Hello there,
I'm by no means an expert with mobile phones, but was recently given a C600 and having done some research on the net managed to unlock the phone myself.
However, although the phone was working fine with an O2 prepay sim card for the past few weeks, it has now decided to have what can only be described as a 'fit' every time i try to use it.
Half the time the three colured screen comes up when i turn it on, which says tornado, and a series of numbers, and then when i can get the phone switched on properly, half the time some of the buttons refuse to work, and the other half the phone will decide to flip between the earpiece volume setting screen, the camera, and the voice command thingy, when all i am trying to do is to text my mate to see if he wants to go for a beer!
Needless to say i haven't had a beer for the last two days, and am a little annoyed about being constantly outwitted by a mobile phone, so i decided to come to the experts for help.

Your problem is cammera button - its half stuck so you need to clean it.

didn't change the rom at all as i heard that the new one was no good, its as it came out of the factory...
however, the toggle button is now not responding at all as with many other c600s from what i can tell on the net, so i may have to install the new rom anyway and hope that solves the problem.
i have a feeling that i will have to go through the entire process of unlocking the phone again when i have installed the new rom also, i'm starting to wonder if it is worth it....but i do really like the phone so it would be a shame to give up

25 and a half hours, but sorry for the impatience its just very frustrating to not be able to use a phone when i have no spare.
i'm pretty sure the problem runs a little deeper than the camera button but i'll give it a try.

First of all thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide me.
A while back I installed Alex.v52.ATT.162.Cube.ROM located at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=363865 and all was working as expected. I decided to install Duttys_WM6.1_5.2.19700_Hybrid_V2_1_64.08.21_CubeV2_ ROM located at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=388947 but upon completion all I got was the boot screen. Rebooting did not help so I reinstalled the Alex rom. Upon completion of the installation process of the Alex rom, the phone tried to reboot but nothing happened. It just stayed off. I tried to hard reset and nothing. When connecting to the computer and the power adapter, the charging light does not come on. I tried to change the battery and nothing helps. At this point I am out of things to try so I am posting in hopes someone has had this issue and was able to recover the phone.
Please note that I created a separate thread for this since the Alex rom thread was discontinue and Dutty is no longer supporting the Kaiser.

Did you at all revert from HardSPL? b/c i assume you had it at one time since you flashed alex's rom earlier.

Oh, i was confused by his statement about getting to the boot screen. Hmm, that's way over my head. You might try PM'ing Gsleon3, he is the man to fix that kind of stuff. Be nice to him though

thanks for the post skat's. Nah man i didn't know about that. I have been completely away from phone/internet for the past 2 weeks so didn't have any link to the cyber world. Just got back on yesterday and really hadn't have time to comb through everything i missed so far.
That is a bummer but i guess thats his to decide. I don't plan on getting a diamond but i hope he will cook for touch pro when that comes out.

zeezee: The phone had HardSPL v1 and I did not do anything to update or change it.
One thing I did notice when I removed the battery and used a friend's phone to test if it was working was that it was at 40% and I know that when installing a ROM it calls for the battery to over over 50%. Could this have caused the issue. I did charge it to 100% afterwards and put it back on the phone with no success.

yeah, it is kind of a bummer, but i understand leaving for a new device. he spent a lot of time cooking here.
I'm definitely hitting up the touch pro. it looks fantastic. i will miss the tilting keyboard, but it looks so much better.

I've had a similar problem when my device wouldn't power on:
Try holding down both soft keys and pressing the power button if that doesn't work

Unplug the device, remove the battery, take a nap (longer the better), replace the battery, then try powering it again, i had the same thing happen to me when i tried to cooking a ROM, scared the crap out of me. Thought i bricked my phone. but it came back to life after the cycle. You have to make sure that all the juice is gone from the unit, just changing the battery may not have enough time to discharge it, also make sure that the sim door is close and there is no SD card installed, after i got it to turn on i had to flash my device with a SD card cause the USB didn't work.

Camboy06 please do let me know if you find a solution. I only had my Kaiser for a month or so. This obviously hasn't happened to many folks so finding a solution wont be easy.

