The Non-Original battery pack which make in CHINA used a fake value for Capacity reporting,so sometimes it will report "83%",and its current, temperature are all fake value, only voltage is true.(thank godness!)

It can't damage hardware. Because it's software.

Discharge it up to 0% and measure voltage. it should be around 3.6V.

i think the hd2 general forum would have been more appropriate for this but i guess it won't hurt anyone if you posted here
there are many contrasting views about this and you will probably get confusing answers. i am not an expert but i'll try to brief you with some info i've got from my readings about lithium-ion batteries and my personal experience, of course.
so here we go:

1. discharge fully until the phone shuts down by itself
2. remove battery and wait ~1 minute
3. charge completely with the phone OFF until the green light is lit
4. remove battery and wait ~2 minutes

some recommend to do it every 3 to 6 month
here you'll find many that recommend you to do it after flashing a new radio rom.
from my own experience i tend to agree with this

i've read somewhere that lithium-ion batteries like being charged as often as possible and don't like being left without juice. this is the main reason some people don't want to even hear about the calibration procedure. but i think there is a big difference between complete discharging now-and-then and complete discharging as a habit.
i've never heard anybody recommend a precise low level limit when you should start to recharge.
there is no danger to overcharge though.

I also noticed that my battery has bulged a bit..
if battery is bulged then it should be problem with battery ..check health of battery. u can know this from many apps in google play.
if not, then these should the due to the rom..or heavy usage..

it means that u overcharged it.. texting and browsing will not effect the battery this much.. u may overcharged it for more hours that it shud can with stand..
its better to change the battery i suggest u to not use it coz it may blast..
so purchase a new one and follow these steps for more battery life..
1) always charge the battery when the charge levels come below 20% well i suggest u to charge the battery when its at 15%...
2) and dnt remove the charging until its full that is remove the charging when it shows 100% in left side of status bar with a green logo..
follow these two instructions its enough..

[Q] Battery level has gone crazy

Hey all,
recently I have encountered a rather big and annoying problem on my phone. It has to do with my battery. I've looked it up on xda, but nothing was really exactly like my problem.
The problem is that my battery level has gone absolutely crazy.
First, charging my phone takes many many hours. After around 5 hours it still wasn't fully charged.
Then when rebooting the phone, it magically said 100%. However, after this the phone drained extremely fast. Think around 20 percent per hour, while using it normally!
Secondly, around 40 percent the phone automatically turned off, without the usual HTC logo. When I turn it on again the battery level is suddenly 2 %. After a few times turning off and on the battery level goes up to 30 percent. This can be seen very well on the pictures.
The phone is 1,5 years old and I haven't installed a custom ROM.
Am I dealing with a broken battery or is the problem in the software?
Hi,
I'm not an expert, but I think your battery is exhausted.
But before you run buying another battery...
What charger are you using? Stock HTC or custom? If custom, what are the Voltage/Current output values?
probably your battery is dying as the above user said
or the battery it doesn't connect properly
check it

While reading on some forums about a better battery for the Sensation I haven't encountered Mugen, only Anker, which has some good reviews.

I replaced the battery 3 times, still I only can use 2500-2600 mAh Capacity - help

Hello,
I replaced my old battery because it lost its 30% capacity. Then I bought 2 times original Samsung Battery and 1 time a super expensive battery from Germany.
Everytime when I test it, I use only 2500-2600 mAh capacity of my Galaxy S7.
I did calibrate my battery, cleaned the gauge multiple times, reset it. It didn't help.
I just notice that my phone charge only until 4.825 V. Do you have any idee?
Maybe a problem with the apps not the battery itself?
Those apps are not 100% accurate anyway, they cannot be as you never run your battery to 0% while the app is running
I used 3 methodes to measure it. I dont think so. How is your phones fg_full_voltage value?

What is more likely? That the apps methods are not accurate, or 3 new batteries all have 2500-2600 mAh capacity?
The apps method are known to be inaccurate so you can already forget about those results
Where is the location of that file?
There is a code you can enter to reset battery stats too
dial: *#0228#
Press Quick Start
Connect Charger so phone is charging
Turn Off the phone and leave off until battery is charged to 100%
Power on phone
Battery stats should be recalibrated
I did that already, hmm the location is /sys/class/power_supply/battery/fg_full_voltage and in the same folder 2*fg_fullcapnom shows the capacity of your battery.
You can be right with the inaccurate apps, but the apps showed me the real value with a lenovo zuk z2 and galaxz s8.That's why I'm worried

eBay only sell fakes fakes and more fakes, Amazon probably too, unless you bought an original Samsung battery from Samsung there is a high chance that all those batteries are not as high capacity as advertised
My battery life is terrible with my S7 flat, so I took my phone to the Samsung Official workshop, I thought that a brand new battery will fix the problem, the technician made some tests and he tell me that although my battery was fine with 80% wearing but my battery drain issue is caused by a faulty board.

I'm pretty sure you bought the fakes ones. Try to buy your 4th battery from a Samsung service center!
My Third is not a fake one, it has 24m Warranty and is Made in German. The problem is with phone and OS. Nougat won't let you use your all battery capacity. If you dont believe me, use accubattery you will get max. 90%.
