is a PSPhone since Sony had failed to even announce a PSP2.
I'm guessing that the rumour was true, and SE will announce a Froyo phone that will be able to accept Sony's memory cards and Sony will allow that device to enter the PSN (same as the PSP Go's Market). This phone will be a slide / tilt / flipout with the gamepad on the bottom, where the top layer is the touchscreen and SE's 3 buttons. I'm guessing it will be plastic and it will resemble the X10 (not a good thing).
It would probably have something powerful beneath it; definantly 1GB LDDR2 RAM (or more) + 1GHz A8 processor (or more) + SGX540 (or more).
I also think it will have a miniHDMI connector like the HTC EVO 4G, for presentation/gaming.
All in all, it will (have to) be better than all the smartphones on the market including the N900/Milestone2/GalaxyS/iPhone4 and it will definantly be expensive (on-par with the iPhone4 or even more expensive since Sony is a greedy company).
If you can shell-out for it, you won't be disappointed ... the Playstation name is too valuable to stain!
Thank you for your answer Ekin, even if I didn't understand everything
But on xda-dev on the forum, I found the way to root it, but I'm not going to do it if there is no ROM to add :'(
Thank you

[Q] which is better xperia mini pro or htc salsa?

which is better xperia mini pro or htc salsa? From all aspects performance, gaming experience, ease of use, battery backup.I am going to buy soon.
Since you don't have "size" and "text input" on your list, I'd guess the Salsa is better for you. Don't rely on this though, I don't have a Salsa. The Mini Pro is pretty much useless for gaming.
Ok size does matter for me bigger better, and for gaming I think xperia mini pro has better configuration than salsa,1Ghz processor instead 800Mhz o salsa, what actually Iwant to know is that long term support, service, battery back up etc. Thanks for ur advice.

[Q] ChaCha vs. Xperia Mini Pro

Hello!
Here the price to extend 1yr contract is the same for ChaCha & Xperia Mini Pro.
The latter might be a bit better in specs, but it's plagued with that 'electrostatic noise' problem which (probably) won't be solved just by software update.
I do not care much about multimedia stuff, games, GPS...mostly need good phone, capable email client (probably we'd install K9), some Skype voip calls etc.
No need for Facebook & Twitter...
What do you suggest: to wait a bit to see what effect might software update have on noise problem in Xperia or to jump straight to ChaCha?

Well what I can tell is that I've had a Xperia x10 Mini Pro (Which probably is much in the same style) and typing on it was far from being a pleasure. I have heard good things about the keyboard on the chacha, but I can't confirm since I've never used the phone.
If really all you want to is skype voice calls and emailing I'd actually recommend a Nokia or WinMO phone with a hardware keyboard, for typing on them will sure be easier. And you also could, if you prefer android, see if you can afford a HTC Desire Z or Motorola Droid/Milestone 1/2/3.

Yeah, hearing about all the 'noise' in connection with Xperia, I'm more & more thinking to forget it.

Heh, I can say that in the beginning I was thinking about Nokia E5.
As far as WinMO, I'm avoiding 'em (similarly to Apple stuff) just on the principle.
Moreover, I'd like to able to sync my contacts/phonebook data with Linux desktop machine.
And you also could, if you prefer android, see if you can afford a HTC Desire Z or Motorola Droid/Milestone 1/2/3.

The 'sliding' mechanism on Desire Z does not look convincing to me and the latter is not available here...Moreover, they're much more expensive.
Thank you for your input.
HTC Chacha has a better keyboard.
but X mini pro has better processor if i'm not wrong. i think is 1Gbz as chacha is 800Mhz.

yay, that s it.
I can confirm this, Chacha has a far better keyboard. It also feels much more solid.
I'm no user of sliding physical keyboard because those are easy breakable so I would not buy an Xperia Mini Pro.
The resolution of the ChaCha is a little bit higher and that its an advantage in watching YouTube videos, playing games or browsing webpages with plenty of static images.
The stock rom, Gingerbread 2.3.3, it's ok but with the HTC Sense, is painful. You don't get enough free space in internal storage for instaling apps. In mine I have ~ 40 apps and the critical memory warning pops up every day. Writing an email or an SMS it's pleasing. The space withing the keys makes writing very natural. About gaming and stuff, I can tell you that Fruit Ninja and Angry birds are working great.
Wi-fi and cell network signal are good, no problem with bluetooth accesories like handsfree and the camera does the job.
You probably use the phone the same as I do. The games I play are Fruit Ninja and Angry Birds, and they run smoothly. The keyboard is totally awesome, better than any sliding-keyboard phone.
Chacha is better
I think chacha is better. The xperia has a rather small screen, which is not comfortable to type on the screen. But when you use keyboard, it is rather large~
