FootPrint - XPERIA X10 Themes and Apps

Any who knows where too find FootPrint Widget for the X10 ? -Mich.

+1 needy software, miss it from htc

you can't, it's a HTC app.. although I'm sure someone will rip it out eventually and make it work on a rooted x10.

good god theres there's already so many complaining posts like this everywhere. How many damn complainers do we need? Why not just give a straight answer?
Once they root the X10, it might be possible to port the HTC desire ROM onto the X10, which includes HTC sense. But that would also take away timescape and mediascape. But again, none of this is possible until we get it rooted.
Theres an in the market called beautiful widgets, which is HTC sense like widgets, check it out

you are right ,htc has got every thing
This is a forum for Xperia users. Since you cannot have everything on one vendor it would be good to combine the goodies the others have. So, Sense is nice but HTC phones are not the best maybe

i love SE X10 esp the design and i like HTC sense UI as well but i don't like its design..
having an android phone means we get to explore it isn't? liked htc sense ui does not necessarily means we have to buy htc does it?
Heres what you can do
Get the latest ADW launcher then after set it up like sense, THEN download the HTC Sense theme from the market. This will give you the "leap" preview thing and much much more.
For the clock weather thing download beautiful widgets, or an older version of Fany Widgets. Just Remember to ignore them if your going to use a task manager.
Fany widgets sounds amazing

I agree and the reason I don't go for HTC Desire is because of the design and outdated camera.
HTC Desire is like any of its other phone like Legend, Tattoo etc and it is still a 5 Megapixel camera and in terms of Android phone, SE has a better camera beside Motorola but it as a slow processor over X10.

Yeah! What, do you think this forum is for hacking phones or something? Sheesh. Use your device with its intended functionality and don't even THINK of changing it!
I think it'd look great with sense, but really I'd like to have sense on my x10 cause sadly htc phones are not sold in Mexico
so really is not like i don't want to get a htc is just that I can't
buy htc
better than SE

Whatsapp for android 1.6?

Do you know if anyone is porting whatsapp application to work in android 1.6?? I know pingchat works for us, but all my friends with bb and iphone are using whatsapp
Sent from my U20i using Tapatalk
I think you have to wait till the update, searched the net for a while myself and could not found it for 1.6
Sent from my rooted X10i using tapatalk
i believe its 2.x and above only
i wish it was possible to have it on 1.6, i begged there development team to make it for 1.6 up but as they are a iPhone development team they just want to do things the easy way.
X10 OS 2.1 is pushed further more until October or the end of October. I searched online via Google and found that info, thought it may be useful for some.
thanks for sharing
cheers
R u serious? They only care about Iphones? But this is going to suck for all us x10 users..who KNOWS when this 2.1 update will be!! Is anyone able to get it to work on a root x10? I want Whatsapp so badly!!
I can only add my voice to everyone else's. I really want WhatsApp so bad and I wish someone could port it to 1.6 sometime soon. I really think Sony Ericsson haven't done themselves any good by deceiving us about this 2.1 update. I'm not really a developer,so rooting my device is kind of out of the question. had it not been for that,I would have done so,just to get WhatsApp

Rooting your device has nothing to do with what software is available with respects to the version of Android you're running. If the app you want requires 2.x or above and you are running 1.6, rooting will do nothing to fix that.
To those people who says X10 out of date OS does not matter, this is a perfect example of problem encountered.
Even if we update our X10 to Eclair in Nov, programs that requires Froyo still cannot be used.
I think it is time to move to a handset with the latest OS. Anyone can comment on which brand has good firmware support?

It is an app that allows you to message people, a bit like BlackBerry messenger, except it works on iphones, BlackBerries and any android v2 or above - so unfortunately not ours yet.. :-(
Thanks xxx

What's the big deal with Whatsapp anyways?? It's any regular messenger like msn messenger that works the same and can be used on any smart phone.

Hardware specs look attractive but the battery is disappointing and they have bad technical support. Give it a try if you want as I have own numerous HTC phones and I would say about their phones, lousy quality, lousy battery life and lousy technical support.
Will use my X10 till SE launch the X12 with 12MP camera, HTC has some time to catch up with the hardware specs.

