I confirm it works. No reg hack needed, no problems with wake up. Sound is far better in my opinion.

I'm new to this program, any help with settings to make the leo sound better would be great.
Does this work with all sounds, eg ringtones, games and through the internal speaker?

wow! Thanks a lot..

Yes it works for all sounds

Waouh ! The Famous Sector from Modaco forums with a HD2 Good news !
Thanks for the SRS WOW HD 1.5.1.0 for HTC HD2

Sensational!!!
Thank you so much.
I used to have this on my Atom.
Could never get it working on the HD.
I had to hard reset a few times to recover from bad versions.
Woohoo!!!
Just tried using the HD2 as a media player with WoW.
Sensational. Truly Basey, and clear treble.
A pocket hifi. Ipodzilla!

What settings do you guys find best! I find the trebble is too high on most pre configured settings and on the others the sound is quieter than with wow hd off

Can't get a clear sound with good bass!

I can't get a clear and good sound with my PocketPlayer when WOW is on. It sounds much better with WOW off and SoundBooster (on WinMo) ON. I listen to Rock and Metal music, so it could be because of that. I increased the first 4 bars of low frequencies in my SoundBooster, and I get a lot of good bass and perfect vocal.

I like the following settings:
sur.: 70
center: 50
def.: 10
focus:10
TruBass: 60 at 60 Hz
Setting def. and focus levels to a low value keeps the sound as close as possible to the original recordings (i.m.o.), while adding enough suround and bass to make it sound really good.

Hi All, first post, and new to the HD2 and all things XDA.... but I've loaded this app and when I go to settings, I get the error "there is no WOW HD driver loaded"
Have missed something?

You've done a soft reset before loading the settings ?

These are the settings I use for my headphones when I listen to music. Haven't played with the other settings yet. Do the settings for the internal speaker also work for the speaker of the phone during a call. Would be nice because I have noticed that my HD2 has some "overdrive" problems when someone talks with a normal volume.
For the input and output gain i use the default settings (-1 db for both)

I dont think it changes the audio output for phonecall unless you put them on speakerphone!
I have noticed that WOWHD does improve sound with your settings "slightly" when the phone is on full volume, I normally keep mine at 3 quarters so no noticeable diffrence but thanks for your settings they have been a help

Kaiser Radios for volume?

I am using Radio 1.65.20.29 with L26 Kaiser Diamond v3 (I probably should upgrade to v6 soon, but all of the roms are just excellent)...my problem is not with battery life or gps or anything like that...all of that is fantastic. My problem is that the phone volume is just too low...even at max volume.
I went to another kaiser radio thread...but it was dead apparently -_- (I didn't even see that part)? Because even though I do love the battery life, I can't deal with such a quiet phone.
Are there comparisons of roms by volume, instead of battery life, etc.,? Or is there a .cab to boost volume?
im pretty sure you can set the volume higher with shaps advanced config
sorry i checked and no dice but i know theres a reg edit for the max volume give that a search
I don't see anything for incall incoming volume. There's changes for bluetooth, outgoing, speakerphone, etc.,
the reg edit doesn't actually do anything, if you click the volume low on your phone and then reg edit it to be higher, the next time you look at the volume it will be higher, there is a max value of 5(set it from 0-5) and other than that it doesn't actually do anything. i also have been looking for a way to make the phone louder so if you happen to fiind one post the results. in the mean time i got a ROM with VC and a bluetooth headset so it rings in my ear and i never miss a call
I agree, all the threads with registry edits I've seen don't do anything. I already have volume at max...but the max isn't high enough.
Try radio 1.58.25.17
This radio seems to give me great in call volume.
Tested it with ShogunMark Death v3.5 ROM
just from calling my voicemail, it seems that there's not any noticeable increase...but I guess I'll just have to find out what it really can do when my brother calls me next.

1) The stuff in the link does nothing; adding a new HKLM\Software\HTC\AUDIOGAIN folder and the requisite entries from that topic do nothing. Furthermore, every other setting listed in that particular topic, whether already available in the registry or added, does nothing.
2) Changing HKCU\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring:InitVol does nothing.
3) THE Q-TIP DOESN'T WORK?! WHERE'S OUR GOD NOW?!?!
I really want to ask if you soft reseted But I wount.. Sec I`ll see if I can digg up some more on this. I had some radios with low sound, just dont remember wich it where atm. I am on Neon and that is one is working real good for me on all aspects exept little hard on the battery. Perhaps a full sprite and reflash to another rom could be youre way? A little tip, wait for L26 v.7. The sip is a pain in the rear on V.6.
of course, except it wouldn't let me soft reset for the qtip.
so...for roms, I want to stick with the l26, but I have two options even if I don't count v6...I could go to v4 or v5 or just wait completely for v7 (although I doubt laurentius will take out the diamond keyboard by then)
I've already changed to the neon as per AllTheWay's advice, and although it does lead to better reception, it has no noticeable impact on sound.