Try This
Holding the 2 soft keys and pressing the reset button. If not that try holding the camera button and pressing the reset button.
Happened to me too last night. Similar anyway. I was using skype and charging my phone from the charger then it just stopped charging. I soft reset and it still didn't work. Hard reset and that didn't work. The USB port is dead. I'm going to try flashing from the SD card. Maybe that will flash I'm sure but we'll see if it fixes my problem.

I have JasJam, and it was ok until I removed the battery one day for some reasons, when I put back the battery the mobile was dead!!
when I try to charge it.. it shows red light instead of green!
I tried to follow some web-solutions so I removed the battery while the AC was plugged in, the red light then start flashing! I put the battery again but with no result! the red light is back.
I tried to hard-reset it, but even this was not working, it's not accepting the hard-reset!!

Hey there, im afraid it doesnt look good my freind. Are you still using stock rom or a cooked one?
Assume you cant even enter bootloader if hard reset doesnt work?

that's right, I can't enter bootloader..
actually, my Jasjam fall in water before three days, but i dry it and it works normally for two days after!
then when I removed the battery and put it back the problem started!
is it possible that it's some kind of shortage ?

Id say your only option is to take it in to a service shop, although its probably cheaper to get a different machine im afraid!

Its been like a month i am having this problem with my htc touch2 that it turns off automatically after some random time, and then it doesnt turns on again. Usually it happens when its in my pocket. To turn it on again i have to remove the battery and put in again . Is there anyone else who is also having this problem?

Have you installed a program that could trigger the reboot? Maybe try a hard reset times when nothing else helps ...
HI, i tried removing all the software that i installed before, and i also tried doing th hardSPL. but problem remains .
You must call the Htc Support to get a new batterie (the problems appear with batterie ref 35H0015-11M)

Are you sure that new battery will solve the problem? actually have have gone through a couple of blogs and problem solving discussions over internet and they say that even the battery is replaced, the problem still remains. i am still not sure what the problem is

I've heard that's there a problem with some sim, but it seems that it won't happen randomly then. In this case (some new sim from swisscom), the Touch2 won't turns on.

thats interesting, i guess there are lot of problems with this cellphone, but in my case i am sure that the sim is good to go. though i will test it with other sims aswell, thanks.

Don't worry,I had this problem for a really long time before I solved it!
This problem has been proven to be battery-related.The only way out is to change the battery.

its so good to read a positive hope message . I think its a problem with specific manufacture serial numbers as there are a lot of people like me having same problem .
Well I will try changing the battery then. Lets see how it goes. I will post the update after chaging the battery

HI, I have the new battery now. And works perfect. Its 5 days now and now turn off anymore.. Vuhuuu...
hello everybody!! i have the same problem!! i will try to change the batery..but i also have noticed that the phone turns off only when i connect to simple 2G network. When i connect via 3G or H it works fine.

I had the problem and I logged a problem ticket with HTC Service center at Malaysia..
Subject: HTC Touch2 Self-Power Off intermittently and unable to power on again via the Power button.
Desc: My Touch2 was purchased on 16-Nov 2009. It experiencing intermittent self-power off problem when phone was left ideal for couple of second! Secondly, the phone was intermittent "freeze" when charging with power adapter. For both cases, the phone cannot be turn on via the Power button. Must perform manual Reset to power on the phone each time. I performed FACTORY Reset 5 times already; disabled the Touch2Flo; disabled ALL auto power off.. yet it did not resolve the problem. [ROM Version: 1.28.707.3 (66092); Radio Version: 3.49.25.05; Protocol version: 61.42t.25.31H]
The service center called and they offered to change the motherboard. I had it changed unfortunately the problem still persist. And worst still the touch screen didn't not respone after a while. I sent to fix and waited for another 2weeks, and changed the 2nd motherboard. I'm been using the repaired phone for past 2monts WITHOUT any intermittent power off issue.. YIPPI!
P/s: My batt Serial No: 1GKA299KQQ4912. Part No: 35H0015-11M. The HTC repair report did not mentioned whether they change my batt nor I cannot confirmed whether it was the "-07M". Anyway, I'm glad that my nightmare is over for now