[Q] Considering getting Inspire 4G (currently use Xperia X10)

Just have a few general questions.
How much better can I expect the Inspire to be than the X10?
(just generally speaking in your own opinion)
Now more specifically.
How is the Inspire's speaker? Is it louder than the X10?
Is the bootloader cracked?
Has anyone managed to get Gingerbread on it?
Do you have CyanogenMod already?
App2sd and JIT?
xRecovery?
Multitouch?
Flashtool?
Thanks.

Coming from SE xperia x10a I can safely assure you that it is time to switch to the HTC Inspire "4g"
It has everything your looking for except flashtools... Its fast and super zippy conpared to the x10a especially HTC Sense compared to Timescape UI... the extra screen estate is great...Inspire was rooted and bootleader cracked before day one and has complete roms ready to be flashed through Clockwork... Unlike the x10 which has incomplete roms all over the place (though it is a great dev community with J, Z, Binary, and Trip)... Gingerbread with CyanogenMod 7 RC1 ready and waiting for your flash crazy ways, although I suggest you try Android Revolution first... JIT is already enabled in Android 2.2 (we didn't have it on x10a b/c technically we're still on 1.6 /2.1)...and finally multi-touch right out of the box with no need to keep waiting for updates (multitouch not dual touch like x10a)... Battery for HTC Inspire is kinda week but not that much worse than Xperia... The sound is not bad on stock, but after flashing there is some distortion (dev's are working on a fix for this as we speak)
If you have any other questions feel free to let me know... I too for so long was hopeful for the Xperia x10a but after some frustrating months (almost a year, I imported the phone from Rogers in Canada) I'm just glad to be in an environment where i can tweek, mod, and customize my phone that I own... Thank you HTC!!! The only way I will ever go back to any SE phones is if GeoHot or Binary or anyone else can crack bootleader so I can mod the sh*t out of my phone (for some reason SE thinks that I'm just renting their devices and that they have total control over it) SE futures phones like the Arc look sexy but after my experience with the X10a I will always be hesitant before picking it as my next phone....
Hope this helps

So would you say it's speaker and sound quality (stock) is worse than the Xperia x10's?
also what about app2sd?
How are the quadrant scores after CM and all the tweaks?

Froyo supports installing apps to SD.
Quadrant scores around 1700-1800 stock and all the way up to 2600-2800 fully tricked out and overclocked.
No, speaker on stock is better than x10a... i meant after flashing custom kernals the sound is not as good as the orginal stock...
On Android Revolution HD i'm getting 42.772 MFLOPS
and on quadrant with the processor oc'd to 1.2 i've been averaging around 2400-2700
Spectacular! Then I'll rush to AT&T and pick one up first thing tomorrow morning.
Thanks for all the help guys. I gave you all a "thanks" and I suppose I'll just post here in case I can think of anything else I'd like to know.
Ok one last quick question before I buy it.
Does it come with a stock screen protector pre applied like the X10 or should I buy one immediately at the AT&T store?
No pre-applied screen protector, so you might want to pick one up... the inspire screen does like fingerprints... lol
Oh and the Inspire casing is a lot more solid than the plastic-y feel of the x10a, but you still might want to a protecor as well
Good luck and have fun
No screen protector.

[Q] disabling sense or rom without sense

Hi there,
I told my mother to buy a Desire S because it had reasonnable specs at a fair price. However I feel bad about the Sense UI that adds complexity and small fonts. I have an HD2 with a Nexus One ROM and could help her much better if she had the Google 'customization'.
So is there a way to disable/remove sense? There is a known trick for the Desire that does not work for the S. Or is there a rom without Sense? I have not seen any in the dev forum.
Thanks,
Jerome.
You can just download LauncherPro or Gingerbread Launcher or any other launcher app from the market
But if you wanna disable Sense completely I don't think there's rom of pure Gingerbread yet ..
Launcher pro would definitely not do anything to simplify things!
I think something like the titanium roms that were available for winmo
6.5 et al would be good. Stripped down and simpler to use without Sense, also faster imo.
Sent from my HTC Desire S
Well, someone can try to port an android from a non htc phone to this one.....
Thanks for your answers.
Actually I noticed some people compile the gingerbread launcher and post it on the market (there's also the gingerbread keyboard).
I may try that ...
