Is there a way to disable X7510 power auto-scaling via registry changes? - Advantage X7510 General

Hi, is there a way to disable the power auto-scaling in X7510 via registry changes?
I tried Pocket Hack Master but don't quick like the slow down when I restart the machine and the extra space the icon occupies at the bottom which requires another utility to hide...
Thanks!

This does not answer your question, but I use XCPUScalar to always run my X7510 at 624. It has options of removing the speed monitor on the bottom bar and the option to show it on the top bar instead.

Hi cktlcmd - what settings do you recommend for the x7510. I've just downloaded XCPUScaler for the first time and note not a lot of help on their web-site. A search for Athena on their forum doesn't turn up much either.
Thanks

I don't use the auto scaling. I just constantly run mine at 624. I can increase it to 663 (the next speed following 624). Anything faster than that and it will freeze.

yup, on the same topic
people that complain about video being slow, blah blah blah, should try this hack as well.
since most of the time when people noticed that "Video LAG" is due to the speed change.
is just like earlier versions of AMD and Intel CPU on a Desktop with speed stepping, you also notice that choke, before it speeds up

Do you leave the % settings under the Advance tab just as they appear?
Thanks.

Under FILE Settings:
check MINIMIZE ON START
check AUTO START ON SOFT RESET
Under OPTIONS Settings:
check APPLY SCREEN FLICKER FILTER
The rest of the settings are UNTICKED and I left alone.

Thanks a bunch

CPU usage

Is this normal in WM5? CPU usage is 70% all the time (even after hard reset) and games are running very slowly. Is it problem in my device or is it normal. Am I doing something wrong?
Thank you for any help

70 % remaining or used?
Not normal, which application eats the cpu?
70% used (in XCPUScalar)... when I look into DRrunning apps it shows that idle proceses are using 75-85 cpu usage.

This is normal, it takes around 15% to show cpu usage.
Ok but it is normal that every game has really poor framerate? Even my friend with mda 1 has now better performance than me...

Nope, but which rom do you have? Have you a lot of background apps? What is the status of the memory?

I am using C_shekhars ROM (24 pagepool, 40 ramdisk)
As I said it is doing it even after hard reset with no apps. I have almost 50MB free program memory now. I think thats enough for a game like worms world party, so problem must be somewhere else.
why not try without XCPUScalar
maybe it's underclocking the device
I did hard reset and everything seems to be fine now... really strange because I tried hard reset several times. I'll install apps one by one and find that one which is responsible.
Thx for all help

What tool are you using to show cpu usage ?
Most of the time, only showing the cpu usage takes around 15% of the cpu!

Yeap, as I mentioned earlier. Showing the CPU usage with TM takes around 15 % because it is updated every second.

This is an excellent idea.
XCPUScalar does not properly store your settings when toggling 'dynamic' mode on or off - the process is this:
1. set dynamic on, then set up your cpu vs load speed ranges
2. EXIT xcpuscalar
3. launch it again
4. set dynamic off, then exit
5. start again
6. choose a speed for when the machine is charging on the first page (the slider above 'dynamic' mode toggle)
7. exit
8. start again, turn on dynamic mode
9. exit
10. DONE! it's now safe to run, and will remember your settings
this bit me in the ass for a long time. sometimes it would underclock so hard I couldn't answer calls - other times, it was running at 500mhz and giving me about 2 hours on a full charge.
XCPUScalar won't let you configure everything at once. it's great when you get over that.

TomTom - Stop auto minimize when PPC switch OFF/ON

To everyone using TomTom not just in your car !
Is it possible to stop the auto minimize of TomTom's windows when you turn OFF then back ON your PPC screen ?
I know I can revert back to TomTom from the tray icon, BUT it is very annoying and boring to do that ! When you use your PPC outside your car, you often want to check just for a few second your PPC to check that you are on the right direction ! you do NOT want to have your PPC always ON !
And you must also consider a power limitation, when you are on foot, you do not have a car battery next to you to power up your PPC, so it is essential to be able to turn ON/OFF your PPC screen to save battery life.
-> but TomTom's window always disappear in that process, how to avoid this !
Good question. I'd also like to know this. Sometimes I get on a 30 mile straight or stuck in traffic, so could do with turning the screen off to save energy
I'm afraid this isn't a solution, but a quick workaround would be to set one of your ftouchflo gestures to tomtom. Then you could maximise it with a simple sweep.