Hmm, tricky one.. Have you tried a equalizer? And was it that from fresh install, meaning its not a app. issue or something? But I suspect it could be rom issue for you since other radio has been tested. So, if reghack doesnt work, neither its a app issue, and changing radio didnt solve it it gotta be the rom.
Have you tried adjusting the WOW HD app in Settings -> System ?
Its pretty awesome at tweaking the sound. My phone has never been so loud!

1st link: I did
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Volume
add: DWord value name = volume
value data = 4294967295then press power (sleep) wait 10 sec and press power again.
with no effect. This does GREAT stuff to all volume EXCEPT for call volume (e.g., now my rings, system noises, etc., are nice and annoying...but I didn't have a problem with them in the first place.)
Reading further, I noticed that the setacoustic.exe solution requires rom cooking, so I'll have to try to later when I have time to tinker like that.
2nd link: Once again, adding AUDIOGAIN or even importing them from an established download file and then adding them in Total Commander, then softreseting after that, doesn't help.
3rd link: the link to post 244 of the other topic, and its advice to change attenuation, does not do anything for incall volume.
I haven't tried an equalizer.

I don't have the WOW HD app in Settings -> System. Does this affect call-volume? The rest of my phone is actually loud enough, and while a few of these registry hacks works for various other aspects of the phone (e.g., ringtones, system sounds)...those aren't what I want louder. I just want to be able to hear the people I'm talking to when I call.
Toss it in the river... I will keep an eye for a fix as it seems like there is no easy find on this issue. Must be a rom-device hate afair or something.
I briefly tried L26 v7 with 1.58.25.17, but to no effect. Since I had other problems with v7 independent of the sound issue, I moved back to v3.
Hahaha!!!

might work .. I use this method when I used HERMES few years back. not sure whether the thread still exist or not but try this settings.
in Advance Schaps Config goto "Bluetooth" and configure your "BITPOOL" settings to a higher level.
although i never try this with kaiser but i hope it'll work.

Multi channel recording studio...

Hey... I found a really cool recording studio app called Meteor
I installed the demo cab and it works like a charm (you just can't save your work on the demo version).
I'm amazed what our little phones are capable of doing. By the way... this is the first application I've seen where pinch to zoom is a real necessity. In fact... I always have it maximum zoomed and this way it's almost like a virtual desktop. (difficult to explain but I hope you know what I mean)

Not quite... Meteor is a multi-track recording studio that lets you record audio (guitar & voice for example) and process it in many ways. I'm amazed that it really works! But as I said... you need to enable pinch to zoom because the buttons are incredibly tiny!

Excellent! This will come in well handy!
Anyone know of a HD2 compatible version or something similar of this (see attached) ?
Would be really handy for doing rough mixes of my acoustic stuff!
Some nice apps on there. I just bought Chord Explorer, installed it ok but it will not start :-(. Tried re-installing on the phone memory, but still no good.
Anyone else had any problems?

I guess it would have to connect through the micro USB somehow, there's plenty of USB 2.0 mics around but I doubt they'd be compatible via a micro USB/USB 2.0 adapter?
To be fair though the sound quality of the phone mic isn't that bad for low level stuff, I'm amazed at what this phone can do!!
Thanks again for the heads up about MeTeor, excellent find!
Damn, love that Meteor-program!!! Allright, took some definite tweaking before it worked well enough to be functional on the hd2.
But now i've got a working 12 track harddisk recording system in cd-quality in my pocket....for only 30 bucks??!!!
I LOVE my HD2!!!!!
Thanx a million Tubgirl
I think the USB-Mic won't work...problem starts with drivers and ends up with 5V power-supply....
Well, the power-supply could be solved with internal batteries in the mic itself, or just using a dynamic microphone (needs no power to operate)....but drivers are probably the biggest issue...don't even know if one can even write driver software to WinMo, just like it's done to Vista etc.... ??

