Palm is announcing upgrades to Treo 750 to get upgrades to Windows Mobile 6
At 3GSM in Barcelona, Spain, Microsoft announced Windows Mobile 6, the newest version of their mobile phone software platform. As a strong Microsoft partner, Palm plans to offer Treo smartphones with Windows Mobile 6 later this year.

It is unclear however which Treo 750 is meant - the one from Cingular in USA or the one from Vodafone in Europe? In any case the HSDPA upgrade for Treo 750v (the one from Vodafone) still is not available so maybe it will be included in the Windows Mobile 6 upgrade? For now it is unclear when this Windows Mobile 6 upgrade will be available but by this announcement Palm sends clear signal "you can buy 750 safely without being worried that it runs outdated operating system because upgrade is coming". Very good decision of Palm! ... (also Windows Mobile 6 upgrade to T-Mobile Dash has been announced) and now it is yet to be seen which other Windows Mobile manufacturers will follow with which handsets...

This is amazing news! I applaud Palm for this, it is a great move by them as they are getting reading to release the Treo 750 sim-free around the rworld and extend it to more carriers around the worlds also and they wouldn't be selling many without this upgrade. Can't wait for Q2 2007!!!
I m think of unlock my 750v ,but meaby is beter to wait for 6.0,couse I have Hermes already,so I can wait (if not to long) . When does it shows up (wm 6.0) ?

what does this have to do with upgrading a hermes?

I wana buy a Samsung i900 (WM6.1 device) but don't want to have to wait up to another 5 or six weeks for it to be available in europe. The phone was/is released today in Asia, anyone know an Asian website that is a; in English and b; will ship to the UK please?

I've just read according to newswire the Samsung Omnia 2 (i8000) expansion will include China, Australia, Netherlands, Turkey and the UAE and will be available in these countries and more in August.
I've been following details on this phone since May as I want it as my next phone. My contract is now up, but still no mention of a UK release date and my patience is wearing thin.
I don't want to get into a discussion about operating systems...I like WinMo end of story. All I want to know is when this phone is due out in the UK...if ever!!
Anyone know the full list of countries (apparently there are 20) that the Omnia 2 (i8000) will be released in this month?

Has anyone heard of the Final Version/RTM ROM that is going to be default release. I have cooked with numb3rs - Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM onto my t-mobile wing since I left t-mobile for verizon and just use my t-mobile wing as a pocket pc. Everything is stable at the moment.
