If I understood right this is just a patch, not the full ROM.
(Update: No you can’t, my bad. That is a patch zip, not a full. BUT .. I’m working on fixing that. I got my hands on a system dump and built an update.zip for you guys.)
The download was over 30mb and does appear to be the full rom. There is another update on the blog, which is smaller and is to be applied after the full rom. I applied the full update and my phone is showing itself as an ION

I just applied this too, on top of Haykuro's 6.0. I had to do a factory reset afterwards as the onscreen keyboard wasn't working.
This has added:
Voice Dialer
Voice Search
Amazon MP3
and probably other stuff that wasn't on the Vodafone Magic before.
Still no Exchange ActiveSync
I have the same exchange issue. Using touchdown right now which is working very well.

I've managed to install Google ION on my magic, avoiding to replace "recovery.img" deleting it in the zip file and resigning the file using this tool

- the boot is faster, as in the vodafone version of the firmware
- there is voice call and voice search

Does seem faster.
I have to say, I prefer not having multi-touch brower. The zoom is so slow on the multi-touch-esque browser that's it's better to have no accidental zoom when you want to pan instead.

Do google adp phones come pre-rooted, or is that something you still need to do. I understand that the bootloader allows for unsigned roms, so it wouldn't an issue to change it up. I was just curious if this vanilla rooted ion rom you are releasing would be appropriate, or does it have changes that make it work on standard sapphires?

If you have G2 Magic Sapphire, this is so easy to install...
Just have Root, Haykuro SPL and then wipe&flash this rom !
This Rom is simply Great....with overclock aid

I did wipe before flashing (I said it in my post )
Force close of Rose UI, gmail and a few more things. All these happened in the first boot and setup of the OS

I've had some time, and I started playing around with the last CM release 3.9.2 so, I've tweaked a few things, and it came out with this ROM, if you just want the plain porting there is a thread for that, otherwise, give it a try:

-gived more memory trashold for the home apps (it shouldn't effect everybody, just the one that have the home full of widget)

-Using modified Mms apps of senab (it allows you to change user agent)

Given it a go...Browser will not run for me, not suprising as it's based on a rom for which Browser crashes.
Any idea what it could be, as I'm assuming Browser (and therefore email and market!) work for most people. I've been wiping before flashing, and have tried a new, formatted mSD card. Other things seem to work fine, phonecalls, sms etc.
Would love to get these newer rom's working as they feel a lot faster!

I just added the italian's one to the cyanogen's list... don't know witch carrier do you have, I'll see if I could find the settings for it!

Find a bug... in unlock screen i am at 62% battery and says "plug charger"... I dont wipe before instal it, but coming from a modified CRC1, dunno if i need to wipe before instal it.
Is compcache enabled? or must to use swapper with swap partition? Have a swap partition of 32mb when i instaled rom.
And last one, could you add the apn from vodafone spain in next release? i attach a TXT with it

They found out that it only seems to be in other languages than english.
In english it is fine. In every other language you get the plug in charger msg all the time.

I just wanted to thank HellHitZ one more time. I was successful in using the system.img to update a custom version of Virtudude's V3 Rom along w/ some other minor updates for the G1. I didn't even wipe before upgrading & the speed difference is very noticable. So thanks again!

It is noticeable. I left Virtudude's boot.img alone & simply updated all apk's, system frameworks, & a few libs, along w/ adding Cyanogen' Dalvik VM from Donut. Then I added some stuff from Soulife's Rogers Remix 2.9.2 rom. Only minor stuff there. There's no optimization on the apk's, or the frameworks. When I first flashed it, I didn't wipe first. All my apps were still in place, the only problem I had was I had re-create all my email accounts in the updated Mail app. Once I did that, everything was fine. While out working thru early morning hours @ a customer site & roaming on AT&T I also noticed a huge difference in the browser. I've been testing the rom over 16 hours now & I'm happy with it. It does what I set out to accomplish. It's a stable rom requested by some friends that didn't want apps pushed to the sd automatically & isn't themed. It might not be running the latest kernel & have all the new stuff added like other roms, but some people don't care for all that. Just providing another option I haven't looked at your latest version 1.11. How much of the update did you use? Curious. Take care.

The rom I updated using this update is for the T-Mobile G1 which was originally mod'ed by Virtudude, so I kept his boot.img. I only wanted the updated apk's/frameworks, etc. I didn't even look at the boot.img that came w/ this update sorry. I'll let the more qualified "Magic/Sapphire" devs here answer the questions about the new boot.img. Take care.

First release, so theres no such thing as a changelog yet.
Dalvik-cache is stored on the /data partition, which is wiped when you do "Wipe data/factory reset."

Nice to see a new developer around here, I may eventually get into the ROM making business myself now that I'll have a spare phone. I'll be glad to try out this ROM in a few, I'll let you know what I think of it then.

On terminal emulator the "free" command cannot be found...

You can have any SPL for magics but you have right SPL so yes you can use it.

All of the enhancements are listed in the OP, just some kernel tweaks and compcache basically. At the moment, I have no plans on adding any apps to the ROM other than the stock android & google apps. I want to keep this ROM as smooth and clean as possible.

Youtube will not work, there are no HW accel drivers, this has been said many times. But the OTA for eclair has started.

Just to clarify - According to the HTC website, this update is only applicable to ROM versions less than 1.66.XXX.X.

i try it on rom Shipped TMOUS 2.13.531.1 and i see improvments in it ...

I ran it from my hd2 running 2.13 LEON v2.3 rom Manila 2.5.2012.... but it keeps saying "This hot fix is not compatible with your device" would it matter what rom im running?

Most likely it does. When these fixes come out then tend to only work on Stock roms

ok.. thanks.. thats all i needed to know.. i installed the Messaging Client 2015/2016 (1.8) prior.. so itd probably would be the same huh?

its weard,that its only on htc.com website and not the others tried to download it now it didnt work its either been taken down or i dont know

i install and dont see any diferences ...

When I got o the Support page on the HTC.com Philippines website, the update is not even there. I have to go to the HD2 device page itself then I see it there
Looks like they're having some technical difficulties on their site..
The HotFix says that it's not supported by my device, and I have a stock 1.48 ROM.. And on the update site it says that is applicable only for ROM versions less than 1.66...
I kinda don't get it

On HTC Italian website, the description says "less or equal to 1.66.xxx", so I've downloaded and install it on my stock italian 1.66 ROM.
Even if apparently nothing is changed, this hotfix report 2016 version of HTC Messaging app, so I think that therefore is an update.

it takes a few minits before it is installed.
hmm but after installing i dont seem to see any improvements in the sms lag at all?!?! anyone with the same problem?