u must have installed srs hd wow... remove that and insted use hd tweak to increase volume...srs hd makes the error///
Hi, i didn't want to started new thread but after spending 2 hours of searching i gave up Something weird happened with my device. When i press power button i can see Sense unlock screen, i can see that i have network signal even wifi connection. I can even plug device to pc and there is a connection. But when i try to unlock device there is no response, no vibration nothing at all. Does any of Ya had the same problem. I'm on a stock HTC Rom with official ICS update so nothing special (my device is still on warranty )
Can you give it a battery pull, wait about 20 seconds and pop it back in and see if it starts up?
because your STOCK and still under ware tee I would bring this to the attention of your provider or who ever handles the warentee issues for your device. Perhaps they can offer a fix OR replace the device through warentee. I'm pretty sure you won't have any problems going through warentee. You have not altered your device in anyway so you will be good. I would contact them asap and see what they have to say. I wish you the best and hope you get this resolved soon. Let us know what they say. Likely you will get a new device . Good luck!

I live in Norway so as You know Scandinavian countries recieved ICS update as first. I was running my device without any problems since then, nothing at all and then yesterday evening this **** happened Yeah but i can try fixes or tommorow i will get Nexus Damn i hope those guys at the store aint gonna make any problems (i spared money for 6 months to buy this phone and now that :/ )
Finaly today i got my phone back. They just flashed new Rom into it. You can imagine how happy i was (let the customize begin ) When i came back home the first thing i've done was installation of ADW Launcher Ex then suddenly i see that my volume button is missing (FUUCKK) I've found it on the carpet. So i've tought that i'll read about it in the internet. Everyone was complaining about HTC's Customer Service. But i've filled the form, attached two photos and after five minutes THEY called me. The guy was verry nice and only because my device is six months old i don't have to pay for the cover BUT suddenly right after we end talking a LAG came back. SOME FUUCKKINNGG DISASTER !!! So my friend have called me and i was able to answer the phone. I think it's because of ADW Launcher because right after i've unnistaled it everything works fine. Such a shame, i really like this launcher. Can You guys give me some tips about launcher similar to ADW. Cheers
Just take the plunge and root the phone and stick a rom on there.

Got a One X that does not start like it should. I think its something I can solve with my two hands, and hopefully not something too hard for me, to send it to some hardware fixer in some factury?!
The following things happens when I PRESS THE ON/OFF-START-button!
1- The red-charging-light turns OFF
2- The phone vibrates.
3- The red-charging-light turns ON
2- HTC Sync starts, and even "folder options" by Windows 7, there I can select to view whats on the memory, like a USB-stick.
And thats it. The screen remains black. Even in a darkroom, there were no light on the screen at all.
The phone is about a year old and I dont think its broken at all. But its the first time a phone is going black-screen on me, so dont actually know what or how to do.
Thats why I turn to u guys, and hope that you can help me in the right direction!

OK, so it's starting like it should but black screen....
Try this - power your phone off then hold the volume down and the power button at the same time. Should start you up on a white bootloader screen. If you don't see the white screen, it's probably a hardware problem with your screen itself :crying: Do you still have warranty?
The "black screen" issue is a fairly common hardware problem from all accounts. It happened to me this past weekend. It's not clear what causes it, but a lot of people have experienced it.
I got AT&T to upgrade me early to a One. I've been fooling around with my One X, but nothing has solved it. I ran the 3.18 ruu on the chance it was a software issue, and it made no difference.

I'm really disappointed with this phone. I did not know it would be difficult and so complicated.
It's not even used much and now dead?!
I've tried everything now. Read through many forums and especially on XDA. Tested with different combinations of keys, installation of RUU and even tried to open it and see what the problem is ... BUT NOTHING
Why should this happen to this phone / model?
Always had HTC and never seen anything like this. Really disappointed: (

try putting pressure on the left side of the screen, near the edge, see if it flickers on at all. If so, it could be a loose cable.