Well shure, I am afraid its a bit complicated. I'll try and see if I can describe it in a way that makes sense .
The first problem one might experience, at least i did on mine (using official htc 1.66 rom), is crackles, pops and dropouts in your recordings. This can be corrected with some adjustments to audiobuffersettings and the cachesize set by Meteor for your sd-card.
1. You need to find the "PREFS.xml"-file, in the Meteor directory. For me it would be here: My Phone\Memorycard\programs\Meteor\
2. You will need a browser that can open and edit XML-files, I used Adobe Dreamweaver.
3. Open the PREFS.xml and adjust the following:
AudioBufferSize="2048" -> AudioBufferSize="4096"
AudioBufferCount="32" -> AudioBufferCount="64"
ReadCacheSize="32768" -> ReadCacheSize="131072"
WriteCacheSize="65536" -> WriteCacheSize="262144"
These are maximum settings, and all in coherrence with what the manual suggests for troubleshooting by the way: View attachment Meteor_manual.zip
THE SECOND PROBLEM with the HD 2 as a multitrack harddisc recorder, as with any DAW-system, is mainly the question of latency.
(for info on DAW, check this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_audio_workstation)
Latency refers to how long the system (meaning processor, RAM, disc etc) is to actually process the sound converted (ADC), recorded, replayed & deconverted (DAC) again.
For the DAW to work properly (avoiding sync-issues between different recordings), it most know its own latency - hence the calibrating/strange beeps when running Meteor the first time.
Only thing is, that even though HD 2 is fast, it appears to have either a slow soundcard/ADC-DAC-converter or pourly written driversoftware to support it. Either way, at least on my phone, Meteor simply cannot deliver ENOUGH LATENCY, to compensate sync-issues, especially not with the above buffer and cachesettings set to maximum, not even with "Synchronize Audio Threads" under <setup> ticked (Which should be done by the way!).
There is a workaround though, but it requires you to know with what BPM (120 bpm being default) you are running during your current recording session and what latency will fit the current bpm you are running with.
The point is that you SIMPLY ADJUST the recording BACK according to your starting point of recording.
EXAMPLE:
You plan to record on track one at 120 bpm, so you set the cursor at the 1-figure at the ruler in the upperbar. you then set your latency under "setup\audio setup" to "940 ms".
Press record. When finished recording you highlight the recording and simply drag it 1-line back (NOT 1-bar, but 1/4 of a bar).
Repeat this for next recording on track 2 or any other, still keeping the 1-ruler as starting point, and you should have two recordings in perfect sync!
This should of course be repeated for every new recording...always dragging it 1-line back to keep sync.
You can test this yourself by the way, by turning on the metronome letting it play thru the HD 2's speakers, simultanously recording it. Drag the recording back, and when playedback, still with the metronome on, you should hear the recording and the metronome playing synchronized. If it is NOT in sync, you need to adjust latency, untill it is, testing with the metronome as above.
120 bpm = 940 ms latency works on my system, but I have no idea if it will work as a standard on all hd 2 phones. Problem is also, that when changing the bpm, you will also have to adjust latency. But assuming that there is some consistency thru this on most HD 2 (though rom and tweaks probably have a huge influence on this), i have here made a list of these values with what bpm = latency: View attachment Latency.zip
Quite complex instructions, hope this will help though. Welcome to ask for clarification, and I'll see if can answer accordingly
Have fun!

[APP & GUIDE]: Volume+ - Increasing your music gain & quality through your headset