Yes, a workaround, I have tested it but surprisingly it TomTom does not come back immediately like any other program when they are minimized !
It takes about 2s to comes back.
That's annoying when you are on foot and you just want to turn on the screen to check if the direction is ok.
Maybe if I remove go to tray icon of TomTom, it will no longer minimize after every switch OFF/ON of the screen.
Does anyone know how to stop TomTom tray icon feature ?
Slightly off-topic
Any way to stop ActiveSync when TomTom is launch?! Minimize I can live with, but ActiveSync is more annoying.
Has someone an idea, what causes Tomtom to minimize every time you turn OFF/ON the screen display ?
I would like to do a skschema script to fix this. But I need to investigate what causes this minimization ?
bump
I too am trying to find out if its possible to prevent tomtom minimizing and stay running when the backlight is turned off. Other GPS programs i use stay running and dont minimise as well as other programs in general so i am assuming its some kind of power saving function of tomtom. Im assuming it changes something or monitors something to auto minimize itself when it sees the backlight go off.
Hallo, i,m new here and i hope my message will go ahead.
So far I made following observance.
Today i nstalled a new beta version of mortPlayer V3.31 b75.
After i had installed mortplayer and it is running then TomTom does not minimise. after deactivating my HTC 7500; WM6 Tomtom 7
Perhaps it will show equal behavior on other systems
Good luck
nope, still minimizes and stops using GPS when screen goes off even with this version of mort installed. Maybe share the settings so i can see if how you have it set works for me.
Tomtom minimising
even on my Dell x51v TomTom does not minimise when I turn off for a sleap,If you mean the GPS mode shouldn´t be turned off while sleaping , so am I not sure wether it is possible, and even if it is ,it would drain battery .
What i mean is, i want TOMTOM to stay running while the device has the screen turned off. This way it will save battery life as i cant look at the screen while im on the motorbike.
Same Here
I also would like TomTom to behave like other application.
Because it goes to the tray:
- you have to try to hit that small icon in the tray with your finger, or pull out the stylus
- you can not use that Alt-Tab, to switch away and back
- it does not show up in task manager
- if you assign a button to it, it take a few seccond to show up (but it's instant when you hit the tray icon)
- waste Today screen space...
So like the others, I would appreciate help on changing that behavior.
Thanks in advance

Tmobile MDA Question

I know this is a stupid question, but how do I overclock my MDA?
You should give batterystatus a try, perfect program
http://www.chi-tai.info/cs_batterystatus_xda_neo_wm5_ext_im_cs.htm
Appreciate it.
I tried the program, but the speed keeps going back to normal.
Am I just thick?
What are you setting it too?
Nothing too steep, just 208.
overclocking with battery status
You need to click on OMAP settings from your "options" menu. If u don't want the speed to automatically optimize and therefore fluctuate click on the cpuscaler tab and disable the scaler function. if u use the set cpu speed tab it will switch on u no matter what. if u set the speed via omap settings u can tell the device to overclock on wakeup etc.(you could reboot and still have the 208 speed you want).
There is two or three overclocking software for the wizard i think! Use the seach link in my sign to find the ones who want. Always remember not to max out, cuz if you do, then you would have to hard reset!