[APP & GUIDE]: Volume+ - Increasing your music gain & quality through your headset
Hello guys and let us begin!
During my cohabitation with my beloved Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 , I had always one complain.
The bootloader was locked , battery life was awfull , there was no incall volume , camera gave too noisy pictures , the stock ROM was laggy , we didn't have fps uncaped...
...no seriously just one complain. I could never enjoy music being played on my headset using my mobile phone.
At this point many negative people may say that Android is not a music/multimedia platform and the hardware provided (headset etc.) is not of the best quality. Agreed! But I will answer we will have to work with what's being given.
So after using several custom ROMs equiped with DSP Manager I wasn't exactly getting the result I wanted. I had several undesired results such as:
The first few seconds of the song being played didn't actually play.
The bass was off the hook resulting in my headset playing a farty noise in my ears whenever there was a song that demanded deep bass.
I had generaly low volume resulting to not being able to listen to my favourite music while on my 3 hour bus travel every day to my university...
After some search around market and xda-developers forum I found the Volume+ application which is descent in it's free version BUT performs wonders as a paid version.
Now what I'm about to say onwards is about the paid version which in my humble opinion deserves its money.
AS THE DEVELOPER SAYS , I REPEAT TOO... THIS APP CAN GO -VERY- LOUD. I AM IN NO WAY RESPONSIBLE IF BY YOUR OWN MISTAKE YOU DAMAGE PERMANENTLY THE SPEAKER OF YOUR DEVICE.
First of we begin by setting any other equalizer stock or non stock to OFF. And if there is no disable option then we select the "FLAT" preset (that goes for stock Music player that can't disable its equalizer).
1.Then run Volume+ and chose Headset Settings.
2. Tick Speaker Modifications under Settings to Enable it.
Do not enable Virtual Room Effect. It's all about distortion imho.
3. Do -NOT- touch Basic Settings at all.
Basic Settings give some pre-made presets and none of them is good enough for x10. They all lack something and francly I've never been satisfied.
4. Tick Speaker Modifications under Advanced Settings.
That's for enabling the advanced equalizer to allow us to set each frequency channel independently.
5. Apply the following values.
Now these are the settings I use and I'm so much satisfied with them. They give me a rich overall volume , with correct frequencies.
At this point I want to say that if any other user has settings that believes are better than mine, feel free to post , share and explain!
Code:
Low: 100
Low/Mid: 120
Mid: 105
Mid/High: 100
High: 95
Volume Level: 7
Bass Boost: 8
Echo/Delay Level: 4
6. Although this application claims not to need a restart of device I strongly DISAGREE!
Reboot your device after you are done and under no reason should you kill the Volume+ service in case you are using a task killer/manager. Just add it to exceptions/white list.
So once you are done your settings must look exactly like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
How/Why:
In case you liked the result you can go on reading.
Those settings were not copied or found around the internet although I'm pretty sure anyone can Google and find something similar.
Those settings came from me and took quite a lot of my time since the whole process of "perfecting" them was listening to a bunch of different favourite songs (each song has its strengths and weaknesses) tweaking , restarting and again from the beggining. That's the best way to work with this application and needs quite a lot of patience but produces a neat result.
That being said , I want to say that my thing about music is that I'm a mainstream freak. So the songs I used to make my configuration are limited to certain kinds such as House , Electro , RnB/Hip-Hop , Pop , some slow Ballads. So for hardcore (Psy) Trance , (Death/Black) Metal , Opera listeners out there ... well guys , don't expect miracles!
Sample of songs used:
(Youtube quality has no relevance I just wanted a way to present them to you. I have those songs in full quality in my SDcard ofcourse.)
1. Claydee & Dimension-X - Call Me
(Pop with great vocals and hints of electro sounds and steady beat)
2. Alexunder Base ft. Mirela - Feelings (Club Version)
(Nice deep vocals and smooth bass. Also deep steady beat)
3. Fly Project - Goodbye
(Pop - High pitched tones during the reffrain natural and distorted guitar notes included)
4. Ela Rose ft. David Deejay - Lovely Words
(Nice deep bass , deep vocals , ambient sounds at the beginning)
5. MIMS - Move (If You Wanna)
(RnB - Very deep strong bass , human speech , harsh mid sounds like percussion)
...and about 20 others!
Regards!
Reserved for future use and because I can!

Not likely unless you do something incredibly thoughtless which again I can't be sure because headset and speaker are far different in technology.

Awesome stuff, I have to say this has my westone 4s spitting out sounds I have not previously heard in my music. Haven't stopped listening to my collection since.

yes, i remember i used viper4android or something similar.
A workaround could be to edit notification sound and decrease volume by 5db , saving to a new sound

You could manually edit build prop, but I couldn't direct you to what line exactly.
Thanks for all the advise! I was hoping it was a OP6 problem because all my sounds are very loud.
I have the same problem with the notification sounds. After the 5.1.6 update they don't seem to be affected by any of the volume controls.
My op6 is not loud. How make you louder?
for me 5.1.7 did not fix it...
All of the sounds are very loud because on 5.1.5 everyone was complaining that the sounds were too low. So OnePlus pushed up the volume. You can go on to the OnePlus Community forums if you want to read all the complaints about how low the sound was
The problem was people complaining it was too low. For me personally, the audio was just fine. never missed a call or any notification at all, anyway...everybody had to complain. So now ONEPLUS boosted up the levels to a point you can hear your phone ringing across the building in minimum level.
Funny thing is: I have to use an app to decrease screen brightness to lower levels than minimum at night, and i have to use another app/kernel to decrease the sound to minimum levels too. lol. I love this phone with all my heart, but i hate having to hack 2 basic settings

Which app do you use to lower the volume?
The problem with the sound will be fixed in a next update
This issue will be fixed in next update, please verify by that time. Any other concerns, please create a new thread for further help.
Thank you and have a nice day.

I too am waiting for someone to answer. There are guys who are using gravity box but it needs Xposed. If there is any other way to show the notification volume other than xposed I am waiting for that.

I installed xposed tomorrow with ringer and notification volume unlink module. Unfortunately didn't find any other options, hope developers will add this basic option to some update. For now it works fine for me.