Device: Elfin WM 6 Need some factory default Registry Power Settings

Device HTC Touch Elfin
Model No Elf0101
CPU OMAP 850
Speed 201 mhz
Ram 128
Flash size 256
Rom : 2.21.631.1 WWE (Original WM 6)
Radio 03.07.90
Hi guys. I have recently been playing with my registry settings, making some changes in an attempt to keep my WIFI conncetion alive and or Keeping device from entering standbye. I have made note of some of my default settings; however, being tired and at my wits end, I forgot to take not of the default settings for two registry entries and made and saved the changes. Now My device keeps waking up on it's own to a blank screen. I am not sure which one of these it is but I know these are the only ones I didn't note the default values for so if anyone has these default values for me I would really appreciate it.
Needed Default values for
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENT_CONTROL_SET\CONTROL\POWER\STATE\UNATTENDED
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENT_CONTROL_SET\CONTROL\POWER\STATE\RESUMING
I Know I can hard reset the device, but this would be a big pain for me, so if anyone could take a quick look into their device registry and provide me with these default values, I would appreciate it very much.
Thanks
Rod
Bump back to top since I have not gotten any response yet. Thanks

Hi Ather90 - I have tried a previous version of the Advanced configeration tool and it did not work to keep my WIFI alive on my device - Reg settings or locations were not the same for my device, this is why I was playing with the registry myself. Could not find anything for the Elfin specific to keep the WIFI alive in all of my searching, so I was playing with it myself based on what I read about on other devices.
I will try Advance Config 3.3 however, still would like the factory default reg values I requested above unless you think that the Advance Config will set these values to the optimum value and solve my problem - I have been experiencing some significant increase in battery drainage as well and would like this solved. I understand that keeping wifi alive in standbye will increase battery consumption while wifi is alive, and that I would have to turn wifi off manually when I am done to conserve battery, this is not an issue for me as I do it anyway already all the time. Just want WIFI to stay alive when I want it to.
For now I want to reverse the changes I made to my registry back to default values. Then I can take not of the default values and play with Advance confic 3.3
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to look up these values for me.
i suggest u to perform a hard reset, this will make sure every setting/registry becomes default.
I got it now so that the display does not turn on on it's own now - Not sure how battery issue will be now - I am assuming it was related to the display lighting up on it's own - so all should be good. I would still appreciate it if someone could look into the two registry settings I requested above, so that I can compare them. I only want to perform a hard reset as a last resort right now and I don't think that it is necessary.
OK, I don't think that battery consumption is a problem now - Left my device on standby overnight (was fully charged) and this morning, battery was at 99% still. Usage drainage appears normal so far as well.
Please, I would still like to know what the default registry values I requested above are - just to see if I have them the same now, to see what I have done.

Hi
My Registry entries under these two keys are attached in the .zip file. Device details as per my signature. I disabled turning off Wifi in sleep mode using Advanced Config.

Thank you so much andrew-in-woking - This information was very useful - I had been playing with the values of these keys until I found a combination that seemed best and as it happens, the values are the same as yours - Thanks - I just wanted confirmation and reassurance that I had set the values back to default setting which I must have gotten lucky and managed to do. But I never would have known without something to compare it to.
Thanks again

Backlight Control to TD2 and WM 6.1

Hi all
I have made a small and simple program to control the backlight. I know it can be done in WM but I think that the way to do it is not the most simple one.
The program is written in C# and therefore require .NET Compact Framework 3.5 which can be downloaded here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2ZGV1DNJ
A picture of the program and the program itself is attached.
When the program is installed it can be found under Start --> All --> Backlight Contol.
Everyone is welcome to express theirs opinion about the program, cons, pluses etc.
Last I want to mention that installation is ones own responsibility.
Update 8-07-2009:
Version 1.1 released. Now with configuration of automatic light adjustment.
Thanks.. I will try it..
I prefer 3 tap, instead of 7-8 tap in standart settings procedure..

Maybe But I just wanted simple and easy to use backlight control when I enter a cinema, when I am outside or when I want to save battery. Therefore the design with big buttons. Thats all
this would be a very helpful tool - unfortunately when i try to run it, i get the message "Unable to detect current backlight level." i am able to select/deselect the box for auto adjustment, but when i tap the up or down button nothing happens. i am on wm6.5 21892. any idea anyone?
framework
Is it absolutely necessary to instal .NET 3.5?
Your soft is another promising app I cannot test because I don't want .net update.
Why wouldn't you compile app with .net 2.0?

use PowerOptions, with the power options, your device screen off will completely turn off the screen while WIFI, bluetooth, music etc. will still run.