Okay so there is no other option then xposed
I cannot use xpose because of some reasons so I have to wait for inbuilt feature or should use custom ROM.

I just tried the app and I can't leave notification at 100% and lower the phone ringer volume, they move together when I change one of them. App is a no go unless I'm missing something
Apparently you did not search the settings for the ring and notifications separation toggle

[OSP] PA-CEQ - Community Equalizer for Poweramp and more.

Before I start, this is not a app for Poweramp. This is a equalizer value for the app.
Credit for PA-CEQ
@San_X for the Balanced Settings back in 2014 concept linked here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2674303.
JohnRTitor for testing PA-CEQ 3.0.
PA-CEQ or Poweramp Community Equalizer is a community driven equalizer for Poweramp, Poweramp Equalizer (not a app) and other devices which that improves audio fidelity of songs.
I am aware that this has been posted 5 years ago on the XDA forums. I actually used that preset before making PA-CEQ but felt something off about it. PA-CEQ is actually based on the same preset with some changes made to it.
How do you install PA-CEQ?
1. Go to Releases linked on Github and download the latest PA-CEQ.zip file in there. Select the version of PA-CEQ to use, choose either the Normal or Apple DAC option and copy the equalizer prefix to Poweramp/your device.
2. Copy the values within the screenshot to Poweramp or your device or import the equalizer file inside the For Poweramp Equalizer folder to Poweramp Equalizer.
Reserved for any needed added info. Not a bump.
For anyone wanting to compare or find a estimate equalizer to San_X's settings, here is a link to it. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1CQmyyIsFs6ax9ba0FMYMqdh4kgziSIdP/view?usp=drivesdk

Sorry for the lateness. Had a job and university courses to focus on at the time. Are you sure you put the file from Github to the right folder location being Android/data/_com.maxmp.poweramp.audioplayer?
Should be loading it up.
Thanks!
I tried it with Samsung S8 & JBL Flip 5 Bluetooth speaker...I prefer little more bass...is there a possibility to have a newer file?
Not working for me. Preset was not loaded. Help me please

There is a bass mode option which is based off the old preset by the original dev I think on Github, else I can maybe see it? I normally don't use bass on music myself since I feel it ruins the original punch but at min you can do like 45% Bass manualy?

Did you download the right preset? Alternatively you can go on Github and look at the equalizer screenshots and do the preset from there.

If you select the button that looks like 3 dials that go up and down, you get this

Turn on Tone and then adjust the bass dial to around 45% for the original preset or to your liking.

I can't seem to get the import to work. If you don't mind could you please a screenshot for the entire eq so I can copy it manually
Edit : nevermind. I found the screenshot.

Yeah I should have originally posted the screenshots here with a loaded preset 2nd. I think I might have to update how it plays a bit since some devices have a bit of issues with high low frequencies in BT like cars or Apple's Dongle DAC. I do have a preset set for that one soon though.

Thank you for this. Sound output improves a lot. Also there's a slight difference regarding "Hi-Res Output 16 BIT 48 KHZ" mine say "Hi-Res Output 24 bit 192 khz"? Is it correct or not? Thank you
Edit: The App keeps restarting from time to time removing the imported settings?
PA-CEQ 2.0 Release
PA-CEQ 2.0 is released after months. Decided to test the prefix more and sounds a bit of a improvement to PA-CEQ 1. Looking for feedback on this since this is new and more different from the original.
Now with screenshots instead of .poweramp file in a ZIP container in Github and below. http:///github.com/GanstaKingofSA/PA-CEQ/releases/tag/2.0

Hi-Res bitrate and hertz don't matter but it is suggested for music to stay at 44.1kHz. Sorry for a long response. Been so busy in life. Try just using the preset bars in the screenshots than the .poweramp-settings file or try PA-CEQ 2 for some experimentation
Released PA-CEQ 2.1 now.
I used the 31 band preset to calibrate the standard 10 band preset that normally anyone uses for their devices and is a tad improved on 2.0 with fixed bass/vocals. https://github.com/GanstaKingofSA/PA-CEQ/releases/tag/2.1
PA-CEQ 3.0 is now released with a massive improvement to the dB preset and support for Parametric EQ, includes a Poweramp Equalizer Import File, and less gain aggressiveness as the last few revisions. This also should get rid of audio distortion that was present in the past revisions of PA-CEQ. If you wanna learn more or want to try it out, you may do so by going here: https://github.com/GanstaKingofSA/PA-CEQ/releases/tag/3.0
I highly recommend all using PA-CEQ to try it and those that haven't or have but didn't like the last few to try it out and see for yourself.
